Maya Bishop adjusted her blazer as she entered the elegant lounge of a high-end restaurant in downtown Seattle. Her legal mind was accustomed to dealing with uncertainty, but this situation was unlike anything she had ever faced. She was here to meet Carina DeLuca, the woman her family expected her to marry. Despite her reservations, Maya was determined to approach this meeting with an open mind.
Carina DeLuca was already seated, her posture poised and her expression composed. As Maya approached, Carina stood and extended her hand, offering a polite smile.
"Maya Bishop, I presume?" Carina's voice was warm, yet there was an underlying tension that mirrored Maya's own feelings.
"Yes, and you must be Carina DeLuca. It's a pleasure to meet you," Maya replied, shaking Carina's hand.
They sat down, the silence between them thick with unspoken questions. Both women were acutely aware of the expectations placed upon them, yet neither was entirely on board with the idea of an arranged marriage.
Maya decided to break the ice. "Carina, I think we should be honest with each other. This situation isn't ideal for either of us, but we might be able to find a way to make it work."
Carina nodded, her gaze steady. "I agree. I've been thinking a lot about this, and I can't seem to wrap my head around the idea of an arranged marriage. When I imagined my life, I always dreamed of marrying someone I was in love with."
"I have been trying to sort these thoughts out as well. To be honest when I thought about my future it wouldn't include marriage at all." Maya said as she raised her hand for the waitress.
The waitress appeared and took their drink orders. Maya ordering whiskey, neat and Carina their finest red wine.
"So not the marriage type" Carina smiled as she sipped her wine.
"No, I never saw that for myself." Maya replied while glancing at the menu.
"You always had someone new on your arm at the events I saw you at. I assumed you were looking to settle down and start a family." Carina questioned looking up from her menu across at Maya.
"Well you were correct, I did have a few different dates to those events. You know how they can be if you don't have someone to share in the misery. But nope family was never on that list. I am very dedicated to my job and take work seriously. I have learned over the years that's usually a turn off for women." Maya sipped her whiskey.
Maya smirked as she stated, "As I recall I remember seeing you on the arms of multiple different people throughout those events."
"Yes, it is always good to have someone sharing in the misery as you say." Carina quipped back. "Have you eaten here before? I am at a loss as to what to order?"
Maya put her menu down "I've eaten here once right after it opened. I know the head chef, we have been friends for a few years. Trust me when I say everything on the menu is excellent."
"I'm going with their chargrilled T-bone with house potatoes and truffle Mac and cheese." Maya said placing her menu at the end of the table.
"Carb loading are we?" Carina smiled "I think the grilled salmon and veggies sounds great"
"Well with all the added stress lately my workouts have been a bit more intense so I can definitely spare the calories tonight" Maya lifted her glass, "We should toast to this ridiculous notion that we are in olden times and the idea of this arranged marriage" she stated with a sarcastic tone.
Carina raised her glass, "Yes, really arranged marriage in this age." Carina shook her head as she replied.
"Well I guess we better discuss some details. I know this is awkward but I did promise my father I would give this decision the time and research necessary to make." Maya sipped her whiskey.
"Yes, I too agreed to my Papa to give this decision thought." Carina responded folding her napkin into her lap.
The waitress reappeared and took their orders informing them their order would be out shortly. Both women ordered drink refills and continued the conversation.
"So let's lay out the facts. Both family business need this "merger" to help solidify their place in the markets. B4 Inc., in order to shore up the Chinese markets and Deluca International in order to break into the international markets. It seems like this could be achieved is a multitude of other ways but my team has yet to find an alternative." Maya spoke
"You had a team working on this" Carina questioned
"Well nothing extravagant but my team I have been working with for the last few years at the firm. They are some of the best in the business." Maya responded
"So let me get this correct, you don't actually work for your family's company? I am confused how will this help if you aren't even a part of the business?" Carina now more puzzled than ever
"Yes, I am currently employed at the corporate law firm of Harris Worldwide. I didn't think it would be wise straight out of law school going into the family business. I needed experience and wisdom and to learn from the best in order to bring those skills with me when the time came to work for B4 Inc." Maya stated while making room on the table for their entrees that has just arrived. Taking a second to look across the table at Carina, Maya was caught by her beauty and let an audible lull in the conversation occur.
"Interesting" Carina replied as she began to cut her salmon. Carina had thought to herself how together Maya seemed to have her life currently. She was amazed at the foresight to her career Maya had taken.
"I do hold a management position at B4, and am involved in some of the decision making. I also oversee the current legal department but my current firm does handle a lot of the legal work for the company currently." Maya said cutting into her steak. "How is your meal?" Maya questioned.
"Exquisite, I have to confess moving here from Italy I was worried that the food would never compare however Seattle does seem to have excellent fresh seafood." Carina replied in between bites. "So I am going to be honest, I am actually seeing someone at the moment. It's still sort of a new relationship and we are trying to find our balance but I want to be upfront about things. My Papa thinks that this best move for the company and I really do want the best for DeLuca International." Carina continued
Maya sipped her whiskey trying to hold back a smirk, Carina was already seeing someone. This arrangement was never going to work, she was dating a man currently. Maya was very unsure about when to discuss her condition with Carina as well. Outside of her lovers only a handful of people knew. The old thoughts from school began to creep back in her mind that Carina would never accept her and would be completely turned off once learning about her condition.
