Transformers 3: Godzilla vs. Biollante

Chapter 2: War on Cybertron

Earth Wars Trilogy

At some point during the War for Cybertron…

It was the middle of the War for Cybertron, and the home world of the Transformers was growing closer and closer to dying, leaving both the Autobots and Decepticons to plan an exodus of their planet in order for their species to survive. Leading the effort in the Decepticons' exodus was their scientist, Shockwave, arguably the most intelligent Transformer in existence. With the Autobots knowing that Shockwave had knowledge on where an Energon-rich planet was located, Optimus Prime sent his most trusted lieutenant and friend, Elita One, along with her two accomplices, Moonracer and Firestar, to infiltrate and investigate his findings…

"Okay, you two, stay calm and stay quiet. Remember, this is a stealth mission…", Elita One said to Moonracer and Firestar as the three of them had now infiltrated Shockwave's laboratory in Kaon.

"You got it. Just infiltrate Shockwave's lab, download everything he's got documented, and get outta here", Moonracer agreed as they snuck through.

Soon enough, the three of them made their way into the control room of the lab, which was full of computer terminals that Shockwave would often utilize. As they made their way through, however, all three of them heard what sounded like a couple of quiet footsteps behind them before the sound immediately ceased.

"What was that…?", Firestar reacted as she aimed her blaster in the hallway from which they came from.

"Stay frosty, girls, and you two keep your guard up", Elita One ordered. "Just watch the door while I hack Shockwave's little device here…", she said before accessing the main terminal while Moonracer and Firestar aimed their blasters at the hallway in the event a Decepticon found them.

Unfortunately, Moonracer and Firestar began to hear footsteps again, and after that, they saw as one, glowing red optic came closer and closer towards them in the hallway, and the individual eventually revealed himself to be Shockwave, with the entirety of his body now revealed as he walked closer and closer to them. Unlike in the present day, Shockwave's body was noticeably smaller and slimmer than it is now, as his alt mode was that of a Cybertronian jet, rather than a tank, which he required after the Great Exodus.

"Scrap. It's Shockwave!", Moonracer shouted before she and Firestar began firing on him.

As much as the two Autobots tried, their blasts were completely ineffective against Shockwave, as none of them even came close to injuring him. Noticing that Shockwave had arrived, Elita One attempted to rush over and help them stop him, but before she could, Shockwave fired his cannon directly at Moonracer and Firestar, where just one blast from it was enough to send both of them off their feet, on their backs, and injured enough to where they were unconscious.

"No…!", Elita One reacted as she witnessed her two friends get taken out of the fight that easily.

As the smoke from the blast cleared, Shockwave entered the room in front of Elita, now looming over the downed Moonracer and Firestar.

"Your mission was most illogical", Shockwave said to Elita in his monotone voice as he aimed his cannon at her.

"Not today, Shockwave…", Elita One said to herself as she dodged the blast Shockwave fired at her.

Even though Shockwave had both superior strength and firepower compared to Elita, Elita was able to use her speed and agility to easily dodge the blasts from Shockwave's cannon. While dodging, Elita One was able to get closer and closer to Shockwave, and once she was close enough, she jumped up into the air, and before Shockwave could even react, she kicked him right in his one optic, disorienting him while she landed on her feet, behind him.

"Argh!", Shockwave shouted in annoyance as he clasped his optic in pain.

With Shockwave disoriented, Elita One used this as an opportunity to deal out some more damage to him by firing her blasters at him. Even with this effort, the blaster fire had no effect on Shockwave, as his optic was already being relieved of its pain as he began focusing his attention on her again.

Before Elita could react, Shockwave swung his fist at her, hoping to pin her down, but Elita was able to block it. Since Shockwave was much stronger than her, however, she needed to use both her hands to block it as Shockwave kept forcing his fist down on her. Shockwave's arm cannon was still free, however, and with Elita distracted by blocking his fist, Shockwave fired his cannon directly at her abdomen, sending her flying back and hurtling into a wall behind her! After she hit the wall, Elita One collapsed to the ground, on her stomach, not unconscious yet as she tried to keep her bearings, despite her wounds.

"You think that…killing us is gonna be so important, huh?", Elita One sneered at Shockwave. "Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna go out like this, and I'm sure the Autobots will miss me, but even if you kill us all here, it's not gonna make a difference…", she said as Shockwave now loomed over her. "Just you wait…Optimus is going to win this war…with or without me…".

