Hiruzen Sarutobi had endured a difficult week, starting with the massacre of the Uchiha clan, undoubtedly orchestrated by his friend Danzo Shimura and executed by Itachi Uchiha.
This was not how it was supposed to end; Shisui was supposed to influence Fugaku with his Mangekyou Sharingan, but his disappearance and presumed death only led Hiruzen to suspect that his friend had intervened to prevent it.
Despite everything, Hiruzen couldn't shake off the immense guilt he felt for the fate of the Uchiha clan. It all began with rumors that an Uchiha possibly had the Kyuubi under control, and others claimed to have seen a Sharingan in their eyes. Additionally, the mandatory relocation of the clan outside the village was the first nail in the coffin.
Hiruzen massaged his forehead, remembering when he was first informed of the tragedy. He had personally gone with an ANBU team to the Uchiha district. The scene was disturbing, even for a man hardened by three shinobi wars. The bodies bore various wounds that caused their deaths; the most common being inflicted by a large cut from a ninjato, while others had a kunai through their skull. But they all shared a common feature: their eyes were destroyed. The boy had been clever; Hiruzen would bet that Danzo wouldn't be satisfied with this outcome.
Despite his experience as a shinobi, Hiruzen couldn't shake off the weight of the situation. He had witnessed countless battles and tragedies, but the Uchiha clan massacre weighed heavily on him. The betrayal of someone he considered a friend, the loss of lives, and the possible repercussions for the village left his heart heavy.
As he reflected on these events, Hiruzen couldn't help but wonder if there was another way. Could diplomacy have prevented such a catastrophe? Or was it inevitable, given the complex dynamics and suspicions that had plagued the village for years? These thoughts tormented Hiruzen as he sought solace in the darkness of the night, grappling with the consequences of the decisions made and their impact on the future of Konoha.

Hiruzen advanced slowly towards the hospital, his escorts following him from the shadows like silent guardians. Every step seemed an effort, as if he bore the weight of the world on his shoulders. He sought the courage needed to face a heartbreaking task: speaking with the last surviving member of the Uchiha clan, Sasuke. Grief reflected in his eyes; he couldn't even begin to imagine the pain that young man must be experiencing. One day everything was normal, and the next, a twist of fate takes away all your friends and family. It was an unfathomable tragedy.
As he walked, Hiruzen returned every greeting with a slight nod of his head or a sad smile. He found comfort in the acknowledgment from the civilians. Suddenly, among the crowds, he caught a glimpse of blond hair swiftly darting through the people. A genuine smile spread across the old Hokage's face; he would bet it was Naruto, quickly escaping after some mischievous prank. He could imagine the annoyed reaction of some civilian or shinobi after his heir's antics.
The image of Naruto brought memories of bygone times to Hiruzen, filled with joy and mischief. Nostalgia enveloped him for a moment, but he quickly pushed those thoughts aside. Now was not the time to waste on memories. He had an urgent matter to attend to.

Fascinating.
That was the only thing I thought upon finishing exploring what the system I possessed had to offer; what was expected of one. The user interface was quite detailed but also too intuitive. It was filled with useful information and divided into different sections, each more intriguing than the last:
-Status: This section provided detailed information about my physical and mental statistics. I could see in real time how my abilities evolved and had a dedicated slot to display my current attire, which was quite practical and visual.
-Skills: Here I found a thorough list of all my skills and the progress I had made in each of them. I discovered that the masteries were not simple levels, but significant steps that marked my mastery. The difference between one level and another was like comparing day and night. Furthermore, I learned that each level notably improved my skills, which excited me quite a bit.
-Map: One of the most mysterious aspects of the system. It showed my surroundings with astonishing precision, although for the moment it was covered by a strange fog. It seemed that I had to explore and discover my surroundings to unlock its full functionality.
-Missions: This section provided me with a list of missions delivered by the system. Depending on my performance in these missions, I accumulated digital points that I could later use in the system's store. It was a perfect incentive to improve and advance on my journey.
-Store: The biggest surprise of all. I discovered a wide range of skills available, from simple techniques like the substitution jutsu or the transformation clone, to powerful bloodlines. The most intriguing thing was that these skills were not limited to the world of Naruto, but encompassed many more possibilities. I imagined myself as a certain man of steel. Simply too epic.
-Inventory: A pocket dimension with altered physical laws. It was like an unlimited space where I could store any object, although I wondered what its maximum accepted size would be. Could I store anything I touched? The uncertainty about its limits aroused my curiosity.
