After liberating the Under from Venus and snagging and purifying the latest Shadow Pokémon, Wes and Rui went back to Phenac City, looking over their next plan.
"That building we came across before getting dragged to the Under has to be the Shadow Pokémon lab. The lab Team Shadow doesn't want us anywhere near," Wes said.
"Didn't you say we would find another way of going in the lab, Wes?" Rui pointed out.
"I did. We'll have to go in through the main gate," Wes said.
"You're right. But the problem is we don't have the key to the mai-" Rui then realized they had the solution to their predicament. "Wait, I think we could use our Keyblades to get in."
"I hadn't forgotten. Also, we don't know what Shadow Pokémon we could be dealing with inside. Just about anyone could have one," Rui said.
"You did, but it's only for an emergency. I mean, it's not like we're breaking into a bank or anything. Besides, it's our only shot. Also, we don't know what other Shadow Pokémon we could be dealing with. For all we know, some innocent Pokémon could fall victim to the Shadow Pokémon process right now. And that's something we don't want," Rui said. Wes thought for a moment and he agreed with her.
"You have a point, Rui. The more we wait, the more Team Shadow and the Organization can have an edge against us. We can't afford to sit around and wait for the next Shadow Pokémon to come our way," Wes said.
With that said, Wes and Rui went to their ride and used it to get to the Shadow Pokémon lab. They stepped off and they look right at the gate.
"You wanna do the honors, Wes?" Rui asked.
"The use of the Keyblade was your idea, Rui. You should have it," Wes said. Rui smiled at how considerate Wes is being. She summoned her Star Seeker and used it to unlock the main gate. When a locking sound is heard, the gate opened up for them. "Nice one."
"Thanks," Rui said, dismissing her Keyblade. "Now, we just have to go through the lab the old fashioned way."
"Agreed. We can't rely on our Keyblades more than we should. The Heartless will be the only exception," Wes said as Rui nodded with agreement. They went to one of the doors and they saw it was locked. They went through the other door and they went to the other door and they saw there was another door. They saw it required a card key to get through. "Well, this is a bust."
"Maybe we can use the machinery in here. One of them should activate an electronic lock," Rui said.
"Good thinking, Rui. Maybe, in here," Wes said as he entered the side. He pressed a button, activating an electronic lock and gaining them access. He pressed some other buttons, only to see nothing happened. "Nothing."
"Well, we'll have to go in the other door," Rui said.
"Yeah, it should have opened by now," Wes said. Wes and Rui stepped out and they went to the other opened door on the left.
Knowing they'll need to be ready, Wes access his Pokémon Box and he placed Meganium, Ursaring, Altaria, and Yanma on his team at first. He could make another change if he needed to.
"Which way do we go?" Rui asked.
"We can take that door to the right because that one seems to be locked. And as a reminder, we only use our Keyblades against the Heartless," Wes said.
"I hadn't forgotten. Also, we don't know what Shadow Pokémon we could be dealing with inside. Just about anyone could have one," Rui said.
"You're right. Also, if there are Pokémon that hasn't been turned into a Shadow Pokémon yet, then we'll have to stop them before it happens," Wes said.
Rui agreed with Wes completely since she knew no Pokémon deserves to be used for a dangerous scientific experiment. So, they went to the door on the right and searched for a switch to enter the other doorway. When they entered inside, they checked out the door in the middle of the room,but they couldn't access it. They figured Team Shadow has a card key to unlock it. They checked by the doorway and opened another electronic door.
"This has got to be it," Rui said.
"Agreed," Wes said, pressing the switch. Outside, the other door opened. They headed out of the door they came in and they walked over to the other door ro begin their next mission. Upon entry, Wes and Rui looked around, but there were no signs of Team Shadow peons or Heartless; at east not yet. They looked around for some clues, like the card key needed to open the locked door. They came across some stairs and climbed down the steps. They looked around and they saw a single scientist talking to himself.
This is discrimination. Why do they single me out for these extra assignments? There's still packing left for the move out of this lab..." The scientist grumbled.
"So, you're abandoning ship, are you? I figured that's what you'll do to keep yourselves from being caught.
