In the beginning, there were three divine brothers—the God of Light, the God of Darkness, and Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, the God of Balance. Together, they created the world of Remnant, a realm where humanity would thrive, and they loved this creation dearly. The God of Light brought forth life, trees, and nature, filling the world with beauty and vitality. The God of Darkness, unable to fully grasp the nature of life, created the Grimm—beings of darkness that would challenge humanity, serving as a test of their resilience. Hagoromo introduced chakra, a powerful energy that connected all living things, allowing humanity to grow, learn, and evolve.
The three brothers watched over humanity with pride, guiding them through their struggles and triumphs. They saw their creation flourish, and their love for humanity only grew as the people of Remnant built civilizations, mastered chakra, and faced the challenges of the Grimm with courage.
The Tragedy of Salem and Ozma*
Among the many stories of humanity, one stood out—one that would change the fate of the world forever. Ozma, a noble and brave warrior, saved a woman named Salem from certain death. In that moment, Salem fell deeply in love with Ozma, and he with her. Their love was a shining example of the beauty the gods had envisioned for humanity.
But tragedy struck when Ozma fell ill with an incurable disease. As he lay dying, Salem's heart broke. Desperate to save him, she begged the God of Light to bring Ozma back to life. However, the God of Light refused, explaining that death was a natural part of life and that to disrupt that balance would bring dire consequences.
Unable to accept Ozma's death, Salem turned to the God of Darkness. Unlike his brother, the God of Darkness had always been feared by humanity, but Salem approached him with a request to resurrect Ozma. The God of Darkness, touched by the fact that someone finally sought him out, agreed, happy to fulfill her wish. He used his power to bring Ozma back to life.
However, Salem's deception did not go unnoticed. The God of Light realized what had happened and confronted his brother, leading to a fierce battle between the two. Their clash shook the world of Remnant, and in the end, both gods realized they had been tricked by Salem. In their anger, they killed Ozma once more, ensuring he could never be resurrected, and cursed Salem with immortality, condemning her to live forever with the consequences of her actions.
The Rebellion and the Wrath of the Gods*
Salem, now immortal and consumed by grief and anger, wandered the world in search of a way to end her suffering. She eventually came to blame the gods for her torment and decided to lead humanity in a rebellion against them, hoping that in doing so, she might finally find peace in death.
Salem's rebellion was fierce, and many followed her, driven by their own fears and resentments. But the gods, in their sorrow and anger, responded with overwhelming force. They wiped out nearly all of humanity, sparing only Salem, who was left to wander the ruins of the world she had helped destroy, burdened by the eternal life she once thought she desired.
Hagoromo's Resolve and the Birth of Indra and Ashura*
Hagoromo, the God of Balance, was heartbroken by the devastation. Unlike his brothers, he chose not to respond with anger but instead descended to Remnant, determined to restore what had been lost. He stayed in the world, nurturing the remnants of life and guiding the survivors as they slowly began to rebuild. He taught them the ways of chakra, helping them understand the balance of life and death.
In time, Hagoromo found love with a mortal woman, and together they had two children, Indra and Ashura. Indra was powerful, intelligent, and gifted with a natural talent for chakra, while Ashura, though less skilled, had a kind heart and an unbreakable will.
As the two brothers grew, their father taught them everything he knew. But Salem, still driven by her desire for power and revenge, saw an opportunity in Indra. She approached him, whispering promises of greater power and convincing him that he was destined to surpass his father and take the title of the Sage of Six Paths.
Indra, seduced by Salem's words and his own ambition, turned against his father and brother. In response, Hagoromo, heartbroken by his son's betrayal, bestowed his power upon Ashura, making him the new Sage of Six Paths. The two brothers clashed in a battle that would shape the future of Remnant, with Ashura ultimately emerging victorious.
The Cycle of Reincarnation*
Though Ashura defeated Indra, the battle took a toll on both brothers. They eventually passed away of old age, but their conflict did not end with their deaths. Instead, their souls were bound in a cycle of reincarnation, destined to face each other in battle again and again throughout the ages, as their descendants inherited their will and power.
As the world of Remnant moved forward, the legacy of the gods and their children would continue to shape its destiny. The endless struggle between Indra and Ashura, born of love, betrayal, and the desire for power, would be felt in every corner of the world, echoing through the lives of those who followed in their footsteps. And through it all, Salem, cursed with immortality, would watch from the shadows, waiting for the moment when she could finally achieve her ultimate goal.
