Hello here is the next chapter. I know it's been a while. Hope you're still here.

Chapter 26

Preparing for Forever

Bella's POV

As we walked through the store, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the endless options of furniture. I knew that this shopping trip was for our new home, but it also had to meet Edward's needs.

"Okay, let's start with the living room," I said, taking Edward's hand and guiding him towards the sofa section.

"We need to make sure the furniture is comfortable and easy for you to navigate around."

Edward spent a lot of time running his hand over the various sofas, feeling the different textures and fabrics.

"This one feels nice," he said, sitting down and testing out the cushions. "But can we add some pillows for support? It will make it easier for me to get up and sit down."

I smiled, taking note of his request. "Of course, we can also add a rug to define the seating area and make it easier for you to know where the furniture is."

"But I'm sure that after a few walkthroughs once the house is furnished it will be okay too," he kissed the top of my head.

As we continued to shop, we made sure to keep Edward's needs in mind. We picked out a coffee table with rounded edges to prevent any accidents. I was not only thinking about him, but of the…children that we'll eventually have. I picked a TV stand with compartments for easy organization. We also 'looked' at lamps and lighting options that would provide enough brightness without being too harsh, I wanted our home to have a cozy feeling.

Next, we moved on to the kitchen. I knew that this was going to be a challenge, as Edward would have a hard time navigating around the appliances and utensils. Esme barely let him do anything, so I knew that living on our own was going to be an adjustment for him. I wanted this transition to be as easy as possible. We focused on finding items that were easy to use and made plans to organize it in a way that Edward could easily find whatever he or I needed.

"I think we should also get some tactile labels for the cabinets and drawers," I suggested, holding up a pack of adhesive labels. I'd read about them online.

"That way, you can easily find what you need without having to rely on memory or asking for help."

"I also ordered some I saw on amazon, they're numbers for the microwave," Edward smiled and nodded. "That would be really helpful. Thanks love."

"It's nothing, I just want you to be independent," I kissed him quickly.

"I want you to teach me to cook," he told me.

"Why?"

"I want to be able to make you food that is not a mere sandwich," he joked.

"Okay, we can try. Did they give you any cooking classes at the Blind School?"

"Some, but it's been a while," he sighed.

"We'll start slow, okay?" He nodded and smiled.

After hours of shopping, we finally had most of the furnishing for our new home. We went back to the house to leave some other things we'd gotten. As we stood in our empty living room, I couldn't help but feel proud of what they had accomplished. We're going to create a home that was not only beautiful but also functional for Edward's needs.

"I can't wait to see how it all looks when we move in," I said, Edward wrapped his arms around me.

"It's going to be perfect," I replied, kissing him on the cheek. "And we'll make sure to add any other necessary adjustments as we live here."

Edward's POV

We were on our second day of furniture shopping. Yesterday's trip was great. I'm glad we found what we were 'looking' for. Today we're in a different area of Miami searching for the perfect master bedroom set.

As we walked hand in hand through the furniture store, I couldn't help but feel grateful for having Bella by my side. Being blind, it was not easy for me to do everyday tasks, let alone go furniture shopping. But Bella had promised to be my eyes and help me pick out the perfect furniture for our new home.

I was only in my early twenties, but I had already found the love of my life in Bella. She was my rock, my everything. And even though I couldn't see her, I knew she was the most beautiful person in the world. I held hope in my heart that I would finally see her face one day, but corneas were something rare to come by.

As we browsed through the different bedroom sets, Bella described each one to me in detail, making sure I could envision it in my mind. I could feel her excitement as she talked about the different styles and colors. I trusted her completely, but I wanted to pick the best choices for us. She was in charge of colors, I was in charge of shapes and feeling the right materials and fabrics. My sense of touch was unparalleled.

But it wasn't just about the furniture, it was about the moments we shared. The way she would guide my hand to feel the smoothness of the wood or the softness of the fabric. The way she would whisper in my ear about the little details that made each piece unique.

As we finally settled on a beautiful cherry wood set, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with love for Bella. She had not only helped me pick out the perfect furniture, but she had also shown me that my blindness was not a hindrance in our relationship. She loved me for who I was, and that was all that mattered.