"Wha-wha-wha-who are you? You're suspicious! You must be intruders!" The scientist said. The scientist took out two Pokéballs and threw them. "Voltorb! I choose you!" His Pokéballs opened and two Voltorb emerged from inside. Wes took out a Pokéball and a Great Ball and and threw them.
"Meganium, Ursaring! Go!" Wes called out.
"Spark, the both of you!" The Scientist ordered.
"Ursaring! Use Slash! Meganium! Body Slam!" Wes ordered. Ursaring slashed at one of the Voltorb as Meganium slammed its body on the other one. He called his two Voltorb back.
"What did I do to deserve this?" The scientist asked. He grits his teeth in anger as Wes called back Meganium and Ursaring. "Bah! You'll regret seeing me!" He ran off. In his haste, he dropped the card key. Wes picked it up.
"Now, we have what we need to go on further," Wes said.
"That means, we have them right where we want them!" Rui said.
"Yeah, but it won't be long until they know we're here. But we can catch them before they get away," Wes said.
Wes and Rui stepped out and went through the first door. Wes used the card key to access the door and entered inside. They went down to the elevator. They were in the main lab and they looked around for any clues. There were some doors that they couldn't get through due to them being locked from a certain side. Wes and Rui went towards another door that acquired a card key, but the one they just used is useless. Wes and Rui noticed another scientist.
"Okay... We can dump this data... Let's see now..." The scientist said, doing his thing.
"Dump what data?" Rui asked. He growled and turned around.
"What? Quit annoying me. You'd better get ready, or Master Ein will..." The scientist paused when he looked at Wes and Rui. "Huh?!" He then realized Wes and Rui were right in front of him. "You're not the lab staff!" He took out two Pokéballs and threw them. "Magnemite, Electrike! Go!" His Pokéballs opened and they came out to battle. Wes took out his two Pokéballs and threw them. "Espeon, Umbreon! Go!" His Pokéballs opened and out came Espeon and Umbreon.
"Electrike! Use Thunder Fang! Magnemite! Electro Ball!" The scientist ordered. Electrike charges at Espeon while Magnemire fired Electro Ball at Umbreon.
"Espeon! Use Psychic on Electrike! Umbreon! Use Feint Attack on Magnemite!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Psychic on Electrike and sends it flying as Umbreon disappeared, making Magnemite's Electro Ball miss completely. Umbreon lands a tackle onto the Magnet Pokémon, reulting in a knockout. The scientist called them both back and he took out one more Pokéball and threw it.
"I choose you, Chinchou!" The scientist shouted. His Pokéball opened and his Chinchou emerged from inside. "Thunder!" Chinchou fired Thunder right at Umbreon!"
"Psychic!" Wes ordered. Espeon uses Psychic to block Chinchou's attack and sent it back at the Angler Pokémon. Chinchou manages to absorb its own attack with no problem.
"Fool! You think my Chinchou can be hurt by its own electric power? That's what having Volt Absorb for an ability can do," the scientist said.
"Then, how about this? Psybeam and Dark Pulse!" Wes ordered. Both Pokémon fired their attacks at Chinchou, hitting it at once. The combo attack results in a knockout. He called back his Chinchou.
"What's this? I don't have time for this!" The scientist said. "You two! If you don't vacate the premises, Master Ein will do terrible things to you!"
"If you're trying to scare us off, then you'll find out that we don't scare that easily," Wes said.
Wes and Rui took their leave of the scientist and went to aother section of the lab. They came across an elevator. They figured it could use it, but a Team Shadow peon showed up and blocked their path.
"Oh, hey! Intruder alert!" The Team Shadow peon said. He took out two Pokéballs and threw them. Out came an Aipom and a Furret. Wes took out two of his Pokéballs and threw them.
"Yanma, Altaria! Go!" Wes called out. His Pokeballs opened and out came Altaria and Yanma. Rui looked directly at Aipom and saw the black aura.
"Wes! That Aipom's a Shadow Pokémon!" Rui said.
"Then, Aipom's my target!" Wes said.
"Aipom! Use Shadow Break on Yanma! Furret! Use Ice Punch on Altaria!" The Team Shadow peon ordered. Aipom rushes at Yanma with a Shadow Break while Furret came at Altaria with an Ice Punch.
