Flora dragged herself out of Icy's snowdrift, groaning.
'Roxy…?' She blinked, trying to regain sight, but there was nothing. Just darkness.
She followed them… Nature whispered, and Flora's entire body tensed up.
'Oh no…' She had to help Roxy, but she couldn't do anything blind. 'Fairy Dust!' She summoned her fairy dust bottle, pouring the shimmering powder over her darkened eyes, hissing as her sight returned in an agonising onslaught of light.
Not having time to wallow in pain or refocusing her vision, she sprinted across to where Naomi was frozen in Icy's frost.
'Winter's End!' She combined the spell with her fairy dust, and Naomi dropped to the ground, shaking from the cold.
'…F-f-f-f*#k th-th-th-them…' she stammered.
'Pretty much,' Flora muttered, helping her to her feet. 'C'mon! Roxy's gone after the Trix and the Lilo, and she's gonna need our help!'
'Cause we were so helpful just now,' Naomi muttered dryly, taking to the air nonetheless, still trembling. 'Where are we going?'
'This way,' Flora said confidently. 'Nature knows where she's going.'
'So this Voice of Nature thing…' Naomi started. 'Is it like an eco GPS?' Flora shrugged.
'Kinda.' She winced as she saw Naomi was flagging behind, her weaker wings unable to keep up with Flora's Enchantix. 'Naomi, do you trust me?' Naomi glanced at her uncertainly, before nodding.
'Weird as it is, yeah. Why?'
'Turn into a mouse.'
'What the heck?'
'Please!' Naomi stared at her like she was insane, but she did it anyway, her body glowing pink and shrinking into the small furry form of a mouse. Flora quickly scooped her out of the air, clutching her in her hands.
'Hold on! We're gonna go fast!' Naomi squeaked in reply as Flora shot across Gardenia's skyline, no longer restricted by having to slow her pace for Naomi.
They quickly caught up to where Roxy was flagging behind the Trix, firing attacks that didn't even get a scratch on the witches. Flora switched Naomi to one hand, keeping her held against her shoulder, grabbing Roxy's wrist with her free hand, pulling the younger fairy ahead at a significantly increased speed, eliciting a surprised shriek, before Roxy's face broke into a grin.
'Oh, hell yeah! Now we're talking!' They started to close the gap between them and the Trix, and when Icy glanced behind her, she let out a sharp curse word upon seeing Flora zipping towards her.
'Mystic Talons!' Roxy cried, this time managing to do a little damage as the attack slashed across Icy's leg, the witch leaving a crimson trail behind her as she tried to outfly the Enchantix fairy.
As they reached the coastline, the Trix switched to their dark Sirenix forms, tentacles bursting from their backs as they dove.
Naomi hopped off Flora's shoulder, shifting back to her fairy form and hovering over the water.
'Naomi!' Roxy wrapped her in a relieved hug. 'You're okay!'
'Be relieved later; get the Trix now!' Naomi cried.
'Magic Winx! Sirenix!' Flora transformed into Sirenix, diving underwater after the Trix.
'Uh, air breather here!' Roxy called. 'What do I do?' Naomi shrugged.
'You're the saviour of Earth, Roxy. You'll figure it out.' Before she could build on that, Naomi dropped into the water, her legs shifting into a shimmering purple tail.
'Wait, what?!' Roxy exclaimed. 'You can turn into a mermaid?! Why did you not say that sooner?!'
'You didn't ask!' Naomi dove after Flora, her tail beating as hard as it could. Flora grabbed her hand, pulling her after her as they shot after the Trix.
'Lotus Flower!' The Trix had to scatter to avoid the attack, and Naomi took the opportunity to hit Icy with her own attack.
'That was for insulting my family!' She threw another attack. 'And that was just because you suck!'
'Icy!' Naomi and Flora both froze at the deep, furious voice. Flora's expression hardened as a familiar green mutant swam into sight, flanked by two mutants, a trail of toxic, choking pollution spreading out behind him.
Tritannus's face twisted in fury as he saw Icy groaning on the seafloor.
'How dare you! I will destroy you!'
'Damn…' Naomi muttered. 'Somebody's got a temper. He makes Ogron look zen.' The fairies had to avoid a bolt of pollution, swimming behind a rocky outcropping to take shelter.
