As they slowly pulled away from each other's lips Lucas leaned on the wall and pulled Grace into his side, grabbing the bowl with fruit along the way. He took a piece of apple and popped it in his mouth. Grace scrunched up her nose as she searched for some almonds in the fruit bowl and for a moment, the silence prevailed as they enjoyed their light repast.

Grace let out a content breath as she looked at Lucas and he smiled at her snuggling into his side.

"What should we do today? To relax after all the excitement?", he asked her warmly.

Grace grinned as she looked up at him.

"We can stay like this all day", as his smile mirrored hers, she giggled "Perhaps we can go for a walk?"

Lucas nodded.

"Sure", he kissed the tip of her nose when suddenly he thought of something "Hey… Have you ever went skating?"

Grace grimaced.

"No… only on the small frozen ponds in the backyards of the orphanages, and no skates", she replied "But, I always wanted to learn".

Lucas' face shone brightly.

"I can teach you. We can go for a walk, buy the skates for you and get onto it", he smiled as her eyes sparkled with excitement "What do you think?"

Grace smiled happily.

"I'd love that! I just need to go home and change", she giggled "Can't go skating in your pajamas!"

Lucas chuckled and cupped her soft cheek, his heart soaring as he felt it grow instantly warm at his touch. It always did and it still moved him so much when he felt it.

"Fair enough. We'll stop by at the orphanage on our way to the city", he said before inching closer to her lips "How does that sound, my love?"

Grace's smile turned dreamy.

"That sounds perfect", she whispered and kissed him.

—--

Grace closed the doors of the orphanage and rushed to Lucas, her smile radiant.

"I'm ready", she said as she took his hand in her gloved palm and they started to walk.

Lucas gently squeezed her palm before letting it go and wrapping his arm around her waist, pulling her into his side as they walked. She snuggled into his side and looked up at him, her smile never wavering from her lips.

"Tell me something about yourself that I don't know", she said warmly.

Lucas smiled as he comically squeezed his eyes.

"Something that you don't know…Hmmmm…", he placed his chin in thumb and index finger of his free hand, pretending to think hard, making Grace's smile widen "Well..I hate raisins", he raised his eyebrows playfully and Grace gave him a pointed look, making him grin and kiss her hair "Alright, alright", he took a deep breath in "I used to have longer hair."

Grace slowed her steps down as she looked at him in surprise.

"How much longer?", she asked.

Lucas glanced at her sideways with a bashful smile and pointed right below his ear.

Grace's eyes got a dreamy look and her lips curled up in a lazy smile.

"Ooooh, I bet you looked amazing!", at Lucas' shake of head and embarassed chuckle she snuggled closer to him "Now I can't stop imagining that much hair of glory", she whispered and her smile widened "Please, tell me you have some photos from back then."

Lucas chuckled.

"You don't want to see those, trust me", he said, making her gasp.

"Oh, but I do! I really, really do!", she grinned "I wanna see them!"

Lucas let out a breath and looked upwards, not being able to stop a smile curling up his lips.

Grace's eyes sparkled and she took his palm in hers and pulled him in a small alley with a few houses and stopped in front of him, practically bouncing on her heels.

He smiled at her bubbling energy.

"Grace? What are we doing here?", he asked as he glanced around quickly, noticing that they were the only two people in the street.

She stepped into his personal space and placed her palms on his forearms.

"I am being selfish", she quipped with a smile on her lips.

Lucas hugged her and gently pulled her closer to him.

"Selfish? You?", he murmured quietly "Impossible."

Grace exhaled a shaky breath.

"Oh, but I am", she whispered "I wanna kiss you", she inched closer to his lips, breathing him in "And I wanna kiss you now."

Lucas' lips curled up in a soft smile before he leaned down and gave his beloved fiancée a long, loving kiss. She wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him back, her palms joining up in the air behind his neck.

Grace sighed as the desperate need for air broke their kiss and she smiled as she looked up at him, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.

"I love you, my Lucas", she whispered.

He warmly smiled and leaned his forehead on hers, gently tightening his hold on her waist. He pressed his palms gently on her lower back and pulled her closer to him.

"I love you too, my angel", he whispered.

—--

Lucas felt Grace's fingers grasp his forearms a bit more tightly as he slowly started to move backwards on the ice, taking her with him.

She was so concentrated on his movements and tried to mirrored it with her own feet. Her face was serious as she looked down at his feet as he explained to her how to move.

And that determined little frown was back between her eyebrows.

She was beyond adorable.

He felt her fingers slowly easing up their hold on his forearms as she exhaled a breath.

"Okay", she said, still looking down at their feet "I think I got it. You can let me go."

Lucas creased his eyebrows slightly, a soft smile never leaving his lips.

"Are you sure?", as she gave him a small nod, Lucas let go of her elbows but still hovered his hands close by.

Grace stood frozen on the spot.

Lucas held his breath as she moved forward a little bit, his eyes searching her face as she held up her hands a bit in the air for a balance.

"Yep…I think I got it", she murmured as she made a baby step forward, her legs wobbling slightly.

"Just relax. Breathe", said Lucas, his facial expression turning concerned "Perhaps this was not one of my best ideas", at her puzzled look, he said softly "I don't want you to get hurt."

Grace smiled as she took another baby step toward him.

"I won't with the speed I am moving!", she quipped and started to giggle, making Lucas chuckle as well.

Encouraged, she moved a bit more and squealed "See! I got…AAAAH!", Grace's hands flailed up frantically in the air as she stumbled on her feet, prompting Lucas to launch forward and catch her.

"GRACE!", he exclaimed, struggling to hold them both up, but her feet had a will of their own and she stumbled even more, sending both of them on the frozen ground!

Lucas groaned as he landed first on the ground, and cushioned her fall a bit as she landed quite unceremoniously on him, yelping in surprise.

And in the next moment both of them bursted to laughter!

"Lucas!", she gasped through her giggles "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"

He sprawled down on the ice, laughing his heart out. She crawled closer to him, giggling like there is no tomorrow as her body covered his and she held herself up on her elbows and just enjoyed in watching him laugh. It made her heart warm up to see him so carefree and happy. And to know that she is the one who can make him feel that way - well, that was a super power Grace was more than glad to have.

She inched closer to his face and whispered:

"Did you know that your eyes have a little bit of green in them?", her lips curled up in a soft smile "It's like there are emerald particles right there in those dark brown orbs…", she squeezed her eyes like she was trying to get a better and sharper perspective on the matter in question "I think that it is because of the sun. When it's cloudy, your eyes are darker. But, when it's sunny like today…well, then, this happens", she smiled warmly at him and slowly leaning down, kissed him with all the love she felt for him in her heart.

Lucas inhaled deeply, her loving words and sweet scent, her soft skin and warm lips wrapping him up in the softest blanket of love. He slowly hugged her around her waist and kissed her back, his chest aching with emotions her gentleness woke up in him.

When their lips parted, she stayed close and smiled as she brushed away a stray hair from his forehead.

"I love you, my Lucas", she murmured gently. And before he could reply, she comically widened her eyes and quipped "Now…lets see can these two left feet of mine manage to get me back up", she pushed herself up on the palms and knees, trying very hard not to laugh and she almost managed.

Foreseeing what might happen, Lucas quickly scrambled up on his feet.

Not a minute too late.

Grace slowly picked up her hands and pushed herself to get up…only to yelp in surprise as her limbs started to give up! Lucas quickly caught her in his arms as she started to fall once again, barely able to breathe from laughing too hard!

He laughed at his beautiful fiancée's antics as he held her close and kissed her hair, murmuring gently:

"I love you too, my beautiful Grace."
