In the kitchen...
Uraraka grabbed what she needed in order to make a good meal for tomorrow's dinner date. Luckily, Midoriya went straight to bed after dinner. Bakugo grabbed a recipe, and Uraraka's eyes shined when she saw it.
It was teriyaki salmon with white rice and cooked vegetables.
"It sounds amazing! Are you sure Izuku won't notice?" Uraraka asked him.
"Trust me. When Deku goes to bed after training, he's out like a light," Bakugo said to her with a slight laugh.
Bakugo felt his heart flutter when he talked about Midoriya, but he ignored it since it was just Uraraka's feelings.
Uraraka felt a little weird he mentioned him and clenched her fists. She then realized that it was just Bakugo's feelings getting in the way.
"Yeah. That's true," Uraraka said back with a smirk, "He doesn't like having me over so late and tries to go to bed before curfew."
"Seriously? What a nerd," Bakugo said with a slight smile.
"Yeah..." Uraraka said back and noticed Bakugo's feelings started to fade away.
She looked at the recipe and got the things they needed to make it. Luckily, they already had salmon that needed to be made. Bakugo grabbed a couple of pans and got them ready to start cooking. Once Uraraka pulled out the vegetables, Bakugo started chopping them up pretty quickly on a chopping board. Uraraka was so impressed with how well cut all of the vegetables were. He didn't even take that long to cut them all.
Bakugo showed her what to put on the salmon once he placed it into a container. He told her to marinate it until they were done with the rest of the vegetables. She put all of the ingredients on the salmon and thought it was too much teriyaki. Bakugo let her know that it should be covered in it so it could soak it up. Once it was all taken care of, Uraraka covered it and put it in the fridge.
Uraraka was surprised at how patient he was with her as went back and forth on what to cook and prepare. She smiled, feeling like she was actually doing pretty good.
Bakugo showed her how much rice to cook and recommended cooking double serving just in case they needed more. Uraraka measured the right amount and poured it all into a rice cooker. Bakugo even helped her use the rice cooker, but she at least knew that pretty well. He directed her over to the frying pan and told her to use a little bit of sesame oil on it.
She did that, and they put all of the vegetables into it once it was hot enough to cook on. She got a little nervous that she might burn it, but Bakugo said just keeping stirring it. He even put a tiny bit of water in it and covered it with a lid. He explained that it helps to cook it faster. They used some of the leftover teriyaki sauce and seasonings to pour onto the vegetables once it was cooked for a while. Uraraka somehow didn't make it too mushy or too undercooked.
It was cooked really well.
"Wow! That's really good," Uraraka complimented, "You really do know how to cook."
Bakugo didn't say anything, and decided to take out the salmon. She noticed that he didn't seem to care one way or another if he was a good cook or not. He just liked doing it, and for some reason, it made her happy. Something about it seemed to calm him down and just enjoy some time with her.
"Now you can either cook this now or before dinner tomorrow," Bakugo said to her, "I'd recommend cooking it tomorrow, then the salmon will have more time to marinate."
"I'll go with that," Uraraka said back with a smile, "Izuku's going to love this!"
It was still weird seeing himself get excited about a surprise date with Midoriya, but he was kind of getting use to it at this point. He was glad that things were starting to settle down. Once he actually got to relax and hang out with her, he didn't mind her company. If anything, she was pretty easy to get along with. She wasn't annoying and loud like Ashido can be sometimes, and she wasn't shy and awkward like Jirou was. He never noticed how relaxing it was around her until just now.
"Is something wrong Bakugo?" Uraraka asked him.
Bakugo snapped out of it and looked away feeling embarrassed for a moment.
"I-It's nothing! I-I just..." Bakugo said, not knowing what to say to her.
Uraraka looked at him with Bakugo's face. She looked curious and tilted her head, which made things more awkward and cringy.
"Don't look at me with that face! It's really weird!" Bakugo cried out.
Uraraka gave him a knowing look, which made Bakugo regret saying that to her. She smiled at him, and he could tell that she was really liking this.
"Oh? You don't like the fact that me and Izuku like each other?" Uraraka teased with Bakugo's voice.
Something about her saying that with his voice was so cringy and awkward that he made him blush a little. Even hearing him say his first name was a little bizarre for some reason. Then he remembered what their situation was and a smile grew on his face.