'Gaia's Defence!' Flora summoned her shield, swimming out and charging straight for Darcy. 'Naomi, cover me!' It felt a little strange asking that of a girl she hadn't really had a conversation with before today, especially one who was actually the daughter of former enemies, but she was a good judge of character, so she was completely unsurprised when Tritannus and Stormy got blasted away from her.
'Give me the Lilo, Darcy!'
'Never!' Well, looked like she'd just have to take it then. With a flick of her wrist, the seaweed ensnared Darcy's ankles, dragging her down.
'Petal Hurricane!' Darcy fell back, and Flora grabbed the Lilo out of her hands, the flower struggling in the briny water. 'Don't worry, everything's gonna be okay…we'll get you somewhere safe…'
'Flora!' Flora glanced up, seeing Roxy at the surface. 'Up here!' Flora instantly swam for the surface, Naomi blasting the Trix away from her, slapping Stormy in the face with her tail.
'Aah!' She felt Icy's tentacle coil around her ankle, dragging her down. 'Nature Kick!' She jabbed her leg down into Icy's face, knocking the witch away with a cry. 'Roxy!' She held up the Lilo as Icy swam for her again, and Roxy grabbed it, flying up and away with the flower.
'No!' Icy shrieked. 'Dark Bolt!'
'Nature Punch!' The two attacks met, knocking both women back with the force of the impact.
Flora hit the sea floor, groaning. She started to open her eyes, and a scream tore its way from her throat as she saw three shining prongs of death whipping towards her neck.
'Hello…' Tritannus leered down at her, his blades slamming into the rock behind her on either side of her neck, jagged red gashes tearing in her skin. 'Well, isn't this a surprise. Having a guardian fairy writhing at my fins. Let's see how you handle when I tear those gaudy wings right off you.'
Flora's eyes widened in fear, but just as Tritannus raised a twisted, meaty hand, he cried out, hit in the back by a ball of dark energy.
'Hey!' Naomi's voice was sharp and angry. 'Wing-stealing is my family's thing. Get your own goddamn schtik.'
'Who the hell are you?!' Tritannus demanded.
'Me?' Naomi smirked. 'I'm a lot of things. Daughter of the black circle. Holder of the highest GPA in the Alfea freshman class. Surprisingly good at baking. But right now? Right now I'm the distraction.'
'Nature Punch!' Tritannus was thrown back with a crack that sickened Flora with how satisfying it was.
'Ha!' Naomi grinned. 'That was awesome. Hold on, Wallflower. I got ya.' Naomi tugged the trident out of the rock, freeing Flora with a mighty yank. 'Hm…' She spun the weapon experimentally. 'This thing is actually kinda cool…maybe I should get one.'
'My trident!' Tritannus screamed, sounding like a petulant child robbed of his favourite toy. 'Give me my trident!'
Naomi shrugged. 'Sure. Shall I give it back to you through your thorax? Or your skull?'
A twisted smile curled Tritannus's slimy green lips. 'Why don't you give it back through their skulls?' His two mutants swam up in front of him, teeth bared and claws sharpened at the ready to tear Flora and Naomi to pieces.
Both girls recoiled, and Tritannus's grin widened. 'Well, that's no way to greet the prince and princess of the oceans of Andros.'
Flora felt sick. This…this was Tressa and Nereus?!
'You psychopath!'
'Flattery won't stop the Trix getting that flower.' Tritannus's voice was thick and slimy, giving Flora a strong desire to punch this sociopath in his big, mutated teeth.
Flora glanced to Naomi, about to caution her not to hurt the mutants, but, to her bewilderment, the other fairy was grinning like a madwoman. Wow…I mean, I know she was raised by the wizards, but…that's a tad sadistic.
Naomi started to giggle. Actually giggle. Then snort. Then full on laugh. Just as Flora was wondering what the heck was wrong with her, she spoke. 'You…you are such a dumbass!'
Flora's jaw dropped, while Tritannus's eyes filled with murder. 'How dare you! I will crush you like a sea slug!'
'Yeah, whatever, dude. I'll slice you into ribbons.'
'But you won't slice them!' Tritannus roared, sending Tressa and Nereus swimming for Naomi, who just smirked.
'Like I said,' she muttered under her breath. 'Dumbass.' She grabbed Flora's hand, pulling them both up towards the surface. 'When we get topside, go Enchantix.'
Flora's eyes widened. Suddenly, this made a lot of sense. Naomi was right. Tritannus was a dumbass.
