Chapter 3

Percy

I was waiting for Annabeth, but I accidentally fell asleep.

I hate you, head! I sighed dejectedly, since I'm here, I should just see what the dream what to show me. The room I was in was dimly lit, I mean, come on! Is it a must that bad people need to plan in dimly lit rooms? It looked like an interrogation room, with a wooden desk and 3 chairs on each side. There were 4 occupants in the room, and they seemed that they were having a meeting. Hope it's not like the ones the Gods hold, I thought drily.

"She can't live, even though she is your blood, she is still human. She is weak, and you can't always protect her." Occupant 1 said. Wow, he sounded just like how some Gods (cough Zeus cough) would sound. And what did he mean by 'human'? Wasn't he one?

"I will protect my daughter with my life! She won't die!" Occupant 2 vowed. Ah, so they were discussing about this guy's daughter.

"Brother, please see reason. I know you love her, but—"

"I don't care! I won't allow you to kill her. If you even try, I'll declare war on you." He growled.

"Then turn her into one of us." Occupant 3 suddenly cut in.

"You know she doesn't want to." Occupant 2 sighed, "She said she doesn't want to danger her friends and she would hate to be alive when all her friends are dead." Why did this sound like godhood to me? What were they talking about?

"Then kill all her friends so she will have no reason to refuse, or have you turned so soft hearted that you don't have the guts to kill them?" Occupant 4 drawled, "I missed the old you, dear old Klaus, when you could kill people for fun." Okay, I officially declared these guys were psychos. Killing people for fun?

Occupant-2-who-I-knew-was-called-Klaus suddenly stood up, "You will not harm any of her friends and I won't allow her to be hurt as well. If any of you even look at her in the wrong way, I'm declaring war on the person." He declared and stomped out. Wow, overprotective parents much? I mean, I understand parental love can be very strong, but declaring war?

The other four figures looked at the retreating figure of the person and looked at each other. As if reached into a conclusion, they nodded at each other. "If Niklaus won't do it, then we shall finish it ourselves, consequences be damned." Occupant 1 banged his fist on the table, "You all in?". Oh, so that guy was called Niklaus, not Klaus. Okay, got it.

Suddenly, the room blurred and the next thing I knew, I was in some wood. I saw a girl running with her wavy brown hair flying behind her. She arrived at a clearing, panting, and looked behind her, "Is he gone?" She muttered.

"Sorry to disappoint but I'm right here." A man's voice sounded coldly in the clearing. The girl whipped her head around and looked at somewhere on her right, "Damn it." She cursed.

"Why did you even bother to run? You should know by now it's pointless." The man stepped forward, but not yet in the light, though I could see his mouth, "Humans like you have no hope outrunning my kind."

"Well, I still have to try, don't I?" The girl shot back, "Can't let myself give up and die that easily, can I!?"

"You know what?" The man sneered, "I don't care. It all ends the same."

"How so?" The girl tried to be nonchalant about it, but I think she knew it too.

"Well, of course it's you die by my hand, what else?" The man smirked, "Your father's orders of course, or else I would never even think of hurting a daughter of an Original."

The girl looked like she just got slapped, "Wha- what? My father?" She stammered.

"You think he really cares about you?" He gave her an all teeth grin, "You are nothing to him. All he care about is that you are weak, and that you would only drag him down." Damn, so this is what those other people were planning, seriously? Turning Niklaus' daughter against him before killing her? That was their plan? Cruel.

"I am so grateful to him," he continued, "For he has given me the honour to kill his daughter!" Yo! She's just a girl!

"You call this an honour?" The girl glared at him, though I can see tears running down her face, "Sorry to dash your daydream but I won't go down today at least without a fight."

"Ha! Your attempts are futile." The man stalked forward, "I'm faster and stronger than you, what can you do?"

The girl bared her teeth, "You should know not to underestimate opponents."

"Shall we test that, then?" The man asked, finally stepped into the light.

He had the silhouette of a man, but the moment he walked into the clearing, it was clear that he was a monster. No-white-only-black eyes, two fangs in his mouth, with claws outstretched. He snarled and crouched down, prepared to pounce.

"Get me if you can." The girl took out a wooden stake from her pocket and crouched down as well, "Would your claws and fangs take my life, or would my stale take your life?"

The man started to look a bit uneasily at the stake, but he put on his calm facade quickly. Normal people would not see it, but hey, I'm not normal. It seemed like the girl could see it too, "Uneasy?"

"Ha! You wish. Even though you have stake, it does not mean you can kill me." The man hissed, and pounced at the girl with the intent of ripping her throat out, "Today, I will feast your blood!"

Even though the girl had a weapon, what does a stake do? It was just a wool with a sharp end, not a very ideal weapon for protection. I may be rooting for the girl, but that does not mean she can beat that monster with a wooden stake! It's easy to break, for starters.

