In Class 1-A's dormitory...
Uraraka asked for the dining room to be reserved for the dinner date between her and Midoriya. Their classmates all ate dinner while Midoriya got ready. She set it up all by herself and followed the instructions with the marinated salmon. Bakugo wrote down what to do and how to make the salmon. It was a lot easier than she thought it would be. She even managed to not burn it. It actually looked crispy and delicious which made her smile.
She set up the table with her amazing teriyaki salmon, vegetables and white rice. She looked down at her plate and was surprised at how amazing everything looked. Something about it just felt so satisfying that she felt so relieved to see it all together. She grabbed a thing of sparkling cider that she got during grocery shopping for their dinner date that got canceled.
Once things were ready, she covered up her dinner with lids so it wouldn't get cold. She sat down and waited for Midoriya. She looked down and remembered how weird it felt to be getting dressed up as Bakugo. He had nice clothes, but it was still weird. She wore a dark grey vest over an orange collared, button down shirt. She wore grey, baggy pants with a brown belt and shoes to match. It wasn't something she'd normally wear, but it was good enough.
She really wanted to wear a nice dress, but she knew everyone would never stop laughing at poor Bakugo. She decided to give him a break since he was already upset tonight.
Uraraka let out a sigh and still wondered what to do for him. She wanted to help him out somehow, but she knew that he wasn't easy to please. Whatever it was, she hoped that she'd come up with something soon.
Then she heard someone come out of the elevator and stood up. Her eyes lit up when she saw Midoriya looking really nice in a pink collared, button down shirt and wore a dark grey vest over it. He had a red tie around his collar that tucked into the vest. His pants were black and baggy with a brown belt around the hip with his iconic red shoes to match.
Uraraka was happy that she didn't find him annoying tonight because of Bakugo's feelings. She felt it a little, but it wasn't as strong as it was a while ago. She didn't know why, but she didn't question it and kept going with the date.
Midoriya looked at her, and she could tell that he was trying so hard not to be uncomfortable about this. She still felt that she wasn't exactly herself, but she really wanted to do this. She really appreciated that he came.
"H-Hey Izuku..." Uraraka said to him, "Thank you for coming. I really appreciate it."
"Of course. How could I turn down a meal from you?" Midoriya said back with a smile on his face.
Uraraka smiled and sat down in her seat. Midoriya walked over and sat in his. Uraraka tried not to freak out since she was so happy with the way her meal turned out. She grabbed both of their lids that hid their meals, getting ready to show him.
"Enjoy!" Uraraka said to him.
She took off the lids and revealed what she cooked. Midoriya's eyes widened with delight seeing a full on meal. Not only that, but it was salmon teriyaki, something he hadn't had in a long time.
"Ochaco! You made this?! This looks amazing!" Midoriya exclaimed.
Uraraka felt herself blush, but also felt that annoying feeling once he got excited. She tried to ignore it and kept going with the date. Seeing him so excited and happy made her feel so much relief.
"Well, Bakugo did help," Uraraka said back, "But I did do a lot of it. He just kind of guided me through it. I'm surprised that I didn't burn the salmon. Please let me know how it turned it out."
"Of course!" Midoriya exclaimed as he grabbed his chopsticks, "Itadakimasu."
Uraraka waited for him to try the salmon as he took some of the white rice to have with it. He took a bite out of it, and his eyes lit up with how rich and delicious it was. His mouth was watering with how warm and comforting it was.
"Wow! This is the best salmon I've ever had!" Midoriya cried out, "Even that crispiness around it makes it so much better! I can't believe this is your first time making this!"
Uraraka felt her heart flutter and noticed it this time around. Something about it felt so relieving considering they haven't done this since before the switch. It was as if she needed confirmation that she still felt this way about him even when she was stuck like this. She smiled and felt like she could relax.
"I'm so glad that you like it Izuku. I worked really hard on it," Uraraka said to him as she got ready to try it, "Well, I might as well try it as well."
Uraraka took a bite out of the salmon and white rice and was honestly surprised that she even made this. It felt like something she thought she'd never get around to making. It felt so satisfying to finally try it. She ate more, feeling so good about it. After trying some of the vegetables, she knew that she had to do make it up to Bakugo somehow.
"This is amazing Ochaco. I'm glad that it turned out great," Midoriya said to her through a smile, "I can't believe Kacchan actually helped you make this."
"Yeah. He was surprisingly easy to cook with. He was... actually really patient and calm during the whole thing, which surprised me," Uraraka explained as she picked up a piece of broccoli with her chopstick.
"Really? I mean, Kacchan is a really good cook, so he was probably just really focused on that," Midoriya explained to her, "It's something that he really enjoys, even if he doesn't like to admit it to everyone."
Uraraka couldn't help worry about him and wondered what he was doing at the moment. She really appreciated him helping her with the meal. She at least hoped to help him out somehow soon. Maybe even do something like he liked, but she didn't know him as well as Midoriya.
She let out a sigh, and Midoriya noticed right away.
