[Scotland: Inverness: 2024]

Scotland was beautiful. The green rolling hills, the castles, the people. Everything about Scotland felt so magical. It was the little peace that Bella got on her visit. It was one of the only places she knew Edward wouldn't find her. She was staying at Mrs. Baird's Bed and Breakfast. It was quaint and the house was just lovely. Carlisle helped get her a ticket here to escape Edward. He was trying to protect her from his own son, and that meant a lot to her in some ways, though the sacrifices she made, made her regret putting her trust in Carlisle. Carlisle was her savior. She left Edward not long ago. Though it felt like it had just happened so recently. But she endured a lot of the Cullen's…Carlisle was her savior only because she had no choice.

"He won't hurt you again Bella, I promise," Carlisle said as he came up behind her as she stared out the window of the bedroom she was staying in at the bed and breakfast. He lay both of his hands on her shoulders and leaned her against him. He didn't know when it had happened to him, falling in love with her. He had had a wife, Esme, but something about Bella turned his head. Since she was little, he always found her fascinating. When she became a woman, it was clear that he loved her. He didn't like how Edward treated her, so commanding and pushy. He had to save her, get her away from his son so he could have her. Savor her the way she was meant to be savored. He leaned in, inhaling the scent of her cherry blossom shampoo. His hands shifted from her shoulders and ran down her arms. He slid them forward to her hips and he felt her quiver a little. "Let me…take care of you. Like I've always taken care of you…" He murmured in her ear, and she nodded. He moved her away from the window to the bed and he lay her down, pulling her pants off. Images of her being so young, laying on his bed, her pants off. She was twenty now, and the best way to save her was to marry her and it was hard to imagine he had known her for a full decade. When she started dating Edward, it warped him, and hurt him that she went to be with her son, and for his son to mistreat her. It hurt his heart. She was so innocent and beautiful, and Edward only marred that perfect beauty. But he had her back now, and nothing could take Bella away from him again. She was his wife now, and nothing would change that.

Bella lay on the bed, staring up at the ceiling as Carlisle peeled her pants off. There was a slight coolness to the air, and it made her shiver involuntarily. She felt the heat of Carlisle's breath against her inner thigh, so she closed her eyes in anticipation. The moment his tongue slid against her mound, she breathed, tingling sensations rushing through her. It was a feeling that she had come to enjoy. At first, she hated the thought but Carlisle assured her when she was younger that this was okay, and now she thirsted for the feeling, she just wished it wasn't Carlisle. Her body rose, the feeling of pleasure filling her as Carlisle teased her cunt, playing with her, making her rise. When she orgasm, she rushed out, squirting over his tongue and he moaned. Bella sat up watching Carlisle as he clutched his cock in his hand. He squeezed hard, his breathing coming in pants as he started to jerk his hand over and over again Bella knew what he was doing, she wasn't completely naïve. This relationship was odd. She understood what happened to her was wrong and what he did to her was wrong. He had groomed her for this moment. She thought dating Edward would make it better or in the very least she would be able to have a shot at being normal, but Edward was worse than Carlisle in so many ways. She had the bruises to prove it. When Carlisle took her away, helped her come to a different country just to escape, she took that chance so she didn't die. She traded one evil for another. She married a different kind of monster. What Carlisle didn't know, was that she had a plan of her own She would disappear and she'll be free from the Cullen's. But for now, she played innocent. She didn't want to make a wrong move because her escape plan depended on them being in Scotland. She would get on the train after they visited the sites here in Inverness. She would slip off while he was on the train and she would go to the airport and take the next flight to France first before she found her way to Australia. She would disappear. Change her name and her looks of she had to.

Carlisle groaned out as he came. He panted his navy eyes looking at Bella lovingly. "I'll go clean up. Get dressed, there are plenty of sites to see today my love."

Bella smiled. "I can't wait."

Bella stared at the large stones in front of her Craigh na Dun was a special place. The fairytales told of this place was special. Awe-inspiring. Carlisle had a conference call that came up and he told her to go take a look around nearby and he would join her in an hour. This was just a small wrench in her plans but as long as she could make it back to the airport by 4pm, her flight would take her to France. Escaping now would just be alarming. It wasn't the right time. She twisted the silver band on her finger and fingered the large oval diamond on her hand as she thought about her escape plan. She blew out a breath and then started twisting the small sapphire pendant that was left wit her mother. She was nervous about this plan working. She shook off the thoughts and walked towards the stones , a loud buzzing sounded around her and that made her look around cautiously. When she didn't see anyone she got closer until she was standing before the tallest of the stones. It was so marvelous, the solid beauty of nature. She reached a hand up as the buzzing got louder and she was almost in a trance. The wind picked up, her dark hair spinning wildly about her as she lay her hand on the smooth, cold stone. She felt like she was vibrating from within, and when the wind stopped, the buzzing stopped. She blinked a few times, coming out of her trance and looked around. The trees around her were a mix of orange and red hues and she frowned The air was cooler as well, and it made her shiver. She was wearing a long navy skirt and a matching blouse but the material wasn't thick enough to block the breeze. It didn't make sense that the trees suddenly changed color and it was colder out. She looked around more, her blue-green eyes studying her surroundings. The road was gone and that made her frown more, her brows furrowing a little. She walked out of the center of the stones, going back the way she had traveled but there was still no road. She was starting to feel like perhaps she was dreaming, when she spotted a path worn down like it was traveled a lot. She took to it, glancing up at the sky to see where the sun was and then angled East towards Inverness. She had taken a trolley to the stones and the fact there was no road and no vehicles, made her concerned that perhaps she hit her head and she was in a coma or something.