"While I do not take it upon myself to share ideals with Autobots, you are correct", Shockwave replied. "Terminating your lives, while a victory, would not yield any significant results towards the Decepticons' objectives. However, it is because of that factor that you all will have more use, if your termination is halted", he said before punching Elita in her face, rendering her unconscious, like her friends.

At some point later, after a few cycles to be more specific, with Elita One having never reported back from her stealth mission, Optimus Prime, given how close he was with her, took it upon himself to find and save her as soon as possible, along with Ironhide and Ratchet helping him out.

Eventually, the three Autobots reached Shockwave's other laboratory located in the Six Lasers Over Cybertron, which was one of Shockwave's largest, most prominent, and most important laboratories. After searching, they were eventually able to find Elita One, Moonracer, and Firestar, but not in a condition they were expecting. All three of them were hanging to the ceiling with their wrists in shackles as they dangled there.

"Elita…", Optimus Prime said to himself as he relieved her of her chains and took his unconscious friend in his arms. "Ratchet…is she still functional?", he asked his medic with a noticeable edge in his voice.

Ratchet then used his medical scanner to evaluate her condition, before relaying his findings to Optimus. "She's alive…but barely. If we take her back to Iacon now, there is a good chance she will pull through".

"Good. Then we had best return to Iacon as soon as we can!", Optimus Prime declared.

"Hold on, Prime, what about these other two, here?", Ironhide couldn't help but ask.

Normally, Optimus Prime would be the voice of reason in situations like these, reminding his teammates not to rush into action based on their instincts and to take all factors of the current situation into account. With Elita One, however, things were different here, as Optimus cared very deeply for her, and if anything did happen to her, he would never forgive himself, as he has long sworn an oath to protect her, no matter the cost, and that was always why he would often rush into getting her to safety when the situation called for it. Despite this, he knew they could not leave without examining if Moonracer and Firestar were still functional.

Hearing Ironhide's suggestion, Ratchet took a moment to examine both of them, and when he did, he was instantly able to tell what their condition was.

"I am afraid, that just by looking at them, neither of them were able to make it…", Ratchet replied with a somber tone.

"Ratchet…", Optimus Prime pointed towards Moonracer's head, in which at some point, the entire top of her head had been removed.

"That's odd…", Ratchet commented as he noticed it.

Curious, Ironhide undid Moonracer's shackles so Ratchet could examine what had happened to her, and when he did, he noticed something so vile and strange that it made him have an uneasy feeling course within him.

"Strange…Moonracer is not only deceased but…her brain…it's…it's missing…!", Ratchet said after examining her corpse.

"Looks like the same thing happened to Firestar here", Ironhide added, as the top of her head was also missing, along with her brain, as well.

"This does not bode well…", Optimus Prime said. "If Moonracer and Firestar are missing their brains, in which they were removed from their bodies, it could only mean that Shockwave may be up to another one of his sadistic projects…" He continued. "However, while this will bode for further study, it does not change the fact that we must return Elita to Iacon as soon as we can, while we can prevent her from suffering the same fate as our comrades".

"Prime's right. We better high tail it back to Iacon as soon as we can. Besides, I'd rather go without having a run-in with Shockwave today, not because I'm afraid of him, but I'd just feel bad for him with what we'd be doing to him after whatever sick game he's playing here", Ironhide added.

"Indeed, and we should probably take Moonracer and Firestar's corpses with us as well, give them a proper burial", Ratchet said.

"I agree, old friend. Autobots, transform and roll out!", Optimus Prime ordered as the three Autobots transformed into their Cybertronian vehicle modes, with Optimus carrying the unconscious Elita on his truck bed and Ironhide and Ratchet carrying the bodies of Moonracer and Firestar on their vehicle modes as well as they all drove away from Shockwave's laboratory to repair Elita One and give their friends a deserved burial.

Present day…

At some point after the Fall of Maderan, and after arriving on Cybertron, Dinobot ended up being captured by Shockwave, who was now imprisoned in his laboratory in Poly Hex, strapped down to the platform in the laboratory while Shockwave (now having the alt mode of a Cybertronian tank) was preparing the cortical psychic patch, a device that would allow the scientist to peer through the Maximal's mind to see what he knew.

"Do your worst", Dinobot said in a nasty tone. "I can take whatever it is you throw at me…"

"Trust me, you in fact, cannot…", Shockwave differed as he neared closer to him with the cortical psychic patch in his one hand.

Before Shockwave could commence with the procedure, however, he was interrupted due to a distress call coming from one of his Vehicon soldiers just outside of the room he was in.