"Ochaco, what's wrong? Don't you like the salmon teriyaki?" Midoriya asked her.
"Yeah, I do," Uraraka said to him, "I just... I feel bad for Bakugo. I know, it's weird that I feel bad for him. He's so loud and annoying at times, but I just... after all that's happened. I'm starting to understand him a little more, and I feel like I need to do something for him. My feelings and his feelings keep getting mixed up and with things not working out with getting back to normal... I really wanted to cheer him up somehow."
Midoriya sat there and thought about what she told him. She ate some of her meal, wondering what he was thinking about. Something about it seemed to bother her and knew that it was Bakugo's feelings. She seemed to get a better grasp at all of this than Bakugo was and for some reason, his feelings weren't as bad as she thought they'd be.
"Maybe... I got it!" Midoriya said a he thought of something, "I know! You should go hiking with him!"
Uraraka tilted her head in confusion and didn't understand where this came from.
"Hiking?" Uraraka said back, "Why?"
"Me and Kacchan use to go hiking all the time! I wasn't as much of a fan, but I could tell that he really enjoyed it," Midoriya said to her, "Something about hiking, the trees, climbing and the views really helps him calm down. Maybe it'll help him understand you, and who knows... maybe he'll actually like it."
Uraraka realized that he was right. She didn't know him like he did, but she noticed that when he's doing something that he likes he seems to calm down. She could tell that going hiking might be a good thing. She hasn't done that sort of thing since before U.A. with her parents. She wasn't a big fan, but didn't really remember much of it anyway. Something about it told her this was the best thing to do for him.
"Yeah. I'll do it," Uraraka said to him, "Tomorrow's a Sunday anyway. Maybe I can get permission to go out with him for a while. Hopefully Mr. Aizawa will be okay with this."
Midoriya smiled, and Uraraka felt that annoying feeling come up. She tried to shake it off and kept going with the date.
"Thank you Deku-- I mean... Izuku!" Uraraka said, stumbling from Bakugo's feelings, "Sorry! Ugh, Bakugo feelings keep getting in the way of this date. It's like he's yelling at you for just getting excited over salmon teriyaki. So annoying."
Midoriya couldn't help but laugh, which made Bakugo's feelings come up out of no where.
"De-- Izuku! Stop laughing! This isn't helping," Uraraka yelled back as she got up from the table.
"So-Sorry! I-I just... I didn't expect you to say that! You sounded just like him for a moment!" Midoriya said as he kept laughing.
Uraraka snapped out of it and noticed how happy he was. Soon enough, she felt her heart skip a beat seeing him so happy and smiling. It made her eyes light up and sat back down. Midoriya calmed down and wiped tears from his eye.
"Oh my gosh. I haven't laughed like that in a long time," Midoriya said to her, "You do realize that everyone's going to be talking about this for a long time, right? Once this goes back to normal, I mean."
Uraraka flinched and looked away from him once he said that. Something about it what he said made her feel a little concerned. She looked at Bakugo's hand and looked at his fingers, missing her quirk. She noticed that she was sweating a little because of his quirk and tried to wipe it off with the napkin. Midoriya noticed, and Uraraka got back to her dinner. She didn't say anything for a minute as she ate her dinner.
"Ochaco?" Midoriya said to her.
She didn't anything as she kept eating. Then she felt his hand gently hold hers, making her look up. She felt her heart flutter the moment he touched her. Something about it also irritated her because of Bakugo's feelings. It got a little more aggressive, but she push it aside. Something about his eyes and the way he looked at her felt so good and went with that.
"You're going to be back to normal in no time. I just know it," Midoriya said to her with a smile, "I can tell it's a little tough to deal with, but I'm right here. I'm not leaving you, and then when things go back to normal, we can go on another date. You can even wear that dress you've been wanting to wear for a while. But right now, I'm just glad to be here with you. No matter what hand I'm holding."
Uraraka's heart fluttered and looked down at her hand holding Midoriya's. It looked weird seeing Bakugo's hand holding his. It took her a moment to realize that she was the one holding his hand. It felt good to feel him close to her, but definitely wanted things to back to normal. What he said to her made her feel so relieved and wanted so desperately to hug and kiss him.
"Izuku... Thank you... For everything," Uraraka said to him, "I just miss you so much... Being near you... I know that we're on a date right now, but... It does feel different... I just want to..."
Midoriya's eyes widened and felt a blemish form around his face. He scratched the back of his head, feeling a little uncomfortable since it sounded like Bakugo for a moment there while talking to him. He felt her grip tighten, and he realized that this really meant a lot to her. Midoriya was really happy that she did this for him and hoped that things would work out between Bakugo and Uraraka.
Midoriya got up and still held her hand. He smiled at her and got her out of her seat.
"Izuku, where are we going?" Uraraka asked him as he guided her away from the dining room.
"You'll see," Midoriya said to her with a smile.