They burst through the surface of the water, Flora shouting the words the second her feet left the sea. 'Magic Winx! Enchantix!' Her wings shifted in a flash of light, and she whipped around just as Tressa and Nereus's mutated forms leapt after her. 'Fairy dust!' The delicate pink bottle appeared in her hand, and she upended it, dousing the mutated merfolk in an avalanche of shimmering pink dust.
The two immediately froze, coughing and choking as the dust surged into their lungs, over their skin, into every crack and crevice in their leathery, mutated skin. They issued cries of alarm and confusion, before, to Flora's relief, the greenish grey faded, replaced with a gentle tan. Hair burst from their scalps, and pupils reappeared in their eyes.
'What…' Tressa breathed, her voice hoarse and raspy. She held out her hands, staring at her delicate fingers, returned to their own appearance. 'We're…free?'
'Hell yeah you are,' Naomi said, flying low. 'And if you're down with it, your psycho brother is trying to steal this crazy flower from my friend, so we'd love an assist.' She tossed the trident to Nereus, who just stared at it blankly. 'This is big and pointy; have fun.'
Nereus stared up at Naomi with big, confused eyes. 'I…I don't understand.'
'Well, when ya do, Imma be in that fight over there. Later!'
Flora flew down to Tressa and Nereus as Naomi hurled herself towards where Roxy was attacking the Trix with seagulls in an attempt to keep them away from the Lilo.
'Tressa, Nereus…'
Tressa's eyes lit up with recognition. 'Flora!'
'Hi. Listen, I just used my fairy dust to free you both from Tritannus's pollution. You're free now.'
There was a moment of elated silence, before Nereus beamed, raising the trident Naomi had foisted upon him in celebration. 'Huzzah! Thank you! Thank you!'
Tressa glanced towards where Tritannus was blasting boots of pollution at Naomi, who was apparently attempting to claw his eyes out. And getting scarily close to success. Not for the first time, Flora found herself incredibly grateful that the wizards had never unleashed Naomi on her and the Winx.
'Looks like they could use some help…' the mermaid princess muttered.
Nereus spun Tritannus's trident, his gaze hardening. 'I think we're long overdue for a family chat, don't you think, Tress?'
'Oh, definitely.' The two merfolk exchanged a look, before diving beneath the surface and powering towards the fight. Flora zipped over the water above them, summoning seaweed to whip up from the sea floor and bind Tritannus's tail.
'What?!'
The distraction gave Naomi the time she needed to punch Tritannus in the face, before landing a pretty brutal kick to his solar plexus.
As Tritannus gasped for air, Tressa swam up under him, wrapping her arms around his tail and yanking as hard as she could, swimming for the surface and pulling Tritannus belly up, like a dead fish in the sun.
'Hello, brother.' Nereus swam up behind Tritannus, holding the trident to his neck. 'I believe this is yours.'
Tritannus's eyes widened. 'What?! How did you-?!'
Flora held up her fairy dust bottle. 'The only reason we couldn't free them before was that we couldn't use our fairy dust in the Infinite Ocean. Now, let's see what it can do about your whole…mutated look.' She upturned the bottle right over Tritannus's face, and he coughed and spluttered, his body shrinking and paling, his eyes turning human and his fin losing its bony protrusion.
'No! My power! My toxins!'
Flora smiled to see Tritannus reduced to his own triton form, struggling pointlessly against her seaweed and Tressa's determined grip.
Nereus looked sadly down at his brother, his grip on the trident not faltering. 'It's over, brother. I will plead for father to be merciful.'
Tritannus's face twisted with rage. 'I do not need your pity! Icy!'
The Trix turned their attention from being pecked at and trying to kill Roxy and Naomi. Icy's eyes widened in horror as she saw Tritannus back in his triton body, his own trident at his throat. 'Tritannus! Tritannus, baby, I'm coming!'
'What about the Lilo?' Darcy demanded.
'Screw the Lilo!' Icy hurled her hand out, freezing the water beneath Tritannus, encasing Tressa in an iceberg and locking Nereus in place.
'Toxic Tornado!' Stormy yelled, and the coastline became a scene of utter pandemonium as dark winds whipped at the fairies' wings. Flora tried to regain control, but just as she forced her wings to carry her, Icy grabbed Tritannus, obliterated the seaweed binding him, and swam like a forest fire was chasing her.
'Let's go!' the witch screamed. Darcy and Stormy dove after her, Stormy churning up the waters behind her to create a maelstrom no sane person would dream of navigating.
