The funeral of Queen Medb of Connacht was a somber affair, with all the nobles and common folk gathered at the castle to pay their respects to their beloved queen. Scáthach stood solemnly at the head of the crowd, her grief palpable as she mourned the loss of her mischievous wife.
As the funeral procession made its way towards the royal tomb, there was a sudden commotion among the crowd. Gasps and whispers spread like wildfire as they caught sight of a figure approaching the castle gates. It was Queen Medb herself, looking radiant and alive as ever.
The people of Connacht were struck dumb with shock as they beheld their supposedly deceased queen standing before them. Some fled in terror, fearing that this was some sort of ghostly apparition come to haunt them. Others fell to their knees in awe, not daring to believe their own eyes.
Scáthach, however, was not surprised. She simply facepalmed at her wife's audacious prank, shaking her head in a mixture of exasperation and amusement. Medb had always been a free spirit, unwilling to conform to the expectations of others. This elaborate ruse was just her way of bidding farewell to her subjects in true Medb fashion.
With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, Medb addressed the stunned crowd, her voice ringing out clear and strong. "Fear not, my people! It is I, your Queen Medb, returned from the land of the dead to bid you farewell. I relinquish my throne to my rightful successor, and I leave you in capable hands. Scáthach and I have one last adventure to embark upon, so we bid you adieu."
And with that, the immortal married couple left the Castle of Connacht behind, setting off on a journey to parts unknown. As they rode off into the sunset, Scáthach couldn't help but chuckle at the memory of her wife's final, epic prank. And somewhere in the distance, the people of Connacht could hear the faint sound of laughter, a reminder of the indomitable spirit of their beloved queen.