And lastly, there was the final section, currently locked. This mystery left me with a profound curiosity. The system information indicated that I needed to complete a series of requirements to unlock it, which increased my determination to explore more and discover all the secrets that this system had to offer.
I would have been ecstatic if it weren't for still feeling tired. I could only think of the possibilities that this system brought, but still, there were many things I also wanted to know.
The door opened cautiously. I could only stay expectant of who it could be, although I already had an idea.
Hiruzen Sarutobi entered the room. I tried to bow, but the Hokage stopped me.
"Don't worry, young man. These formalities are not necessary," he said. I simply nodded and remained silent. Both of us did; it seemed like neither knew how to start the conversation, and I sensed some discomfort coming from the Hokage.
"How... are you feeling?"
"Tired, sir," I responded, noting the fatigue reflected in Hiruzen's eyes.
"Is there anything you want to talk about, sir?" I asked respectfully, hoping not to bother him.
"I'm sorry for what happened to you. No one should go through that, young man," Hiruzen said. I didn't know how to feel. I understood his words very well, but they were directed at Sasuke Uchiha, not at me, the intruder of this body. Still, I couldn't help but feel some pity for the Uchiha.
The conversation with Hiruzen wasn't very productive after that, but there were important topics: like the Uchiha clan. Being the only survivor and having no living older relatives, the clan's secrets would be sealed until I came of age or became a Chunin, which didn't bother me much. Also, I would be residing in an apartment after refusing to stay in an orphanage; I would be given a subsidy for my new orphan status until I graduated from the ninja academy. Besides, there would be a funeral held for the Uchiha clan.
Hiruzen explained in detail the steps that would be taken to ensure that the secrets of the Uchiha clan remained protected. He spoke to me about the responsibility that now rested on my shoulders, not only for being the last Uchiha but also for the expectations that the village would have for me. As he spoke, I couldn't help but feel the weight of his words. Still, something inside me kept stirring with unease. There were questions that needed answers.
However, there was something bothering me, and I decided to express it to Hiruzen:
"What happened to Itachi?" I asked with clear discomfort and a hint of disgust. I still didn't know if this was like Naruto's original world; it could easily be an alternate version, and I would hate to see that guy every day, especially if he were treated like a 'hero'. I could never see him that way.
I would prefer to die first.
Hiruzen took a moment before responding, his eyes darkened for a moment, showing the burden he carried as a leader.
"He was put in the Bingo Book, S-rank. His actions were too serious to overlook. You don't have to worry," he assured me solemnly. The response relaxed me a bit, knowing that Itachi wouldn't be glorified for his actions.
"Thank you for telling me, sir," I thanked him, somewhat relieved. That was one less problem, for sure.
Before Hiruzen left, he gave me some words of encouragement.
"You have a difficult future ahead of you, young Uchiha. But you have the strength of your clan and the support of the village. Don't hesitate to seek help when you need it," he said, getting up and heading to the door. "You have to be strong, young man. I hope you get better soon."
I didn't say anything, but simply nodded. I couldn't help but think about the Hokage's words as he left. I knew my path was full of challenges and that I needed to be prepared to face them. I stayed in the room, looking at the ceiling and reflecting on the weight of my new reality. I knew I had to adapt and learn as quickly as possible if I wanted to survive and protect the Uchiha legacy.
The system I had discovered would be my most valuable tool, but also a constant reminder of the huge expectations that had been placed upon me. Not only did I have to master my skills and grow as a ninja, but I also had to unravel the mysteries and secrets that this new world and my situation presented.

"207... 208... 209," I murmured as I looked around, searching for the number of my new apartment. Not long ago, I had been discharged from the hospital. A shinobi who was sent by the Hokage was waiting for me to take me to my new 'home'. The streets of Konoha were quieter than usual, the air seemed laden with the sadness and sorrow of recent events. Every step I took reminded me of the burden I now carried on my shoulders.
"It's here, kid," said the adult guiding me. He stopped, and I mimicked him. Apartment 210 was in front of me. The building was modest but seemed welcoming. I grabbed the keys I had been given at the hospital to open the apartment.
"Thank you very much for bringing me, Hayate-san," I said, grateful. The brown-haired man scratched his head at my gratitude. His eyes reflected a mix of compassion and concern.
"You don't have to do that; I'm just following orders from Hokage-sama," he rejected my thanks as he headed to the door. He seemed to want to say something more, but hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I wasn't a fan of the Uchiha, but their death was certainly a big blow to Konoha. You have my condolences."
