Davis thought his life was going good, he had gotten the girl of his dream Kari to date him but after meeting their new teacher he and all of his friends are thrusted into an adventure they will never forget not just dealing with Digimon but Kaiju as well watch as Davis and the digidestined fight to protect both worlds and uncover the secrets of the Kaiju and their teacher's past

6. Light, Hope and Tag Team Dueling

The next day, after class had ended, many students gathered at the lunch table. They were all curious to see that Davis and Xeno were playing Duel Monsters. Xeno had 2300 life with 3 cards in hand, 2 on the field, and Tri-Horn Dragon in attack mode, while Davis had 1900 life with 2 cards in hand, one field, and White Horn Dragon in attack mode.

"Face it Motomiya. if there's one thing I'm better at than you is strategy." Xeno said with confidence.

Davis wasn't fazed since he was able to protect White Horned Dragon with Negate Attack. "It's not over yet Xeni. I still have a trick on my sleeve." Davis smirked.

"Where did they get this game?"

"Is it a new version of Dungeons and Dragons?"

"Where can I get those cards?"

Davis took his turn and drew his card before looking at Xeno's field and his back row. After reading the rules and officially looking through his deck, he was able to finally get the hang of it, and he and Xeno were about even in the game.

'I can't attack with those back rows since Xeno knows about White Horn's ability/' Davis thought

"I activate Pot of Greed, which allows me to draw two cards," Davis said before drawing cards from his deck.

"Draw all the cards you want. This is where I finally beat you." Xeno grinned.

"Heh, maybe or maybe not." Davis grinned. "I place a card face down," he said placing a card face-down

"Next, I'll activate my other face-down Rebellion," Xeno said as he revealed his other facedown card."Thanks to this card I take control of your monster and it attacks you."

"Wait, what?" Davis said, shocked

"Damn…" Davis cursed.

"Hmph." Xeno smirked.

"Good game." Davis said, holding out his hand.

Xeno looked at his hand before smirking as he took it. "Yeah, it was a good game, a game I can beat you that I could finally beat you at." Xeno said.

"Jameser, games like this aren't my usual forte. It's fun, however you still can't beat me in a fight." Davis teased.

"You want to bet." Xeno snarled slamming his hands on the table causing it to shake and the cards to fly a bit.

The noise also woke up Jaden who was sleeping while Kagome was reading a book.

"Is it lunchtime yet?" Jaden said as he woke up.

"No, it's just two kids about to get into a fight." Kagome said sarcastically. "Are you sure it was ok for them to be playing at school? Not that it's a bad thing but since we haven't fully mass-produced the game yet."

Jaden glanced at Kagome "They're mostly children, let them enjoy the fun for now until they have to fight. After all, that's what you and Alice wanted me to do? Give them a chance to mature, right?" Jaden asked with a smile

"Hmmph." Kagome huffed while smiling.

"Hah, I made you smile." Jaden chuckled

"You chuckling is creepy," Kagome remarked, going back to her book.

"You're getting better Davis, much better than yesterday." Kari complimented.

"Thanks." Davis smiled.

"Your a natural duelist Xeno, you only dueled twice and you use your deck well." TK said.

"Hmph, of course I am." Xeno grinned pleased at himself.

"You and your ever-growing ego." Xion sighed.

"Move aside boys, it's my turn." Kari told them she wanted to have a chance to play.

Jaden looked at the time and then he remembered what kind of deck Kari was given, definitely not the deck to be used during school hours. Suddenly the bell for lunch rang.

"Oh man, I wanted to play more." Davis complained.

"Well it's better this way." Jaden said

"I didn't get a chance to play." Kari muttered in disappointment.

"Well your deck is built for stalling and built for healing yourself as well as dealing damage to the enemy at once. It's not the type of deck to use during school hours." Jaden admitted

Kari pouted however she understood his point. "Don't worry, maybe after school we'll have a duel." TK told Kari, he was also eager to see what his deck could do.

"If you want you could all duel the Holograms after school." Jaden said

"Awesome, I want another shot at Mana, I'm ready this time." Davis grinned.

"And I want to duel your past self again." Xeno added.

"Perhaps but I should at least introduce you to the rest of my friends back then." Jaden smiled

"You two should take a break today. You should let the rest of us have a chance." Kari told them.

"I guess.' Both said at the same time with disappointment.

"Don't worry you'll both get a chance eventually." Kagome smiled "So Xion is your mother and younger sister coming to watch along with Sakura and Haruka?"

"I don't know about Sakura and Haruka, but my sister has been asking up and down to have a deck of her own, and my mom said she's getting off early today so she'll probably want to see more duels." Xion answered.

"Yeah, Xia wants her own deck and wants to duel." Xeno added.

"What do the three of you think?" Kagome asked both Xeno and Xion

"I think she could have a deck," Xeno answered.

"I agree, and I'm pretty sure mom will be ok with it." Xion added.

"Well it's not uncommon in our world for children Xia's age to have a Duel Monsters deck." Jaden said "I mean even me and Mana had a deck when we were younger, And damage caused by holograms could be adjusted before a duel."

"And it's a little kids card game that everyone takes way too seriously." Kagome said.

"You never played?" TK asked.

"Not everyone is interested in the game, one of my friends is but not me. My brother loves the game and wants to become the next Duel King." Kagome answered.

"In fairness, you had to pass your school," Jaden smiled. "You had trouble with trying to barely pass classes. Emphasis on barely."

"Only because I was dragged into madness with the Shikon Jewel if it wasn't for that I would have been fine!" Kagome growled. "Besides, your dad and mom played duel monsters while saving the world and they still passed."

"Well, what about Kaiba?" Jaden asked "He was in school and he had to run a multinational company."

This bit of information shocked the DigiDestined

"Wait, Kaiba had to go to school? I figure with rich families you hire the best tutors." Davis said as he remembered seeing this on TV once.

"His family history isn't for me to tell. You'll have to talk with Kisara about that." Jaden said

"Him going to school is strange though." Davis said, crossing his arms.

"Not every rich family homes schools their kids. In order to run a company you need to also be social with people." Xeno told him.

"Well, we should go to my house so that I can give you all those bracelets," Jaden said.

"There's something I've been wondering about." Xion said.

"What?" Jaden asked

"Chaos Breaker's been real quiet since our battle." Xion said.

Jaden sighed "He's always the type to go with the flow and strike when we least expect it. Why else do you think I'm always on guard." Jaden admitted "I mean he could attack one day then stay quiet for 2 months and then attack when it's quiet."

"The less I hear about that ugly freak, the better." Xeno scoffed.

"I know what you mean. I killed the fucker so many times and yet he comes back somehow. He even sacrificed his life to give rise to a deity of destruction and he still reappeared before me again." Jaden said

"It sounds like a cockroach; no matter how many times you crush them, they always come back," Davis muttered.

"That's the best way to describe him." Kagome said.

"Of course, he'll also describe us as cockroaches," Jaden said. "My friends and I were in so many life-and-death situations caused by Chaos Breaker that it's a miracle we're even alive sometimes."

"Why did the Digimon Emperor know about the Kaiju?" Kari asked Jaden.

"Let's cut this short. We shouldn't be talking about this around school," Jaden said.

"He's right, your friend Yoko is constantly trying to get 'dirt' on Jaden and your group." Kagome said.

"She's not our friend; she's just a woman who can't keep her nose out of others' business," Xeno frowned.

"That's what journalists do Xeno, they search out the truth in any business," Xion remarked.

"Alright, we'll meet at my house after school, and don't cause fights. Kanako has been keeping an eye on you two and Sai, and I don't want to look after you three in detention again." Jaden said.

"Right. I swear you even sneeze the wrong way she gives you detention, " Davis said, rubbing the back of his head.

(Yuki-Muto House: Lab)

"Kikyo, has there been any activity lately in the Digital World?" Jaden asked

"Aside from the Digimon Emperor ramping up his grip on the Digital World, pretty good all things figure, Kagome and those kids really stirred up the hornet's nest." Kikyo answered. "He was willing to kill Kari and or enslave her."

"Yeah." Jaden sighed. "In every universe, it has to be a kid that's corrupted by an outside force."

"Kagome said he was being manipulated as a darkness was in his heart right?" Kikyo asked.

"Indeed, tell me was Fabia informed of this as well?" Jaden asked, knowing that Fabia has a habit of wondering which she had gotten from Sesshomaru

"I have, but she said that she had a suspicion from the first time she saw him." Kikyo answered. "However she told me that he isn't the only one with that kind of darkness in him."

Jaden sighed "Let me guess, it's Xeno right?" Jaden asked

"Ding ding ding, two boys with the same darkness one isn't an emperor and one isn't it boggles the mind how Xeno hasn't gone down a much darker cause in my opinion Xeno is the more dangerous of the two," Kikyo said

Jaden narrowed his eyes "Your right, I'll let his family know about this tomorrow as well as Sakura on what we found out."

Jaden groaned "It's too bad that the government has restricted access to the technology from our world, we could use it to get in contact with our world for some advice." Jaden said

"I'm still getting used to modern times, the hardest part was getting used to the smell." Kikyo stated. "However, who said the government is where we need to get the technology?"

"Hmm." Jaden hummed.

"There's an entire world of data and technology, we get our hands on it and we should be able to get in contact with the others." Kikyo said.

Jaden nodded, Kikyo had a good point: if the government prevented them from using their technology then maybe they could get some from the Digital World. "Alright, I'll ask Sakura where some of the tech in the Digital World is."