The girl twirled around and dodged his first attack. She attempted to get behind him, and started to slam her stake down toward his chest, but the man turned around and caught her hand. The girl shivered slightly, and the man smirked. He plucked the stake out of her hands and threw it away. He then punched the girl in her stomach.

"No!" I shouted.

"No!" I startled awake.

Sunlight was streaming into the room, and birds singing on the trees outside. It was already morning. I looked at the alarm clock on my bedside table, it showed six o'clock in the morning.

"Nightmares?" Annabeth murmured sleepily next to me.

"Nah," I sighed, "It's not. Sorry for waking you up." I kissed her forehead, "It's still early."

"What's the time?" She asked.

"Six."

She glared at me, "It's NOT early at all. You and I have a very different view on early and late."

I grinned sheepishly, "Well, true."

She got up and started to change. She caught me staring and pulled her clothes closer to her, "What?"

"Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?"

She blushed furiously, and said slyly, "Well, you may have hinted a bit before."

"I'm going to wash up," I started to get down from the bed, "See you downstairs?"

"Yeah, you will!" She called from the other side of the room as I closed the bedroom door.

After I brushed my teeth and washed my face, I went downstairs. Annabeth was already there, as well as Thalia which was surprising since she wasn't an early riser. "Good morning, Kelp Head." She yawned. Okay, maybe she wasn't really awake yet? And she never say good mornings to us, what happened to the sarcastic and punky Pinecone Face? I raised an eyebrow at her.

"What?" She said defensively, after seeing my raised eyebrow, "I can be polite if I want to." And then she looked at the kitchen wistfully, "Plus Sally threatened to give my batch of blue pancakes to Death Breath." She crossed her arms and pouted. Ah, so that explained it. I snickered, which led me to face the end of her glare.

Mum came out of the kitchen and put a stack of blue pancake on the table. I immediately snatched them all. "Percy! Be nice!" Mum scolded. I pouted and half of them back. "I've made more so you don't need to worry about not having enough." She started going back to the kitchen. "And someone need to go wake up Nico before all the pancakes are gone!" She called back over her shoulder.

Annabeth looked at us and saw us stuffing our face with pancakes, she stood up and huffed, "Fine. I'll go." She stomped upstairs loudly and banged on Nico's door, "Wake up! You bed hogging stupid vampire!" A crash sounded in the room, followed by a yelp and a bunch of cursing. The door opened, showing a grumpy faced Nico, "Stop calling me a vampire! I'm not those accursed undead." He grumbled, "They gave Father so much paperwork."

They started going downstairs. "What do you mean?" Annabeth inquired, "Vampires are real?"

Nico froze and gave her an oh-shit face, "Ah Hades, Father is so going to blast me to oblivion." He sighed, "And to answer your question, yes."

"Are they really allergic to garlic? Is it true that they can't get into the sun? And can they come into a house without invitation? Were they really—" she started firing questions at him.

"Stop! Stop!" Nico yelped, "Slow down!" He rubbed his head, feeling an headache coming, "And one question at a time."

"Sorry." Annabeth said sheepishly, "But when I encounter new things, I get easily fired up."

"It's fine." He said dismissively and changed the subject. He did not want to answer those question. Those were secrets! "By the way, what's for breakfast?"

"Blue pancakes." She replied.

He groaned, "That is the first thing you should have told me! They are going to eat all of them." He pouted.

"I think Sally left some for you."

"Life saver!"

She snorted and went to the room. Me and Thalia were still eating.

"You guys are back?" I asked with my mouth full, very surprised, "It normally takes much longer to wake him up, and it's combines with water and electricity." Emphasis on much.

He glared at me and sat down next to Thalia, "I'm right here, you know. And to be honest, I was already awake when Annabeth knocked on my door."

"I think banged on the door is more precise." Thalia sniggered.

"Yes." He said annoyed, "So she wasn't exactly waking me up, but just bringing me downstairs."

"What were you doing this early anyway." I asked, "You almost never wake up before 10 before."

"The same reason why you and Thalia woke up early today." He lowered his voice, "I had a demigod dream."

"What?" Three voices said at the same time.

Nico got some pancakes and stabbed into one, "I think the reason the gods sent us here was because there are somethings happening here."

I raised my hand, "I confess, I had a demigod dream as well."

"Seaweed Brain," Annabeth whacked my head, "This is not school, you don't need to raise your hand. And why didn't you tell me?"

"Well…" The truth is I didn't want to worry her, but she would not like it, "Because—"

"I had dreams as well." Thalia swallowed her pancakes and said, "And I have no idea what they were about." Life saver! I cheered mentally.

"Meeting later?" Annabeth looked at each of us and asked.

"Fine by me." Nico shrugged.

"Anything for you, Wise Girl." I smiled at her.

"Okay." Thalia said, "When and where?"

"Meet in Percy and I's room in 30." Annabeth ordered, "It's time to discuss your dreams."
