Hello, this is my first fanfic so sorry if it's bad I'll try to add a chapter every week. Sorry if there is bad grammar all constructive criticism is welcome. All rights belong to Uncle Rick the idea is mine even if it does resemble other stories. I will answer any questions at the end of the chapters. I also live in Australia and this is written in America... so some stuff might be incorrect. Here you go!

I woke up yawning, then I remembered that it was my birthday, August 18th also the day my life was ruined. I quickly got dressed and flung open my bedroom door forgetting to brush my teeth and enveloped my mum in a hug. My mum is the best woman in the world, her name is Sally Jackson and she makes the best food in the world. I was about to ramble about nonsense to her excitedly but was interrupted by a menacing growl from something behind the door. "What is that?" I asked Mum my mum had a look of terror on her face for some reason "Mum what is that" I asked again. "Run Perseus" my mum ordered. However, my bumbass did not listen to her. "why?" I asked my mum grabbed my face "Run Percy, the Greek gods are real. Your father is Poseidon god of the seas take this" She gave me a pen "Your father wanted you to have this." She gave me a pen "Uncap the pen and it will turn into a sword. Run Percy, go." She said this all rapidly and my ten-year-old brain was buzzing with questions (A/N Percy was born in 2013 and it's 2023 currently I did this because I don't remember how life was before 2015:/) "But I can't leave you here mum" I protested "Run" mum insisted and kissed my forehead. I ran just as the door exploded into blisters and a huge black k9 jumped on my mum "MUM!" I cried "Go" she weakly told me, then the huge midnight black hound growled and decapitated her with one swipe of his/her/something claws. I knew that if I stayed the same fate would await me. So with tears streaming down my eyes. I ran from the scene as fast as my legs would take me. I ran for around 24 kilometres (for all the Americans that is around 15 miles) somehow then turned into an alleyway and slept at the end of the alleyway.

I woke up to the sound of a dog growling I paled as I realized that it was the same hound that killed my mother I remembered her words

' Run Percy, the Greek gods are real. Your father is Poseidon god of the seas take this" She gave me a pen "Your father wanted you to have this. Uncap the pen and it will turn into a sword. Run Percy, go.'

I took a shaky breath and uncapped the pen, it elongated into a beautiful 3 foot long sword made of a metal that I would learn is called celestial bronze. Then the hound charged and it was as if I was born to do this which I probably was. Time seemed to slow down, adrenalin filled my veins. Instinctively I waited until the last moment then I rolled under the beast and stabbed it in the heart. I could feel the adrenaline rush stopping the weird thing was that the monster of a dog dissolved into a gold dust "What the hell" I muttered under my breath. Oh well, at least I wouldn't need to explain the corpse of a huge dog. Time to tackle the next issue I was hungry so I walked into the nearest WalMart and briskly walked to the food istle then I cursed my dumb ass how would I carry the food? I looked at the backpack istle, it was bustling with people. Then I had an idea I looked at the fire alarm and thought 'If I pull the fire alarm then the people would evacuate allowing me to quickly grab a backpack and snatch some canned food, bread and fruit' so that's what I did. I dashed to the fire alarm and when no one was looking I pulled it, the alarms blared and the workers started to evacuate the people but I stayed behind, and snagged the stuff that I needed. Then I ran out the back exit and that was how I lived for half a year.

Half a year later:

So I learned that monsters exist, and also that they want to eat me but I have gotten pretty good with my sword so I can dispatch them to Tartarus I learned that Greek mythology is real so I studied up on it which was a pain with my dyslexia and monster attacks. I also learned that they track me down by my 'scent' which with me being a son of the god of the sea was really strong. I tried rolling in mud, perfume, using soap, and other stuff. I can also control water just how cool is that, breathe underwater, and talk to sea life and members of the equine family e.g. horses, zebras, etc.

I was taking a walk in a forest when I heard them "Gods Luke you are so stupid if you hadn't lost the map we would be on our way to camp!" Someone said "I'm sorry Annie" Said a person who I was guessing was 'luke' and the person scolding him was 'Annie' "Guys stop it!" Said someone else "Arguing is NOT going to make the map magically appear back to us." And that is when I decided to make an appearance "Hello can I help you?" I politely asked, "Do you kids need a map?" They whirled around each drawing a weapon a blond boy withdrew a sword from a sheath at his waist, a blond girl whose hair looked like a princess's drew a dagger concealed in her left sleeve, and finally, a girl with dark hair that spiked up with dark blue strips died into her hair, she wore a Green Day shirt and wielded a spear a shield with the face of Medusa "Who are you" the green day shirt girl snarled "Relax I'm not here to hurt you put your weapons down" I calmly stated. The others looked abashed "Y-you can see them?" stuttered 'Annie' "umm why shouldn't I be able to see them?" I asked confused "You can see through the mist," the 'Luke' kid said. "What's the mist?" I asked curiously. 'Luke' replied "Uhh so you know about the Greek myths?" he asked, I nodded "Well the Greek gods are real and they're living in America" I nodded "So what's the mist?" I repeated, "Wait you're accepting it so easily, why?" "I already know that." I replied, "Are you a demigod?" 'Annie' asked I nodded. The others started whispering among themselves after a while they seemed to come to a conclusion "Well would you like to travel with us?" the girl whose name I didn't know asked I nodded, "Well come with us and we'll explain." They motioned for me to come forth and I complied.

I followed them through the clearing where they sat on a log and motioned for me to sit down. When I sat down 'Luke' started explaining about the mist "Think about the mist this way, the mythological world and the normal world are each a block of metal. When the two blocks of metal collide they make sparks, the sparks are the mist although the mist doesn't work like sparks. The mist changes the mortal mind to make them forget about the incident." "Ok, now can I have your names?" I asked they blushed as they realized that they hadn't introduced themselves "I'm Thalia daughter of Zeus" said the one with the spear. "I'm Luke son of Hermes" said the boy with the sword that looked like a surfer. "I'm Annabeth, don't know my godly parent." said the one with a knife. I said that I was going to go to sleep, as I drifted into the realm of Hypnos I thought over how far I had come since half a year ago.