"Dodge it!" Wes called out. Yanma and Altaria managed to avoid their attacks. "Yanma! Use Air Slash! Altaria! Dragon Pulse!" Yanma unleashed Air Slash and Dragon Pulse at Furret, knocking the Long Body Pokémon out. He called back his Furret and took out another Pokeball and threw it.
"Remoraid! Go!" The Team Shadow peon called out. His Pokéball opened and his Remoraid came out. "Water Gun!"
"Yanma! Use Pounce on Aipom! Altaria! Use Moonblast on Remoraid!" Wes ordered. Yanma's speed had increased and it successfully pounces on Aipom, while Altaria fired a Moonblast, knocking out Remoraid. He called back his Remoraid and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Castform! I choose you!" The Team Shadow peon called out. His Castform came out to battle. "Use Rain Dance!" Castform summoned rain clouds and it started to rain. Castform has changed into its Rainy Form. "Use Weather Ball!" Castform has fired Weather Ball at Yanma, but it turns out to be a water attack due to the rain.
"Detect!" Wes ordered. Yanma uses Detect to avoid Castforms's Weather Ball. "Use Pounce on Castform!" Yanma pounces on Castform this time. "Use Air Slash!" Yanma unleashed another Air Slash and knocked Castform out. He called back Castform. "Altaria! Use Moonblast!" Altaria fired Moonblast right at Aipom.
"Shadow Break!" The Team Shadow peon ordered. Aipom rushed at Altaria and land hit on the Humming Pokémon, knocking it out. Wes called back Altaria and took out Umbreon's Pokéball and threw it.
"Umbreon! Go!" Wes called out. Umbreon came out to battle against the Shadow Aipom. "Dark Pulse!"
"Shadow Break again!" The Team Shadow peon ordered. Umbreon fired Dark Pulse onto Aipom. The Long Tail Pokémon was still standing, so Wes took out another Pokéball and converted it into a Snag Ball. He threw it and Aipom flowed inside it. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Wes's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if wants to keep Aipom with him. He chose to send Aipom to his ride.
"Why am I the loser?" The Team Shadow peon asked in disbelief.
"You tried to beat me with a Shadow Pokémon and I whooped you," Wes said. He took off, running away. Once the battle was over, Wes called back his Pokémon. He and Rui entered the elevator and went down to the lower level. On the way down, Wes has exchanged Meganium, Yanma, Ursaring, and Altaria for Piloswine, Heracross, Sudowoodo, and Hitmontop.
There, they came across some Pokémon in cages.
The caged Pokémon consisted of a Charmeleon, a Wartortle, an Ivysaur, a Kecleon, a Pikachu, an Ekans, a male Pyroar, a Drowzee, a Hitmonchan, a Hitmonlee, a Donphan, a Copperajah, a Dratini, a Drapion, a Rhyhorn, a Krookodile, a Tauros, an Alolan Persian, a Marshtomp, a Combusken, a Grovyle, Vigoroth, a Sirfetch'd, a Grimer, a Dewgong, a Vileplume, a Bibarel, a Watchog, a male Unfezant, a Haxorus, a Salamence, a Gyarados, a Braviary, a Scrafty, a Roserade, a Zebstrika, a Liepard, a Seismitoad, a Monferno, a Prinplup, a Grotle, a Servine, a Pignite, a Dewott, a Braixen, a Quilladin, a Frogadier, a Riolu, a Nidoking, a Nidoqueen, a Spearow, a Seadra, a Galarian Slowking, a Butterfree, a Goodra, a Gogoat, a Pangoro, a Malamar, a Kingler, a Crawdaunt, a Dartrix, a Torracat, a Brionne, a Thwackey, a Raboot, a Drizzile, a Floragato, a Crocalor, a Quaxwell, a Clodisre, a Lopunny, a Cacnea, a Klawf, a Tinkaton, Cyclizar, a Revaroom, a Cetitan, a Baxcalibur, a Grimmsnarl, a Hatterene, a Mimikyu, a Ribombee, an Alolan Marowak, an Excadrill, a Mandibuzz, a Lairon, a Hippowdon, and a Steelix.
"You don't think-" Rui paused.
