I do not own a single thing that has anything to do with the following at all!

(Cortondo - Paldea Region)

[Cortondo Gym Battlefield]

Currently, it was a normal day in the town of Cortondo. The place was well known for the olive roll festival, where participants would roll around a giant rubber Olive around in order to make a good harvest come out. Another thing that was well known about Cortondo was the fact that it was usually the first stop for trainers taking part in the Gym Challenge.

This was due to the fact that Katy, the Cortondo gym leader, was assumed to be the weakest gym leader because of her preference for bug type Pokemon. She proved many arrogant trainers wrong with her skills, with many having underestimated the power of bug-type Pokemon.

Currently, Katy was having a battle again another Pokemon trainer, but this wasn't a battle over a gym badge. This was a battle against someone she has been taking care of ever since he arrived in Cortondo one day under mysterious circumstances.

The person in question was a young man who looked like he was about 17 years old. He was wearing a black hoodie, a white T-shirt, slightly worn out blue jeans, and black sneakers. His scruffy blonde hair was for everyone to see, along with his deep blue eyes and fair skin.

This young man's name is Jaune Arc, and he was currently having a battle against the woman who took care of him ever since he arrived at the land of Paldea.

The Pokemon he was commanding was a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon which resembles a locust. It is primarily dark gray, with glossy black colorations on the head, thorax, lower abdomen, forearms, lower legs, and third set of legs. Its face is covered in a mask-like plate and contains a pair of black triangular antennae with two white stripes on top, along with orange triangular eyes and a triangular notch on its chin. Its thorax and abdomen are separated by a white belt, with an X-shaped pattern at the front. It has a pair of white claws on each of its hands, and a single claw on each foot. Its forearms have an orange spike each, while its calves have two orange spikes protruding towards the back. Behind the Pokemon's body is its third set of legs, attached to its abdomen. These legs are oblong with a symbol resembling the general prohibition sign on the outside of the joints, and connect to thin, rectangular forelimbs. Each of the forelimbs have five orange spikes and a single white claw at the bottom.

This Pokemon is Lokix, the grasshopper Pokemon. Jaune has been using this Pokemon ever since it evolved from Nymble the past year he has been stuck in the Pokemon world.

Katy, on the other hand, was using a Pokemon that is a bipedal, ursine Pokémon. Its broad body is covered in brown fur, except for its muzzle, inner ears, and paw pads, which are yellow. It has narrow eyes, a triangular, black nose, and a wide mouth with small, visible fangs in the upper jaw. The fur on the Pokemon's shoulders is longer and more structured, with rectangular extensions. There is a large, yellow, ring-shaped mark shaped like a new moon on its chest. The Pokemon's forelimbs are long, ending in five claws each, while its hind legs are short and thick, ending in three claws each. Its tail is large and spherical in shape.

This Pokemon is Ursaring, the strongest Pokemon Katy has in her possession.

"Use slash!"ordered Katy, causing the hibernator pokémon to charge towards the grasshopper Pokemon with the intention of attacking him with her claws.

"Dodge it!"ordered Jaune, causing Lokix to jump out of the way upon hearing his trainer's command.

"Use lunge!"orders Jaune with passion in his voice.

Upon hearing his trainer's command, Lokix's body becomes covered in green energy. It then lunges at the opponent and kicks Ursaring in the stomach! This caused the hibernator Pokemon to let out a gasp of air before she was pushed back and fell to the ground.

Ursaring quickly tries to get up since she still has some fight left in her!

"Use axe kick!"orders Jaune, deciding to use this next move to finish the battle.

Lokix immediately begins the attack by kicking up into the air and slamming its heel down upon the target AKA Ursaring! As soon as the hibernator pokémon is hit by the super effective fighting type move, she immediately falls to the ground where it is revealed that she had been knocked out!

"My, my, you really have been getting better, Jaune. I'm so glad I gave you that Lokix back when it was just a Nymble."said Katy, proud of her student while she recalled her pokémon back to her pokeball.

"Thanks, Miss Katy. I really appreciate you taking me in when I had nowhere else to go. I also admire how you taught me the power of bug-type pokémon, which caused me to revolve my team around the strongest bug type user in the world, Pokemon League Unova Champion Alder."said Jaune while he was recalling Lokix back to his pokeball.