As we left the store, I squeezed her hand and whispered, "Thank you for being my eyes, my love."

Bella and I have been together for many years now and have conquered many obstacles. I was ready for this new chapter with her.

Together, we created a home that was not only a reflection of our love but also a safe and comfortable environment for us. And that was all that mattered to me.

Alice's POV

I can't believe it. After all these years, Mom and Carlisle have finally decided to downsize and move to a smaller house. And not only that, they're leaving our childhood home to Edward and me. Well the house was already ours as it's on my father's will. It's a bittersweet moment for all of us, but I can't help but feel excited about the changes that are coming.

Growing up, our house was always filled with laughter and love. Dad was the heart of our family, with his adventurous and funny nature. Back then mom had a warm and nurturing presence. She hardened after the accident, but I'm glad that Carlisle was the calm and steady force that held us all together now.

As we all gathered for a laidback dinner to celebrate their big announcement, the atmosphere was a mix of emotions. Esme and Carlisle were beaming with pride as they talked about their plans for the future, while Edward Bella tried to contain their excitement about their new home. They were ready to start their own journey as a married couple. They had found a home of their own, and I couldn't be happier for them.

I'd always known Edward even though he's blind, wanted to be independent and is taking that opportunity now with Bella.

But the biggest surprise of the night came from Jasper and I, when we announced that we would be moving into our childhood home, and asked mom if we could make some changes to the house to make it their own.

Esme, being the reserved and authoritative person that she is, was hesitant at first. But after some convincing from Carlisle and me, she finally agreed.

After everything we've gone through, I was happy we finally had a sense of normalcy. Jasper and I were also excited for the wedding. The four of us were planning the best double ceremony in all of Miami.

Edward's POV

Alice and Jasper were always the more outgoing and adventurous ones in the family. They loved to have fun and were always up for trying new things. I couldn't help but smile as I watched them excitedly talk about their plans for the house. They wanted to add a modern touch to the traditional house, and I knew they would do an amazing job.

As the night went on, we all shared stories and memories of our time in this house. From the time we were kids playing in the backyard, to our teenage years filled with drama and first loves, this house has been witness to it all. And now, it was time for a new chapter to begin.

Mom and Carlisle were sad to leave, but they were also looking forward to starting a new chapter in their lives. They didn't need that much space since it was just them and my little brother Carlisle Jr. I could feel their excitement as they talked about their plans for their new home.

And as for me, I was excited to see what the future held. With Alice and Jasper moving into our childhood home, I knew that there would be many more memories to be made in that house. And I couldn't wait to hear all about the changes they would make to make it their own.

As the night came to an end, we all hugged and said our goodbyes. It was a night filled with mixed emotions, but one thing was for sure - our family bond was stronger than ever. And no matter where life takes us, this house will always hold a special place in our hearts.

As I stood at the front door of my new house, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. It was a beautiful house, no doubt, but it was also unfamiliar territory. I have been blind since I was 11 years old, and moving into a new house meant having to navigate and get accustomed to a new environment all over again.

Bella stood beside me, her hand gently resting on my arm. "Are you ready, Edward?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

I took a deep breath and nodded, trying to push away my nerves. I had always tried to be independent and determined to not let my blindness hold me back, but there was always a sense of anxiety whenever I had to face a new challenge. It didn't help that there were things I didn't know how to do because mom insisted she do for me.

Together, Bella and I stepped into our new home. Immediately, I could sense the spaciousness of the living room. I ran my fingers over the walls, trying to get a sense of the layout. Bella guided me to the couch and I sank into it, feeling grateful for her presence.

"Let's explore the house together," she said, her hand finding mine. I smiled, feeling comforted by her touch.

We made our way through the house, with Bella describing each room and its purpose again. I could hear the excitement in her voice as she showed me the kitchen, the bedrooms, and the backyard. I could feel her love for this house and I couldn't help but feel a little more at ease. I loved it too, it filled me with a sense of peace I'd never felt before.

As we reached the bedroom, Bella stopped, "let's blind proof our new home."

I raised an eyebrow, "I thought that was done already?"

"No, I wanted to do that with you," she said.