"Papa plans to turn the company over to Andrea and I in the coming years but has expressed this deal is vital in its financial stability and market status." Carina continued "I will be honest I am really great with the advertising/ client side of the operation but do rely heavily on the advisors for financial and business advice."
"The team researched everything as we would when approaching any business deal. DeLuca International is a stable company currently, it is fighting for market share which could be achieved through our merger. B4 is slightly stalling now without finding a great place in the Chinese markets and does need a boost to get the numbers where we would like them." Maya continued as she took bites of the steak.
"So this is a beneficial business decision in your eyes" Carina questioned.
"It make some sense" Maya continued "Carina you have to try the truffle Mac and cheese, I think this might be the best dish on the menu" Maya slid her plate toward Carina to grab a bite.
"The real question is do we want to do this to our lives, Carina" Maya glanced up as Carina was taking a bite.
"Wow, I am jealous now. I should have ordered that as my side." Carina savored the taste and grabbed one more bite before Maya sifted her plate back across the table. "I do not want to upset my Papa but I am also not sure this marriage is the right thing for me, for us." Carina watched Maya's expression with her last statement.
"I do agree at this time. There was one other potential option the team and I discussed." Maya started as she sipped on her whiskey. "We could dictate the terms of this arrangement."
"Terms?" Carina tilted her head slightly as the words left her mouth.
"Terms, so marriage is basically a legal agreement of sorts. We decide the terms of that agreement, so if we want to give a minimum time frame, housing requirements, and various other aspects that could improve this decision for our personal gain to allow for our wanted lifestyles." Maya watched as she explained, still slightly caught off guard with Carina's beauty.
"Ok, I understand. Since you thought of all of this what were some of the terms you think will help us" Carina stated feeling slightly unprepared for this meeting of sorts.
"Well I think if we set a time limit say 1-2 years or such, this would benefit the companies in that they get the needed boosts in the markets and we have a set time frame to work within. Another term would be our residence, we would both be able to retain separate areas within the residence so to keep the public appearance of a marriage but not sacrificing our own spaces. A third potential would career autonomy, we can both continue our separate careers as we do now to not interfere with either." Maya watched Carina's eyes to judge if she was mis-stepping with her statements.
"While it would be very important to maintain the public image of the marriage, we could also have our own concessions. I am well aware that marriage should be built on love but in this instance, respect will have to be the foundation. Please know I would never force you into anything. You can continue to see whoever you would like as long as the public image stays intact. Obviously, attending certain functions together will be necessary but I would not attempt to subvert your freedom in any manner." Maya passed to sip her whiskey.
"So you have put a lot of thought into this decision" Carina smiled as she sipped her red wine coming to the end of the glass.
"Well my job is to put deals together that will pass, so I just applied what I know." Maya shrugged.
"Well we certainly won't have an answer tonight" Carina chuckled as the waiter appeared to fill her wine glass. Carina at first put her hand over it to stop the water but then looked toward Maya "One more glass?"
Maya responded "Sure, this has been pretty pleasant so far."
"Pleasant so far, huh, what did you think this would be like?" Carina gasped.
Maya stuttered for a second, she thought to herself this night was going good so far, and now she missteps. She knew the Italian could have a fiery spirit she had remembered an article a while back depicting the Italian very unhappy with the behavior of a guest at one of the fundraising events.
"I actually had no idea what to expect, we had only met in very brief minutes prior." Maya said hoping she recovered.
"That is true. Well I guess we should get to know each other a bit better in order to complete some of the "research" as you say on this decision" Carina laughed
"So I have a younger brother, Andrea who is in IT. I was raised in Italy until high school when we moved to the West Coast. My undergraduate is in Biology because I was originally on the path to be a doctor. I do really enjoy my work and interacting with the clients. My favorite color is pink and my favorite flower is a peony." Carina looked up at Maya and realized this was the first time she really stopped and looked at Maya this evening. She couldn't help but notice how her suit fit perfectly, outlying her muscular body.
"Wow, ok so I guess it's my turn" Maya continued "I to have a younger brother, Mason. He hasn't really chose a specific career path and just works middle management for B4. I have lived on the West Coast my entire life with the exception of college and law school. I always knew I wanted to be a professional athlete or a lawyer growing up. Junior year of high school I decided to stop track to focus on academics. Running is still very much a part of my life and is how I clear my head. I also enjoy my job and was just named the youngest partner at the firm. My favorite color is green and I have no idea what a peony is but I do really like all the wildflowers on the side of the road."
Carina smiled "Wildflowers, really?"
"Out of everything I said, wildflowers is what your hung up on." Maya laughed "Well I guess I will be researching flowers now" Maya said as she finished her whiskey.
"So, I guess we both have some thinking to do. How about we give this some thought for the next week or so and then meet up again. I'll put some thought into "terms" and what I would need to make this arrangement work for me. Can I give you my number so that we can decide when and where to meet again." Carina asked as she stood and took a step towards Maya.
"That sounds great, I will keep thinking on my end as well. Let me get my phone really quick to get your number." Maya pulled her phone from her pocket and handed it to Carina. As their hands brushed Maya couldn't help but feel a different sensation. She shook her head slightly to bring her thoughts back into the present.
"Ok you have my number. Thanks so much for tonight, it was really nice to meet you." Carina said as she stepped in to hug Maya.
