Dale dimmadome was pacing in his secret lab. His only thought find hazel and crack her open. So far all dale knew was hazel was a 10 year old girl who moved to dimma delphia almost a year ago. She lived in a brownstone downtown with her parents and her brother. She seemed rather boring and average. This pissed dale off more than anything. He started to shake with frustration and anger his gold teeth clanking against eachother."average people want things! Why dont you want things?!" Suddenly he heard the buzzing of flying robots behind him. " you better have a good reason for interrupting me"
One of the robots spoke up. " we have more information on the child called hazel and her family"
Dale looked at the robots. "Well what did you find out"
" she lives at 17 dinkelberg street. Her parents are dr. Angela wells a promiment therapist and her father is professor marcus wells a paranormal investigator at the galax institute. She is the youngest of two. Her brother anthony is in college. Also she has been observed with two unusual adults one with pink hair and one with green hair. "
Dale is intrigued by hearing about cosmo and wanda "what can you tell me about the pink and green haired adults? Were they at founders day?"
Robots started to go through the footage. "Yes sir. They spent quite a few hours there both with and without her."
"Show me footage of times they were with her."said dale
Dale watches the footage and sees that
anytime someone needed something hazel would talk to her friends and then something would happen.
"Its the three of them working together... but how? It doesnt make sense. How? Show me other times since the founders day when she has interacted with them."
The robots showed the footage. He noticed she would talk and something would happen. Dale started to take more and more notes.
" without her here we will never know exactly what is going on. So how do we get her family out of the way. Au pairs what is a famous therapy symposium?"
"The family care symposium. June 28 in new york city"
"Perfect. Please send an invitation from the family care to dr. Angela wells"
The au pair drafts and email and sends it to angela wells.
"Email professor marcus wells tell him i have a special assignment for him in my chicago factory and need him on it right away."said dale.
One of the au pairs spoke up. "Sir, you really believe they will leave without thier daughter?"
"Of course not. She's dev's friend she can stay here with us." Said dale laughing at his plan. Dale leaves and goes to talk to dev.
Dev was in his room moping trying to distract himself with mindless youtube videos but nothing was helping. He looked up when he heard the door slam open and his father come in. "So where's your friend hizel?thought the two of you would be hanging out
today. Do something dumb like a scavenger hunt again."
"We arent friends anymore. We got into a huge fight and she doesnt want to talk to me. But i dont need friends anyway. Friends just hold you back." Said dev.
"Good for you,dev. But you should always keep your friends close and your enemies closer. You should make up with her. Maybe invite her over the weekend. You two can reconnect again." Said dale
"You think i should be friends with her?" Dev was very confused he thought his dad would have said the opposite but if he was honest with himself dev wanted to make up with hazel more than anything so he texted her. ' hey hazel. Need to talk. Facetime in an hour?' He asked. He thought she might it ignore it. Expected her to if he was honest.
Meanwhile back at the brownstone hazel was chilling in cosmo and wanda's apartment with her friends. Eating pizza... listening to music... play monopoly. Free time that didnt require magic but magic made it more fun. Suddenly hazel heard her phone ping and looked at the message. Her expression went from happy to somber quickly. "Its dev" she said. Suddenly the room got quiet and then everyone started to talk at once. Hazel yelled stop trying to focus on reading the text. " hey hazel need to talk. Facetime in an hour. He wants to talk in an hour? Has a mind erase ever not worked?"
Wanda looks at her. "It has always worked. Once someone forgets fairies. Thats it."
" i guess its safe to talk to him but i wonder what about"said hazel
"Well, he got peri the night of founders day and you guys made up after that. He doesnt remember you making up. Maybe he wants to apologize."said wanda
"So should i talk to him or not?"said hazel
"Thats really up to you hazel. If you feel you need some closure with him i'd say yes."said anthony
Hazel thinks for a minute then texts back. "Ok talk in an hour."
One hour later hazel is at her place as the phone bings and the video chat starts."hi hazel." Said dev
"Hi dev. You said you needed to talk."
"Yeah. I was thinking about our fight and Im
sorry. I shouldnt have taken your hat from you. I... im not very good at this whole apology thing. I was wonder maybe we could start over? Be friends. Maybe you would want to come over and spend the weekend?"
Hazel thought for a moment. After everything dev did she just wasnt sure she could trust him. But he did sacrifice his kingdom for peri so there was good in him somewhere. "Ok. I have to ask my parents but i'll come you want."said hazel ending the call with dev. She wasnt sure if she made the right decision to be honest. She was about to ask her parents about staying at the dimmadomes when they told her the news they each got. Hazel started feeling a bit sus about it just be a cioncidence. That she was invited to dev's and suddenly her parents had trips they had to go on that weekend. "Wait what do we do about hazel?we cant leave her alone all weekend."said angela.
"Actually mom dev dimmadome asked me to spend the weekend at his place if thats ok."hazel said.
"Fine with us,honey."said marcus.
Hazel texted dev letting him know that her parents gave her permission to stay over. Hazel went and told the others.
"He wants you to come over for the weekend? The whole weekend?"asked wanda
"Yeah. I said yes but im a bit confused. I figured he would still be a jerk to me because i made a wish to get to know him better which led to the friendship...should i be worried?"asked hazel
"Hazel ,i dont think you and dev were really friends because of magic. Friendship doesnt
work that way." Jasmine pointed out.
