Damian woke up sometime later being carried by someone. He panicked for a second and opened his eyes to see Grayson. "Shhh. Go back to sleep. I'm taking you to your bed." He whispered and Damian groggily listened.

All the emotions and activities of the day had worn him out.

In the morning he got up feeling well rested. His gifts were put neatly on the chair and Bastet was still sleep next to him. He took a shower and filled Bastet's bowl. She would be awake soon.

He cleaned his room and the litter box. It was still too early for others to be awake, but he was buzzing with energy. He decided to go to the cave to train a bit.

After a long training session, he felt a lot better. Burning through all the energy helped him clear his head about what he should do. It was never a good sign when Grandfather got his own hands dirty and went the extra mile to hide it.

He was still unsure of the end Grandfather had in mind. He never did things for being petty. If someone offended him, he would directly aim for their death. The faster, the better. Such was the teaching of the league.

And his only other plans that regarded the long game were about immortality and world domination. Both of which didn't sit well with Damian. Either way the only way he could be sure was to find the man himself.

Damian cleaned up the equipment and took a quick shower. It was time for breakfast. Drake was sitting at the table. Not looking well rested but less groggy than usual.

He had a mug of coffee and a bowl of cereal in front of him. He was looking at something on his tablet. Damian went to the kitchen to grab his own breakfast. He had some oatmeal and fruits mixed in.

He sat in front of Drake, who looked up at him. "Good morning," Drake said.

'Good morning,' Damian signed.

"If you are free after breakfast we can work on what you asked in my room. I just have to read these emails first." He said as he finally noticed his cereal getting soggy and started eating as fast as he could.

'OK. I just need to grab Bastet.' Damian signed.

Drake nodded, and they finished their breakfast in silence.

Drake had definitely made the effort to clean his room a bit. It looked less cluttered, and he even had an extra chair pulled next to his for Damian. Damian sat beside him, and they started working.

There was not much to go on. Just a few sightings, logs of the calls made, some transactions, and such. But it was enough to give them a base. Watching Drake work was like magic.

It was enchanting. The way his mind could connect the dots and find ways to find new ways of doing the tasks, Damian didn't know how to describe it. Coupled with Damian's knowledge of the league and their working, they made a great team.

Damian could think like an assassin. How to hide footprints and clear evidence so they could never be found. But Drake was observant. He was the type who would make sure there was no footprint to begin with.

Their differences made their combined work more effective. Although it would take longer since they both had to explain their thought process to each other and choose an action, it ensured that each action would lead to results.

Soon, they both lost track of time.

Damian woke up to a gentle hand on his back, shaking him. He opened his eyes to see he had fallen asleep on the chair. He felt stiff and disoriented. He could see that it was dark outside.

"It's time for dinner," Drake said.

'When did I fall asleep?' Damian signed. Looked around and found Bastet sleeping next to his foot.

"About an hour ago. We should have taken a break. Sorry." Drake said as he started saving the files on his computer so they could go to dinner.

Damian didn't say anything. He just gently scooped Bastet up, trying not to jolt her awake.

They made some good progress. They might need a few more days, but they had some more clues on which to build. Damian was happy to have asked for help. He could have never achieved results on his own this quickly.

Drake turned off his computer and they went to Damian's room so he could put some food for when Bastet woke up. They went to the dining room. They got jumped by Brown.

"Hey there you two. I was waiting for you all day. Alfred told me that Tim mentioned you were working on a case and didn't want to be disturbed so I had to wait in the living room watching TV. I'm so bored." She said.

"Sorry, Steph. I didn't know you were coming today," Drake said.

"Yeah, it's fine. I'm busting this gang's hideout tonight and B insisted that I need backup. Cass is out of town again, So I came up to you. Damian wanna team up with me tonight?" She said with a huge smile.

It was rare for them to team up together but Damian enjoyed it when it happened so he nodded. Trying to hide his excitement from his face but the shine in his eyes betrayed him.

"Hey that's not fair. What about me?" Drake asked. He didn't sound offended. His tone was similar to a whining child.

Brown just laughed at him. They all headed for a light dinner before patrol.
