The following day, Alex and friends were at the mall.
"Can't believe we made that sale," said Nicole.
"It was a close call but we managed to get some good stuff," said Alex as they each carried two bags.
"Get out here, Max Girl!" yelled someone from the first floor while people screamed.
"It can't be," whispered Alex as the three crouched to hide behind the railing and watch what was going on below them.
"Unless you want everyone here to die then I suggest showing your face!" said the woman from the lab who was using wind to cage people in a corner of the bottom floor.
"Sorry guys, the fun is over," said Alex.
"Do what you have to," said Nicole. Alex then created an electric blastwave from holding her hands together that turned the whole mall's power off.
"Looks like she's here," said the man who controlled fire. He was using a small flame to see by.
"Leave them alone," said Max Girl as she appeared from nowhere.
"You have me so let the hostages go," she said.
"Not a chance, we still need them for when the cops show up," said the second man while chewing gum. Suddenly, he spat it at Max Girl who went to dodge but found herself caught in an explosion, sending her flying into a wall.
"You can call me Chew Bomb by the way," said the man as he approached Max Girl where she had landed.
"Let me guess, your ability turns whatever you chew into a bomb," said Max Girl while trying to stand.
"It only explodes once I spit it out," said Chew Bomb before kicking the hero back to the ground.
