Note: Sorry for the delay here. I had to get a new laptop because my old one tore up, but hopefully I am back to my Earth/Dimension N projects. To say I have a lot plans for selected episodes would be an understatement. James5, I am glad you are enjoying the Highlander franchise so far.

Chapter Three

"I'm heading out, MacLeod," Charlie announced as he prepared to leave the dojo as Duncan was sitting at the stairway.

"Take it easy, Charlie," Duncan replied.

Charlie walked over to his friend and started to say, "About Asia..."

"Everybody makes mistakes," Duncan cut him off.

"What are you, MacLeod?"

"What do you mean?"

"When I was in the SEALS," Charlie explained, "I saw guys with eyes like yours...the lifers. The ones who'd gone to too many battles and never came all the way back."

"Well, I guess that describes me pretty good," Duncan replied, clearly hiding something from him.

Charlie scoffed before replying, "It don't even begin to describe you, and we both know it."

"You're playing psychologist and detective all in one night, Charlie," Duncan stated as he started to stand up from where he was sitting, "You're pushing your luck."

"Maybe," Charlie replied, "but one day, I'm going to find out what you're all about."

"You might be disappointed," Duncan warned him.

"I don't think so," Charlie stressed, "You walk pretty close to the edge, MacLeod. What are you hiding?"

Duncan turned to face him as he walked towards him, "You don't want to know, Charlie. Some of the people that found out aren't around anymore."

Months Later

Charlie woke up seeing Duncan by his side as his friend immediately greeted him, "Welcome back."

Charlie could remember Duncan taking a bullet at the elevator shaft before being shot himself. Was he dead?

"We're dead," he couldn't help but to say.

"Do I look like an angel to you, Charlie?" Duncan asked before telling him, "We're alive, both of us."

"I saw you take one in the heart," Charlie stated, "I know I did."

"Charlie..."

"Tell me...I'm wrong."

"You're not wrong, Charlie," Duncan assured him, "you saw what you saw."

"What are you, MacLeod?" Charlie asked, "What in God's name are you?"

"It's hard to explain," Duncan answered.

"Try. This time, don't say it's nothing," Charlie insisted, "I want you to tell me...before I die, MacLeod."

"You're not going to die, Charlie," Duncan assured him before everything went black again.

The Present

Charlie looked on in surprise as he paced the room. This was a surprising revelation, and saying that alone was an understatement.

"So, let me gather all this information straight," Charlie finally spoke up as he faced Duncan, "you are immortal, and you have lived for 400 years, correct?"

"That's correct," Duncan nodded.

"That's why you couldn't die when you took that bullet," Charlie stated.

"And I'm not alone," Duncan stated, "I'm not the only immortal out there. In fact, Tori and Richie are also immortals, and so is Amanda, the one you just met."

"Well, that explains why Richie was a fast healer," Charlie replied before he paced the room, processing the news.

"I promised I'd tell you the truth one day," Duncan stated as his friend was pacing the room, "and here it is."

"I always knew there was something weird about you, MacLeod," Charlie faced his friend, "Now, it all starts to fit. I assume there's a reason you don't tell people about this, right?"

"Right," Duncan nodded before explaining, "usually, mortals are not supposed to learn about immortals, but sometimes, it can't be helped, and sometimes people can handle it, sometimes people can't."

"Don't worry," Charlie assured him, "I can keep a secret."

"Thanks, man," Duncan replied.

-Beginning-of-a-New-Life-

Duncan was relieved that things were good now that Charlie knew that he was immortal. He had hoped to have told him eventually, and was glad he was able to do so. Suddenly, Duncan sensed the Buzz.

"What's wrong?" Charlie asked.

"The Buzz," Duncan answered, "Immortals sense it whenever another immortal is nearby."

"Is that a good thing?"

"That depends."

Suddenly, Amanda arrived, appearing injured.

"Amanda?!" Duncan exclaimed in shock, catching her in his arms before she could hit the floor.

"What the hell?!" Charlie echoed his own surprise.

"What happened?" Duncan asked.

"Mac..." Amanda said in between breaths, "Felicia...she..."

She died in his arms.

"Is she dead?" Charlie asked.

"Only temporary," Duncan answered, "The only way an immortal dies for good is if they lose their head."

"Literally?!" Charlie exclaimed in response.

"Literally," Duncan nodded before he glanced around nervously, "She mentioned a name I'd hope I never hear again. Come."

Charlie helped him carry Amanda to the elevator.

-Beginning-of-a-New-Life-

Amanda gasped, waking up on a couch. She found herself at Duncan's loft as she looked to see him and Charlie at the loft talking. They immediately noticed and looked at her.

"Looks like she's back from the dead," Charlie stated.

The two men walked over to her.

"I'm glad I got to you when I did," Amanda stated.

"What exactly happened?" Charlie asked.