"Commander Shockwave, we're under attack! It's—", the Vehicon could not finish his sentence, as he was brutally killed by whoever was attacking them in that moment.

"Our procedure shall commence at a later point in time", Shockwave said before unplugging the cortical psychic patch and exiting the room to investigate the attack.

With this, Shockwave immediately exited the room he was in and rushed down the hallway to see where the attack was coming from. Once he reached the end of the hallway and peered into the room where the attack was occurring, he saw as his Vehicon soldiers were being brutally eviscerated by his ancient enemies, the Dinobots, which consisted of five members.

One of the members of the Dinobots was Swoop, a Dinobot who was in his alternate mode of a Pterodactyl as he swooped up and down on the battlefield, dispatching Vehicons with his beak and claws left and right as he kept swooping back down. He was also a rather fun-loving member of the team, having a good sense of adventure, and having an all-around carefree and laid-back attitude.

Another member of the Dinobots was Snarl, the medical officer of the team, who unlike the majority of his comrades, was not in his alternate dinosaur mode, with his being a Stegosaurus. This was because, as the medic of the team, he was still not used to having access to that much strength, and more prominently, accessing his dinosaur mode still made him think about the trauma he endured in order for him to have it. Even without using his Stegosaurus form, Snarl still made short work of the Vehicons around him by tearing them apart with his bare hands and slamming them into the ground.

There was also Sludge, the logistics expert of the team who was in his dinosaur mode of a Brontosaurus, where he used his sheer size to plow through and stomp over the helpless Vehicons in front of him, as well as his long neck to reach over, bite into, and swing the helpless Vehicons around until their bodies fell apart from all the shaking and biting.

Another member of the team was Slug, the muscle of the team with a no-nonsense, tough-guy attitude, who was in his dinosaur form, being a Triceratops. Unlike his comrade, Snarl, and despite the pain he endured to have access to this form, Slug viewed his Triceratops form as a way to channel his rage and show who he really was, a big, stubborn, and angry Dinobot, and using his dinosaur mode, he was effortlessly able to ram his head into the Vehicons around him, tearing them apart as he either threw them across the room or impaled them with his horns. He was also Grimlock's right hand man.

Speaking of Grimlock, he was the strongest and the leader of the Dinobots, as he was a former gladiator of Kaon even before he had access to his alternate mode of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Despite how powerful Grimlock was in his Tyrannosaurus form, he still fought through the Vehicons in his robot mode, as, unlike the rest of the Dinobots, he could only access it if he had enough rage built up within his spark, and while he seemed pretty angry all the time, he did not have enough rage built up within him to access his dinosaur mode yet. Being extremely hard-headed and choosing to face any threats head-on without wasting any time, Grimlock has always viewed Optimus Prime as a weak leader, too afraid to make decisions in the moment and that he often runs when he should fight. Despite all of this, Grimlock still held a lot of respect for the leader of the Autobots, and even with his temper and often coming off as grumpy or angry, he still cared deeply for his Dinobots above all else, as he constantly does what is necessary to keep them safe and reminds them to never underestimate themselves. Given his extreme strength, Grimlock was able to use the size of his muscles to kill Vehicons with just one punch and tear them apart with no effort whatsoever. All in all, it was a pure blood bath as the Dinobots tore apart all the defenseless Vehicons in the room.

Still watching the whole spectacle, Shockwave, even with being known for never feeling emotion, could not help but feel a twinge of fear rush through his spark as the pupil in his one optic dilated at the sight of the Dinobots. Not only did Shockwave know that these Dinobots could tear him apart at any instant, but he knew just how much Grimlock would want to make him suffer, as Shockwave was the one responsible for giving him and his team their dinosaur alternate modes. While this may sound like a positive thing at first, Shockwave performing these experiments on the Dinobots was not pleasant for them, as giving them these forms made them feel as if they were getting torn apart while they were still alive, with there being nothing they could do to stop it, and given just how much hate Grimlock held in his spark towards him, Shockwave knew that he would not hesitate to do the same to him. With this, Shockwave knew the most logical course of action would be to retreat before the Dinobots could find him.

"Bludgeon, I require an immediate Ground Bridge", Shockwave said into his com link.

As soon as Shockwave gave this order, a Ground Bridge materialized right in front of him, followed by the scientist rushing into it and fleeing the scene before the Ground Bridge closed, leaving the rest of the Vehicons to perish at the hands of the Dinobots.