"That's fine. You can have him. He's so annoying and always all over me," Bakugo teased back.
Uraraka felt her cheeks warm up from how cringy and weird that sounded. She just heard her own voice say that out loud.
They looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh. Something about it made them laugh so hard, that it caught everyone's attention. They all stared at them and wondered what they were doing back there. Some of them even cringed at how weird this was.
"They were both cooking. Together," Kaminari said to them, "Isn't that a little weird?"
"No. If anything, this is a good thing," Iida said back, "Kitsune did say that they could switch back with her help or if they understand one another better. They might be back to normal sooner than later at this point."
"He's right," Yaoyorozu said to them, "They should be doing this. It'll help them go back to normal. Besides..."
They all looked at them, and Yaoyorozu smiled seeing them laughing together. Some of them were actually happy just seeing them smiling.
"It's kind of refreshing seeing them finally getting along."
In Class 1-A's classroom...
Uraraka got nervous to ask Midoriya on a private dinner date. She's asked him out before, but because of their... situation, something about it made it more difficult and awkward. She didn't want to ask him in front of people in school. She definitely didn't want rumors of Bakugo asking out Midoriya on a date when he already had a girlfriend. She would never hear the end of it from Bakugo.
After classes, she knew now would be a good time to do it. It was only their classmates around, but they weren't even paying attention to Midoriya at the moment. Bakugo sat in Uraraka's seat, glancing at Uraraka. He was a little uncomfortable watching her, but for some reason, hoped things would work out. He just didn't want things to get out of hand with their classmates, especially since they were still in school.
Uraraka sat in Bakugo's seat and hesitated to get his attention. She was about to tap him on the shoulder, but pulled back. Bakugo's feelings weren't as annoying this time around, so she was happy about that. That alone made her feel more confident about asking him out. So she tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned around to see Bakugo's face. It took him a minute to remember that it was Uraraka and smiled at her.
"H-Hey Ochaco," Midoriya said to her, "Do you need something?"
Uraraka sat there for a moment and felt her cheeks heating up. She looked up at him and surprisingly felt her heart flutter this time around. She realized now that she hadn't felt this way in a while. It felt somehow pretty good, and she didn't want it to stop.
"Actually Izuku... I-I was wondering..." Uraraka said as she trailed off, "D-Do you wanna... go out...? I made dinner for tonight... It can just be for you and me..."
Uraraka was a little nervous to look at him. Once she did, he looked a little thrown off for a while since Bakugo was the one that sat there, not her. Uraraka didn't blame him if it felt a little awkward or uncomfortable to him. Bakugo was only friends with him, and he wasn't exactly the type to do this for Midoriya. She noticed that he was blushing from her asking him out and tried to shake it off.
"Umm... W-Won't Kacchan get mad at you for doing this? I thought he didn't want us to date during this whole thing," Midoriya asked her, clearly a little nervous about it.
"Actually, he helped with dinner last night," Uraraka explained to him, "He's a little weird about it, but he's okay with us having a small dinner date. I had a lot of fun making it actually. Bakugo really knows what he's doing when it comes to cooking."
"Yeah. He's always been a really good cook," Midoriya said back, "He really said all that? That's so unlike him. Are you sure that you're okay with this?"
Uraraka looked at Midoriya and looked at his hand and held it gently. It was weird seeing Bakugo's hand when she held it, but she really wanted to do this. She really missed him and just holding his hand made her realize that this might not go back to normal as quickly as she thought. She smied and looked up at him.
"I am. I would love to do this with you Izuku. I really miss you," Uraraka said to him with blemish across her face.
Something about her smile didn't feel awkward or cringy. It felt like Uraraka and not Bakugo. Midoriya smiled back and held her hand tighter, missing her as well.
"I miss you too Ochaco," Midoriya said back, "I'd love to go on a date with you."
Uraraka couldn't help but smile and really hoped that things would work out between them during their date. Everyone had noticed Uraraka asking him out on a date, but didn't want to say anything. Jirou even noticed Kaminari and Mineta laughing together, but they tried to keep quiet so Midoriya and Uraraka wouldn't hear any of it. Bakugo noticed them and fought back the need to float them to the ceiling.
Bakugo was just glad that he could relax and let them go out for a while.
In Gym Gamma...