"Thank you very much, Hayate-san," I replied, appreciating his words. I opened the door to the apartment and took a step inside. The place was clean and tidy, but empty. Basic furniture was present, a bed, a table, and some chairs, but the space lacked the warmth of a home. As I walked through the small space, the reality of my new life began to settle in.
Hayate stood at the door, watching me with a thoughtful expression. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to find me," he finally said. I nodded in response, grateful for his offer.
"I will. Thanks again, Hayate-san," I replied sincerely. With one final nod, he turned around and walked away, leaving me alone in my new home.
I closed the door behind me and collapsed onto the bed. The fatigue I had been suppressing all day finally caught up with me, and I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to process everything that had happened. My mind kept going back to the conversation with Hiruzen, Hayate's words of condolence, and the overwhelming responsibility I felt.
"You have to be strong, young man." Hiruzen's words echoed in my head. I knew I had to face my new reality with courage and determination. But at that moment, I could only feel the weight of loneliness and uncertainty about my future.
I got up from the bed and walked to the window. I looked outside, watching the few passersby hurrying through the streets. The village of Konoha moved forward despite the tragedy, and I would have to do the same. I had a purpose, a path ahead of me, and although it was difficult, I knew I wasn't completely alone.
With one last look outside, I turned around and began
(-)
The morning was cold and gray, reflecting the mood of the village. Konoha's central square was decorated with Uchiha clan banners and flickering white candles under the cloudy sky. High-ranking shinobi, including ANBU, formed a solemn guard around a large altar in the center. On the altar, portraits of the Uchiha clan members, accompanied by significant personal items, told a story of courage and tragedy.
Leaders of the clans and important figures of Konoha, including the Hokage's advisors, occupied the seats of honor. Konoha citizens, dressed in mourning attire, filled the square in respectful silence, awaiting the start of the ceremony.
Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, stepped onto the podium, his face grave yet serene. He raised his hand, calling for silence.
"Today, we gather to honor the memory of the Uchiha clan, whose bravery and strength have been a cornerstone of our village. Their legacy will not be forgotten, and they will always be in our hearts," he said firmly, though tinged with sadness.
After the Hokage's words, Inoichi Yamanaka rose to speak.
"As leader of the Yamanaka clan, I express my deepest sorrow for the loss of our Uchiha brothers and sisters. Their sacrifice will be remembered."
He was followed by Hiashi Hyuga, who, with a solemn tone, added:
"On behalf of the Hyuga clan, we offer our condolences and a renewed commitment to work together for the peace and security of Konoha."
After the speeches, a minute of silence was observed. The air was thick with emotions, the pain palpable among those present. Then, a shinobi priest initiated a traditional purification ritual of the Uchiha clan, burning incense while chanting sacred songs.
Families and friends began to approach the altar to leave flowers, incense, and personal items. Each offering was a testimony of affection and respect towards the Uchiha.
Sasuke Uchiha, the sole survivor of the clan, was present. Although his face showed some pain, he remained silent. Part of him even felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave, but he couldn't; it would be quite disrespectful and would give a bad impression of him.
Some of the attendees, one by one, expressed their condolences to Sasuke and left their offerings at the altar. The ceremony continued with a soft melody marking the end. Hiruzen Sarutobi approached the podium once more to deliver the final words.
"The village is with you, Sasuke. Together, we will build a future where tragedy does not repeat itself."
Finally, clan leaders and other attendees offered words of comfort and hope to Sasuke as they bid farewell.
Sasuke watched the square slowly empty, feeling the weight of his new reality. Although his heart was heavy with pain and uncertainty, he couldn't give up so soon. He glanced one last time at the banners of his clan before turning around and walking towards his uncertain future, knowing that he carried the legacy of the Uchiha with him.
The square fell silent, with only the soft murmur of the wind among the candles and flowers, a constant reminder of the sacrifice and strength of the Uchiha clan.

"So, just now," I muttered to myself, my eyes fixed on the altar. All the photos were too familiar to me, from the elders Kaori and Tenma to the young Kosuke. I could still remember how his friend proudly exclaimed that he would be the first Uchiha to become Hokage... Only to end up coldly murdered by his brother.
My hands clenched bitterly as I struggled with a mix of pain and anger. I wanted to blame Itachi entirely, but I knew that would be a mistake. There were more people involved in this tragedy, from Danzo Shimura himself to the Hokage. I didn't know how to feel about the latter. His words were well-intentioned, but at the same time, I felt him as a hypocrite.
Maybe it was time to leave the funeral. I needed to calm down, maybe find something to eat. Yes, I was definitely hungry. But as I walked away from the altar, a persistent sense of injustice continued to haunt me.