"Jaune, are you sure you want to go back to Area Zero?"inquired the gym leader.

"Yes... Since it is the only way I'm sure I'll find a way home."said Jaune with a serious look on his face.

Katy just let out a sigh, wondering what she was going to do with this boy from another world.

For more context, Jaune Arc isn't exactly from Paldea. In fact, he's not even from the Pokemon world at all. He's from a completely different world entirely! This planet was known as Remnant.

Jaune comes from a world filled with creatures that are much more dangerous than any Pokemon, known as the creatures of Grimm. Unlike Pokemon, Grimm are nasty creatures that want nothing more than to destroy humanity and everything humanity has built. It also doesn't help that they come in all sorts of shape and sizes and have numerous abilities that make it hard for humans to fight them on a daily basis.

The young man was training to become a huntsman, individuals specifically trained to combat the Grimm with special weapons.

Now, how did a young man from a world full of darkness come to the Pokemon world?

Well, it all started in a place called Beacon Academy. Jaune was the first year student there, and he was falling behind in his classes because he wasn't exactly like the other students. He had to use more unusual means to get into the school, meaning he wasn't as skilled as his fellow peers. One of the classes he was having difficulty with was science class. Jaune had to show the properties of Dust, a rare mineral from the planet of Remnant that gives humans basically magical powers in the form of special ammo for their weapons.

So what was the young man's bright idea?...It was to shoot a current of electricity through experimental dust he got through the connection with the heiress to the largest producers of Dust, Weiss Schnee, the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. He only managed to acquire the experimental Dust after an hour of begging and pleading...

So the young man managed to acquire what he wanted, and after sticking a bunch of wires and circuits onto the Dust, one can pretty much figure out what happened next. Apparently, shooting a current of unstable electricity into the Dust crystals all at once created some kind of portal that sucked Jaune into a place called Ultra Space!

The next thing Jaune Arc knew, he was in the Paldea Region!

The young man managed to spend a few days surviving on what he could, and one day he was searching for scraps at the Patisserie Soapberry, and that is when the owner and head chef, Katy herself, discovered him. Jaune quickly apologized for going through her trash, explaining that he didn't have any money to pay for proper food.

The gym leader felt bad for him, since it was clear he had nowhere else to go based on the fact he was wearing dirty clothes, smelled like he hadn't showered in days, and was thinking through the trash like a common Raticate. So she decided to take him in. He eventually told her his story, and although skeptical at first, she finally believed him when it was clear that he had never seen a Pokemon before.

She was going to bring this information to her boss La Primera, but the young man begged her not to do it. He had seen enough Sci-Fi movies to know that he would probably be experimented on or something. Katy, once again feeling bad for the young man, decided not to tell her boss.

One thing led to another, and Jaune was showing the power of bug type Pokemon. At first the young man doubted that bugs could be that strong, but he eventually learned that Katy was in fact the strong Pokemon trainer who always has to hold back, because new trainers always choose Cortondo a their first stop, since it was the closest to Mesagoza, the capital city of Paldea.

The young man eventually learned how to appreciate bug type Pokemon, feeling a sense of kindred spirits with them since he was often compared to a bug back at Beacon Academy...

That eventually let him to build his team around one of the strongest traders in the world who uses bug type Pokemon, Unova Region Pokemon League Champion Alder.

Currently, back in the present, Jaune was letting out a breath of relief. Although his Lokix had managed to beat his teacher's Ursaring, it was no small feat. It took everything the young man and the grasshopper Pokemon had just defeat Katy's strongest Pokemon.

"You really have improved, Jaune."said Katy with a smile on her face before she approaches her student.

Jaune looked at her warmly before the two hugged. There were no romantic feelings between the two of them. It was more in line with a parent and child. Katy took in Jaune when he literally had nowhere else to go, so he was quite fond of the pastry chef. To him, she was like the mentor he never had.

"I'm so glad working hard to be a better Pokemon trainer. The Lokix certainly has gotten stronger from the Nymble I gave you. He was so happy for you and became his Pokemon trainer that I can tell."said Katie with a warm smile.

"Well, you're the one who showed me how powerful bug type Pokemon can be with proper training. To answer your question, I am planning on going back to Area Zero. I want more than anything to go back home, and I have a feeling when I'm looking for it."said Jaune, who was confident that something in the Great Crater of Paldea would lead him going back to Remnant.

