Season 3: Episode 9

Principal Howells was looking more and more like a beleaguered man than he ever had any other time the group had seen them. He looked up at them warily as they all entered.

"Yes…what seems to be the trouble?" He asked, on edge.

He looked around at the girls who were at the forefront of the group. The returned Clementine Hutchison, Brody Burress, Violet Adlon, Sarah Chaikin and Becca Jones. Gabriel Garcia stood by Brody's side while John Blossom and David Sanders stood just behind Sarah and Becca respectively. Kyle Sherman and Sophie Leigh stood off to the side. They all looked outraged, but Gabriel, Brody, Clementine and Violet looked especially angry.

"We have just been needlessly harassed by that monstrous evil piece of trash, Carver." Violet burst out, her fury sparking in her eyes.

Principal Howells began to reply awkwardly. "Now, Miss Adlon, that's Mr. Carver, you need to respect…"

"Respect, why, he shows us no respect, in fact, he outright did more than insult us. He outright verbally abused us." Clementine cut in.

"Twice in our case." Gabe added darkly.

Principal Howells slumped back in his seat, looking drained and dismayed, this wouldn't be good, he was worried that this was indeed going to cause even more problems.

He shook his head and sighed.

"I'm sorry to hear this, but-"

"But nothing." Brody snapped. "That man harassed me and Gabe, twice, due to our relationship. Simply because of Gabe's Cuban heritage, according to him Gabe is trying to force himself on me, instead of me dating a proper white boy."

The Principal grimaced, knowing full well that this wasn't the first time Brody had brought up Gabe's mixed-race status as a factor in how Gabe was being poorly treated. In fact the last time had been when Gabe was being suspected of attacking Brody herself, when Brody herself made it clear he had saved her.

"Then, to top it all off he sees Violet and I holding hands and starts harassing us instead." Clem snarled. "Attacking us for our sexuality."

There was a stony silence in the office and the group were all just waiting for the Principal's reaction. Violet more than anyone expected the man to scoff, to brush them off or give them into trouble instead. But what actually happened surprised her, surprised all of them. The Principal actually groaned as he slumped back in his seat and rubbed his temples.

"More troubles like this…" He grumbled, seemingly too himself. "As if things weren't bad enough. Worse we actually need a resource officer too and after all the trouble of finding one…"

The group shared a shocked look and began to wonder, was the Principal really that out of his depth at the moment.

That was when the door opened again, they all looked and were surprised to see Lee enter.

"Mr. Everett." The Principal queried with a raised eyebrow.

Lee shook his head. "Sir, I'm sorry but…as problematic as you're finding things, you have to let William go, he is a menace and is harassing so many students rather than helping them. He has no place here; I'm surprised he even got employed with behaviour like that."

"You think he put that on his resume?" The Principal fired back. "We can't leave that position vacant and there are practically no other people to take the job."

Lee frowned. "This man needs to go; the safety of the students is more important than filling some position. But if you're that desperate to fill some position, then I'll gladly fill that post myself, in addition to my regular teaching duties."

The Principal seemed taken aback by this, but to the group, they could see that Lee had given the Principal just what he wanted, for his eyes lit up at that moment.

"I…I see, well that's good. I hope we can get things settled quickly and get you prepared for your new duties, Mr. Everett." The Principal said with a grin. "I admit, these aren't the first troubles Mr. Carver has caused, others have complained too."

Lee nodded. "Yes, I'm aware, I actually made sure all those incidents were reported to the school board."

Relief flooded the whole office then as they realized, finally, things were going to be dealt with and Carver would pay the price for what he had done, multiple times it seemed.

With school over for the day, Clementine smiled as she smoothed down her schoolgirl skirt and grinned at Violet who walked alongside her, blushing as she kept subtly glancing down at said skirt.

"Like what you see, Vi?" Clem teased with a wink.

Violet flushed but smiled. "I, I…um, yes."

They both laughed and linked hands, sharing a soft kiss before they continued to walk, heading for Clem's house now that school was over. They had agreed to simply go and hang out there, both their families would be busy with work but they didn't mind, it would allow them to spend some time relaxing together, maybe even making out. Walking happily Clem actually rested her head on Violet's shoulder, it was kind of awkward as Violet was only an inch taller than Clem, but it still felt nice for them.

"So…You think everything's gonna be good now, at school?" Violet asked at last.

Clem smiled. "Hopefully, once they get that creep out and Lee takes over."

Violet grinned at that as they walked closer to Clem's house but as they were at the bottom of the driveway leading to Clem's house, Clem looked over to the Lockett house next door and suddenly tensed.

Violet paused, confused as to why Clem stepped away from her.

"Clem…" She began.

She stopped when she saw that Clem was glaring towards the house. She followed Clem's gaze and soon saw what Clem as glaring at. Namely the fact that there, at the Lockett house, AJ's house, was Lily.

"Of all the…she doesn't get it, she dares…" Clem was muttering and growling.

"Uh."

But before Violet could say anything she found herself standing, shocked and flustered as Clem stalked over to the house and soon actually became embroiled in an argument with Lily. Lily looked disgruntled while Clem looked furious, Violet had no idea what the argument was about but what truly made her confused or worried was that she was certain she heard AJ's name mentioned several times. When Lily finally left and Clem returned to her she was tense but didn't say anything more about the argument and just led the way into the house.

"Clem…?"

"Just…never mind Vi. C'mon, I need a good distraction." She replied.

She turned and kissed her girlfriend as she relaxed and Violet did too.