Kikyo nodded. "So she's slowly starting to talk to you?"

"Yeah, Kagome is slowly talking to me." Jaden said

"Me and Kaede didn't grow up with parents, and to be honest you're not the best candidate for a father figure." Kikyo said with brutal honesty.

Jaden stared at Kikyo "You know, do you really have to be straight to the point and blunt as ever? I mean take some acting classes."

"Someone needs to be in this family." Kikyo said. "Kagome and you are lucky, you all had a family and my sister, the only blood family I truly had, has long since passed so I am a woman out of time and at times I feel alone."

Jaden knew this, Kikyo was far out of her time and he knew that they could never replace Kaede and all the stuff that she had done in the name of killing Naraku was still in her mind, she act stoic but underneath was a broken woman and that was one of the reason why they got along was because they both were broken people who wanted revenge.

"However, I have accepted you and everyone else as my family, not as the reincarnation of the Supreme Queen, but you all were there when I was lost and confused afterward. Isn't that what family is for? To help you when you have nowhere to go and don't know what to be?" Kikyo asked.

"You think of me as a father figure?" Jaden asked.

"No." Kikyo said bluntly. "I think of you as a brother who I can relate to with my pain, and maybe a small part of me sees you as a father figure, and maybe Kagome does but you aren't showing her cause it is much harder for you to understand her."

"So I need to understand her?" Jaden said, seeing the hint.

"Yeah, look at what has happened. Dragged into a life she never wanted, you understand that, dealing with a monster who tried to kill you and tried to gain godly powers. You two have that in common, struggling to get an education while living a double life…." Kikyo trailed off.

"Yeah, that's one thing we don't have in common…" Jaden rubbed the back of his neck, despite all the battles and everything Jaden and many of his friends were able to get their education despite everything that happened.

"Here's a small rule, don't try to be perfect… try to be you…." Kikyo told Jaden as she stood up. "You should get ready, those kids will be here soon." she said before leaving Jaden alone.

"Don't try to be perfect… try to be you…" Jaden murmured Kikyo's words. 'Why does that sound much harder than it sounds…'

Soon everyone arrived, in the Lab and the Digimon, however Yaamon and Demiveemon were fighting over food again.

"It's mine Yaamon!" Demiveemon said as he ran away with a sandwich in his little arms

"I had it first Veebrain!" Yaamon shouted as he bounced after the little blue dragon.

Jaden beat up both Digimon "Shut up both of you, if both of you are going to argue over food over time you're here then at least do it in a civilized manner." Jaden snarled

"You didn't have to beat him up." Davis said kneeling to Demiveemon.

"Ow." Demiveemon groaned.

"Are you ok?" Xia asked Yaamon.

"I don't need help…" Yaamon growled.

"As if you know what civilized is." Kagome commented.

"Well then Kagome, congratulations you can handle these two." Jaden said,

"Hey, why me?" Kagome shouted

"Because you handle both Inuyasha and Shippo." Jaden retorted'

"Oh stop it!" Alice raised her voice. "Their in-training Digimon, no different than little kids having a disagreement on the playground. You beating them up wasn't the best solution."

Jaden looked at Alice like she had two heads "Ah-ha, then how would you compare Inuyaha's squabbles with Shippo all the time?" Jaden asked, knowing that Alice was with the group more than him

"Like you and Mana on a Sunday afternoon." Alice said in a dismissive tone.

Jaden just stared at her with a deadpan look while Kagome just giggled at the comparison now that she thought of it

"You can't even think of a solution to stop kids from fighting over food." Alice said, walking over to the sandwich before she broke it in two. "See, much easier than beating on them." she said before giving both Digimon a piece of the sandwich, which Demiveemon happily ate while Yaamon looked at Alice before he reluctantly ate his half.

"Thanks Alice." Xion said happy that the fighting was over.

"I'm starting to wonder if this will be a common occurrence?" Kagome asked.

"Seriously, can you think of a solution that doesn't involve using your fists?" Alice asked Jaden.

Jaden just groaned "Let's just proceed." Jaden said. Alice was right along with Kikyo.

"Alright, who's up for today?" Jaden asked.

"I want a chance." Kari stepped up.

"Ok, so who have you decided to be her opponent?" Alice asked.

"Wait, don't start without us," Sango said as she, Haruka, and Sakura arrived

"Hey mom." Xia said. "Can I have a deck, please?"

Sango hummed before turning to Jaden. "Will she be ok?" Sango asked.

"She will, I promise mother to mother." Alice told Sango.

"Damage from Holograms can be adjusted depending on age groups as well as levels." Jaden added

"So kids her and Cody's ages will be fine." Kikyo added.

"Indeed, it's why a parental lock protects their Duel Disks to prevent tampering with the damage levels from the Holograms. It's the same for the elderly."

"Wow, that feels like an insult." a voice said.

Jaden glared and a kunai slipped into his hand as he threw it at the source of the voice

The Kunai saw a hologram of a woman who looked to be in her mid-forties with a few wrinkles. She had long pink hair with a bit of gray and was wearing a white shirt, a black tube skirt, and blue dress shoes.

"Seriously? Is that how you treat family?" the Hologram asked with a frown.

"Who is that?" Davis asked.

"Jaden's grandmother, Kikyo Muto," Alice said.

"What?! Grandmother?" Sango said as she looked at Kikyo. "You sure not your mother or sister?"

"Yeah, she seems kind of not to be rude young," Catherine said.

"None taken," Holo Kikyo Muto said. I get that a lot, or my real self gets that a lot."

"What is your secret? You look so good for your age." Yolei asked curiously.

"Long story, but to tell you the truth, only fools try to chase after beauty. A woman's true beauty isn't based on appearance but on her inner personality." Holo Kikyo Muto said.

Every female from the universe looked at Kikyo with awe at what she had said.

"To make things easier so we don't get confused with two Kikyos, call me… Catona." Kikyo Muto said.

"Inner Personality." Jaden said "Oh please." Jaden muttered

"Like you're any better." Kagome remarked without hesitation.

"Ladies, don't take what she says to heart." Dharak says from his place

"Tch, so what you're saying is that all there is to a girl is her looks, typical man…" Holo Catona crossed her arms.

"What…no, that's not what I mean. It's because you just love to enforce female dominance," Dharak said

"Only to men like you who don't know how to treat a girl. Now Jaden's grandfather treated me like a queen and was very considerate, and I was the same way." Holo Catona said.

"Just stop, you're not going to win this." Alice told Jaden and Dharak.

"More females poisoned by the teachings of my grandma." Jaden said as he looked at the males "Have fun in hell."

"I was already there. Your mom said you couldn't come out and play." Xeno remarked.

"Ohhh, that was a good one!" Holo Catona said.

"Well, it seems like my grandma is going to watch and be a pain in my neck." Jaden moaned

"If you have time to complain about me being around and 'poisoning' those girls then you have time to set up the duel." Holo Catona said in a serious tone.

"Or what? You're a hologram. You can't hurt me. I can talk shit to you however I want you old hag." Jaden snarked back

Alice then grabbed Jaden's ear and pulled hard. "Ahh!" Jaden cried out in pain.

"Cut the shit already and begin, you holo grandma can't do anything but I sure as hell can so set up the duel or else I cut off what makes you a man!" Alice shouted as she shoved Jaden forward.

"Alright, Alright. "Jaden muttered, freaking terrified as he turned on the Duel machine and it started to generate a hologram.

"You see, ladies, that's how you get your man in line." Holo Catona smiled "With force. Perfect examples are Xeno and Jaden."

"Catona, please, I respect you, but don't get them riled up." Alice begged.

"No, let her speak. I like her advice." Xion smiled

"Me too." Sora smiled as well.

"Yeah, maybe I can finally get those three delinquents to listen." Yolei said as she glared at Xeno the most of the three.

"Bitch." Xeno muttered under his breath.

The Hologram began to take form, and soon, a young teenage girl with platinum blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin she wore the same uniform as the other Xion and Kisara had worn. Many of the boys looked at the girl, finding her very pretty.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you all." the teen greeted.

"Everyone meet Namine Tsunami, one of the best ocean duelists in our world." Jaden told them.

"Hey, Jaden." Holo Namine said in a neutral tone.

"Hey, Namine," Jaden replied.

"Namine is a kind and sweet girl and is always willing to help," Holo Catona told them. But don't let that fool you; like the sea outside of a duel, she is calm and vicious like the ocean."

"This should be a good match." Alice said

"I hope we have a great time." Holo Namine smiled

"Yeah." Kari nodded as she placed her deck into the duel disk before activating it.

"Come on, Kari. They have two wins, and we have two. Make it third." Davis cheered.

"Keep focus." Xeno remarked.

"Do your best." Xion cheered.

Kari nodded, before turning to Holo Namine. "Time to Duel!" Both shouted.

"You may take the first turn." Holo Namine offered

Turn 1

Kari nodded as she drew her first card starting the duel. "I activate Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen." Kari said "This allows me to special summon a Fairy-type monster if I don't control a monster on my side of the field, I'll summon Airknight Parshath in ATK mode."

Appearing was a holy warrior/centaur hybrid

"Next I'll set a monster in DEF." Kari said "And I'll end my turn."

"Seems like she's going on the offensive." Catherine said

"I thought you said that her deck wasn't suited for stalling and dealing damage?" Davis asked

"It's one of its strategies, never said it couldn't be used in offense plays." Jaden said

"He's right. Sometimes those stalling strategies could harm the users more than you think, especially if you control a powerful monster." Holo Catona smiled

"The Xeno from our world's deck was one such deck as it was used in multiple ways besides Suicidal Strategies," Alice told them.