Uraraka's eyes widened and let him take her wherever they were going. She tightened her grip around his and trusted him. They ended up stepping out of the dormitory and stood on the front patio. Uraraka's eyes widened when she noticed how bright and clear the night sky was. She couldn't look away and felt so light that she could float away. Then she looked at Midoriya and noticed how shiny and sparkly his eyes were. His eyes shined like two jades, and they looked just as bright as the stars in the sky.
"This is a great start to the hike tomorrow. It won't be a night sky when you go hiking, but I thought that this might help you," Midoriya said to her, "I'm sure the view will be much better than this."
She couldn't look away from his eyes as he looked up. Something about them made her feel so warm and fuzzy inside. She held his hand and didn't want to let go of him.
"Izuku..." Uraraka said to him, "I love you..."
Midoriya didn't even flinch as he looked back at her. For that moment, he didn't see Bakugo at all. All he could see was Uraraka as they stood outside together. He smiled and felt so light on his feet just like how Uraraka usually made him feel. That alone made him feel so relieved that they were finally going out again.
"I love you too Ochaco," Midoriya said back.
Then Midoriya leaned in and kissed her. Something about it felt so good, and Uraraka leaned into it. She felt his lips against hers, and it made her feel warm inside. She felt so much lighter that she could accidentally activate her quirk at any moment. Then she remembered that she didn't have her quirk, and she wasn't herself. She was still Bakugo.
Midoriya stopped kissing her, and they looked at each other. They both stared at one another, realizing what had just happened. They both turned red and separated from each other. Uraraka could feel Bakugo's feelings boiling over, and she couldn't hold it back.
"I-I'm sorry Ochaco! I-I just... I thought that you wanted privacy!" Midoriya cried out, "I-I forgot for a moment that... you were... you know...!"
"Deku... You fucking kissed me...?" Uraraka growled out.
Midoriya flinched, hearing Uraraka sound way too much like Bakugo. He felt himself sweating as Uraraka turned around to face him.
"Ochaco... I--"
"Don't come any closer! Bakugo's feelings are a little... aggressive right now..." Uraraka growled out, "Just... give me a minute..."
Midoriya listened to her with no problem whatsoever. Uraraka took some time to calm down, and Midoriya barely looked at her. Every time she did, he would instinctively look away. She took a few deep breaths in and out and finally felt like she could finish up this date soon.
"Sorry about that Izuku. I just didn't expect you to kiss me," Uraraka explained to him, "You should've said something. Bakugo's feelings are a bit... aggressive, especially when it comes to you."
"Y-Yeah. Sorry about that. I-I just..." Midoriya said to her as he trailed off.
He held her hand, and Uraraka was hesitant to let him hold her hand. He smiled at her without hesitation or pulling away from her.
"I've realized that it doesn't matter what you look like. I love you for you," Midoriya said to her with such a genuine smile, "I really appreciate what you've done for me. You're putting these weird feelings that aren't even yours aside for me. That's gotta be a little weird and maybe a little uncomfortable."
Uraraka couldn't look away as he tightened his grip around hers. Everything he said made her fall in love with him even more.
"Y-You... love me that much...? B-But doesn't it bother you that I look like... this...?" Uraraka asked him.
Midoriya smiled and didn't pull away. He tightened his grip, making her heart flutter.
"It might've been a little weird at first, but it made me realize that I still love and care about you no matter what you look like. This date, I really appreciate this a lot more than you realize. It opened my eyes to see how amazing you are. Even though things are weird right now, I still want to be there for you. No matter what happens and what's going on, I just want you to be happy," Midoriya told her with the most genuine voice.
Uraraka felt tears coming up as Midoriya declared his love to her. She couldn't look away and all she wanted to do was kiss him back. As more tears came up, that's all she could do was cry and tried to wipe her tears away.
"Izuku..." Uraraka said under her breath.
She didn't know what to say to that. All she could do was hug him, and Midoriya hugged her back. She snuggled into his embrace and felt tears run down her face and onto his shirt. All she wanted was to have Midoriya's arms around her. She tightened her embrace around him, and he didn't pull away or anything like that.
Uraraka felt like she really needed to hear this from him.
Once she calmed down, they let go of each other. She couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous this must look to other people if they ever saw them hugging.
"Bakugo's not going to like this," Uraraka said to him, "I don't think he'll like the fact that you just kissed him."
Midoriya's eyes widened in shock and flinched, realizing how mad he's going to be. He looked like he was sweating buckets. Uraraka couldn't help but laugh out loud at how scared he looked. She felt tears come up and wiped them away from laughing so hard.
"Maybe we shouldn't say anything," Uraraka said to him, "Besides, he wanted some space. I don't think telling him about this would help anyone. I think he wants things to back to normal considering what happened with Kitsune. I can't blame him for wanting that."
"Yeah. Maybe you're right," Midoriya said back.
They stood there and looked at the bright night sky together. Something about it felt so different, but it gave Uraraka such a good feeling. She smiled, hoping that Bakugo felt better.
What she didn't know was that Bakugo had seen them through the window when he went to get a glass of water.