Caught off guard for a second Maya quickly wrapped a hand around Carina's shoulders to return the hug. Just as Carina pulled away she could feel a sensation in her pants. She looked down, this was the first time her dick had twitched from a slight half hug. Before allowing her to break down these thoughts she quickly dropped cash on the table for the bill and walked out into the parking lot.

Carina sat with her friends Jo and Gabrielle at their favorite café on the water, the lively chatter around them providing a comforting backdrop. She sipped her espresso, her mind still buzzing from her meeting with Maya. Her friends' curious eyes were fixed on her, waiting for her to share the details. Jo was Carina's friend from undergraduate and was now a doctor at Grey Sloan Memorial. She had just started her OB/GYN residency. Gabrielle was Carina's life long best friend and was currently working in the modeling industry.
"So, how did it go with Maya?" Jo asked, leaning forward eagerly.
Carina smiled, feeling a flutter of excitement. "Well, she was... impressive. And really handsome, which I didn't expect. We had a good discussion and even started talking about setting some terms if we go through with this marriage."
Gabrielle raised an eyebrow. "Terms? What kind of terms?"
"Things like career independence, personal space, and mutual respect. We both agreed that we need to make this work on our own terms if we're going to do it at all," Carina explained.
Jo and Gabrielle exchanged a glance, their skepticism evident. "Carina, are you really considering this?" Gabrielle asked, her tone laced with concern. "An arranged marriage? This doesn't sound like you at all."
Carina sighed, setting her cup down. "I know it sounds crazy, but Maya and I both want to maintain our independence. We're approaching this practically, not romantically."
"But that's just it," Jo interjected. "Marriage should be about love and connection, not just a business arrangement. You deserve more than that."
Gabrielle nodded in agreement. "And what about Lucas? Have you talked to him about any of this?"
Carina felt a pang of guilt. "We did talk, actually. I asked him some tough questions about our future, and his answers made me realize that he's not on the same page as me. He's not ready to settle down or start a family."
Jo frowned. "So you're going to throw away what you have with Lucas for a marriage of convenience? It just doesn't seem right."
"It's not that simple," Carina replied, her voice strained. "I care about Lucas, but I also need to think about my future. I want stability, a family, and he can't give me that. Maya and I are both pragmatic about this. We're not diving in headfirst; we're setting terms to make sure it works for both of us."
Gabrielle shook her head. "But Carina, an arranged marriage? It feels like you're settling for something less than you deserve."
Carina looked at her friends, their concern evident. She appreciated their loyalty and their protectiveness, but they didn't fully understand the weight of her family's expectations or her own desire for a stable future.
"I know you're worried, and I appreciate it. But this could actually be a good thing. Maya and I might not be in love, but we're on the same wavelength when it comes to what we want in life. That's more than I can say for my relationship with Lucas right now."
Jo sighed. "We just want you to be happy, Carina. It's hard to see how an arranged marriage could bring you that."
Carina smiled softly. "I know. And I'm still figuring it out. But maybe happiness can come in different forms. Maybe it's not always about love at first sight or grand gestures. Maybe it's about finding someone who understands you and wants the same things you do."
Gabrielle reached across the table and squeezed Carina's hand. "Just promise us you'll be careful. Don't rush into anything. And if you ever need us, we're here for you."
"I promise," Carina said, grateful for their support despite their reservations. "Thank you, both of you. I really appreciate it."
The serious conversation about the arranged marriage slowly wound down, and the three friends began to chat about the other things happening in their lives. Carina was grateful for the shift, needing a break from the weighty topic.
"So, Jo, how's the OB/GYN residency going?" Carina asked, leaning back in her chair.
Jo's face lit up with enthusiasm. "It's been incredible! Exhausting, but so rewarding. I delivered my first baby on my own last week. It was the most amazing feeling."
Gabrielle grinned. "That's fantastic, Jo! Did everything go smoothly?"
Jo nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It did. I was nervous, of course, but everything went perfectly. The parents were so grateful, and seeing their happiness was just... indescribable."
Carina smiled, happy for her friend. "I'm so proud of you, Jo. You're going to be an amazing doctor."
Jo blushed slightly. "Thanks, Carina. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it. Every day, I learn something new, and it feels like I'm making a real difference."
Gabrielle took a sip of her drink, then turned to Jo with a teasing smile. "And how about your social life? Any hot doctors in the residency program?"
Jo rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile. "There are a few, but honestly, I barely have time to think about dating right now. Maybe once things settle down a bit."
Carina laughed. "I can imagine. Residency sounds intense. But knowing you, Jo, you'll manage to balance everything perfectly."
Gabrielle leaned forward, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Speaking of social lives, I met someone interesting at the club the other night."
Jo and Carina both perked up, curious. "Oh? Do tell!" Jo said, grinning.
Gabrielle chuckled. "Her name's Vic. We hit it off immediately. She's smart, funny, and absolutely gorgeous. We spent most of the night talking and dancing."
Carina raised an eyebrow. "Sounds promising. Have you seen her since?"
Gabrielle nodded. "Yes, we went out for coffee the next day. It was nice, getting to know her in a quieter setting. I really like her, but we'll see where it goes."
Jo smirked. "Gabrielle, always the charmer. I'm glad you met someone who seems great."