I noticed it was already getting dark; I really had to hurry. I didn't feel like cooking, besides, I didn't even know how to cook well. I looked for a restaurant that was open at these hours.
Luckily, I found a quite well-known one, at least for me: Ichiraku Ramen.
As I entered the place, the smell of various types of ramen filled the air, stimulating my senses and awakening memories of past afternoons. The characteristic bustle of the place didn't bother me at all; in fact, it added a touch of authenticity to the experience. But among all those sounds, one stood out in particular: the sound of someone devouring their food with enthusiasm and speed.
He blinked at the latter; those characteristics were common in someone. It wasn't difficult to connect the dots, and when I turned to my side, there he was: Naruto Uzumaki. His vibrant energy filled the room, and his genuine smile reminded me of times past. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring us together in this particular place, at this exact moment.
Upon noticing my presence, his expression changed to one of surprise.
"You, what are you doing here, Teme!"
"Is that how you yell at everyone?" I questioned as I rubbed my ears; Naruto's yell certainly rivaled Sakura's.
Naruto's surprise quickly faded, and a few seconds later, his face transformed into a playful smile.
"If you're here, I guess someone wants to experience the greatness of ramen," he said with pride.
"Maybe I should go somewhere else," I joked, although Naruto didn't like it much.
"Hey, you just can't leave without trying the delicacy of the gods," Naruto exclaimed as he pointed at me.
"I guess... whatever you say," I replied. I really didn't want to argue at the moment, and that seemed to be the signal for Ichiraku himself to enter.
"Good evening, what would you like to try?" the owner asked me.
After looking at the menu, I was intrigued to know if Ichiraku's ramen was really as good as Naruto said or if it was just an exaggeration. There was also the possibility that it was the only place where they wouldn't throw him out.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, with the sound of ramen preparation in the kitchen and the murmur of customers filling the place. I sat on one of the stools and looked around, noticing the traditional decoration and the details that gave the place a unique charm. Without a doubt, Ichiraku Ramen had its own special atmosphere that made it stand out among other restaurants in the village.
I ended up ordering a pork ramen. It took a few minutes for Ichiraku to return from the kitchen with the ramen bowl.
"Itadakimasu," I said, before starting to eat.
After the first bite, I found out it wasn't an exaggeration; the ramen was really good. I couldn't help but enjoy it, remembering a time when I was obsessed with instant noodles, but even those couldn't compare to this. I would have to set a limit before turning it into an obsession. Although that didn't stop me from ordering another one.
As I enjoyed the second bowl, I observed Naruto. He was eating with overflowing energy, oblivious to any worries. The ease with which he immersed himself in the simple happiness of a good bowl of ramen was almost enviable. I recalled moments from my past life where finding that kind of joy in the little things had become increasingly rare.
I was definitely satisfied; the warmth of the ramen made me feel calmer. Who would have thought that eating ramen could help me relax?
"I bet you liked it, didn't you?" Naruto said with a cheeky smile, which embarrassed me a bit.
"I'll give you that, it's really good. But I wouldn't eat it every day," I said. Naruto's initial smile was evident, but then he frowned upon hearing the last part.
"Why not?" he asked.
"I don't want to be short forever," I replied. Naruto clicked his tongue upon hearing my response.
"Whatever you say, Teme."
As I finished my second bowl, the conversation between Naruto and Teuchi, the owner of the restaurant, caught my attention. Naruto was talking animatedly about his dreams of becoming Hokage, and Teuchi listened to him with paternal patience. It was clear that this place not only offered food to Naruto but also a sense of belonging.
I supposed that was my cue to leave. I left the necessary amount of yen to pay my bill and didn't forget to bid farewell to the owner, thanking him for his hospitality and great food.
"Thanks for the meal. It was excellent," I said to Teuchi, who smiled kindly and wished me a good night.
"Come back whenever you want, kid," he said, and I could see a glint of compassion in his eyes; he probably knew my situation.
As I stepped out of the restaurant, I felt the cool breeze of the night on my face. Konoha looked different under the moonlight, with elongated shadows and soft lights giving it an almost mystical air. I walked slowly towards my new home, reflecting on everything that had happened. This place still felt strange to me, but moments like this made me feel a little more connected.
Upon reaching my new home, I collapsed onto the bed, letting the day's fatigue quickly overcome me. I closed my eyes, and before I knew it, I was entering the world of dreams, where my mind could rest and process everything I had experienced.

End of chapter.
What did you think?
If you're wondering, I plan to write about 2 or 3 more chapters before the start of Naruto, where I'll explore more about the reincarnated character.
