Meanwhile in the city, crowds of people cheered happily at the lunar New Year's festival, Mei was in the food truck trying to make dumplings but the filling spilled out making the dragon girl groan. "I feel like this would be easier if I had fingers." Mei said looking at the mess.
"Thank you! Great happiness and prosperity this lunar New Year!" Pigsy said handing a customer their order.
"Mei sweetie, is it just me or does Pigsy seem...more stressed out than normal." Tang said turning to look at his husband smile was strained, his body covered in layers of sweat, and a vein bulging from his forehead while visibly shaking.
"isn't MK supposed to be working today?" Tang askedk, the pig demon growled, turning to his husband
"YES TANG SHE IS, WHERE IS THAT BRAT CAUSE SHE SURE AIN'T HERE!" Pigsy yelled at the scholar.
"She's with the Monkey King. She said, 'New Year, New MK! I'm gonna take my training to a whole new level'" Mei mimicking what her best friend said whilst grabbing a mop and posing with it standing on the counter.
Tang sweat dropped turning to look at Pigsy, who was glaring at Mei. "Gimme that!" He shouts, taking the mop from Mei and snapping it in half.
"Yeah 'New year, new MK, keeps acting like this and she's gonna be newly unemployed!" Pigsy grumbled angrily.
"Stop it Pigsy, you don't mean that, if anything MK can take all the time she wants, after all this is her first Lunar New Year's after she became the Monkie Kid." Tang scolded his husband, however it didn't seem like he was paying attention.
He opened his mouth to say something but stops when a shadow over cast him, he looks up, eyes widening and shrieking at the towering mountain of various sweets and toys, piled on top of him.
"Good cheer and happy new years!" Sandy greeted with a big smile. "Look at all these delicious little goodies, I've got enough to share." Sandy said handing Mei and Tang some of things sweets.
"Oh, Thanks Sansy." Mei said smiling at the water demon.
"So uhh, where's the little lady?" Sandy asked scratching his head Pigsy growls, popping his head out of the pile.
"Would you guys please screw around somewhere else! I've got a business to run! So if ya ain't gonna help, go bother someone else's business!" Pigsy growls.
"Look! I think the parade is about to start!" Mei yells pointing ahead." They rush off to go see the parade. Sandy hoists Tang and Mei on his shoulders to get a better view.
"Oh, man! MK's really missing out on all these awesome floats!" Mei says. "There's the dragon. Oh, and the monkey!"
"Yeah, and there's the spider!" Sandy calls out causing them all to look at him in confusion.
"Spider?" Tang Questioned his giant blue friend. "Pfft. There's no spider in the zodiac. It's probably just an eight-legged rooster or a-" He cuts himself off as they all see a giant spider float.
One of the spider-bots toggles the lever and the tarp flies into the air revealing the Spider Queen and her army.
"It's the Spider Queen!" The gang yells.
"Would you look at that? Everyone here to celebrate the Year of the Spider! Go let them know their Queen is back," The Spider Demoness says as the other Spider Demons and bots take off.
Everyone runs off, screaming. Unfortunately, the Spider Demons and bots catch up and infect everyone. Meanwhile, the Spider Queen shoots out webs and builds her spider mech.
"Run!" Mei shouted and they all ran for their lives.
Back on the mountain the five watched the fireworks go off in the sky. "Happy New Year!" Wukong and MK shouted in unison, jumping up happily, with the youngsters gasping in awe.
Macaque smiled looking up as well, but he wore noise canceling headphones due to his sensitive hearing.
"Fireworks!" Wukong cheered, grinning. "Over a millennium and fireworks are still the best thing humans have invented!" Monkey King said grabbing another mooncake from the basket and taking a bite from the treat.
"These are the bestmooncakes ever!" Rumble exclaimed, taking a bite of the mooncake, the she monkey noticed Savage was stuffing his face. "Quite eating it all, you fat monkey!" She scolded her brother. Savage gulped and rolled his eyes.
"Hey you snooze you loose.." He grinned, The two started bickering again. Macaque chuckled, his smile faded away when he looks back up at the sky.
"What the?" The tanned simian said confused taking off his headphones, the rest followed his gaze and saw that the fireworks were gone.
"Hey, what gives?" Savage frowned.
"What happened to the fireworks?!" MK questioned standing up.
"That's weird," The dark furred monkey frowned, he and his golden counterpart standing up next to the kids, who were both frowning at the lack of New Years cheer. "I thought the fireworks aren't supposed to stop until midnight."
Taking a look through his Golden Vision, Monkey King gasped when he spotted the giant Spider Mech, tearing through the city, "It's Spider Queen! she's tearing through the city in some massive mech."