There was a rush of magic as the gate was activated, then the tornado fell away, and Roxy and Naomi fell into the water with a splash.
Naomi's head broke the surface with an indignant gasp. 'Okay, they are super annoying.'
'Definitely,' Roxy coughed. Her wings fluttered, lifting her sodden form up and out of the water. 'Do we go after them?'
Flora shook her head. 'No. We'll never catch up. And Tressa and Nereus need our help. Winter's End!' The ice around Nereus and Tressa melted, and Tressa surfaced, her expression filled with anger and pain.
'I can't believe we lost him…'
Nereus put his arm around his mournful sister. 'I can't…I can't believe what's happened to him. He's…he's so…' He trailed off, covering his mouth with his hand.
'I'm so sorry,' Naomi said quietly, putting a hand on Nereus's arm. 'Losing family, especially to their own power trip…that really sucks.'
Tressa raised an eyebrow. 'You speak as though from experience.'
Naomi shrugged, grimacing. 'Something like that. Someone will let you in on it at some point.'
About half an hour later, Naomi was lying back on the beach, watching some seagulls fight it out over a dropped ice cream. She was rooting for the one with the scar. He looked like and underdog, and if there was one thing Naomi loved, well, it was Five Finger Death Punch, but underdogs were also on the list.
'You owe me five bucks, Princess,' she said quietly as Roxy sat down next to her.
'Why are you always right?'
'I'm a pessimist.'
Roxy handed over a five dollar bill, and Naomi rolled it in her fingers. She wanted to ask. She needed to ask. She just wasn't sure she wanted the answer.
'…Were they like that?'
'Huh?' Roxy frowned. 'Were who like what?'
'My family.' Naomi sat up, tracing her finger in the sand. 'Were they like Tritannus was today? When you fought them, I mean?'
'…Oh.' Roxy sighed thoughtfully. 'I…no, not exactly. Tritannus is acting insane. They all seemed in their right minds. But…well…'
'You wouldn't have frozen them just for kicks,' Naomi finished. 'They went too far. I spent a lot of time telling myself they were doing what needed to be done, what they had to do, but…going after you…that was too far.' She turned to Roxy, her eyes more vulnerable than she would have liked. '…I'm so sorry, Roxy.'
'Their actions aren't your responsibility, Naomi.'
Naomi shook her head. 'I should have said something. Talked them down. Made them see that you weren't one of…you weren't like…'
'Weren't like what?' Roxy asked, frowning in confusion. 'And what do you mean 'what needed to be done?''
Naomi brushed the question aside, not really at a point where she thought her friend would understand her family's motivations. 'I got a lot of layers, Princess. And you haven't reached that one yet.'
'Got it.' Roxy smirked. 'You're an onion.'
Naomi rolled her eyes. 'Nah. I'm puff pastry. The good, flaky kind.'
'Goth pastry.'
'Goth pastry.'
There were a few minutes of silence while the underdog seagull came out of nowhere to win it all, as underdogs were wont to do, before Roxy spoke again. 'I gave the Lilo to my mom. She's gonna make sure Nebula gets it.'
'You're not taking it to Tir Na N'og yourself?'
Roxy flopped backwards, unconcerned by the sand now caking her hair. 'Nah. I just…I don't love Tir Na N'og. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous, and everyone is super nice. Except for some fairies that I think still kinda want to kill me. So that kinda sucks. It's just…' She sighed, running her fingers through the sand. 'I'm not their princess. I'm just their queen's kid. They're not the same. I think people keep expecting me to shed my skin and become some terrestrial warrior royal, but…well, this is all the skin I got. I think…I think that's part of why I went to Alfea. I kinda wanted to stay the pupil a bit longer. I barely had any time to get my head around all this, and now Nebula keeps making the point that she's just queen regent, and that crown is set to be mine.'
'You should just tell her to f-off,' Naomi offered, turning to look down at the animal fairy.
Roxy snorted, rolling her eyes. 'Yeah, I don't think that's acceptable.'
'Yeah, but that's what makes it so fun.'
Roxy nudged her teasingly, and Naomi grinned. 'You're a great princess, Roxy. Why do you think I call you that?'
'I kinda thought you were just being insulting, then realised you actually liked me, and it stuck.'
Naomi thought for a moment. 'Yeah, actually, that was probably it. But that doesn't make you any less good at kicking ass for your people.'
'Thanks.'
'Anytime.'
'I think that's them!' Naomi and Roxy bolted to their feet at the sound of Tressa's shout, pelting for the edge of the water where the princess was waiting with her brother and Flora.