"I do. They're going to make Shadow Pokémon out of these Pokémon here," Wes said.
"Unacceptable! We gotta get all these poor Pokémon out of here before they're turned into Shadow Pokémon, too," Rui said.
"You're right, Rui," Wes agreed, summoning his Colosseum of Darkness. "I know I said we use these on the Heartless, but there is always an exception or two. Time to make a jailbreak!" He uses the Colosseum of Darkness to unlock the cages.
With that done, the imprisoned Pokémon began to stampede out of their imprisonment. A scientist screamed as the Pokémon trample all over him, allowing the Pokémon to escape. Once the Pokémon were gone, he weakly sat up.
"Oh, the higher-ups are going to have my head on a silver plate for this," the scientist said.
After liberating the Pokémon, Wes and Rui have gone even further to the lab where they're approached by another scientist.
"Hey, now... You're not suppose to be in the lab without your lab coat!" The scientist said before he took a good look at them. "...Wait a minute... Your faces aren't familiar..." He gasped. "Intruders!" The scientist took out two of his Pokéballs and threw them. "I choose Electrode and Magnemite!" The two Pokémon emerged from inside. Wes took out two Great Balls and threw them.
"Piloswine, Heracross! Go!" Wes called out. Both Pokémon emerged from inside.
"Magnemite! Use your Magnet Bomb on Piloswine! Electrode! Spark on Heracross!" The scientist ordered. Both Pokémon launched their attacks at their respective opponents.
"Piloswine! Dodge it and use your Stomping Tantrum! Heracross! Use Focus Blast!" Wes ordered. Piloswine avoids Magnemite's Magnet Bomb and repeatedly stomped on the ground, hitting Electrode. Heracross unleashed Focus Blast and struck the Magnet Pokémon on contact. Magnemite was knocked out. He called back his Magnemite and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Magneton! Go!" The scientist called out. "Use your Flash Cannon! Electrode! Use Spark on Heracross!" Electrode rushes at Heracross with another Spark as Magneton fired Flash Cannon.
"Use Blizzard!" Wes ordered. Piloswine fired Blizzard, knocking out Electrode and doing some little damage onto Magneton. "Brick Break!" Heracross came at the Magnet Pokémon and lands a Brick Break, resulting in a knockout.
"This stinks," the scientist said, calling back his two Pokémon. Wes called back Piloswine and Heracross. "It doesn't even matter that you won, because it's already too late. We have nothing left here."
"We already liberated your experiments, so you have no Pokémon left to turn to Shadow Pokémon," Wes said.
He and Rui went up the stairs and they're confronted by another scientist.
"So, you're Wes, aren't you? The word is you've been wreaking havoc with our plans!" The scientist said.
"If you go and turn Pokémon into your own tools for war, then you better believe it," Wes said.
"Then, allow me to educate you properly about what happens to anyone who interferes with Team Shadow's goals," the scientist said. He took out two Pokéballs and threw them. "Electrode, Magneton! I choose you!" Both Pokémon emerged from inside, ready to battle. Wes took out two Great Balls and threw them.
"Sudowoodo, Hitmontop! Go!" Wes called out. Both Pokémon emerged from inside, also ready to battle.
"Electrode! Thunder on Sudowoodo! Magneton! Tri-Attack on Hitmontop!" The scientist ordered. Electrode sends Thunder right at Sudowoodo. Magneton fired Tri-Attack at Hitmontop.
"Sudowoodo! Dodge it! Hitmontop! Detect!" Wes ordered. Hitmontop uses Detect to avoid Magneton's attack as Sudowoodo avoids Electrode's Thunder. "Hitmontop! Use Triple Kick on Magneton! Sudowoodo! Rock Slide!" Sudowoodo unleashed Rock Slide and sends them right at the two Electric-type Pokémon.
"You impudent little! Electrode! Use Wild Charge! Magneton! Flash Cannon!" The scientist ordered. Electrode charges at Hitmontop with electricity erupting from its body while Magneton fired Flash Cannon.
"Hitmontop! Detect! Sudowoodo! Dodge and use Low Sweep on Magneton!" Wes ordered. Hitmontop uses Detect to avoid the enemy attacks as Sudowoodo jumped out of the way and gave a low sweep kick onto Magneton, knocking it out. The scientist called back He took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Magnemite! Go!" The scientist called out. His Magnemite came on out. "Use Magnet Bomb on Sudowoodo!"
