Little is currently known about the Hydra type Viper. It was derived from the mark III viper. It has an FTL. It is also the largest viper known to have been built. The ship uses d-pockets to store weapons, and fuel loads. The capacity of this interdimensional space is 50,000 pounds; giving it a payload that approaches that of a heavy bomber. It's guns is mounted in the nose instead of the wingtips. The wingtips house dradis and targeting pods.

The ejection seat is revolutionary and uses FTL drive technology. Little more is known about it.

The Hydra is designed to work in networked nodes of 3, 7, or 13 fighters. The communication ports of are the valve (vacuum tube) analogue design. Each set of tubes is known to be calibrated to a specific human pilot, making them extremely difficult to hack by anyone. Prolonged use of this control system by any human can create excessive fatigue. Rotation of pilots is recommended.