Uraraka and Bakugo hero trained with the rest of the class instead of each other. Considering what happened last time, they didn't blame Mr. Aizawa for splitting them up. Uraraka trained with Kirishima and Kaminari while Bakugo trained with Midoriya and Ashido. He felt like it was weird training with Midoriya at first, but soon he started to notice how well Uraraka's quirk works with his.
Ever since he got that Black Whip quirk, he noticed that her upgrades are very similar to it. He could tell after hero training the other day that she clearly based it off of that. She did confirm it after all while they were training together.
Bakugo used Uraraka's quirk to leap over Ashido once she got close enough. He floated down to the floor and landed a lot better than usual. Ashido tried to shoot acid at him, but he dodged her and went right for her. Ashido didn't expect that, and she tried to throw more acid. Uraraka dodged and weaved around her acid and made his way over to her. Ashido tried to avoid him, but he and grabbed her wrist, making her float. What she didn't expect was Bakugo to pin her down like Uraraka usually would.
"What the?! How and when did you learn to do that?!" Ashido cried out.
"Uraraka taught me a few moves when you guys weren't looking," Bakugo said to her with a smirk, "These moves were much easier to learn than I thought, especially with Uraraka's quirk."
Midoriya then came in and tried to get Bakugo away from Ashido by using Black Whip. He dodged it by getting off of her and floated up in the air.
"Come on Deku, you can do better than that!" Bakugo cried out with Uraraka's voice.
Midoriya flinched when he heard Uraraka's voice call him Deku. He snapped out of it and aimed right for Bakugo. He floated there, waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Soon enough, Midoriya shot out Black Whip and somehow dodged them. He almost got grabbed by it, but he managed to avoid it. Bakugo then aimed Uraraka's gauntlet at a pillar nearby and shot it at it. He launched towards it as Midoriya tried to grab him with Black Whip. Bakugo could tell that he was trying to get him down so he wouldn't have the upper hand.
Bakugo couldn't help but smile as he looked down at Midoriya.
"What's wrong? Can't catch me Deku?" Bakugo asked him with a smirk across his face.
Bakugo didn't see Midoriya's Black Whip coming at him soon after that. It grabbed him from high up and pulled him down to the floor. Bakugo didn't have anything to grab onto so he came in pretty fast at Midoriya. Soon enough, he slammed into him and Midoriya didn't expect him to tumble onto the floor. Everyone noticed Bakugo slamming into Midoriya, especially Uraraka. They all ran over to them, and Ashido checked on them to Midoriya and Bakugo, worried that they were hurt.
"Are you two okay?" Ashido asked them, "You guys took quite the tumble there."
Bakugo checked his head, and it felt like he hit the floor pretty hard. He then looked up to see Midoriya on top of him with his arms on both sides of him. Their eyes locked onto each other, and Bakugo felt his heart pounding from how close he was. Something about it felt really good, which freaked him out. He felt his face turn red, and Midoriya snapped out of it once he remembered who it was that was underneath him.
Class 1-A were all staring at them, even Uraraka felt a little weird seeing them together like that. She knew that nothing happened, but seeing herself with him still felt weird at times. This was definitely one of those times.
"Ooh! Bakugo and Midoriya are having a moment," Mineta said to them, "It looks like Uraraka might have some competition."
Bakugo pushed Midoriya off of him and went straight for Mineta. Bakugo looked really red as he raised his fist, ready to send him up to the ceiling. Something about him with Uraraka's angry face made Mineta run away from him.
"Come back here you little pervert!" Bakugo cried out as he raised his fist, "There's nothing going on between me and Deku! I can't believe you would even say such a thing!"
Uraraka looked at Bakugo and soon Mr. Aizawa stopped them both with his scarf. She looked back at it Midoriya and noticed that he looked a little out of it. His face was red, and she could tell that he was still thrown off by the whole thing. She walked over to him and reached out to help him. She felt herself hesitate to help him, but she knew that it was just Bakugo's feelings getting in the way.
"Are you okay Izuku? That looked like it hurt," Uraraka asked with Bakugo's voice.
Midoriya hesitated to reach out to her, but he took her hand anyway. He was still looked really red in the face as Uraraka helped him up. She couldn't blame him if things were still awkward between them, but then she remembered their dinner date tonight. She smiled and held his hand tighter.
"I can't wait for our date tonight Izuku," Uraraka said with a smile.