"There's more than one way to use a deck; a true duelist always finds new ways to play it," Jaden said. Like the saying goes, there are more than nine ways to skin a cat."

"I thought it was one?" Xia asked.

"She's adorable. She reminds me of Yuki at that age." Holo Catona smirked.

Turn 2

"My turn" Holo Namine said "I activate the Field Spell A Legendary Ocean."

Suddenly the entire area was engulfed in seawater, causing everyone but Jaden, Holo Catona, Kagome, Alice, and Kikyo to panic

"Where'd all the water come from?!" Yolei gasped.

"I hate water!" Gatomon jumped onto Tai's head digging her claws into the boy's face.

"Gatomon, get off me!" Tai shouted in pain as he tried to pry the feline off his face.

"I'm going to drown." Demiveemon said, his head slightly above the water.

"At least you have arms to swim with!" Yaamon shouted.

"I think this is the first time they all saw such a radical change from a Field Spell?" Kagome giggled

While everyone was panicking, the Yuki-Muto residents were more or less amused, including Holo Namine

"Got that out of your system?" Kagome asked.

"What are you talking about? The whole lab is flooded." Xion said

"And you would notice that you're breathing just fine," Alice said amused

"Huh…?" Demiveemon noticed. "Hey, I'm not drowning."

"This is all a hologram?" Izzy said as he waved his hands through the water he didn't feel the wet sensation that you usually felt when in water.

"Indeed, KaibaCorp spares no expanses on this." Holo Catona says

"Amazing, it all feels so lifelike." Nobu said

"Yes, this is incredible this is light years beyond anything." Izzy said literally fanboying.

"Yeah, imagine what else it can do beyond duels." Cody said with amazement.

"Indeed, we're all currently working on advancing Solid Vision into everyday life." Holo Catona said

"Excuse me." Holo Namine coughed into her hand "May I continue please?"

"Sure." Jaden told her.

"I'll now summon Giga Gagagigo." Holo Namine continued as she placed a card on the blade

Appearing was a cybernetically enhanced reptilian lizard with razor-sharp claws

"Foul, I call foul." Davis cried out, "I read the rules you can't summon a Level 5 or 6 monster without sacrificing a monster first."

"Normally that's true." Holo Namine said, "However," as she opened one of her eyes

"Thanks to her Field Spell A legendary Ocean, all of her water Attribute Monsters have their Levels reduced by 1." Jaden continued.

"As you all continue to learn, you'll come across cards that you have never seen before. Field spells work with specific monsters, either powering up, protecting, or even searching," Holo Catona told them.

"So if we get field spells, they'll help us in our duels?" TK asked.

"There's still so much for us to learn," Xion said, remembering her duel with her counterpart

"Also thanks to my field spell all water monsters on the field gain 200 ATK and DEF points." Holo Namine said

The monster was revealed to be Skelengel.

"When Skelengel is flip-summoned, I can draw a card from my deck." Kari explained before drawing her card. "I'll end my turn

"Numbers?" Sakura asked, intrigued as Jaden never told her about them

"They're a group of 100 monsters numbered 1 all the way to 100. And then there's a group called the over Hundred Numbers that consists of Numbers 101 all the way to 107." Jaden said "Xion was in charge of researching their origins while I was gathering them."

"Really?" Xion asked her counterpart.

Holo Xion nodded. "There isn't time for me to go into full details, but let's just say it has to do with the origins of Chaos in our world."

"Chaos?" Patamon asked.

"Unless you did something while we were sleeping didn't you? That allows us to go to the Digital World." Holo Kisara asked

"The Dueling Computer just needed some adjustments." Jaden said "However only two of you may go at a time."

Holo Mana snarled "take that back." she growled as she stepped forward Towards Davis

"Don't bother." Xion relented. "He's blunt, but he's right, it's best we stay here."

"You could have been nicer." Kari frowned at Davis. She knew like Tai Davis could be blunt and not think his words through, Deadweight is how they talk on the streets.

The Digidestined plus Kagome arrived and when they arrived they were met by Mana and Catona with Mana waving at them

"Hey guys." Mana smiled

"It actually works." Catona said as she balled her fist before she punched Xeno in the face knocking him out

(Yeah, sorry about that, see Catona and my father were best friends and this is what she usually does to him.) Holo Xion explained

"Hmmmm." Sango growled. "I understand that, but she didn't have to lay her hands on my son…"

"Well it's either him or me lady and since he's here I'm not taking his place as a punching bag." Jaden said

"If its Xeno he'll be back in just a couple of seconds." Catona said as she counted down from 5 when she reached 2, Xeno regained consciousness

"Fucking!" Xeno shouted as he jumped up and tried to punch Catona in the face but she caught his fist." what fuck was that for?!"

"Old times sake." Catona smirked

Mana groaned "Sorry, see my grandma and Xion's father, your counterpart was close enough that they usually fight each other which ends with you beaten but you never gave up." Mana said

"Grr, beaten by a sickly old hag, it's fate worse than even death itself!" Xeno growled, as he pulled his arm away.

Catona was about to attack but Mana got in her way. "Grandma, Grandma, you did start it you did punch a kid, you need to remember he isn't our Xeno and his mom is watching you know she'll be pissed even if you did have a relationship with our Xeno." Mana told her.

"Pfft fine." Catona snarled

Jaden just glanced back at Sango. "Maybe it was a bad idea for my sister to ask grandma to come along with them."

"Is this how she treated your father and you growing up? I only hit Xeno when he does something stupid, she just took a pod shot at him for no reason." Sango frowned.

"Depends on what I call her or when I did something, with father she was fine but with me she had to beat me up." Jaden said "I mean once I did a time of the month joke and she beat me up real badly."

"Trust me it was only my grandma, other times were because I call her the H word." Jaden said

The team was moving through a dense part of the forest, and as they moved through it the forest seemed to be getting darker.

"Man, this forest is getting darker and darker." Mana said.

"It's like something you see on Friday the 13th." Xeno remarked.

"Don't worry Kari, I'll protect you." Davis told her.

"Thanks, Davis, but I'm fine on my own." Kari replied she was thankful however she wasn't helpless.

Mana saw this and just shook her head 'Kid really needs to be less overprotective and realize his girlfriend could take care of herself.' Mana thought, hell even Jaden is not that overprotective and he knows most of his friends could protect themselves and he cares about them in his own lone wolf kind of way

"Hmm." Catona turned her head.

"See something?" Patamon asked

"No, it feels like we're being watched." Catona frowned.

"Grandma, should I check it out?" Mana asked

"No, we don't know this world Mana and we're better off in a group." Catona told her.

"I know but this is almost a real-life version of the Legendary Heroes Virtual Reality Game from Kaiba Corp isn't it? Maybe I could use Silver Fang to check out the area." Mana said

"That's not going to work, Kaiju can't be summoned and if they are summoned they won't be able to maintain their forms." Nikko told Mana.

"I see." Mana said as she lowered her head

"The idea was sound though." Nikko said,

"Hey woman, why don't you and Hawkmon scout from the sky?" Xeno told Yolei.

"I have a name you know." Yolei frowned.

"And he should care because." Impmon asked

"Arghhhhh." Yolei yelled out

Hehehe, and you're right." the Digimon Emperor smirked from his throne as his fingers tapped on some buttons. "Tyrannomon are perfect for this." He looked at the two new arrivals, he had never seen either of them before.

"Hmm, what should I do master?" the female voice asked, its gloved arms crossed. "Do you want me to lead them?"

"No, I have another task for you." the Digimon Emperor said, as he chose two more Digimon to fight before he got up from his chair. "Tell Stingmon when he returns, I'm off dealing with these pests." he said as he walked pasted the figure leaving the room.

"Hmm." The figure hummed as she looked at the screen seeing all the humans and Digimon but it's attention was on Veemon out of all of them. "Hehehehe, this is going to get real interesting soon."

Yolei had hopped off Halsemon before he dedigivolved back into Hawkmon.

"Anything?" Kagome asked.

"No, it's hard to scout when the forest is full of dense trees, I was able to see a clearing." Yolei answered, pointing due north.

Everyone glanced at each other "It's the best possible lead so far." Nobu said

"So let's start walking." Catona said.

Soon they all began to walk down the path Yolei had pointed out, as they made their way through the forest was slowly starting to lighten up.

"Halt right there." a voice said, a hologram of the Digimon Emperor appeared before them.

"So that's the Digimon Emperor? He's much shorter than I thought." Catona said a little unimpressed.

"Grandma, not the time right now." Mana muttered

"You've saved me the trouble of looking for you." Xeno scowled as he shot a few bullets at the hologram and went through it.

"Yeah, you really think he'll just show up for real right in front of us?" Mana asked sarcastically "Even I know he was a hologram and I am One made solid." she stated,

"What do you want?" Davis demanded.

"You all are trespassing, this world is only allowed to Digidestined." The Digmon Emperor said.

"But we are Digidestined." Kari remarked.

"Don't be so foolish bitch, only perfect beings can be called Digidesitned." the Digimon Emperor said.

"Only maniacs would think they are perfect." Davis mocked.

"Kagome do you feel that?" Mana asked

"I do, the darkness is getting stronger in him and there's more from another source." Kagome said

"Why don't you come and face us as a man instead of hiding, that way I can kill you easier." Xeno threatened.