Tressa was proven correct as a white yacht appeared on the horizon, skimming across the water towards the beach.
As it came to a stop about ten metres out, before it had even anchored, Aisha vaulted over the side, jumping down onto a Morphix platform and hopping her way over to the beach.
'Tressa! Nereus!' She leapt off the last platform, landing in the shallows with a splash, throwing her arms around her cousins. 'You guys are okay!'
'Cousin Aisha!' Tressa held on tightly to her cousin, and Nereus rapidly joined in, the three cousins finally reunited.
'Aw…' Naomi murmured. 'Well isn't that just something straight out of an after-school special?' Roxy elbowed her, and she rolled her eyes. 'What? I'm being nice.'
'And sarcastic.'
'Yeah. I'm sarcastically nice. It's one of my many lovable traits.'
After a few minutes of hugging and delighted tears, Aisha finally stepped up and onto the beach, her hair still bouncy even when wet (Naomi assumed it was an Andros thing).
'I can't believe you guys saved my cousins!' She hugged Flora. 'Thank you! Thank you so much!'
'Always. I'm just glad we freed them from the pollution.' Flora pulled back, smiling hesitantly as she spoke. 'And…the fairy dust…that was Naomi's idea.'
Aisha tensed, glancing at Naomi with trepidation.
Naomi rolled her eyes. 'Okay, let's not make it weird. You're glad your cousins are back, I had a hand in it, so you're grateful, but you hate Ogron, and, by extension and principle, me, so you don't want to say thanks, and since you've been having a hard time lately, I won't make you say it, so let's just move on and go back to quiet disdain. You cool with that?'
'…Yes.'
'Great. And you're welcome.'
'Aisha?' called a familiar voice from the ship. 'Think I can get a gangplank or something?'
'Oh, sorry!' Aisha quickly created a Morphix gangplank, and Bloom hurried off the ship.
'Hey, Bloom.'
'Hey.' Bloom's response to Roxy's greeting was distracted and worried. 'Where's my dad? Flora said he wound up against the Trix?' Anyone could see that, after watching her birth parents get frozen and seeing Daphne being tormented in her dreams, the thought of her beloved adoptive father in danger was taking a sledgehammer to whatever quick fixes she'd been applying to her emotional state.
'In the bar.' Roxy took Bloom's arm, guiding her up the beach. 'C'mon, he's gonna be so happy to see you.'
Naomi glanced between Roxy and Aisha, quickly hurrying after Roxy before she and Aisha had to risk making small talk. Good Lord, that would be horrible.
'Dad?' Bloom called the moment she stepped inside the Frutti Music Bar. 'Dad!'
'Hey, baby girl.' Mike Taylor was promptly tackled in a desperate hug, Bloom clinging on like an emotionally-drained koala. 'Hey…hey, it's okay, Bloom. I'm fine.'
Bloom pulled back, staring up at her father with worry. 'You sure? Because if the Trix hurt you…'
'They didn't, baby girl. They didn't. It's gonna take more than a trio of witches to take on Mike Taylor! Hey, did you know I had my own Captain America moment?' Bloom shook her head, and her dad put his arm around her shoulders, guiding her over to sit down. 'Well, I took this trash can lid…'
Naomi kinda wanted to hear this story, but, to her disappointment, Roxy took her arm and guided her away from what was, in all fairness, a private daddy-daughter reunion.
'So…' the animal fairy said after a minute. 'You were right.'
'Always am.'
'Not true, but you got frozen, so I'll let you have that.'
Naomi winced, and Roxy frowned. 'Everything okay?'
'…No. Not really.' Naomi sighed, leaning back against me of the pillars at the edge of the club. 'It's just that…Icy's spell…I was frozen for about five minutes, and it was…' Her breath hitched, and when she looked up, her eyes were glistening. '…Roxy it was awful. I couldn't move, breathe, I could barely think. The cold burned, and I still feel like I should be shivering. And I just…I can't stop thinking…' Roxy put a concerned hand on her shoulder, and Naomi leaned into her touch. 'I can't stop thinking that if that was how awful it was being frozen for five minutes by a simple spell…how much worse is Omega?'
'…I'm sorry.'
Naomi shook her head, sucking in evening air and dabbing at her eyes. 'I tore into Bloom and Nebula about it, but…I can't really begrudge you for it. For defending yourself. But I can't stop being mad, either.' She bit her lip, deliberating over voicing the thing she'd been loathe to admit for the past month. '…And not just at your friends.'