Midoriya felt himself relax once he remembered who it was that helped him out. He smiled back, even if he was still blushing quite a bit.
"Y-Yeah. I can't wait," Midoriya said back.
"Okay. I think that's enough hero training for tonight," Mr. Aizawa said to them as he dragged Bakugo and Mineta by his scarves, "I just need Uraraka and Bakugo to come here for a moment."
He unwrapped his scarf around Bakugo and kept it tight around Mineta. Uraraka and Bakugo noticed Kitsune coming in, and they knew where this was going. If they could switch back now, then that would make Uraraka even more happy considering the date was coming up soon. Bakugo got ready, and they both stood there with Kitsune. She looked a little nervous, and they wondered if they could pull this off.
"Okay. Are you two ready?" Kitsune asked them.
Bakugo and Uraraka shared a look and tried to relax a little. Uraraka let out a sigh, and Bakugo shook his hands to get himself to relax. Soon enough, they closed their eyes, and Kitsune placed her hands on their shoulder. Kitsune did as well, and her hands glowed blue with an electrical current. Soon enough, her eyes soon opened with glowing eyes just like last time. It seemed to take a while for something to happen, and Kitsune looked like she was struggling to switch them back.
Class 1-A worried about her and their friends as they stayed focused on switching back.
Then Uraraka's eyes opened, and they were glowing blue just like Bakugo's last time. For some reason, Bakugo was having a hard time concentrating on switching them back. He looked a little flustered, and some of them could tell that Uraraka's feelings were getting in the way.
Before they both knew it, Kitsune's quirk zapped them. They collapsed onto the ground, feeling a little winded. Everyone ran over to them, trying to help them up.
"Are you two okay?" Midoriya asked them, "You almost had it this time around."
"Yeah. I could feel it," Uraraka said back, "It felt... weird though."
"This is getting to be a lot harder to switch you two both," Kitsune explained to them, "Your feelings are getting in the way of switching you back. If not done soon, I might not be able to switch you two at all. You might have to resort to the natural way soon. Hopefully it'll happen sooner than later."
"What do you mean? Why can't you switch them yourself?" Iida asked her.
"Their feelings are starting to become a part of them. If not done soon, there's not much I can do," Kitsune explained.
Uraraka and Bakugo's eyes widened and was shocked to discover this. She looked over at Bakugo and felt guilty for whatever he was going through because of her feelings for Midoriya. Even Bakugo's feelings were starting to bother her, but as much as Bakugo.
Bakugo noticed Midoriya right away and couldn't help but lash out.
"Deku! You did this!" Bakugo yelled out, "If it wasn't for you, we would've been switched back by now!"
"H-How is this my fault?!" Midoriya cried out.
"Are you serious?! Uraraka's feelings keep getting in the way of everything! Hero training, school, lunch! Every time you look at me, my heart is racing!" Bakugo cried out right in front of everyone.
Gym Gamma was silent, and Bakugo stood there realizing what he had just said. His face turned red, and his eyes grew wide. Everyone was shocked to hear this, especially Uraraka. She didn't even notice that she reacted that way to Midoriya until he brought it up. Midoriya looked at her, and she blushed profusely. Something about him finding out how she felt about him brought up a weird feeling coming from Bakugo. She thought that maybe he was even jealous or maybe it was something else. She felt like it wasn't about Midoriya, but maybe someone else. She couldn't tell, but it felt weird.
Then she caught a glimpse of Kirishima and felt something coming over her. It was subtle and barely there, but something about it made her heart flutter.
"Kacchan... I..." Midoriya said, trailing off.
Bakugo could tell that he felt a little uncomfortable and gritted his teeth in frustration. He looked back at Kitsune, and then Uraraka and knew that things were different now. Whatever they had to do now to get back to normal, it had to be to understand one another. He didn't even know where to start with that and turned to leave Gym Gamma.
"Whatever. It's not like we can do anything about this," Bakugo said as he left everyone behind.
Uraraka wanted to say something, but she felt like there wasn't much to say. All she wanted to do is leave him alone and maybe he'll cool down a little. She felt bad for him and felt like she wanted to do something for him. Something to help him feel better and cheer him up. She had never thought about doing something like this before for Bakugo of all people, but it felt like the best thing to do for him.
Uraraka didn't know where to start.