"Just try it." the Digimon emperor mocked as he snapped his fingers before vanishing

Jaden watched and was worried "Xion, Sango, there's something that I've wanted to tell you." Jaden said "It concerns your son."

"What?" Sango asked, she really didn't like her son saying those words.

"You remembered yesterday how Kagome explained that the Digimon Emperor has his heart manipulated by an outside source of darkness?" Jaden asked

"Yeah, but what does that…" Xion trailed. "No…"

"You're wrong, my Xeni can't…." Sango held her head as she began to fall back but Sakura grabbed her as Alice brough over a chair.

"I'm sorry but both Fabia, Kagome and Kikyo confirm this and Kikyo told me how it's strange that one of them became a tyrant emperor and how the other isn't. And in her case your son is the most dangerous one and despite my misgivings with the boy and how I feel I have to agree with her." Jaden sadly said

"No! My big brother wouldn't be like that monster." Xia shouted.

"If Xeni was the Digimon Emperor, all of you wouldn't be standing here. Xeni hates both people and Digimon alike." Xion muttered.

"He has Impmon as a partner." Izzy surmised.

"Indeed." Kikyo said

"Now hold on there, that's not enough evidence." Jaden said

"So why do you think two boys have the same darkness in their heart but the most dangerous one with a reborn demon lord as his partner isn't the tyrant?" Holo Kisara asked.

"Yes Kikyo, why do you think so? There's a lot of things that we agree upon but I need sufficient evidence and more reasons on why Xeno is the more dangerous one." Jaden asked

Kikyo closed her eyes. "There isn't much to go on, but I do have one kind of theory but I want to wait and see how this plays out to test it."

"Go on." Jaden said

Kikyo opened her eyes. "Our presence in this world has caused the destiny of it to be distorted."

"You're saying time was distorted by a creature?" Jaden asked

"I can't say, but we aren't from this world we arrived 4 years prior, and look how things have turned out." Kikyo said before turning to Sakura. "You know of the Digidestined Legends, could it be that some of this happening isn't a part of it.?"

Jaden glanced at Sakura along with Sango

"I can't tell you everything, however, there's a reason why Davis and Xeno are rivals along with their partners and that's all I can say for now." Sakura said.

Jaden leaned back on his chair "Even so, outside darkness can't just influence people all of a sudden, it has to take effect gradually." Jaden said "And there's a couple of kaiju with that kind of power and only one with the power to manipulate time and space."

Jaden's eyes widened in realization "No it couldn't be." he muttered

"Don't leave us in the dark, if it's about our world and our friends then tell us." Matt said.

"Sango did anything else happen to Xeno besides his father dying anything at all that could induce some changes." Jaden asked

"Hmm, well one day when I was checking up on him, he was in his bed and he was pale, as white as a sheet. The next day he started yelling and screaming and he punched his computer until his fist bled." Sango said, her face turning grim. "I figure it was him reacting to his father's death that drove him mad, so I sent him to a friend I knew who helped him back to sanity. From that day on he became the Xeno you know now."

"Dammit it, it is him." Jaden snarled as his eyes turned dragonlike

"Tell me what you know." Xion demanded. "You know why my brother is like this and why he freaked out don't you?"

"Please tell us." Xia begged.

"Millenniummon." Jaden muttered out loud

"Izzy?" Joe asked.

Izzy was already on it and was able to bring up an image of Millenniummon.

"It's very possible." Sakura frowned. "Why didn't I see this earlier with Xeno? How could I have been blind?"

"What do you mean?" Sango asked

"Xeno, as well as the kid calling himself the Digimon Emperor are infected by what are known as Dark Spores," Jaden said

"What are the Dark Spores?" Catherine asked.

"Spores released from Millenniummon when he's at death." Jaden frowned "The Dark Spores slowly and subtly increase the intelligence of their human hosts to genius levels as well as greatly increasing their athletic abilities." Jaden explained

"Xeno was already smart before his father died, he was born with a high IQ." Sango remarked.

"You didn't let me finish. Just as they increase the abilities of their hosts, they also slowly and drastically alter its host's personality towards malicious tendencies." Jaden revealed

"Well that explains his aggressiveness and his bad temper." Xion commented.

"If that's true, then how come Jaden isn't the emperor if his mind is so messed up?" Sai asked.

"Wait there's more." Jaden said "Because the Spore draws power from its host's negative emotions such as rage, fear, and despair. it becomes more powerful but its effects can be negated if the host's positive emotions are stronger than their negative emotions."

"Of course, it's you two and the others." Sango said. "Davis, Xeno, Kari, Sai and XIon all balance each other out, Xeni isn't like the Digimon Emperor because of them and us being there for him."

"Is there a way to remove it?" Xion asked

"Yeah, please tell me there is a way to remove my baby boy, so he can go back to who he was." Sango begged.

"Not really once the spores reach maturity death is really the best option" Jaden reluctantly said

"No!" Xia cried as she ran over and punched Jaden repeatedly. "You're lying, you big liar! You're lying!" Xia began to cry as tears fell from her eyes. "You know how to fix Xeni, so stop lying and fix him!"

"I'm afraid he's right. There was never a case of anyone recovering from dark Spores in our world." Holo Xion sadly said, "It even turns the sweetest of kaiju into ruthless and heartless creatures, and the same goes for humans as well."

"Xia, Xia came here." Sango grabbed Xia, who tried to break out of her mother's grip. She brought her daughter into her chest as she cried. "It's okay," she hushed as she rubbed her little girl's head.

"Really killing them is a mercy at this point." Jaden sadly said as he remembered doing that often

"I don't believe that." Xion said. "There is a way to help them. Even if we can't remove the Dark Spores we can't give up."

"I doubt Jameser would really care about those things, but he's far too stubborn to let some spores control him." Sai remarked.

"Pfft." Jaden scoffed "I heard that one before it won't be the last."

"Before?" Sango asked

"What do you mean?" Sora asked.

"How many times do you think I heard many humans and Kaiju with willpower comparable to Xeno claim to do that?" Jaden said, "It resulted in the same thing dying at my claws."

"Then Xeni will go out on his own terms if I had to guess how your Xeno would want it?" Xion said with a glare.

Jaden gave a small laugh "He did go out on his own terms." Jaden smiled

"I rather it not come to that." Sango muttered, not wanting to lose her son like she had lost her husband.

"It won't mom." Xion said as she looked at the scene. "I know it won't."

Everyone watched the Digimon Emperor's hologram vanish followed by huge tremors, out of the trees came Tyrannomon, with the real Emperor riding on top of one.

"Looks like someone's overcompensating." Mana quipped

"Not the time Mana." Kagome said looking around, she could feel it. "I feel them."

"The Digimentals?" Catona asked.

"Yeah." Kagome said

"Then go." Davis said. "We'll keep these creeps busy."

"Niko." Kagome asked "Can you stay and help them."

"You're going to have to make it quick, I won't be able to stay in my true form long." Nikko said.

"Grandma, go with them I'll stay behind." Mana told Catona.

"Alright." Catona said

"Mana, can I trust you with Nikko until I come back?" Kagome asked

"I've been around Kaiju before you ever picked up a deck, she was safe with me." Mana smirked.

"Kari, TK come with me." Kagome said, getting a hunch she'll need them.

TK and Kari looked at each other before looking at the others. "Be safe you two." Kari told Davis and Xeno.

"Don't worry about us, we can handle some prehistoric lizards." Xeno remarked.

"Good luck Kari." Davis grinned.

Kari nodded as she and TK followed after Kagome with Gatomon and Patamon following as well.

"Couldn't I have gone with them?" Jun asked.

"Don't worry Jun, I'll protect you." Larbamon said.

As the Tyrannomon began to move closer to them.

"Alright, Cody, Yolei suit up." Davis told them

"Digi Armor Energize!" all three shouted.

The symbol of Courage appears in stream of data which where both Veemon and the Digimental of Courage appears as well

"Veemon armor digivolve to!" Said as he and the digi egg meet in the middle of the symbol of Courage.

Veemon is then encased in flames as the images of the Agumon evolution line (Agumon, Greymon, Metalgreymon, WarGreymon.) as Hawkmon's body changes in the flames taking shape.

Then blades extended from Veemon's new body, hands, and head freeing him from flames revealing his new form.

"Flamedramon the Fires of Courage." As Flamedramon said as flames burst in the background.

The symbol of Love appears in stream of data which where both Hawkmon and the Digimental of Love appears as well

"Hawkmon armor digivolve to!" Said as he and the digi egg meet in the middle of the symbol of Love.

Hawkmon is then encased in wind as the images of the Biyomon evolution line (Biyomon, Birdramon, and Garudamon.) as Hawkmon's body changes in the wind taking shape.

Then blades extended from Hawkmon's new body, hands, and head freeing him from wind revealing his new form.

"Halsemon the Wings of Love." As Halsemon said as a hurricane blew in the background

The symbol of Knowledge appears in stream of data which where both Armadillomon and the Digimental of Knowledge appears as well

"Armadillomon armor digivolve to!" Said as he and the digi egg meet in the middle of the symbol of Knowledge

Armadillomon is then encased in stone as the images of the Tentomon evolution line (Tentomon, Kabuterimon, Metgakabuterimon) as Armadilomon's body changes in stone taking shape.

Then drills smashed from Armadillomon's new body, hands, and head freeing him from the stone and revealing his new form.

"Digmon the Drill of Power." As Digmon said the rocks appear behind him.