Gabrielle shrugged playfully. "You know me. I like to keep things interesting. But Vic feels different. There's a connection there that I want to explore."
Carina leaned in, a supportive smile on her face. "That's wonderful, Gabrielle. I hope it works out. You deserve someone amazing."
Gabrielle smiled warmly. "Thanks, Carina. And I hope things work out for you too, whatever you decide with Maya. We just want you to be happy."
Carina nodded, appreciating the love and concern from her friends. "I know. And I'm grateful to have you both in my corner. No matter what happens, it means a lot to me."

Carina had just finished her evening routine and was settling into bed when her phone rang. Seeing Gabrielle's name on the screen, she answered quickly, sensing an urgency in the call.
"Hey, Gabrielle, what's up?" Carina asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
"Carina, I was doing some research about Maya," Gabrielle said, her tone serious. "I found a bunch of articles about her past relationships. There's quite a list, and some of the stories are a bit concerning."
Carina frowned, her heart sinking slightly. "What do you mean? What kind of stories?"
Gabrielle hesitated before continuing. "It seems like Maya has dated a lot of people, and not all the relationships ended well. There are a few mentions of intense breakups and issues with commitment."
Carina took a deep breath, trying to process this information. "Okay, that's... unsettling. But people can change, right? Maybe those were just bad matches."
Gabrielle sighed. "I get that, Carina. But I actually know two of the people mentioned in the articles. They're acquaintances from my social circle. If you want, I can reach out to them and get more details. Maybe they can give us some insight into what Maya is really like in a relationship."
Carina was silent for a moment, her mind racing. She appreciated Gabrielle's concern and the offer to help, but she also didn't want to rush to conclusions based on past relationships alone.
"Thanks, Gabrielle," Carina said finally. "I appreciate you looking out for me. Maybe it's a good idea to talk to them. It wouldn't hurt to get a clearer picture of who Maya is outside of her professional persona."
Gabrielle's voice softened. "I just want to make sure you're making the best decision for yourself, Carina. This whole arranged marriage thing is complicated enough without adding potential red flags into the mix."
Carina nodded, even though Gabrielle couldn't see her. "I know, and I'm grateful for your help. Go ahead and reach out to them. Let me know what they say."
"I will," Gabrielle promised. "And remember, no matter what, we're here for you. You don't have to go through this alone."
"Thank you, Gabrielle. That means a lot to me," Carina said, feeling a bit more at ease. "Talk to you soon."
After hanging up, Carina lay back in bed, her mind a whirl of thoughts. She appreciated Gabrielle's vigilance and the potential insights she could gather from people who had known Maya personally. It was important to go into this arrangement with as much information as possible, especially considering the stakes involved.
As she drifted off to sleep, Carina resolved to keep an open mind but to also be cautious.

Maya sat in the cozy corner of a trendy bar, waiting for her friends Jack and Andy to arrive. The past few days had been a whirlwind of meetings and negotiations, and she needed a break—and some perspective from her friends. When Jack and Andy walked in, she waved them over, a smile spreading across her face. Jack was a fellow attorney at Harris worldwide and had been friends with Maya since they started within months of each other at the firm. Andy was Maya's best friend and worked as a Paramedic.
"There's the woman of the hour!" Jack called out, giving Maya a quick hug before sitting down. Andy followed, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"So, how's it going with the whole arranged marriage thing?" Andy asked, wasting no time.
Maya took a sip of her drink, savoring the moment before diving into the topic. "It's... interesting. I met Carina DeLuca, and she's actually really impressive. We've started talking about terms to make this work on our own conditions."
Jack raised an eyebrow. "Terms? Like what?"
"Well, we both agreed on things like career independence, personal space, and mutual respect. We're trying to approach this practically," Maya explained.
Andy nodded slowly. "That sounds smart, but are you really okay with this, Maya? I mean, an arranged marriage isn't exactly common these days."
Maya sighed, leaning back in her chair. "I know it sounds old-fashioned, but it's not like I've had great luck with relationships on my own. My family's putting a lot of pressure on me, and honestly, Carina seems like someone I could at least respect and work with."
Jack smirked. "So, she's hot, huh?"
Maya laughed, shaking her head. "She is. But it's more than that. She's smart, driven, and we're on the same page about a lot of things."
Andy leaned forward, her expression serious. "I get that you're trying to make the best of this, but are you sure you're not just settling because of the pressure? You deserve to be happy, Maya, not just in a convenient arrangement."
Maya appreciated their concern, knowing they had her best interests at heart. "I'm not settling. I'm being practical. I've had my share of failed relationships, and maybe this could be a different approach that actually works."
Jack took a sip of his beer, considering her words. "I get that, but don't lose sight of what you really want. It's easy to get caught up in making everyone else happy and forget about yourself."
Maya nodded, feeling a mixture of gratitude and frustration. "I know, and I'm trying to balance that. But it's not like I'm jumping into this blindly. Carina and I are both setting boundaries and expectations."
Andy sighed. "Just promise us you'll keep an open mind and listen to your gut. If it doesn't feel right, don't force it."
"I promise," Maya said, smiling at her friends. "Thanks for looking out for me. It means a lot."
As the conversation flowed and the drinks were refilled, Jack leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful look on his face. "Hey, Maya, I came across something interesting the other day. I read an article about Carina and her boyfriend, Lucas. Apparently, they broke up."