As soon as the Ground Bridge closed from within the hallway, one of the several Vehicons was violently tossed across the room, now missing his right arm. As the Vehicon, now on his back, looked back up, he saw Grimlock standing over him, grunting angrily as his fists were now covered in Energon from all the Vehicons he just killed. Before the Vehicon knew it, Grimlock reached his hands towards him, one hand reaching towards his head and the other towards his arm.

"No…no…NOOOOOO!", the Vehicon screamed in fear just before his head and his remaining arm were grabbed by Grimlock's large hands.

With his hands now wrapped around him, Grimlock killed the Vehicon by brutally tearing his head and his arm clean off his body, killing the Vehicon as his armless and headless corpse collapsed to the ground.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaargh!", Grimlock shouted in rage as he tossed the Vehicon's head and arm aside. "Puny Decepticons…", he sneered as he punched one of his fists into his open hand.

As soon as this Vehicon was killed, the rest of the Dinobots had finished off the remaining Vehicons in the facility, where the five Dinobots were now the only bots present that were left standing and functional.

"Think that's the last of 'em. You alright over there, Grimlock?", Swoop asked his leader as he perched himself on one of the beams sticking out of the wall.

"I'm fine. Just remember what we came for", Grimlock replied in his deep, raspy voice.

"Right. We came here because we got notification of a distress signal. Wasn't expecting we'd find one of Shockwave's laboratories, though", Snarl added. "Shame we didn't end up finding Shockwave, too".

"Old one-eye probably turned tail and left as soon as he knew we were here. Classic Decepticon", Swoop said.

"Shame, I was hoping to finally give that psychopath a piece of my mind", Slug added.

"You and me both, Slug", Grimlock said to his friend. "Search the area, and make sure you do it not in dino mode. That includes you, Slug…"

"Aw, why do you we gotta be in bot mode boss?", Slug asked in an annoyed tone.

"Because we want to make sure Autobot knows we're not a threat", Grimlock replied with a grammatical error, which was another effect that Shockwave's experiments had on him, as he was not as functional in articulating his words anymore.

"Urgh, I guess that makes sense…", Slug conceded before transforming from his Triceratops form into his robot form, followed by Swoop and Sludge doing the same.

"Once you find where signal came from, report back to others", Grimlock commanded as he led his team through the hallway of Shockwave's laboratory.

With this, the five Dinobots split up as each of them investigated the many rooms within the hallway, hoping to find who sent them the distress signal. After a few minutes of searching, Swoop ended up stumbling into the room where Dinobot was still imprisoned on the platform. When he entered, however, he did not take notice of Dinobot at first, but Dinobot instantly fixated his optics on him.

"Hey…Autobot…over here", Dinobot said to Swoop.

"Whoa!", Swoop jumped, startled. "You gave me quite the scare there, bud. Hey guys, I found him!", he shouted to the rest of his team before walking closer to Dinobot. "You know it's funny, I don't think I've ever seen you before, so if you don't mind, you know, before we set you free without thinking, what's your name, and more importantly, are you an Autobot or a Decepticon?"

"Well, you might not know who I am, but I do know who you are, as I have heard of your kind before, so try not to laugh when I tell you my name…", Dinobot replied. "My name is Dinobot, and I am neither an Autobot nor a Decepticon. To be brutally honest, I'm not even from this planet".

"Wait…you say your name was Dinobot…?", a confused Swoop asked.

Before Swoop could question Dinobot any further, the rest of the Dinobots came rushing into the room to see who Swoop had found.

"Swoop, what'd you find?", Grimlock asked.

"Well…I found this guy", Swoop said as he gestured to Dinobot. "You're not gonna believe this, but he said his name's Dinobot, and we are well…the Dinobots…so…totally not confusing at all or anything…", he said with sarcasm.

"Well, I ain't ever seen this bot before. How do we know this isn't some kind of prank or something?", Slug asked as he got closer to Dinobot.

"Hey, take it easy there, Slug", Sludge said as he placed his hand on Slug's shoulder. "I mean, Cybertronians do share names from time to time…"

"That's the thing, though. He says he's not from Cybertron", Swoop said.

"Who are you…?", an intimidating Grimlock asked as he neared himself closer to Dinobot. "And I want more than just your name…"

"Wait…you're Grimlock!", Dinobot said with a bit of a happy surprise in his voice. "I've heard of you before…leader of the Dinobots who led a revolution against Shockwave…after he experimented on you…"

"Okay, now he's just starting to sound like a fanboy…", Slug commented.