Nikko reverted to her true form ready for battle

"Nobu, any chance you have something up your sleeve?" Mana asked

"Well, my partner Digimon is probably with my mother, unfortunately." Nobu said

"Wow, smooth move mom." Sai groaned.

"Don't worry he's right here." Alice smiled as Gammamon was on her shoulder, the cute Ceratopsian Digimon was radiating such a childish innocence

"Cute, but shouldn't he be helping them?" Tai said point at the scene. "Damn it, I feel so useless fighting and we can't do anything! How can we call ourselves Digidestined if we can't even help our friend!" Tai dropped to his knees and punched the floor.

"Tai…" Sora muttered, placing a hand on her boyfriend's shoulder.

"Join the fricken club, we also wonder about that as well and also feel useless." Holo Namine smiled

"All we can do is sit here and hope they make it out ok." Holo Xion scowled.

"And in fairness, Xion both you and Namine did get brainwashed during your third year." Holo Kairi smirked

"Don't bring that up, I hate being reminded of being nothing but a slave to that monster." Holo Xion closed her eyes.

"Well neither of you would have been in that situation if you just forsake the Obelisk Blue. I mean damn your Pride." Holo Kairi said "But that's what you both get."

"You bitch, that Dorm wasn't just about pride, it represented the pride of the Egyptian God, how it feels to have the good you were raised your whole life to be sullied by some maniac fortune teller who was nothing more than a meat puppet to a corrupted light?" Holo Xion said.

"I mean you both have a point but you should have just let Jaden done it." Holo Kairi yawned

"And it was fathers school, I hated how that light was able to ruin that dorm." Holo Kisara frowned. "I… I lost too, however my Blue-Eyes protected me from the Light but I was left in a coma with the light my Blue-Eyes fighting inside of me."

"And that would make me the only one woman among us who was never brainwashed alongside Mana." Holo Kairi smirked

"I remember when I was fighting Saritorous in space, I heard your voice and Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon appeared and destroyed that Satellite alongside Hassleberry and Neos." Jaden told Holo Kisara.

"Hmph, my Spirit Dragon finished the job." Holo Kisara said with pride.

Jaden smiled "Thanks anyway Kisara." Jaden said

The group was fighting Herds of Tyrannomon and were holding them off so far.

"Fire Rocket!" Flamedramon shouted as his fists ignited before punching the air and firing three fireballs

"Blaze Blast." Tyrannomon roared as he fired a blast of fire intercepting the fireballs

"Tempest Wing." Halsemon shouted as he spun his body before firing off a hurricane at them

Tyrannomon was pushed back by the attack, almost falling over.

"Rock Cracking." Digmon aid as he dug his drills into the ground creating a fissure to which the fallen Tyrannomon stumbled into, trying to get out of

"Lightning Fire." Nikko roared as she fired a stream of holy flames at the Tyrannomon that was being ridden by the Digimon Emperor.

The Emperor braced himself as Tyannomon countered with a stream of flames himself, the two attacks collided before they cancel each other out.

'Tch, normal my attack would have won that, this world is making it weaker.' Nikko thought

Mana watched on worried 'Come on Kagome hurry up, we can't hold on much longer.' Mana thought

"You fools don't learn, it was foolish for you to challenge me." the Digimon Empeor gloated.

"Will you shut up already?" Xeno said, loading his gun, before pointing it at the "If you can't kill the minions then you kill the master."

"Hmph, I don't think so." the Digimon Emperor smirked.

"Fist of the Beast King!"

Xeno turned and was barely able to evade a fire attack in the shape of a lionhead, burning the back of his tail coat.

"What the fuck…" Xeno said as he casually took off his jacket and waved it around putting out the flame before putting it back out.

Everyone looked to see two digimon, one was a humanoid lion and the other some kind of troll.

"Who are those two?" Davis questioned.

"Leomon and Ogremon." Nobu answered.

"No! Not Leomon and Orgemon too." Joe said, saddened that two of their friends were now slaves.

"Grr! I can't just sit here!" Tai said, taking out his digivice before Jaden grabbed his hand.

"If it comes down to this, I'll go down myself." Jaden said

"Those are our friends in that battle." Tai shouted.

"Tai what will you do when you get there?" Matt questioned.

"I don't know…." Tai gritted his teeth.

"I think I have an idea on why he's using them right now." Jaden said "Kikyo can you take over for me?" he asked

"What do you have in mind?" Kikyo asked.

"I'm going to free them from those rings with my own claws." Jaden said with a look of conviction.

"I selected these two digimon to bring an end to you." he said looking at both Davis and Xeno.

"Tch, I'm not scared of an overgrown house cat or an ugly old troll." Xeno scoffed.

"You be careful, these two are no slouches when it comes to combat." Impmon warned Xeno.

Davis turned to Leomon before turning back to the emperor. "Don't you have honor? Using slaves to fight your battles? It's the tactic of a coward" Davis mocked, pointing at the Emperor.

"You dare call me a coward, Leomon, Ogremon kill those two." the Digimon Emperor ordered.

Leomon and Orgemon stepped forward while Davis and Xeno got into their fighting stances.

"Those two aren't really going to fight them right?" Yolei questioned out loud wondering if Davis and Xeno were crazy.

"Yep, looks like it." Mana groaned

At that time Kagome and the others continued their search for the Digimentals

"Hmm." Kagome muttered as she turned back to where the others where

"Is something the matter?" Catona asked

"No, nothings wrong," Kagome said

"That's a lie." Catona frowned.

Kagome sighed "I sensed two more presences at the at the battle, they're tainted as well, most likely tainted by those Dark Rings." Kagome said "Also…I sensed that Jaden is heading towards the site of the battle."

"Good, then Jaden can help the others hold out until we return." TK said.

"Jaden's powers much like my own are weakened when entering this world, he'll be able to hold his own but over time it'll start to catch up with him." Kagome explained.

"Then let's not waste any more time." Gatomon said.

"How much farther are the Digimentals?" Patamon asked.

"Not much further, just a 5 minute walk from here." Kagome answered

"Walk, I rather run." Kari said as she moved forward, she couldn't waste time because the others were in danger, Gatomon ran after the young girl.

"Kari, please wait for us." TK said as he ran after her.

"Reckless girl." Catona said. "I like her."

"Of course you do." Kagome smiled

"Worried about her friends and boyfriend, I know you and Jaden would have done the same thing." Catona said before running after the kids.

Kagome ran after them as well "Jaden woundln't have entered unles it wa an emergency, and your right we would have done the same thing." she smiled, her opinion of Jaden being slightly better

"Hey watch the blade." Davis said as he ducked underneath Leomon's attack.

Leomon just snarled as his expression was similar to when Devimon filled him with evil

"Can't we just talk this out man to Digimon." Davis quipped backing up against a tree.

"Fist of the Beast King." Leomon roared as he launched an aura in the shape of a lion's head from its fist

Jaden quickly came and slashed down the attack with his blade as he stared down Leomon who snarled back

"I had that handled." Davis remarked.

"Don't bother I'm not doing this for you, i'm doing this to free them." Jaden countered

"I figure you would say that." Davis said not really phased by Jaden's words.

"You and Xeno, get out and help the others and i'll handle this." Jaden said

Davis nodded before leaving Jaden to deal with Leomon.

"Come on trolly, you have to do better than that." Xeno mocked as he backflipped out of the way of Ogremon's club. "Are you even trying?"

Ogremon was about to attack however Impmon jumped on his head grabbing his horns, as the enslaved Digimon tried to shake him off.

"His bicep, the Dark Ring is on his bicep." Impmon said as he tried to hold on.

Xeno saw the dark ring and nodded, as he quickly turned on his gun blade mode. "Don't worry, this won't hurt a bit." Xeno said as he charged at Ogremon and struck the Dark Ring.

The Dark Ring shattered, Ogrermon stopped shaking his head as he looked around confused.

"What? Where am I?" Ogremon questioned before looking at Xeno and Impmon who had jumped off his head."And who are you?" he asked "

"Just the ones who freed you." Xeno casually said.

"Yeah, be thankful." Impmon smirked.

"Hmm, I hate dealing with more human brats." Ogremon said in an annoyed tone.

"Yep, that's the Ogremon I know." Joe said happy that Ogremon was freed.

"Well, now we could focus on Leomon and the battle as well as the Digimentals." Kikyo said as she looked from the monitor

"I can't believe Jameser was able to free him." Sai said.

"I'm more surprised that he didn't kill the poor guy." Holo Kisara scoffed

"Probably doesn't want to get an earful from you and the others about the importance of life." Xia remarked.

"Xeni only kills when he needs to kill, seeing how Ogremon was not fighting of his own free will he chose to not kill." Sango explained.

"And yet regardless he threatens to kill the Digimon Emperor despite knowing that his heart is being manipulated, a tad hypocritical don't cha think?" Holo Namine asked

"Maybe, my son has done many things that some can be seen as hypocritical to what he says, and I can guess that Jaden is that way as well?" Sango retorted.

"In a way, difference is, Jaden admits his faults when he's confronted." Kikyo glared as she continue to minor the situation

"Not all the time." Alice shook her head.

"Of course you wouldn't defend him." Kikyo said "Despite everything that happened recently." she muttered under her breath

"Kikyo." Alice said walking over to the once dead Miko. "I don't give a damn how you and Jaden have your relationship, but I can chose to defend his actions and not, remember you went on a revenge trip and have him tried to kill me despite what your intentions were, so I suggest you keep out of it or else I'll send you back to hell where you should have stayed."

Kikyo just gave a faint smile "Very well."