Maya's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? When did this happen?"
"Just recently," Jack replied. "It was a small piece in one of those celebrity gossip columns. It didn't give many details, but it said they decided to part ways."
Andy leaned in, curiosity piqued. "That's big news. How do you feel about that, Maya?"
Maya took a moment to process the information. "I'm not sure. On one hand, it might make things simpler if she's no longer in a relationship. But on the other hand, breakups can be messy. I hope she's okay."
Jack nodded. "Yeah, breakups are never easy. But it might also mean she's more open to this arrangement now. Have you talked to her since the meeting?"
"Not yet," Maya admitted. "We've both been busy, and I wanted to give her some space to think things over. But I'll definitely reach out and see how she's doing."
Andy looked thoughtful. "It's a delicate situation. Maybe approach it gently. Show her you're concerned about her well-being, not just the arrangement."
Maya smiled appreciatively. "Good advice. I want her to know I'm here to support her, no matter what."
Jack raised his glass. "To navigating tricky situations with grace and empathy. You've got this, Maya."
They clinked glasses, the mood lightening once more
— — —
Maya took a deep breath and picked up her phone, scrolling to Carina's number. She needed to set up their next meeting and check in after hearing about the breakup with Lucas. With her heart pounding, she hit the call button and waited.
Carina answered on the third ring. "Hello?"
"Hi, Carina, it's Maya. I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing... and maybe set up another meeting to discuss our arrangement," Maya said, trying to keep her voice steady.
Carina's tone was warm but cautious. "Hi, Maya. I'm doing okay, thanks for asking. It's been a bit of a whirlwind, but I'm managing. A meeting sounds good. When are you free?"
Maya quickly glanced at her calendar. "How about this Friday evening? We could grab dinner and talk things over."
"That works for me," Carina agreed. "Let's meet at Vincent's at 7 PM. Does that sound good?"
"Perfect. I'll see you then," Maya said, feeling a mix of relief and nervousness as they ended the call.
Hanging up, Maya's mind raced. Was this a meeting? A date? Both? She paced around her apartment, debating how to approach the evening. Should she dress formally, as if it were a business meeting, or more casually, like a date?
Jack and Andy's words echoed in her mind—balancing professionalism and personal connection was key, but how exactly was she supposed to do that?
She decided to call Andy for some advice.
"Hey, Andy, I need your help," Maya said as soon as Andy picked up. "I'm meeting Carina for dinner on Friday to discuss our arrangement. But now I'm freaking out about whether I should treat this as a date or a business meeting."
Andy laughed softly. "Maya, take a deep breath. It's understandable to feel this way. Why don't you try to find a middle ground? Dress nicely but not too formally. Be yourself. Remember, this is about getting to know each other better, both personally and professionally."
Maya sighed. "You're right. I'm overthinking it. I just want to make a good impression and show that I care about making this work."
"And you will," Andy assured her. "Just be honest and open with her. If you treat it as a mix of both—a chance to connect personally while discussing the practical aspects—you'll be fine."
"Thanks, Andy. I needed that," Maya said, feeling a bit more at ease.
Every time Maya allowed her mind to wander to Carina, she experienced sensations throughout her body that she was sure must just be nerves. Maya had met many beautiful people and dated many beautiful people over the years and although Carina was a very beautiful person she couldn't explain this extra layer of nerves. She had chalked it up to the business decision that lied underneath this arrangement causing the extra pressure.
Maya left her house with enough time to stop by the local florist for a small bouquet of 3 peonies. She wasn't necessarily considering this a date but she had learned to never show up empty handed on the off chance this was more date-like.
Maya arrived first and waited outside for Carina. Carina's car service dropped her off and as she got out of the car, Maya couldn't help but to appreciate her beauty. Standing in heals and a red dress with a slit that was almost to high. Maya committed the image to memory.
Maya presented the flowers to Carina with a slight blush.
"Wow, I didn't bring any wildflowers for you." Carina joked.
"It is perfectly fine, I was taught better than to show up empty handed so the information from last visit proved handy." Maya smiled as she opened the restaurant door.
Maya and Carina sat across from each other in a quiet atmosphere, their drinks untouched as they prepared to finalize the terms of their arrangement. The initial nervousness had subsided, replaced by a mutual determination to make this work on their terms.
"So I have looked at all the data and I do believe this will benefit both companies financially." Maya started.
"I do not want to let my family down and this does seem like the best option to help with the business decisions. Leave it up to our fathers to not be able to come to an agreement with out involving us in marriage." Carina huffed.
Maya pulled out her notebook, flipping to a page filled with notes and ideas. "So, let's make sure we're on the same page. Separate areas in the residency is a good start. We'll each have our own space to maintain some independence."
Carina nodded. "Agreed. That way, we can each have our personal lives without feeling crowded."
"How about the term of the marriage?" Maya continued. "I was thinking we set a timeline. Maybe 1.5 years? If it's not working by then, we can amicably divorce."
Carina considered this, then nodded again. "That sounds reasonable. It gives us enough time to see if this can work without feeling trapped."
"Finances should stay separate," Maya added. "That way, we each maintain control over our own money and assets."
"Yes, I agree," Carina said. "And what about seeing other people? I think it's important that we both have the freedom to date, as long as we maintain the public image of our marriage."