Bella saw a man, wearing a red coat that reminded her of something out of the 17th century. She has loved history as a child and read a lot of historical stories. "Hello!" she called out, hoping to gather the attention the man. He was riding on a horse and came to a stop.

"What's a lady such as yourself wandering through the woods?" the man spoke, an English accent. Now that he was closer, Bella could see he had dark hair pulled back in ponytail, wide Hazel eyes, and he looked aristocratic in his face.

"I appear to be lost," Bella said.

The man swung down off his horse to inspect her. He leaned in, seeing that she was dressed lightly, and the way her blouse tightened across her chest made his eyes wander down. "I would say." He said and then reached for her, clamping his hand right on her wrist.

"Wait, that hurts mister…please let me go!" Bella said, panic starting to build in her.

"You'll come with me. It is not smart for a lady to be in these parts without a male escort," He said, not letting go.

Bella was confused as to what was going on and who this man was and why he was looking at her like she was something to devour. "Let go of me!" she got louder and struggled against him, kicking out and hitting him in his shin. He released her with a yelp and she took off running. She picked up her skirt some so she could run faster. She could hear his heavy boots running, chasing after her. She screamed out when he knocked her to the ground, pinning her as he hiked her skirts up, the cold air hitting her on the ass. She struggled more, her hands grabbing into the dirt and she screamed and cried out for help. The man was strong, stronger than she was. She felt his cock on her ass now, and she closed her eyes tightly, anticipating what was to come next and when it didn't, and the man was thrown back away from her, she scrambled, flipping over to see another man, auburn hair in light curls, wearing a kilt and dark cloak, punch the other man in the face a few times until the man was out cold.

Bella was staring, her eyes wide, her body shaking as she looked up at the newcomer. He looked strong and he was very handsome His blue eyes were bright, round and his square jaw showed more of his masculinity. Nothing about this man was soft.

"Lass, are ye okay?" He spoke, his Scottish voice concerned.

Bella blinked a few times as tears tried to blind her. "I think so…" she murmured. The man reached a hand out and she recoiled instantly.

"I'm not goin' to hurt ya," He reassured.

Bella sniffed a little, taking his hand and he helped her to her feet. The pain spiraled in her ankle and she cried out in pain, leaning heavily against the Scotsman.

The man caught her gently. "Easy lass," he said lowly. "Ya hurt yer foot. Let me help. My people are right up the ridge here. We can help." He said and Bella nodded before he stopped her up into his strong arms and carried her. She clung to him, her body shaking from the shock of everything but also the coldness in the air. "My name is Jamie. Yers?"

"Bella," She said, her lip quivering a little.

Another man greeted Jamie at the top. "Ye found the lass, is she alright?" the man asked. He had dark hair, shoulder length and an older face with grey eyes.

"Aye, I did Murtagh…Captain Randall was trying to take advantage of the lass. We need to move out of the area. He saw me face." Jamie said and handed Bella to Murtagh so he could climb up a little easier.

Bella clung to Murtagh now as the man held her. Her head was spinning. She still wasn't sure what was happening.

Other men came riding up on horses. "What is the hold up?" one of the men barked out, his bald head was covered with a beret and his beard was graying as well as his eyes.

"Dougal, it is Captain Randall. We must leave the area. We found a lass he was trying…to take advantage of. I saved her." Jamie explained, as he gathered Bella back in his arms.

"Why are ye carrying the lass?" Dougal questioned.

"She hurt her foot. We should get her back to camp so I can take a better look," Jamie responded, his voice strong, and fervent.

Dougal grunted and then kicked his horse into a trot silently. That was his way of not caring.

Jamie sighed. "I apologize for my uncle. He's a war chief…he can be brutish. We will take care of ya." He reassured her again.

Bella felt like that was true. She was so confused as to where she was and it was starting to seem like she had traveled back in time somehow and now she was in medieval Scotland.
