Chapter 6
Author's note: My story will contain some moments from IDW comics. This time is that Knockout and Breakdown are sparkmates.
With Knockout
Knockout was driving toward the place where the race starts. Since Decepticon's arrival on Earth, Knockout asked Soundwave to help him find races. From time-to-time Soundwave surfed internet. This time he found a race in Nevada desert.
Driving on empty road Knockout noticed few cars parked in the middle of the road. Knockout parked next to them, he was forth one.
Other drivers looked at Knockout strangely due to his fully tinted windows, not only side ones but all. That way Knockout could race and drive through cities, it was strange but not unbelievable. Other racers couldn't imagine how hard it must be to drive normally with black windows.
Knockout thought: "Soundwave said there are going to be 7 participants including me. Guess I must wait a bit."
Knockout looked at other racers. First was listening to music, second was doing something with his car engine, maybe some kind of repair.
But Knockouts attention was taken by third one, he was cleaning his car, it was beautiful Lamborghini Aventador, its color scheme reminded Knockout of Decepticons especially all the Vehicons, it was mostly black with purple decals.
This third and Knockout have two things in common, love to see beautiful things and gaining satisfaction through driving as fast as possible.
Knockout thought: "Maybe humanity isn't that bad, guess they are similar us at least psychologically. Interesting that all these humans considered as criminals. They don't seem that bad."
Knockout waited about 20 minutes before three other racers arrived. Soon the race will start. Everyone got their race route.
Knockout thought: "Damn it, why we need to go through the city? I guess I need to ask Soundwave to Groundbridge me after finish line."
Knockout didn't like that idea, most likely it will involve police and lead to chase. He likes being chased because it's like a race, but police have advantage like helicopters or due to their count.
Knockout thought: "How all these humans manage to escape police?"
From time-to-time Knockout watches videos of racers escaping from police. He learned that the more time they chase you the bigger the chance of arrest. Knockout wasn't an idiot, so he connected with Soundwave.
Knockout said: "Soundwave, I just got the route and part of it's going to be in nearest city. I suggest we will encounter with police so can you be ready to Groundbridge me after race?"
Soundwave played a sound of ring in approval.
Knockout thought: "Alright, since I have backup, I can relax and enjoy the race."
After 20 minutes last racers arrived. Everyone was ready to start the race. First racer came out of his car and place some kind of device in the middle of the road. He was the one who organized this race.
It was a simple device with timer, two flashlights that shone red, and one firework. After he returned in his car, device started turning on and of three times and on third one color changed to green and it launched firework.
That way the race started, all cars started accelerating, every racer won't let go their leg from pedal. They drove through the empty road, Knockout was in the middle.
Most of the time he was on third place, he tried to overtake second one, but it was hard. They passed the Desert and on one of the turns Knockout managed to overtake second racer. It took longer that he expected.
Knockout thought: "Damn they have really powerful cars. I thought I will beat them like in any other race. Soundwave found me really hard opponents. Hey, stop try to focus on race, I need to concentrate more."
Knockout searched for any opportunity to overtake first one, but first won't let it happen. They were driving past the forest, half of route is gone. Knockout has less and less opportunities.
For this part of the route first one was defending strongly, he didn't let Knockout overtake, but now race takes place in the city. Knockout knows this city, so he had advantage over his opponents.
On one of the turns first one was too careful and braked harder than needed and Knockout became the first one. Rest of the race was easy, but some police cars noticed racers. They reported to their department about race, so many cars drove to arrest everyone.
Right after Knockout crossed finish point to become a winner, all racers went in disarray. Knockout couldn't understand why they did it. What he didn't know was that all racers had police radios, so they already know that police chasing them.
After some moments he saw 8 police cars, two of them was driving towards him. Knockout was fast to react and accelerated fast from them. He connected to the Nemesis.
Knockout thought: "Oh come on, this can't be real, 8 cars patrolling together and right as we race."
Knockout said in comm-link: "Knockout to Nemesis, Soundwave I need a backup."
Airachnid answered: "Soundwave left for some time. Should I ask him to talk with you?"
Airachnid was asked by Soundwave to take control over communication in his absence. She wasn't pleased with that so the only way she could have fun is to mock Knockout.
Knockout said: "Airachnid police is chasing me, please open the Groundbridge, I don't have time on your jokes."
Airachnid said: "Fine, but you are driving too fast I'm not Soundwave I can't place Groundbridge so accurately. I opened it in next 300 meters after a slight turn, around the forest, that way police won't notice it."
Knockout said: "Thank you"
Knockout was driving as fast as he could, after some moments he saw the Groundbridge. He tried to slow down a bit, but it was too late. He went through portal with all his speed, he almost crashed into Nemesis wall but luckily for him there was Breakdown to catch him.
Breakdown asked: "Knockout are you okay? Do you understand you could injure yourself?"
Knockout was so happy that Breakdown was there for him. He transformed and with a big smile hugged his savior.
Knockout said: "You have no idea how happy I'm that you're my sparkmate."
Breakdown was happy to hear that and hugged back. But was still worried about Knockout's condition. Airachnid couldn't take it any longer and walked to them.
Airachnid said: "You two get a room and get out of my sight, I want some quietness."
With that she walked back to console. Breakdown and Knockout didn't want to annoy her any longer, they didn't know her well but know that she is dangerous. They walked to their room holding hands.