Maya took a deep breath. "I'm okay with that. Discretion will be key, of course. Our families and the public need to see a united front."
Carina smiled, relieved that they were on the same page. "Exactly. We can be honest with each other about who we're seeing, but keep it out of the public eye."
Maya leaned back in her chair, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "I think we've covered the main points. Separate living areas, a term of 1.5 years with the option for divorce, separate finances, and the freedom to date discreetly while maintaining our public image."
Carina reached across the table, her hand resting on Maya's. "Thank you for being so practical about this, Maya. I think we can make this work."
Maya smiled, appreciating the gesture. "Thank you, Carina. I feel the same way. We're setting the terms that work for us, and that's what matters."
They sat in silence for a moment, letting the reality of their arrangement sink in. It wasn't a traditional marriage by any means, but it was one they could navigate together, with respect and understanding.
"To our arrangement," Maya said, raising her cup.
"To our arrangement," Carina echoed, clinking her cup against Maya's.
They were both curious to learn more about each other beyond the surface-level details their families had provided.
Maya started, her tone relaxed. "So, Carina, tell me more about your family. I know your father is pretty influential in the business world, but what about your childhood?"
Carina smiled, leaning back in her chair. "Well, growing up in Italy was beautiful, but it had its challenges. My father was always busy with work, and my mother... well, she had high expectations. But I have a younger brother, Andrew. He's in medical school now, following in our mother's footsteps."
Maya's eyes lit up with interest. "That's impressive. It sounds like a family of high achievers."
Carina laughed softly. "You could say that. What about you, Maya? What was your childhood like?"
Maya thought to herself if Carina was agreeing to this then it was time to let her know about her condition. She shifted in her seat nervously.
"Carina," Maya began, her voice steady but tinged with vulnerability, "there's something important I need to tell you about myself. It's something not many people know, and I feel like you deserve to know, especially given our arrangement."
Carina looked at Maya with curiosity and concern. "Of course, Maya. You can tell me anything."
Maya took another breath, steadying herself. "I'm intersex. It means I was born with a mix of male and female biological traits. It's something I've had to come to terms with over the years, and it's a big part of why I've been hesitant about relationships and the idea of having children."
Carina's eyes widened slightly, processing the information. "Wow, Maya, thank you for sharing that with me. I can imagine it wasn't easy to talk about. How do you feel about it now?"
Maya felt a rush of relief at Carina's open and accepting response. "It's been a journey. Growing up, it was confusing and sometimes isolating. But I've learned to embrace it as part of who I am. It's shaped my resilience and my determination. But it also makes the idea of marriage and children more complicated, which is why I wanted you to know."
Carina reached across the table, taking Maya's hand in hers. "Maya, I appreciate your honesty and trust in sharing this with me. It doesn't change how I feel about moving forward with our arrangement. If anything, it makes me respect you even more for your strength and openness."
Maya felt a warmth spread through her at Carina's words. "Thank you, Carina. That means a lot to me. I just wanted to be upfront, so there are no surprises down the road."
Carina smiled softly. "Life has a funny way of taking us in directions we never expected, doesn't it?"
Maya nodded. "It does. But I'm glad we're taking this journey together. I feel like we can learn a lot from each other."
Carina's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "What do you enjoy doing outside of work, Maya? Any hobbies or passions?"
Maya thought for a moment. "I love running. It helps clear my mind and keeps me focused. I also enjoy reading, especially thrillers and mystery novels. What about you?"
"I'm passionate about photography," Carina said, her face lighting up. "Capturing moments, emotions... it's like telling a story through images. And I love cooking. It's a way for me to relax and be creative."
Maya's smile widened. "That's amazing. I'd love to see your photography sometime. And maybe you could teach me a thing or two about cooking. I'm pretty hopeless in the kitchen."
Carina laughed. "I'd be happy to. Maybe we could have a cooking night sometime. It could be fun."
"That sounds great," Maya agreed, feeling a warm connection forming between them. "I think we're off to a good start."
They continued to share stories, laughter, and insights, discovering more common ground and appreciating each other's differences. The initial uncertainty about their arrangement was slowly being replaced by a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect.
As the evening drew to a close, Maya and Carina felt more at ease with the path they were embarking on together.
"I will work up drafts on these terms we have agreed and send a copy over to you for your lawyer to look at this week," Maya said as they were getting up to leave the restaurant.
"Sounds great" Carina replied
As they exited the restaurant, Carina hugged Maya again before stepping into her car.
Maya felt the twitch in her dick again which had become semi-hard. She stood there with thoughts of Carina in the dress running through her mind but quickly caught herself. "Man I need to get laid if a hug is causing this type of reaction" Maya thought to herself as she walked to her car.

Carina was lounging on her couch, enjoying a quiet evening, when her phone rang. Seeing Gabrielle's name on the screen, she picked up with a smile.
"Hey, Gabrielle! How are you?"
"Carina, I've got some news," Gabrielle said, her tone urgent. "I talked to one of the girls who dated Maya, and she told me something big. Maya is intersex."
Carina listened calmly, knowing Gabrielle was expecting a shocked reaction. "I know, Gabrielle. Maya told me herself."
There was a brief silence on the other end of the line before Gabrielle found her voice. "She told you? And you're okay with it?"
"Yes, she told me," Carina confirmed. "And yes, I'm okay with it. Actually, I'm more than okay. I admire her honesty and strength in sharing something so personal."