"Yeah. I guess your right. "Said hazel
"Just in case cosmo and i will go with you"said wanda
The others nodded. The days flew by and soon it was the weekend. Everyone gave thier farewell hugs and kisses and were all off in different directions. Hazel with cosmo and wanda on her backpack were soon at the dimmadome anxiously rang the bell. Now that they were actually there it seemed like the worst idea ever. Dev opened the door. "Oh hey. Come on in." He said. "Did you want something to drink?"
"No thanks" said hazel.
Dev leads the way to the guest room. "So just
make yourself at home. "
Hazel started to unpack her things. Some candy falls out of her bag. "Oh sorry did you want some sour skittles?"she asked. Dev nodded and took a few.
"So wanna watch something?we could watch wreck it ralph"suggested dev.
Hazel nodded and they watched the movie. It was clear they were enjoying each other's company.
After a while the au pairs came in. "Devan... hazel... dinner is ready. Devan your father requests you both downstairs for dinner."it said
Dev nodded and he and hazel went to the dining room. For such a large room it had a rather small table. The au pairs brought out
food. Hazel had never seen anything so good before or tasted anything so delicious. Part of her thought it was too good to be it was so delicious she honestly did not care. She was even very impressed when dessert came out. Soon everything was gone. Hazel suddenly felt very tired. She could barely keep her eyes barely focus soon everything went black.
The only thing that woke her up was the clanging of metal. When she did wake up she noticed she was laying on some kind of metal table and couldnt move her body. She felt a sharp pinch on one side of her head then the other. "Hey!"yelled hazel.
"Sorry about that. Au pairs can be a bit indelicate sometimes."said dale as he came into view.
" I promise no one is gonna hurt you as long
as you cooperate."said dale.
"Cooperate with what? What do you want with me?"asked hazel
"Just some answers. "Said dale. "You are a tough nut to crack hazel. So tell me why dont you want anything?"
"What do you mean?"asked hazel
"At founders day you didnt want anything. Just a hat. And when others were around you they didnt want anything either. now tell me. Whats your secret? Does it involve the unusual adults you are always with."asked dale
"No offense mr. Dimmadome but i think you are overworked and need a vacation. You sound crazy."said hazel.
Dale suddenly presses a button and a terrible shock goes through hazel's body.
"No one calls dale dimmadome crazy. Now what are you and those two odd adults up to?"
"We arent up to anything! They are just my neighbors and I just dont like to buy things. Its just that simple really"said hazel.
Dale electroshocks her again.
"I wish i could get out of here and go home."said hazel. The fairies flicked thier wands but nothing happened."why am i still on this table?"
"Tell me the truth and the whole truth and i'll let you go."said dale.
"I am telling the truth but even if i wasnt why do you believe i would let you keep taking advantage of innocent people."said hazel.
"I am just giving people what they want and in exchange they give me money. All thier money. Unfortunately i cant let you interfere with that."said dale. "Now,i know something is going on with you and those two odd adults. You cant hide that from me."he said. Dale starts to shock her again and again. Hazel screams over and over wishing the pain would stop. For hours it seemed dale was using the electroshocks to torture her. Suddenly it is too much and she blurts out. "They're. . They're names are cosmo and wanda! They're my fairy godparents!"
Dale suddenly laughs. " you have access to magical beings?This is better than i could have hoped. I can hone in on thier magic and make EVERYONE buy my products. Forever!"
Before dale could continue everything a purple cloud forms above
them and jorgen appears. "Hazel wells you have revealed the existence of your fairy godparents. Your memory will be wiped and you will lose them. Cosmo...wanda you are officially retired!"
Jorgen uses the thing on her and takes the fairies away soon everything unfreezes. Dev had been looking for hazel for a while and saw her on the table putting two and two together. "Dad, you asked me to invite her over just so you could torture her? I thought you really wanted to help mend things."said dev running over to help hazel.
"Son,this is between me... hazel...and her fairies"
"Fairies?what are you talking about. I dont have fairies."said hazel. "Fairies arent real."
"You just told me you had them" said dale
"No. I didnt."said hazel
Suddenly police sirens are heard and the police come crashing in. "Dale dimmadome you are under arrest for kidnapping and espionage. " said a cop coming up and cuffing him.
"You cant arrest me! Im Dale dimmadome! Owner of the dimmadome globadome and son of doug dimmadome owner of the dimmsdale dimmadome! My family founded this city!"he yelled as he was escorted out.
"No one is above the law mr. Dimmadome. Not even you."said the cop putting him away.
"Dev,you saved me."said hazel
"Yeah... i... im sorry i invited you over. I was really hoping we could start over as friends. Though im not sure where i'll be staying now
that my dad's in jail." Said dev.
"Well when you figure it out give me a call."said hazel. They hug each other. A cop comes in." Ok kids. Time to go."said the officer. They get in the car and drive to a local foster home. A young man answers the door. "Hello. Welcome. Im timmy turner and this will be your new home for a while."he said
"Im dev... dev dimmadome. Thanks mr. nice to meet you." Dev said. He goes and gives hazel a hug goodbye. She hugs back and then she and the officer drive to her home where her parents were waiting.
"Mom... dad... i thought you guys were still away."said hazel
"It turns out the symposium was full. They booked too many guests."said angela
"And dimmadome's factory didnt have an issue."said marcus."are you all right?"
"Yeah. I'm good. And so glad you guys are home."said hazel as they went inside.
And they all lived somewhat happily ever after.