'That Miko is too much like that man.' Sango thought however she did see her point.

"Why did Jaden revive her again?" Holo Kisara questioned.

"Probably to have another bitch to bang." Holo Xion remarked.

Kikyo smirked before giggling "It was just a favor."

"Yeah and now the council owns you two now." Holo Kisara frowned.

Kari finally came across a cave and wondered if the Digimentals that Kagome sensed where inside

At that point everyone else caught up with her.

"A cave? Figures." Catona said

"Let's just hope there aren't any fire pits." Gatomon commented.

"Or any traps like last time." Patamon added

"Please don't jinx us." Kagome sighed

Everyone then entered the cave. It was completely dark inside so Kagome used some of her Reiki to create a light for them to navigate safely.

"So what are we looking for?" Catona asked.

"The Digimentals have unique shapes and a symbol on them that represent a trait." Kari explained.

"Hmm." Catona nodded, getting the picture.

While walking, Kagome suddenly stopped, causing the group to stopped.

"Don't tell me…a trap?" Gatomon asked

Kagome didn't say anything as she picked up a rock and threw it at a spot, just then the walls opened up as many arrows shot out hitting the walls followed by a hissing sound.

"Acid Arrows…" Catona said before she gave a sadistic smirk "Now this is going to be fun."

"Oh great another crazy human." Gatomon muttered.

"I'm not like that boy, you talk about me like that I'll strip you of one of those nine lives." Catona threatened.

"She will do that." Kagome sadly nodded "Rules for dealing with Catona don't call her the H word, always be respectful to her and her family regardless of how some of them act, and don't curse in front of small children."

"She sounds just like Xeno's mom." Kari commented.

"Yes and your friend nearly cross the line when he called me a hag." Catona snarled "I could tolerate that from my grandson cause i hear it often and i always discipline him in return but not from a delinquent with no respect for his elders."

"Catona, can we continue please." Kagome asked

"Yes we need to hurry." Catona nodded. "Think you can use your powers to get us through?"

"I'm not sure if my powers will work, cause when we trekked through that temple, the Digimon were stripped of most of their abilities, Tentomon and Biyomon couldn't even fly. Whoever hid the Digimentals wanted to make sure that no Digimon could get to them." Kagome said.

"You got to try, Davis and the others might not last much longer." Kari said.

Kagome sighed "Fine." as she closed her eyes and concentrate real hard

A bright light began to engulf everyone and they were encased in an orb of light which traveled through the cave.

"I'm not sure how long I can hold this, let's move fast." Kagome said, trying to keep her concentration.

The group began to walk with the barrier protecting them,as the arrows fired at them, the acid hissing as Kagome struggled to keep it up.

"Just a bit further Kagome, we're almost through." Catona told the girl.

"Gahhh." Kagome muttered as she began to lose concentration but still kept her focus

The barrier began to crack as the acid began to eat away at it, a arrow broke through Kari turning seeing the arrow flying at her luckily Catona grabbed her arm pulling the girl out of the way, soon they reached the end and Kagome fell to her knees as the barrier shattered into pieces.

"Ahh…. ahh..." Kagome breathed heavily.

"That was something." Catona said, before looking down at Kagome. "You ok?"

"Yeah…I just need a rest." Kagome said before fainting into Catona's arms

"Oh man." Catona said.

"Is she ok?" TK asked in concern.

"Nothing that a couple days' rest would do, but damn it'll be tough explaining this to Jaden." Catona said

"Just say she passed out while helping us get to Digimentals." Gatomon said.

"Yeah, the best thing to tell is the truth." Kari added.

"True." Catona smiled, as she helped Kagome onto her back. "With her unconscious this will be very difficult going forward."

"Let's go." Kari said as she led the way with everyone else following after.

Jaden dodge Leomons blade and aimed his blade at the Dark Ring on Leomon's left arm, however Leomon suddenly lowered his upper body before sweeping his leg underneath Jaden. He than prepared to impale him but Jaden quickly kicked the blade out of his hands before he made a backflip and regain momentum

"Dear god, for a Champion Digimon he's actually tough." Jaden muttered before he acvtiavted the communication function on his bracelet (Hey Tai, why didn't you tell me he's tough)

(you didn't ask) Tai retorted. (and Leomon is one of the best combat Digimon I know, I'm actually surprised to see him reborn after 4 years.)

(Wait, what do you mean?) Jaden asked as he kicked Leomon but he ducked before striking to which Jaden avoided it

(I make this short, Leomon who had gained the power to Digivolve was deleted during our battle with the Dark Masters. And he probably ended up in the Primary Garden and he was reborn, but I'm not sure if he has any memory at all.) Tai explained.

(Well he's got the combat skills) Jaden said as he ducked before backfipping away (call you back)

Jaden groaned as he stared down his opponent who got into a fighting stance

Jaden just smiled "He definitely has the Pride of a Lion and a warrior that's for sure." Jaden said "Wonder how the others are doing?" he wondered out loud

"Out of my way!" a voice came as Ogremon appeared and knocked Leomon away from Jaden.

"Woah." Jaden whistled "You don't see that everyday."

"Don't take this the wrong way." Ogremon dismissed as he glared at Leomon who stood up. "I've been waiting years to settle my score with Leomon, and I'm not letting a Dragon take that away from me."

(Leomon and Ogremon were once rivals, but they soon developed mutual respect each other later down the line, Ogremon is only saying that to sound tough.) Joe told Jaden.

"Is that you little brat? Ogremon said recognizing Joe's voice.

Leomon immediately got up and was ready to continue. "Save the reunion for later right now, we need to free Leomon." Jaden told Ogremon.

"Hmm, no point in beating him if he doesn't have that justice thing he talks about." Ogremon remarked, readying his club.

Meanwhile back with the others, the Tyrannomon have slowly began to overwhelm the Digidestined and Nikko has since reverted back to chibi form and Mana is taking care of her.

"This is bad." Mana said.

"I know right" Nikko huffed, of course in her chibi form she just looked more adorable, but right now the situation wasn't the time the point it out

"Larbamon isn't anything you can do?" Jun asked.

"I can't digivolve Jun." Larbamon said with shame.

"The least you could do is be moral support at the moment." Mana sadly said

A Tyannomon slashed at Halsemon who took the hit, as he fell to the ground dedigivolving back into Hawkmon.

"Ow my feather." Hawkmon groaned.

"Hawkmon!" Yolei shouted in fear.

Digmon was barely standing up as he fell to his knees before dedigivolving back into Armadillomon.

"I am popped." Armadillomon muttered.

Flamedramon was the only one still standing as the Tyannomon who was caring the Digimon Empeor walked movered from.

"Crush him!" the Digimon Empeor called.

"Blaze Blast." Tyrannomon roared a he fired a blast of fire at Flamedramon

Flamedramon attempted block the attack but in his wekaned state it overpowered him causing him to dedigivolved back to Veemon

"Damn…." Veemon said as he slowly got to his feet. "I'm not done…"

The Tyrannomon was about to crush him under it's foot.

"Veemon." Davis called out, as he ducked in and pulled Veemon out of the way of the attack. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, just need a bit…" Veemon quipped.

"You're a fool to challenge." the Digimon Empeor gloated.

Xeno stood behind the Tyannomon and looked at his gun before looking at Impmon. "Hey. I got an idea to knock him off his pedestal." Xeno told Impmon.

"Hmmm." Impmon muttered.

Davis glared up at the Digimon Emperor as Tyrannomon began to draw closer to him and Veemon, suddenly gun fire could be heard as the ground beneath Tyrannomon was encased in ice.

"What?!" the Digimon Emperor said as Tyrannomon began to close his place with the emperor trying to hang on.

"Freeze bullet." Xeno said as he grabbed onto Impmon and threw him at the emperor with all his strength."

"Hey!" Impmon shouted as he kicked the Digimon Emperor in the back, knocking him off the dinosaur's back as he fell face first on the ground.

"Alright, Xeni!" Xia cheered.

"Pretty clever." Holo Xion commented. "I had no idea that kid could make freeze bullets."

"He really is uncle Xeno's counterpart." Holo Kisara said.

"He had a clear shot though, he could shot one in the back of his head as he was monologuing." Sai remarked.

"But what about the Tyrannomon?" Holo Namine pointed out. "They are still outnumbered."

'Come on, Kagome, where are you guys?' Alice thought.

They made it further into the cave, they were met with pit traps, flamethrowing, and poison gas chambers but luckily they were still alive.

"This is getting very intense." Patamon sighed.

"Intense? Try not to drop an unconscious person on your back through most of that stuff." Catona said, gesturing to the unconscious Kagome on her back. "I should have just stayed behind while you two moved on ahead."

"I think we're at the end." Kari said, as she spotted a stone door but it seemed to have multiple colored symbols in a circle on it with two in light pink and the other in yellow.

"Won't you look at that." TK said as he walked over to the door. "It's all the crest symbols, but there's a few I don't recognize."

"The traits you mentioned?" Catona asked Kari.

"Yeah." Kari nodded as she saw her' and TK's crests however there was one in the middle of the circle that piqued her interest, she took out her camera and took a picture of it. "Something for Jaden and Izzy to look over when we return."

"We can't waste anymore time, how do we get the door opened?" Gatomon asked.

"Try your Digivices." Catona suggested

TK and Kari looked at each other and nodded, they both took out their digivices, the crests of Light and Hope began to glow brightly, just then the door began to lift up revealing a large room.