"Hate to say it but, Slug does have a point…", Snarl agreed.

"Quiet!", Grimlock shouted. "Let…Dinobot speak…"

"Right. As I said to your friend before, I am neither an Autobot nor a Decepticon, and I am not from Cybertron", Dinobot replied. "Both I and the rest of my kind hail from a planet called Maderan, a planet which is now destroyed because of some religious psychopath. Before that, like Autobots and Decepticons, my planet was locked in a war between two opposing sides, the Maximals and the Predacons. I initially chose to join the Predacons, until I defected to the Maximals, where I earned their trust by giving them the Transwarp Key…"

"Sludge…?", Grimlock asked for the opinion of his logistics expert.

"Well, he's got all his facts right. I'm not too familiar with this kind of stuff, but I do know there was a planet called Maderan, which was divided between the same two opposing sides that he mentioned", Sludge replied.

"I came to Cybertron because I needed to recruit help from the Autobots, a faction of whom I know share similar ideals to us Maximals…", Dinobot said.

"Why do you need our help…?", Grimlock asked, still not sure if what Dinobot was saying was genuine.

"We Maximals need help because a bot by the name of Nova Prime wants access to the Transwarp Key", Dinobot replied. "To be honest, I do not know why he does, but Primal informed me that him gaining possession of it would lead to catastrophic results. Please…I am begging you to set me free so that I may help you to defeat your Decepticon enemies, and so that you can help us against Nova Prime…"

"You…may not be one of us, but you are Dinobot, like us, and if you were imprisoned by Shockwave, then I know one thing for fact…", Grimlock said as he neared his hands towards Dinobot. "Enemy of my enemy…is my friend…", he said before tearing off Dinobot's cuffs, and after tearing off the cuffs on his legs, Dinobot was now freed from his shackles on the platform.

As Dinobot arose from the platform, he realized that he was not able to stand up on his own, as he was still damaged after having been captured by Shockwave. Before he could fall, Grimlock was able to catch him to where Dinobot had his arm around his shoulders for support in standing up.

"Can you walk?", Grimlock asked.

"No. I am still too damaged by having been ambushed by that wretched scientist. Will any of you be able to repair me?", Dinobot asked.

"Snarl is our medic. He should be able to repair you, but first, we take you to base", Grimlock said before he began walking out of the room with Dinobot limping while supporting himself on him.

"You sure this is a good idea, Grimlock?", Slug asked as the rest of the Dinobots followed.

"It feels like no matter how hard we try, Shockwave's always one step ahead. We need all help we can get…", Grimlock asserted.

"Yeah, and this 'Nova Prime' guy sounds like a big deal, I'm sure he could use all the help he could get, too", Snarl added.

With that, the Dinobots, while carrying the wounded Dinobot (the Maximal), left the laboratory in Poly Hex and began making their way back to the Autobot base.

Meanwhile, however, via the Ground Bridge that was activated for him before, Shockwave was able to retreat to his main laboratory in the Six Lasers Over Cybertron. As soon as he returned, he was immediately greeted by a fellow Decepticon, and his second in command while on Cybertron, Bludgeon, a Decepticon whose face bore great resemblance to a skull and his body bearing great resemblance to that of a samurai, mainly with his helmet and his multiple swords. Not only was Bludgeon an extremely skilled samurai, but he also prided himself as a well-accomplished spark hunter, in which he took great sadistic pleasure in slowly torturing his Autobot victims by slicing them to pieces before their sparks slowly fade out and die.

"Welcome back, Lord Shockwave", Bludgeon said in his creepy voice as he made a bowing motion to the scientist. "Has everything gone according to plan?", he asked as he receded from his bowing motion.

"Affirmative. The Dinobots have taken the bait, and it will only be a matter of time until the Autobots arrive here, as they know that this is my main laboratory", Shockwave replied.

"What is your request, Lord Shockwave?", Bludgeon asked.

"Inform the Combaticons to prepare for battle while I see to it that MechaGodzilla is prepared for their arrival", Shockwave ordered before walking away from his assistant in war.

"As you command, Lord Shockwave", Bludgeon responded.

It would seem that, even though Dinobot had been rescued, thanks to the efforts of Grimlock and his team, that the cold and calculating Shockwave, along with his sadistic assistant, Bludgeon, were planning for something that involved those events to occur, and Shockwave knew it would only be a matter of time until the defenseless Autobots would meet their reckoning against his all-powerful MechaGodzilla.