'Huh?' Roxy's brow furrowed. 'Then…who are you mad at?'
'…Them. God, I hate to say it, because I love my family so much, and I'd die for them, but…but I'm so angry! I'm so angry that they couldn't let it go. I'm so angry that they kept fighting a losing battle. I'm so angry that they didn't stop. I'm so angry that Ogron couldn't let go of his goddamn pride and just surrender! I'm so angry that they didn't come back…' Her voice trailed off, choked with tears, and she rubbed at her eyes, furiously trying to keep herself from falling apart. 'God…this is so stupid…'
'No…' Roxy brushed away a tear, the salty droplet already tainted black from Naomi's mascara. 'No, it's not. You're allowed to be mad at them.'
'They're my family…'
'Yeah. And you can love them to pieces and also want to throttle them. They screwed up, and badly, and you're allowed to have feelings on that. And those feelings can be angry ones.' Roxy smiled dryly. 'You don't think I'm still mad at my mom? She tried to wipe out humanity. She let Nebula almost crush Gardenia. I didn't just magically forgive all that because we're family. Family is a support network. It means you're there for each other, and you help each other through all the screw-ups, but that doesn't mean you don't get mad. You don't get a free pass just because you're family. If anything, that means you have a right and a responsibility to call them out.'
Naomi smiled weakly, feeling a strong sense of gratitude for the girl she'd started out hating. '…Thanks, Princess. How'd you get so smart?'
'I assume I picked it up from you.'
Naomi sank into the hug Roxy offered, sighing at the sense of security that had become her norm. 'Sometimes I really miss…before. Before things went to hell. When there was always someone older to fix everything.'
'I guess we're becoming that 'someone older',' Roxy mused. 'When we graduate, we'll be guardian fairies of Earth.'
Naomi frowned, pulling back. 'You think? I'm not actually from Earth, and I'm not sure Nebula's got any real love for me…'
'Okay, I know Bloom had that whole thing with Earth not being her planet when she earned Enchantix, but, and not to dis the magic system, I think that's absolute rubbish. Of course you'll be a guardian fairy of Earth! It's your home, whether you were born here or not. Plus, as Nebula keeps saying, I'm the princess. And you're the number-one person I want watching my planet's back.'
Naomi blushed, turning away to keep Roxy from seeing. '…That's really sweet. Thanks.'
'Welcome. I should do something with the political influence that's been lobbed at me.' There were a few moments of silence, before Roxy spoke again, her voice hesitant. 'Speaking of political influence…I…I could…if you ever wanted me to…I could talk to Nebula about…about your family? About their sentence? I don't even know how long it is, but I can find out, and see if Nebula would be willing to listen to the idea of lightening it?'
Naomi's eyes widened. 'You…you'd do that?'
'You kidding? Of course. I can get right onto finding out their actual sentence. Maybe it's not that bad.'
Naomi raised an eyebrow. 'You've been to Omega, right?'
'Yes. I've been a lot of implausible places. But I'll talk to Nebula, I promise. And maybe I can get through to her about it.'
'You really think so?'
'I've sprouted wings and fought a giant tornado coming out of the ground. I have no idea what I can do anymore. This could feasibly be on the list.'
Naomi smiled tiredly, staring up at the stars starting to appear in the sky. She didn't hold out much hope that Nebula would ever be willing to free her family, but who knew? Roxy was as stubborn and determined as they come, and that gave Naomi hope that maybe she'd be able to see, hug and sobbingly berate her family yet.
Of course Naomi's mad at her family. They left and got themselves frozen. She had to deal with all this on her own, and that sucks. Roxy is gonna look into the wizards' sentence, but they won't be returning for a while, sorry.
Also, Flora has a nickname now!
And I had to use fairy dust to free Tressa and Nereus. I'm sorry, but this is a magical powder that breaks dark spells. All we needed was for the mutants to come out of the Infinite Ocean. And so we lose the random sword with the weirdly convenient powers. Seriously, how did that break the mutation? And why didn't they use it on the other mutants? It made no sense. All in all, the Lilo just served to get everyone in position to free Tressa and Nereus. It finally served a purpose! Yay! I'm gonna try and update again next Monday, but I have a lot going on, so don't begrudge me if I don't manage. And, if anyone is interested, I still have a QnA on this fic going on on my Tumblr.