Everyone had come over to help us build the furniture and put everything where Bella wanted it. I'd emptied out my bedroom and brought everything over. Bella had done the same.

We had an emotive moment during the move because mom brought dad's piano over.

Mom told me he wanted me to have it. I remembered he always enjoyed it when I played. He'd been my first piano teacher. After we ate some pizza I played the song I played at our graduation.

I smiled at the memory but went back to pay attention to Bella.

"We need to make sure that our home is safe and easy for us to navigate," she explained. "I want us to make it our own little sanctuary where we can feel comfortable and independent."

I couldn't help but smile at her thoughtfulness. Together, we went through the house, making small changes to ensure that it was safe for me. We put tactile stickers on the appliances in the kitchen, so I could easily identify them by touch. We also added braille labels to the light switches and many of the drawers.

In the living room, they had arranged the furniture to create a clear path for me to walk through. Bella made sure that there were no sharp corners or obstacles in my way.

As we finished our blind proofing, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. This house was no longer just a beautiful but unfamiliar space, it was now our safe haven.

We decided to live together in these last few weeks of our engagement. Charlie was wary at first…I completely understand where he is coming from. Bella and I haven't completely made love yet, but we have explored our bodies and brought pleasure to the other.

Bella joked and told him he and Renée already had her when they were the age we are now. Bella said that argument won him over. It was just a few weeks anyway.

Bella and I settled into our new routine, and our home became a place of comfort and love. We would spend our evenings cuddled up on the couch, talking about our day and making plans for the future.

A few weeks later:

Bella's POV

We had both applied for a teaching job at the same school, yesterday we received where we were told to go by the school at ten in the morning because the principal wanted to talk to us. Edward was blind, but that didn't stop him from pursuing his passion for music. He had a natural talent for playing the piano and guitar, and he wanted to share that with his students. I, on the other hand, loved working with children and had applied for a second-grade teaching position.

As we walked into the school, I could feel the excitement building up inside me. This was our chance to start a new chapter in our lives together. We were greeted by the principal, who led us to the interview room. We were nervous, but we had each other's support.

"I called you back because I know I informed you earlier in the year that we didn't have any positions available, but our music teacher decided to retire," the principal told us.

"Does that mean that you're hiring me?" Edward asked.

"Yes, Mr. Masen, I am offering you the music teacher position. If you accept, you will have a vast classroom fully equipped and your own office space."

"It doesn't bother you that I'm blind?" He asked in disbelief.

"No, Mr. Masen, we have an assistant in stand by that would be assigned to you if you choose to take the position," she added.

"I'll give you a few minutes to think about it," she said and then turned her attention to me.

"Ms. Swan, Mrs. Allen found out she is pregnant, and she decided to take a sabbatical. I don't know if she will be back after that, but for the time being we have a vacancy in the elementary level. If you choose to accept you would be taking over the same grade she did."

"You want me to be the second teacher?" I asked in disbelief. Mrs. Stevens nodded.

"I will give you a few minutes to think about it," she said and left the room.

"I can't believe this is happening!" Edward said excitedly.

"Should we take the jobs?" I asked.

"The other schools wanted us to have more experience, but they seem to want to give us a chance here. They're even going to give me an assistant," he pointed out again.

"I think we should take this chance, Bella,"

The interview went well, and we were both hired on the spot. We couldn't believe it! We were going to be working together at the same school. Edward would be the music teacher, and I would be teaching second grade. We were overjoyed and couldn't wait to start our new journey together.

The principal gave us a more in-depth tour of the school, and we were impressed by the facilities. Even though we had done our practice here, we didn't have access to the whole place. The classrooms were bright and colorful, and the atmosphere was happy and fun. We could already imagine our students filling the hallways with laughter and excitement.

As we walked past the music room, Edward's face lit up. He couldn't wait to start teaching his students how to play different instruments and appreciate the beauty of music. We were then taken to our classrooms, and we were given the freedom to decorate them as we pleased. We were both excited to make our classrooms warm and welcoming for our students.

After the tour, we went home and spent the whole day planning and discussing ideas for our classrooms.

So we are almost at the end... 6 more chapters to go.
