Chapter 10
Lexa and Clarke drove to the coffee shop in silence. Clarke was too nervous to do anything but look out of the window.
When Lexa pulled into the small parking lot, Clarke let out an excited shriek.
"OMG! I love this place!" Clarke exclaimed. They were currently sat opposite a small, white washed, wooden, building. Clarke smiled again, and went to open her door. She looked to Lexa. "Marylous has THE best coffee in town!" Lexa just smiled, she had found this little place on google. The reviews looked good so she wanted to check it out. Now she was glad she did because the smile on Clarkes face and her excitement was definitely worth it, even if the coffee was bad, she thought.
The two made their way across the street, Clarke was giddy with excitement.
"I haven't had a Marylous in what feels like foooorever!" Clarke dragged out. "The Funky Fanabla is amazing but the Banana Nut Cream is to die for!" Clarke gushed. Lexa loved seeing this excited side of Clarke.
"Well, I guess I should get one of those then." Lexa commented.
"I'll get one and you get the other, then you can try both!" Clarke yelled, grabbing Lexas hand and dragging her into the small shop.
The smell of Coffee hit Lexa instantly. She inhaled. It smelt amazing in here, she thought to herself. Sh could feel her excitement, in trying these coffees, growing by the second, as she watch Clarke get even more excited as she ordered both of the drinks for them. When the cashier said the price and moved the card machine towards Clarke, Lexa swooped in, tapping her card before Clarke had a chance to react.
"Why'd you do that?" Clarke questioned. Lexa shrugged.
"I asked you for coffee, remember?" Lexa said and then continued. "I can't let you pay when I invited you." She smiled and Clarke blushed a little. Before either of them could say anything else, their drink orders were being called out and placed on the counter. Lexa smiled to the young barista and thanked her as she reached for the coffees.
The pair made their way back to Lexas pick-up. Clarke was animately talking about coffee as Lexa open the passenger door for her and held a hand out to help her in. Clarke couldn't help but smile through her coffee excitement and it made Lexa feel all warm inside. She handed one of the coffees to Clarke before closing the door and making her way round t the drivers side and getting in herself.
Clarke waited for Lexa to get situated before she, almost forced her to try the coffees.
Lexa thought it was cute how excited Clarke was about a simple drink.
Lexa looked at her cup of iced coffee, reading Banana Nut on the front before taking a sip.
She was pleasantly surprised with the full flavour that came through.
"Damn! Thats some good coffee!" Lexa exclaims, much to Clarkes excitement.
"Okay! Okay! Try the Funky Fanabla now!" Clarke insisted, switch the coffees over and taking a sip of the Banana one herself. Lexa takes a tentative sip of the next coffee. She smiles.
"It's good! But no where near the Banana Nut! Give me that back!" She laughs reaching to switch the coffees back. Clarke pulls the cup back.
"Annnnnd what if I wanted the Banana one?" She curiously questions, waiting to see Lexas reaction. She decides to flirt a little. Leaning towards the centre of the car, and Lexa. Se almost whispers, "What do I get if I let you have this coffee?" She smirks. Now having Lexas full attention on her. She can see Lexas eyes staring back at her, occasionally flicking down to her lips.
Clarke makes a point of slowing licking her lips. Did Lexa just squirm? She thinks to herself. Clarke decides to push a little further. Teasingly, she leans a further towards Lexa. "Hmmm..?" Clarkes moans, trying to entice an answer from Lexa.
Before Clarke knows whats happening, Lexa is leaning towards her. Her eyes locked on the Clarkes Blue orbs. She pauses her movements. I might be a firefighter but time to play with some fire. Lexa thinks to herself. She mere centimetres from Clarkes lips and honestly, all Lexa wants is to connect her own to Clarkes. She wants to know what Clarkes lips taste like.
"What would you want?" Lexa replies finally, her voice low and sultry as her breath washes over Clarke.
Neither of them move.
Ring... Ring.. Ring..
"Fuuuck.." Lexa groans, unable to hide her displeasure at the interruption. "Hello.." she answers her phone. "Yes... Okay... Thats no problem, I'll be right there. Say 10 minutes?... Okay, great! See you soon!"
"Everything okay?" Clarke questions clearing her throat.
"Yeah, yeah.. That was just the real estate lady. She says someone made an offer on the house. But because I was already booked in to see it today as well, the owners are willing to let me see it and put my own offer in, if it's something I want to do.." Lexa responds, starting the engine.
"Well thats good.. right?" Clarke continues.
"Yeah, its great. I actually can't wait to see the house, the pictures online looked great. I just hope it looks as good in person." Lexa excitedly says. She's puts the truck in drive and starts towards her destination. Excitement filling her. She chances a few glances to Clarke as she's driving. Clarkes feels Lexas eyes on her and turns her head to meat her, its only a moment before Lexas eyes are back on the road but both girls think it..
I should have just kissed her.