Gabrielle was taken aback. "Wow, I didn't expect that. I thought you'd be surprised or upset."
Carina chuckled softly. "I was surprised, but not upset. It's just another part of who Maya is, and it doesn't change the fact that I'm willing to make this arrangement work. If anything, it makes me respect her even more."
Gabrielle hesitated before speaking again. "There's something else. When I heard about it, I realized I was... intrigued. By the thought of Maya having a penis."
Carina's cheeks flushed slightly, feeling a mix of curiosity and excitement. "You know, Gabrielle, I felt something similar. It's not something I've experienced before, but the idea intrigues me too."
"How big do you think she is, I mean is she a grower or a shower?" Gabrielle asked
"I have no idea" Carina blushed slightly
"Do you plan to find out?" Gabrielle continued
"This arrangement is being build on practicality. We have not discussed being sexually active with one another." Carina said as she let out a sigh.
"I bet she is huge, I mean, did you see all the women she has dated. So many of them out of her league." Gabrielle chuckled
"Gabrielle, really she might be my future wife." Carina scolded
Gabrielle laughed, a mix of surprise and amusement in her voice. "Carina, you never cease to surprise me. I'm glad you're handling this so well. But are you sure you're okay with everything?"
"I'm sure," Carina said confidently. "Maya and I have been open and honest with each other, and that's what matters. This arrangement isn't just about appearances—it's about finding a way to respect and understand each other."
"I'm really impressed, Carina," Gabrielle said sincerely. "You're handling this with so much grace. Just make sure you're doing what's best for you."
"I am," Carina assured her. "Thank you for looking out for me, Gabrielle. I appreciate it more than you know."
"Always," Gabrielle said warmly. "Just know I'm here for you, no matter what. And if you need to talk about anything, you know where to find me."
"Thank you," Carina said, feeling grateful for her friend's support. "I'll talk to you soon."

Maya and Carina stood side by side in the luxurious boardroom, the contract they had meticulously crafted sitting on the table before them. The room was quiet, the air thick with anticipation. Across from them, their fathers, Lane Bishop and Vincenzo DeLuca, sat with stern expressions, their eyes fixed on the document.
Maya took a deep breath and began, her voice steady and professional. "Thank you both for meeting with us today. Carina and I have discussed the terms of our arranged marriage and have come up with an agreement that we believe is fair and respectful to both of us."
Lane leaned forward, his brows furrowing. "Let's hear it."
Carina glanced at Maya before continuing. "We've agreed to live in separate areas within the residency to maintain our independence. The term of the marriage will be 1.5 years, and if it's not working by then, we will amicably divorce."
Vincenzo's eyes narrowed slightly. "And what about finances?"
Maya met his gaze confidently. "We'll keep our finances separate. This way, each of us maintains control over our own assets. We've also agreed to see other people discreetly, ensuring our public image remains intact."
Lane exchanged a glance with Vincenzo, both men clearly taken aback by the terms. "This is quite unconventional," Lane remarked.
"Unconventional, but necessary," Carina said firmly. "We want to approach this arrangement with respect and practicality. These terms allow us to maintain our individual lives while fulfilling our family obligations."
Vincenzo sighed, leaning back in his chair. "I can see that you've put a lot of thought into this. But it's not what we had in mind."
"We understand," Maya said calmly. "But these terms are important to us. They provide a framework that allows us to honor the arrangement while also respecting our personal boundaries and goals."
Lane and Vincenzo exchanged another look, a silent conversation passing between them. Finally, Lane spoke, his tone grudgingly respectful. "We'll need some time to think about this."
"Of course," Carina replied. "Take all the time you need. We're confident that this agreement is in the best interest of both our families."
As the meeting adjourned, Maya and Carina felt a mix of relief and tension. They had taken a significant step by presenting their terms, but the outcome was still uncertain.
As they left the boardroom, Carina turned to Maya. "Well, that went better than I expected."
Maya nodded. "I agree. At least they're willing to consider it. That's a good start."
Carina smiled, feeling a sense of camaraderie. "We make a good team, Maya."
"We do," Maya agreed, feeling a surge of determination.

Maya sat at her desk, staring at the draft contract her father had returned. Her eyes kept returning to the new clause inserted by his legal department: if Carina got pregnant, the marriage would last a minimum of three years. Anger and frustration bubbled up inside her. She and Carina had not discussed children, and Maya was adamant against the idea.
Grabbing her phone, she dialed Carina's number, her hands shaking slightly. Carina picked up after a few rings, her voice cheerful. "Hey, Maya! How are you?"
"Not great," Maya replied, her voice strained. "I just got the contract back from my father's legal team. They added a clause about having a child. If you get pregnant, the marriage must last a minimum of five years."
Carina paused, taking in the information. "What? That's absurd! We never talked about children, and I know how you feel about it."
Maya sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Exactly. I'm so angry and frustrated. I don't know why they thought this was okay."
Carina's tone was calm and reassuring. "Maya, take a deep breath. Remember, if we're not sexually active, then we can't have a child. This clause is meaningless in our context."
Maya took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "You're right, but it still feels like a betrayal. It's like they're trying to control something so personal without even consulting us."
"I understand," Carina said gently. "But let's focus on what we can control. We'll talk to them and make it clear that this clause needs to be removed. We're in this together, and we'll handle it together."