"Say What!?" MK growls, cracking her neck a bit. "Alright, I'll take care of this mess." MK said pulling out her staff and leaps off the cliff. But Monkey King grabbed her wrist, causing the teen to yelp in surprise, Monkey King flung her over his shoulder, onto his somersault cloud.
"What the?"
"Nobody messes with our New Years, let's go!" He picked Macaque up bridal-style, and with that they all took off at lightning speed.
The sound of people screaming could be heard in the distance as they approached the city as smoke rose up in the air as the large spider mech continued to walk sown the street. Monkey King, Macaque, and MK soon made it to the city.
"Huh, guess Spider Queen finally crawled out of her cesspit." Monkey King said with a grin.
MK looked down and watches as spider mechs attacked innocent people making her shriek, her arms tightening around Monkey King's waist nearly suffocating him and making the great sage almost drop Macaque.
"Eek! spiders, no, get them away, get away!!" MK shrieked, scrambling up to his head, this nearly caused Monkey King to lose control of his cloud.
"Princess, calm down!" Macaque exclaimed holding onto his husband. Monkey King grunts as MK was clinging to him. "Get off, MK!"
They managed to land on the roof, albeit not gracefully.
Wukong groaned and he rubbed his head then directed a glare towards MK, who sheepishly sweat dropped. Macaque glanced at them and huffed has he dusted himself off then crossed his arms over his chest.
"Bud, if you can't handle a little spider, how are you meant to stop that?"
"I-I'm sorry guys. I—"
"Look, You stay here, Me and Macaque will handle this." The great sage looked down at the twins, "Rumble, Savage, Stay here with MK, Keep her safe." He ordered.
"Yes Sir!" They nodded, saluting.
MK looked saddened by this, she wanted to help too. "Wait, But I can still— She was cut off by a gust of wind as Monkey King and Macaque took off towards the mech. "...Help."
"That's okay, Everyone is scared of something." Rumble patted MK on her leg, reassuring her. "Savage is scared of girls."
"Hey!"
The two simians landed down in the Spider Mech's throne room, the demoness responsible for all the destruction, turned to them with a nast smirk, "Ah Monkey king! Come to see lil ol' me?" She asked innocently, lying down as she kicked her legs in the air, the monkey demon laughing at her as he glared.
"Well we were having a lovely New Years on the mountain, when a certain spider interrupted," Macaque growled, summoning his shadow staff, ears splitting into all six instead of their usual two.
"Liu' Er Mihou? Why I'm surprised seeing you here?" She asked, shocked to see him of all people here.
"Yeah well, I was in the neighborhood, thought I drop by to see the festival, you know." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Yeah, Didn't think you were so desperate for attention Spider Princess." He countered, making the queen sit up and snarl at him.
"It's Spider QUEEN subhuman!" She snarled at him, glaring at the king.
"Whatever," The Monkey King deadpanned, rolling his eyes with a groan.
"Thought I'd have to deal with that Monkie brat before I got to play with you, Sun Wukong." The eight-legged demon coyly grinned. "But since you're here, I can destroy the both of you!!"
Slamming her legs down, the arachnid queen blew out all the lights, flames glowing dark as Macaque scoffed, eyes glowing, "You've might have forgotten, but the darkness is my home, this little trick of yours doesn't work."
Of course, the lack of fear from the two simian's pissed Spider Queen off, who let out a cry and charged at them, the two joining paws and disappearing into the shadows.
The demoness left a crater where they once were, with her two massive claws, crying out in pain when she was hit from behind, by Macaque's spiked staff. The female slammed into a column, blood boiling at the smirk displaying on Wukong's face.
"Nice swing, Macaque." He grinned.
"Thanks. C'mon out princess, you know I can hear you~" The Shadow trickster laughed mockingly.
The sounds of whispers caught their attention, Wukong's eyes widening in horror at the familiar sound, going to warn his husband, "Macaque wait!"
But it was too late, Macaque had already charged at the little black hair girl, freezing in terror when he recognized who it was, "No..."
As the girl looked up, flashes of memories ran through the two simian's head, memories of fighting her and of the massive shadow monster that came afterwards. This left them vulnerable, allowing Spider Queen to tackle the pair, knocking them both out and tying them up.
The webs began to spark up with the power of the two simians, gold and purple dancing across the mech as the pair was drained of their magic, sending out waves of energy as the demoness laughed triumphantly. MK gasped in horror, she dispelled her Golden Vision, unable to comprehend what she'd just seen.
Monkey King and Macaque been taken down?
MK felt tugging on her shirt, looking down at the shadow monkeys with worried expressions. "MK? What's wrong?" Savage tilted his head in innocent confusion.
"Did they win? Did they beat Spider Queen?" Rumble asked.
"Guys, We need to leave, Now." Was all they got as a response, the teen giving her no time to speak as she summoned the staff, using it to vault over towards a safer place.