"Low Sweep!" Wes ordered. Sudowoodo came at Magnemite with a Low Sweep and lands a kick. Magnemite was knocked out.
"Electrode! Wild Charge again!" The scientist ordered.
"Rock Slide!" Wes ordered. Sudowoodo unleashed Rock Slide and struck the Ball Pokémon on the mark, resulting in a knockout.
"No havoc, please," the scientist pleaded, calling his Electrode back. "The Shadow Pokémon that were already made have been transported out already. Battle all you want. There's no stopping our Shadow Pokémon plan now!"
"We'll stop them," Wes said. He and Rui spotted a key. Knowing it'll lead a way down, he grabbed it as he and Rui walked off. They went up the elevator to the previous floor and headed for the gate and used the key to get through. And that's when they were stopped by a female Team Shadow peon.
"Uh-huh, you're not supposed to be in here!" The female Team Shadow peon said. She took out two of her Pokéballs and threw them. "Nuzleaf, Houndour! Go!" Her Nuzleaf and Houndour emerged from inside, ready to battle. Wes took out two Great Balls and threw them.
"Heracross, Hitmontop! Go!" Wes called out. Both Pokémon emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Heracross! Megahorn! Hitmontop! Triple Kick!" Heracross charges at Nuzleaf with a Megahorn while Hitmontop gave Houndour three kicks, knocking it out. Nuzleaf was still standing. She called back her Houndour and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Carvanha! Go!" The female Team Shadow peon called out. Her Carvanha emerged from inside. "Nuzleaf! Use Bullet Seed on Hitmontop!" Nuzleaf fired Bullet Seed at the Handstand Pokémon.
"Detect!" Wes ordered. Hitmontop uses Detect to dodge Nuzleaf's Bullet Seed. "Use Triple Spin!" Hitmontop spins around and lands a trio of kicks on Nuzleaf, resulting a knockout. She took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Murkrow! Go!" The female Team Shadow peon shouted. Her Pokéball opened and a Murkrow emerged from inside. Rui looked right at Murkrow and she saw the black aura.
"Wes! That Murkrow is a Shadow Pokémon!" Rui said.
"Gotcha," Wes said.
"Murkrow! Shadow Sky!" The female Team Shadow peon ordered. Murkrow summons a purple cloud and it began to rain light particles. Carvanha, Hitmontop and Sudowoodo are hit by the light particles.
"Shadow Sky? What does that do?" Wes asked.
"It's a weather-based Shadow move that makes it rain Shadow energy and deals damage to any Pokémon except for the Shadow ones. But that's not all. Murkrow! Use Shadow Storm!" The Team Shadow peon ordered. Murkrow flapped its wings and whips up a purple tornado and sends it right at its opponents.
"Dodge it!" Wes called out. Sudowoodo and Hitmontop ran to avoid the Darkness Pokémon's attack. "Hitmontop! Use Vacuum Wave on Carvanha!" Hitmontop on Carvanha, knocking it out. She calls her Carvanha back.
"My Murkrow is more than a match against your two Pokémon," the female Team Shadow peon said.
"I took on Shadow Pokémon that actually were more threatening than Murkrow, and you're looking at them," Wes said.
"We'll see about that! Murkrow! Shadow Storm!" The female Team Shadow peon ordered. Murkrow flapped its wings and unleashed another Shadow Storm. It came so fast, it struck both Hitmontop and Sudowoodo before Wes could say anything.
"Rock Slide, Sudowoodo!" Wes ordered. Sudowoodo unleashed a Rock Slide.
"Dodge it, Murkrow!" The female Team Shadow peon said. Murkrow tried to dodge Sudowoodo's attack, but was quickly struck by the rocks. Seeing it as his chance to snag Murkrow from her, he took out a Pokéball and converted it into a Snag Ball. He threw the Pokéball at Murkrow, making it wobble around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Wes's Pokémon Box goes off, so Wes sends Murkrow right to his ride. "You might be young, but you know what you're doing." She took off, leaving Wes and Rui back to their mission.