"Are you sure this is what you want? You know, you could always stay."said Katy, who had grown fond of the young man.

After all, you don't take care of something for over a year and not grow fond of it... that's just not how life works.

"I made a promise to a special someone back home that I was going to be a great huntsman. I want to keep that promise more than anyone, since she had a great friend of mine are the only people in my life whoever believed in me...And with my team of powerful Pokemon by my side, I feel like I'm one step closer to becoming a proper huntsman."said Jaune, who wanted to be both of Pokemon trainer and a huntsman at the same time.

"Ah yes, Pyrrha Nikos and Ruby Rose. You are quite fond of those two."said Katy, who knew exactly who her student was referring to.

"Yeah... they help me when I was feeling way down...And they believed in me when even my own family didn't, so I got to keep my promise to them."said Jaune, who wanted to go back and see his true friends once again.

"I can certainly understand why you want to go back home. Your family, your friends, your life is back there. And I can tell with a hundred percent certainty that your Pokemon want to accompany you anywhere you go. You and those six Pokemon you have by your side have formed powerful bonds, even that paradox Pokemon you managed to acquire from Area Zero. It will be talked with you gone, but I hope wherever you go, you can be happy."said Katy before hugging the young man again.

She was going to miss her student. That was something she was sure of. It was evident by the fact that a small tear fell down from her face.

"Thank you for everything, Miss Katy. I will never forget the kindness you have shown me by taking me in when I had nowhere else to go. If it wasn't for you, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be alive today."said Jaune, who was sure of this fact.

"Well, the flying taxi will be here any minute. Now just make sure you do not do anything stupid, after all, other than that paradox Pokemon you captured, the other paradox Pokemon that call Area Zero their home are still wild and untamed, and more than willing to attack anyone who enters their territory."said Katy, giving her student one last warning before he would leave, possibly for good this time!

"I know... This isn't the first time I've gone to the Great Crater of Paldea. Area Zero isn't for a normal trip, but luckily for me, I'm not normal."said Jaune with confidence, just as the flying taxi arrived.

He quickly gave his teacher a quick hug back before the two of them broke it off, and she waved goodbye to him as he answered the taxi. A couple of moments later, Jaune was in the air and was being taken to the place that would possibly take him home.

He looked at the 6 pokeballs he had collected over his year in the Pokemon world. Each pokeball contains a pokémon he formed a powerful bond with, including his Lokix. He then looks over at an Ultra Ball he had within his pokeball collection. Inside of that, Ultra Ball was a paradox Pokemon, one whom he has spent months forming a bond with. He was now sure that this paradox pokémon had his back, but he had to be careful... After all, it's buddies back in Area Zero are probably mad at him for taking their friend. But he could care less at that moment, since he had to get back home!

Now, the only issue was if he could reach the deepest level of Area Zero unscathed! He has tried multiple attempts to reach that level, but each time, the powerful paradox Pokemon pushed him back. This is one of the reasons why he captured a paradox Pokemon in the first place so that he would have a chance of taking them on! Now that he was confident that his Pokemon were at a level that could rival those powerful pokémon from the past and future, then he was confident that he could get back home on this very day!

Now, the only question is if this confidence and belief in his Pokemon would get him somewhere?!

There is only one way to find out!

This is the Rewritten version of my original story, The PokeArc Return.

I changed up some of the Pokemon in the story in order to make it more interesting. I also did my best to make the story longer this time since a lot of you were saying that the story was too small. I agree with you back then. Now let's see how you like the Rewritten version.

I'm probably going to use a different paradox Pokemon in the one I used before, but I'm still not sure. If any of you have any suggestions for Pokemon Jaune, can you use it on his journey? Feel free to leave me a comment or send me a private message.

All you have to do is go into your PM section and send a private message to OkitaLopez.

Now, the next chapter should be out today or tomorrow. It all depends on my mood and if I have any inspiration to write.

Well, that is pretty much everything I had to say, so enjoy this chapter in the meantime.

I hope to hear back from all of you, and I hope I can get your support once again.

This story will be sticking around for the foreseeable future!

That is pretty much everything I had to say, so have a great rest of the day, everyone, and I hope to see you next time.

Goodbye for now.