Inside the room were two objects on top of a stone slab sticking out of the walls

One of the objects was a bulky, egg-shaped object with what appears to be ears on top and a tuft of fur on it. On it was the Crest of Hope.

The other object was also a bulky, egg-shaped object only it was more rectangular and it had what appeared to be cat paws sticking out from the bottom. On it was the Crest of Light

"So those are the Digimentals." Catona said as she observed them.

Suddenly bright pink and green lights began to dance around the room, Kari and TK looked at their Digivices which began to change shape, they looked similar to the other kids Digivices, only Kari's grip was pink and TK's was green.

"Our Digivices." TK said in awe.

"They're the same as Davis and the others." Kari said in surprise

"Now this is interesting." Catona said

"Then they must be for you two." Gatomon surmised.

"Yeah, go ahead and try it." Patamon said.

"But we already have our own Digimon." Kari said.

"Just do it kiddo, we wasted enough time as is." Catona said.

Seeing Catona's point, the kids turned to the pedestals, reached out and removed them without effort.

"We did it." Kari said.

(Catona can you hear us?) Alice's voice said from Kari's bracelet. (Have you found the Digimentals?)

"Yeah, we have, however Kagome is out of commission, she used her powers to their limit to get us past a trap." Catona told Alice.

(she ok?) Alice asked.

"Yeah, just unconscious, think you can open a portal for the two of us to get back?" Catona asked.

(Sure, but we have a problem, the others are getting overwhelmed. They need you there now.) Alice told them.

(The Digimon Emperor has Leomon under his control, Ogremon and Jaden are doing their best to free him.) Izzy informed me.

"Leomon?!" Kari and TK gasped.

(Hurry up, they can't hold on much longer and Jaden's at his limits due to this world.) Alice said

A portal opened up before Catona who looked at the kids. "Hurry and help the others." Catona said as she stepped through.

Kari looked at TK who nodded. "Digi Armor Energize!" both called out.

(Digi Armor Energize Sequence)

The symbol of Hope appears in stream of data which where both Patamon and the Digimental of Hope appears as well

"Patamon armor digivolve to!" Said as he and the digi egg meet in the middle of the symbol of Hope

Patamon is then engulfed in light as the images of the his own evolution line (Angemon, MagnaAngemon) as Patamon's body began to change

Wings than spread out as Pegasusmon broke free from the light

"Pegasusmon, Flying Hope" As Pegasusmon neighed just as shooting stars appeared

The symbol of Light appears in a Stream of data which where both Gatomon and the digimental of Light appeared

"Gatomon, Armor Digivolved to." said as she and the digi egg meet in the middle of the symbol of light

Gatomon was engulfed in bright pink light a the image of her evolutionary line (Angewomon) as Gatomon's body began to change

Wings than spread out as Nefertimon broke free from the Light

"Nefertimon, the Angel of Light" as Nefertimon stood just as rainbow lights appeared

"Ahh…" both kids uttered in amazement.

---

Meanwhile back with the team, Mana, Cody, Jun, Yolei and their Digimon were near the edge of cliff as the Tyrannomon drew near, at that time the Digimon Emperor slowly got to his feet however he felt someone grab the color of his shirt.

"Hey!" Davis said with a glare as he punched the emperor in the face knocking him back to the ground. "Let's see how tough you are without hiding behind something."

Davis however felt a punch that knocked him back, when he saw who punched him he saw that it was Stingmon

"You!" Davis frowned, he should have thought of the the bug digimon would be nearby

"Grr! That sticking bug!" Xeno growled as darkness poured out of him suddenly his digivice began to beep.

Jaden suddenly sensed it 'Hmm, goddamit.' Jaden thought before glaring at Leomon 'I'll have to end this fast.'

Ogremon roared and swung his club at Leomon who blocked it with his blade, pushing Ogremon away, the green Ogremon unleashed his Pummel Whack at Leomon who countered Fist of the Beast King the two attacks collided resulting in a small explosion, kicking up a smoke cloud.

Ogremon covered his face from the smoke, just as Leomon jumped out and delivered a kick to the ogre digimon's chest knocking him to the ground, the lion backflipping landing on his feet.

"Ugh, and used to like it when he was under evil control." Orgemon growled, rubbing his chest.

Jaden then quickly assumed his dragon form and started counting down as he flew at Leomon who initiated his Fist of the Beast King attack, this time as a punch

'3' Jaden continued counting down as he narrowly avoided the punch just before Leomon could initiated his True Beast-King Fist with his other fist,

'2' Jaden continued as swiped at his left arm, shattering the dark Ring.

'1' Jaden finished

"Hmm, huh?" Leomon looked around, before looking at his hands. "I'm free…"

"Yeah you are." Ogremon said.

"Yeah, you were tough." Jaden admitted

"Hmm, I feel a darkness over there." Leomon turned to where the kids were.

"Not too surprising as the others are still fighting." Jaden said as he flew towards the battle

Davis stood back up and wiped his mouth. "Are you done hiding behind people? Or are you going to fight your own fight?" Davis questioned, not even scared. "Bully's always hide behind something when they are too cowardly to face me in a fight."

"Enough of this." the Digimon Emperor frowned, before he turned to Xeno and was surprised to see wisps of darkness floating around his body.

'Jamerser?' Davis thought something inside him was telling him that this wasn't good.

Impmon looked at Xeno who was showing signs of darkness. 'Good, if his darkness is pushed to the edge, It will be a great opportunity.' Impmon said as he could feel his power rising.

Holo Catona had just returned to the real world with the unconscious Kagome "What's going on here?" Holo Catona asked

"My brother." Xion said as she looked at the screen.

"What a surprise." Kikyo muttered as she monitored the situation. "The dark spore inside him is rising."

"Not just that, Impmon seems to be getting stronger." Izzy checked the screen. "I think… he's starting to Digivolve."

Kikyo narrowed her eyes "I hope for your sakes that he knows what he's doing." Kikyo said "Otherwise there might be another funeral soon if something happens."

Alice just glared at Kikyo who glared back, as she took the unconscious Kagome to the infirmary with Sakura following after since she was a doctor and wanting to see if Kagome was alright.

"Enough of this, Stingmon kill these two." the Digimon Emperor said, turning his attention away from Xeno and Impmon focusing more on Davis and Veemon.

Stingmon nodded however before he could move forward Impmon appeared and drop kicked the champion in the side of the head, him stumbling back.

The rookie digimon landed on his feet as darkness swirled around him. "Ahahahahah…. Hahahahahah, now this is power." Impmon said with a sinister smirk.

Xeno as his Digivice began to shine. "What?" Xeno arched an eyebrow.

"What is this." the Digimon Emperor questioned. "No it can't be…"

Impmon clenched as fist as Darkness engulfed him and his body began to take on a different shape. "Impmon Digivolve to… Devimon!"

In Impmon's place was a vampire bat like digimon, he wore the same scarf that Impmon had around his neck with blood red fingerless gloves. "Ahh! This feels good." Devimon groaned, cracking his neck with his left hand.

"It's Devimon." Tai muttered. "Impmon digivolves into Devimon?"

"Not a really fond memory." Sora commented.

"You battle a digimon like him before?" Catherine asked.

"Yeah, and it wasn't easy to win either." Matt said remembering how strong Devimon was and it took Patamon Digivolving into Angemon to defeat him but at the cost of sacrificing himself.

"Curious, how was he able to digivolve though?" Izzy questioned more on how Impmon was able to do so if the Digimon Emperor prevented it.

"Who knows." Alice said as she glared at the screen

"I just hope he's still on their side." Sango commented.

"Impossible, you shouldn't be able to Digivolve!" The Digimon Emperor exclaimed.

"You're dealing with a Digimon little brat, this world is filled with impossibilities." Devimon said as he grinned at Stingmon. "Now, I think it's time I squash you." he said, cracking his knuckles.

"A little help over here!" Yolei called out.

"Master, we should go." Stingmon advised

"Tch." The Digimon Emperor scoffed.

"You aren't going anywhere." Devimon remarked, attempting to attack the Digimon Emperor

Stingmon however intercepted him, surprising Devimon "I'll say this, the two of you just partnered up for selfish reasons. I'm with him in hopes that the kind boy that I once knew will return." Stingmon said as he left

"Cry me a river." Devimon said unimpressed.

"Fuck, they got a way." Xeno frowned.

"You ok Davis?" Veemon asked.

"I'm fine, but… he could have killed me…" Davis said.

Unknown to them Jaden was watching and heard everything that Stingmon told Devimon which further cement what Kikyo told him as he narrowed his eye at the boy

"Squirt!" Jun called out to Davis.

"Oh crap, the others." Davis remembered.

"Hmm." Xeno frowned, turning to the cliff. "Clear them out." he told Devimon.

Devilmon simply huffed however before he could do anything, a golden light wrapped around the Tyrannomon

"Uh? Look." Cody said pointing up, everyone saw both TK and Kari riding two unknown digimon

"A pegasus and sphinx that's something you don't see everyday." Xeno commented.

"Not for us." Mana commented

"But good timing," Davis smirked, happy that both Kari and TK were able to make it.

"Star Shower!"

"Rosetta Stone!"

Both Digimon unleashed their respective attacks and struck all of the Tyannomon destroying the Dark Rings, the Tyannomon looked around confused by what had happened.

"Took them long enough." Jun frowned.

"Be grateful that they arrived." Nobu remarked.

TK and Pegasus looked around until they saw Devimon. "Devimon!" TK gasped.

"What is he doing here?" Pegasusmon demanded.