Maya felt a wave of gratitude for Carina's steady support. "Thank you, Carina. I needed to hear that. We'll fight this clause and make sure our agreement reflects our wishes, not theirs."
"Absolutely," Carina agreed. "We're a team, and we'll handle this like we've handled everything else. Let's set up a meeting with them and lay out our terms clearly."
"Okay," Maya said, feeling more composed. "I'll contact my father and arrange a meeting. We'll get through this, Carina."
"We will," Carina affirmed. "And Maya, remember, this is our life and our agreement. No one else gets to dictate it."
"Thank you, Carina. I really appreciate your support," Maya said sincerely.
"Always," Carina replied warmly. "I'm here for you, Maya. Let's handle this together."
A few days later, Maya and Carina found themselves back in the boardroom, facing their fathers. The atmosphere was tense, but both women were resolute. They had decided to confront the issue head-on and make their stance clear.
"Thank you for meeting with us," Maya began, her tone firm. "We need to discuss the new clause your legal team added to our contract. The clause about having a child."
Lane and Vincenzo exchanged looks, Lane speaking first. "We thought it was a reasonable addition, given the circumstances."
"It's not reasonable to add such a personal clause without our consent," Carina said, her voice steady. "Maya and I have not discussed having children, and it's not something we're considering. This clause needs to be removed."
Vincenzo leaned back, considering their words. "We included it because we believe it's in the best interest of both families. A child would solidify the bond."
Maya's eyes flashed with anger. "This isn't about solidifying bonds. This is about our lives and our choices. We will not be dictated to about something so personal."
Carina placed a hand on Maya's arm, a calming presence. "We respect your concern for the families, but this is not the way to address it. Our agreement is based on mutual respect and understanding. This clause undermines that."
Lane sighed, rubbing his temples. "I understand your points, but you have to see it from our perspective. We want what's best for you and the families."
"What's best for us is to have control over our own lives," Maya countered. "If this clause remains, we won't sign the contract."
Vincenzo and Lane exchanged another look, a silent conversation passing between them. Finally, Vincenzo nodded. "Alright. We accepted all of the terms you both wanted, this is non-negotiable for us. If you choose not to have a child you do not have to worry about this clause affecting you both."
"What's it going to be?" Lane questioned
Maya looked at Carina.
"We need a moment to discuss this term" Maya huffed and she and Carina went into her office.
Despite their best efforts, their fathers had refused to remove the clause about having a child from the contract. The air was thick with tension as they both contemplated their next move.
Maya broke the silence first, her voice tinged with frustration. "I can't believe they're being so stubborn about this. It's like they don't care about our feelings or our agreement."
Carina sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I know. It's infuriating. But we have to decide what we're going to do next. We can't let this clause define our lives."
Maya looked at Carina, searching her eyes for any sign of doubt. "Do you really think we can make this work with that clause still in the contract?"
Carina met her gaze steadily. "I think we can. We've already agreed to keep our relationship non-sexual, so the clause shouldn't come into play. It's a technicality that we can work around."
Maya nodded slowly, considering Carina's words. "I guess you're right. But it still feels like a violation of our autonomy."
"It does," Carina agreed. "But we have to be pragmatic. We can't let this one clause derail everything we've been working towards. We need to stay focused on our goals and trust that we can handle any challenges that come our way."
Maya took a deep breath, feeling a sense of resolve wash over her. "You're right. We've come this far, and we can't let them win. We'll move forward with the contract, but we'll stay true to our terms and our agreement."
With a sense of finality, Maya and Carina signed the contract in the presence of their fathers. The ink was barely dry when Lane and Vincenzo exchanged satisfied glances and immediately pulled out their phones to call their wives.
"Everything's set," Lane said into the phone. "You can start the wedding planning."
Maya and Carina exchanged a look, a mix of amusement and trepidation. They knew what was coming next.
Maya looked over at Carina, a thoughtful expression on her face. "You know, with everything that's going on, I think we should make an effort to really get to know each other. We're entering into this arrangement, but that doesn't mean we can't build a genuine connection."
Carina nodded in agreement. "I was thinking the same thing. We've been so focused on the contract and the logistics, but we haven't had much time to just talk and learn about each other."
Maya smiled, feeling a sense of relief. "I'm glad you feel that way. How about we set aside some time each week, just for us? No wedding planning, no family obligations—just time to talk and understand each other better."
"That sounds perfect," Carina said warmly. "Why don't we start now? Tell me something about yourself that I wouldn't know just from reading your resume or the media."
Maya chuckled, taking a moment to think. "Well, I'm a huge fan of classic literature. I could spend hours reading Jane Austen or the Brontë sisters. It's my way of escaping from the high-pressure world of law."
Carina's eyes lit up. "Really? I didn't know that! I love classic literature too. 'Pride and Prejudice' is one of my favorites."
Maya's smile widened. "Mine too! I've read it so many times, I practically have it memorized."
Carina laughed, feeling a sense of ease. "Okay, my turn. I'm really into art galleries. While the large galleries and museums are great, I love to stop at the small galleries often just to see what artist they have displayed."
Maya raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "That sounds interesting"
Over the next few weeks, Maya and Carina made a point to spend quality time together. They had regular dinners, movie nights, and even started a book club with just the two of them, discussing their favorite classic novels.
