Patton was trying. Really he was. It's just so hard to have emotions all of the time and have to deal with them. Way easier to just put on a smile and ignore for… ever. But Janus said he had to be better about conveying his feelings and taking care of himself. And he was right, but that didn't mean Patton liked it. Only problem was if Janus caught him repressing and lying again, he was pretty sure the result would not be fun. So he was trying.
When he went downstairs, Patton found Virgil scrolling on his phone while laying on the near end of the couch.
"Watcha got there, Pat?" Virgil asked him.
Virgil had been very gentle with him since the incident. Patton hated being treated like he was made of glass, but with Logan being mad at everyone and Roman being exceptionally mad at Patton himself, he decided there were worse things.
The item Virgil was currently questioning him on was the new dog plushie he was currently carrying.
"It's a matter dog."
Virgil sat up and tilted his head. "What's a matter dog?"
He couldn't help it. Patton felt his lip tremble and tears start to spill over.
"... Pat…"
Virgil stood up and pulled Patton into a tight hug.
"That was a pretty good one."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah, Pat. Do you want to sit with me for a bit and you can talk if you want to?"
"Ok."