"He's Impmon's evolved form." Jaden said as he appeared

"And where were you, old man?" Xeno demanded.

"Mind your manners hatchling." Jaden said, his voice taking on Dragon Jaden's tone

"Hmm, interesting." Devimon muttered. "It would seem that you have a touch of evil within you."

"I'm well aware of that." Jaden said as he calmed down

"I'm glad all of you are ok." Leomon said as he and Ogremon walked over to them.

"I wasn't worried at all, I didn't even care." Ogremon said in a dismissive tone.

"Yeah, I really believe that." Kari grinned, knowing Orgemon was trying to not show his caring side.

"Where's grandma and Kagome?" Mana asked the two.

"Oh, Kagome exhausted herself earlier trying to get us through so your grandma took her back to the real world." Kari explained

"Yeah, the place had acid arrows, pit falls, flamethrowers." TK listed off.

"Okay I get the picture." Jaden said as he raised his hand

"Speaking of pictures, I have something that I think you and Izzy would like to see." Kari told him.

"What?" Jaden asked

Kari took off her camera and showed Jaden the image of the circle of crests. "I recognize our crests but some of the others are ones I've never seen before." Kari explained.

"Yeah these are definitely Crests." Jaden said, remembering the exchange of information that he and Sakura did, although the information he has on them is limited "Nobu, you recognized any of these?" Jaden asked as he showed him.

"Hmm, this one right here." Nobu pointed at the flower shaped one. "This is the crest of Kindness." he then looked over to the crescent shaped moon. "This is the crest of Darkness."

"Crest of Darkness?" TK asked in surprise.

"Hey, what's that one in the center of them?" Jun asked.

"My mom is more equipped to tell you about them." Nobu told them.

Davis however wasn't paying attention as he rubbed his check. "Are you fine?" Xeno questioned.

"Yeah… I'm just thinking… Stingmon could have killed me." Davis said flatly.

"What else is new?" Yolei said. "Everything in this world is trying to kill us."

"No! I mean he 'could' have killed me." Davis glared. "A digimon as strong as him could have done more damage or could have knocked my head off my shoulders, he held back so much power."

"Now that you mention it, when he kicked me he could cause internal bleeding or break my ribs but I was only sore for a day." Xeno remarked.

"Well he did said that he was fighting for a purpose." Jaden said "In hopes that one day that the kind boy that he once knew would return."

"Tch, and what happens if a kind boy tells his pet to take the gloves off?" Xeno questioned.

"You're not getting the picture, he's the partner Digimon." Mana said

"I care not for it he's a partner or not." Xeno said as he began to walk away from the group. "Come Devimon, all this fighting has made me hungry."

"Hmm, I could go for a chocolate bar right now." Devimon said as he dedigivolved back into Impmon before following Xeno.

"He did bring up a good point." Leomon told them. "A purpose or not the Digimon Emperor is a threat to our world, if he does end up killing one of you, what action will you or Stingmon do?"

Jaden sighed "At times like this you really wish the Supreme Council were here." Jaden said, knowing what his answer would be "Right Mana?" he asked his sister

"No, I don't like getting in the middle of politics." Mana shook her head. "But even I know one thing about you, you can't bring yourself to kill a kid, whether you say it or not."

Jaden grinned "And what makes you so sure of that?" Jaden smirked

"Cause you would have killed Xeno and Impmon by now." Mana answered calmly.

Jaden's eyes widened, surprised that Mana knew him so well "I'm going back to the real world." Jaden said

"You all should go home, now that we're free we can start gathering forces to combat the Emperor, and if anything turns up we'll report it to you." Leomon told them.

"Thanks Leomon, we're happy that you and Orgemon are free." Kari smiled.

"Pfff." Ogremon muttered. "Just get out of here."

"He sure is a softie." Mana muttered to TK

"He just can't admit that he likes us." TK grinned.

(Chaos Breakers Ocean Base)

In his fortress, during his spare time, Chaos Breaker has been keeping himself by experimenting on some Digimon that he've acquire

"Interesting." Chaos Breaker muttered as he scanned the data from his experiments "Despite being composed of data, they've been around for centuries in this world, perhaps even since the beginning of time. Living in an alternate dimension." Chaos Breaker said

"It is indeed an incredible master, and they are very much most of the Kaiju back on Cray." Reiko said looking at the data. "You mentioned this Interspace which Humans created back during the war between the Neathians and Gundailian."

"Ah, but that's just it, they are kaiju." Chaos Breaker said, shocking and surprising Reiko

"They are Kaiju? I thought the Digimon were different compared to the Kaiju?" Reiko asked.

"They eventually adapted to the changes and becoming visible to humans due to them inventing computers and digital technology. Originally they would need to use magic or sorcery. "That's enough everyone just leave." Alice stepped up knowing this would go on forever.

With nothing more to say the Digidestined and their digimon left the room.

"Pocket dimensions opening, the digital barrier. breaking being turned into data particles, me and my husband did it before however…" Sakura trailed off. "Anyway, I won't stop you but you need to tread carefully if you breach the dimensional barriers."

"I see, but right now the Japanese Government has placed me and my family under your care and should anything happen they could quickly take it away and make us a priority threat. I could retrieve the equipment needed but that would jeopardize the fragile relationship we have with the Government." Jaden said

"I understand that, but it's not just you who needs to worry, it's also the kids." Sakura told them.

"The kids? What do you mean?" Jaden said, surprised by what he's hearing as was Keith and Kikyo

"As you know, my branch of the government deals with Digimon and they are 'wary' of kids and teenagers wielding beasts from another world with powers to destroy an entire city." Sakura said.

"And the Kaiju?" Keith asked

"Yes, since Gururumon escaped and that battle you all had with Chaos Breakers minions they are beginning to lose faith in me to keep things in control." Sakura informed.

"I see, what's the worse case scenario?" Kikyo asked

"I'm replaced and the kids and their digimon are brought in and registered with the government as child soldiers." Sakura scowled.

Jaden's claws dug deeply into his hands as he made a fist causing them to bleed at what he just heard "How many branches are there and what does each Branch specialze in?" Jaden asked

"Too many, unknown to the original digidestined there are many Digidestined around the world with Digimon of their own, and several branches have been established to keep watch over them if something goes wrong." Sakura answered.

"So this is Japan's branch of the Government, it's not a Japanese issue? It's actually a worldwide issue?" Jaden said

"Yes, it's an international organization that specializes in Digimon, and thanks to you, Kaiju have been appearing as well, but not everyone is on board with this idea. There are many branches that don't agree with using children as soldiers." Sakura said.

"You never told them this?" Holo Mana asked.

"There are some things that I can't let you know as much as there are things that you won't let me know." Sakura replied.

"Speaking of which, can you tell us about the other crests?" Holo Catona asked.

"I only know of two of them when I get home. I'll research the others." Sakura said

"This crest right here is bothering me." Jaden said as he looked at the crests on the computer, particularly the one in the center of all of them.

The next day it was lunch time, Davis, Xeno, Kari, Xion and Catherine were eating.

Kanako turned to Yolei. "And you shouldn't argue in the lunchroom, Jaden put in a good word for you so don't make me regret putting you back on the student council."

School was finally over and the group left for their houses

Jaden was at the grocery store picking up food and supplies when he ran into Sango much to both of their dismay "Great." Jaden said

"Pretty good all things considered, Xia is constantly asking me when am I going to get my own deck." Sango laughed. "Xion is pretty much fine, and Xeno… he seemed depressed probably cause he didn't get to kill the Digimon Emperor."

"Probably, Did you watch the monitor on what Stingmon said to them?" Jaden asked

"Yes, the reason Xeno and Impmon are willing to work together is for selfish reasons, while Stingmon is holding out hope to see his partner return to his old self." Sango said.

"And what do you make of it?" Jaden asked

"For Xeni, I can't defend him or Impmon, however this isn't the first time I heard of two forces joining together for selfish reasons throughout history there are cases of that happening." Sango said. "But Xeni is balanced by Xion, and his friends, which means the Digimon Emperor doesn't have anyone to balance out his darkside."

"I see, it's refreshing talking to you." Jaden admitted

"Thanks, it's fine talking to you as well, sometimes it's best to talk things out rather than punching." Sango smirked.

Today was a Saturday so there was no school this time so all the digidestined decided to head over to Jaden's house while Sango tag along with her children while Sakura and Haruka tagged with Nobu

Jaden grinned as clicked a couple of keys on the keyboard and Holo Mana's clothes turned into a maid outfit "If by complication other than me regaining control of my system as well as doing this." Jaden said as he smack his own sisters ass "Than nothing else."

"Hey you motherfucker!" Holo Mana shouted with a deep blush on her face as she attempted to kicked him but Jaden grabbed her leg. "You asshole!"

"Nice panties." Jaden teased

"Is he really doing that to his own sister?" Tai frowned.

"It's how they communicate with each other." Kagome frowned feeling her headache getting worse.

Suddenly Holo Catona came in and grabbed both of them by the ears.

"Jaden." Alice shouted

The screen turned off but it was showing traces of static. "Who… is… what?" a female voice spoke but the static made her hard to understand.

"Dharak." Jaden said

Fabia used the DNA signatures of the various Bakugan/Kaiju hybrids to send out a dimensional message to their world. "There, I'm not sure when she'll get it, you can never tell when you're sending Phantom Data." Fabia told them.

"Well, in that case before we start the next duel." Jaden said as he program Holo Xion's clothing to become a maid outfit