"Who attacked you?" Duncan added, "Was it who I think you mentioned?"

"She called herself Felicia Martins," Amanda explained, "She told me to give you a message. She's coming, she's not alone, and you won't be lucky this time around, her words, not mine."

A pause of silence filled the room as Duncan looked apprehensive upon hearing about that name, "I knew it."

"Who's Felicia Martins?" Charlie asked.

"Immortal, but unlike us, she's evil, bad news," Duncan answered before asking Amanda, "Does Richie know she's back?"

"She didn't say," Amanda shook her head before she glanced at Charlie, "What about him?"

Duncan glanced at Charlie, following Amanda's glance.

"Hey, you don't have to worry," Charlie assured her, "like I told MacLeod, I can keep a secret, if that's your concern."

"Thanks," Amanda sighed with relief.

"I just wish you told me earlier about this, MacLeod," Charlie stated.

"I never told you before because people close to us die," Duncan explained, "and mortals are typically not to supposed to learn about immortals."

"I guess I understand," Charlie nodded before asking Amanda, "How long have you been immortal?"

"For a thousand years now," Amanda answered.

Duncan looked around for a moment, "I better warn Richie and Tori right away."

"You think she'll do something to them?" Amanda asked.

Duncan remembered the duel he had with Felicia at the beach two years ago, remembering what she said to him about Richie, "I guess I'm gonna have to kill this kid."

"Tori's never met Felicia either," Duncan explained, "but she's about to meet her. Felicia will try something, especially to Richie. I wonder how she'll react once she finds out he's now immortal."

"Let me guess: Felicia targets people you care about," Charlie asked, "that's her MO?"

"Ding ding ding ding ding!" Duncan exclaimed in response, "That's her MO as you said. Even Tessa knew she's bad news."

"But Tessa's dead," Amanda replied, "so Felicia can't go after her."

"I know," Duncan nodded, "it's Richie I'm concerned about. I just have this feeling she will do something to him."

"This Felicia sounds dangerous," Charlie quipped.

"She is," Duncan stated, "Better steer clear from her."

"I'll make note of that," Charlie replied calmly, "In the meantime, you make that call to Richie."

-Beginning-of-a-New-Life-

Keogh was walking down the streets, on his way to leave Seacouver. He was thinking about Jill and what happened last week. Jill Pelentay ended the relationship upon her learning about his immortality. However, he refused to accept her rejection, stalked her, threatened her friends and even nearly beaten a guy to death for merely speaking to her.

Even when Jill ran him over, he didn't accept the break up. Not even when Duncan, Richie or Tori intervened. Keogh wanted Jill, and he would not take no for an answer. Everything escalated when Keogh finally broke into Jill's home. She threatened suicide as she saw no end to her situation. Keogh got between her and Duncan when he tried to help, which led Jill to fall to her death.

In grief fueled paranoia, Keogh felt MacLeod let Jill die on purpose and blamed him for what happened, leading to a duel. Duncan proved to be the better fighter and disarmed Keogh.

Keogh demanded, "Finish it, MacLeod because if you don't, then I'm coming for you!"

Duncan tossed the sword out of Keogh's reach before he responded, "Then you come for me."

Now, Keogh had planned to leave Seacouver by daylight after spending the week thinking things through.

Being pulled from his thoughts, Keogh sensed the Buzz. He turned around to see a goth looking woman eyeing him.

"Hello," Keogh smirked at the woman.

"You must be immortal too," the woman stated.

"Yeah," he nodded in response, "I was just plannning to leave town. Why don't you join me?"

"Nah," the woman shook her head, "I'm on a job."

"On a job?"

"I'm hired help to take care of an enemy."

This caught his attention as Keogh eyed her with curiosity, "Really now?"

"You're curious, aren't you?" the woman asked.

"Yeah," he answered.

"I'm out for MacLeod's head."

"MacLeod?!"

"So, you know him too, huh?"

"Who doesn't? He was my teacher and he let my woman Jill die last week!"

"Oh no," the woman replied, "that's terrible. You poor thing. Who's Jill anyway?"

"A mortal woman," Keogh explained, "She was beautiful, yet she broke up with me, but I wasn't willing to let her go."

"And MacLeod let her die as a result?"

Keogh nodded.

"You poor thing," the woman held him in a seductive manner, "I bet she was a pretty young lady, yeah?"

"Yeah," Keogh nodded slowly.

"Well, since I want revenge on MacLeod too," the woman continued seducing Keogh, "why don't I help you while I'm at it?"

Keogh smirked happily, turned on by her seduction, "So, what's your name?"

"My name is Felicia," the woman introduced herself, "Felicia Martins, and you are?"

"David," Keogh answered, "David Keogh. So, where do we start?"

"We start by letting my boss know we have a new addition to the plan," Felicia stated.
