Chapter 5: The hard past

Reyna's POV

As I was walking back to her house after her kiss with Percy she was still smiling when there was a bright flash of light behind me, I instantly drew my spear ready for an altercation if one came.

As I turned I saw a very beautiful woman, one who took my breath away after a moment I realized that it was Lady Venus.

After a moment of confusion, I kneeled in front of Venus and said "Lady Venus". Venus looked at me and had me stand and said "would you mind if we talked somewhere private"

I nodded and led Venus to my house. Once we were inside I gestured for her to sit on the comfortable couch in the corner and she obliged.

I sat on my bed waiting for her to speak and after a minute Venus finally said "i saw you and Percy kissing." She stated

I immediately paled at this wondering where the goddess of love was going with this. Venus saw my reaction and just laughed saying "no child i bear you no harm"

I released a big breath not realizing I had been holding it.

Venus continued saying "actually I am more of a fan of what is going on between you two." I nervously adjusted myself on my bed saying "what do you mean?"

To which Venus responded saying "I sense your feelings for each other even if you are trying to hide them. A long time ago I promised to make Perseus's love life interesting and it has been I threw in a few roadblocks, but there was just one problem the girl he was with I didn't love him and her together but you and him I am sensing more feelings and it will be much more interesting."

I looked at the goddess questioningly "what do you mean" I asked questionably.

Venus just laughed saying "I can not share that information now but you will see soon enough, but before then I will show you part of the reason I am done with Perseus's old relationship." Venus got up and walked over to me and put her hands on my temples and all I saw was black.

Flashback Same POV

When I got my vision back I was looking at Percy and a blonde girl walking together in the woods, and after a second I recognized the blonde girl as Annabeth Chase. The girl who helped Percy escape and destroy Circe's island.

Then I heard a voice behind me saying "yes you are right about who that is as Reyna my dear." I turned and saw Venus but she looked different. "Venus" I questioned? "Oh no dear girl right now I am Aphrodite" I was confused about this and thought about my conversation with Nico and this was making more sense.

I just focused on the vision I was seeing as Percy and Annabeth were walking through the forest. They were silent, just enjoying each other's company and completely relaxed.

Then there was a rustling in the trees on either side of them Percy immediately drew his sword which Reyna recognised from the duel earlier.

Percy immediately jumped into action killing the hellhound quickly but annabeth was having worse luck she didn't have a weapon with her she cursed as she wove around trees trying to distract the monster until Percy could help her.

But she made a mistake as she slipped in the mud and just as the hellhound pounced to kill the girl I watched as the monster froze in midair over Annabeth.

I turned to see Percy holding his hands up he clenched his fist and the hellhound turned to dust that rained down on Annabeth.

Percy collapsed on the ground and leaned against a tree to keep him up the ordeal must have tired him out Annabeth was just looking at him with fear in her eyes and she ran back to camp.

Percy's face was visibly saddened as she ran away he was too tired to even call out to her as she ran away the sight made me sad.

As Percy leaned against the tree the ground around him started bubbling even in his tired state he was still able to get up and ready his sword. As the ground continued to rise it slowly formed into a dirt woman who had her eyes closed and she talked without her mouth moving. She said" already your friends are abandoning you who do you think is next."

Percy looked at her and asked "who are you and what do you want dirt face."

She had a low evil laugh as she said "that's no way to treat your great grandmother" Percy took a step back running into the tree he said "Gaea."

"So you are not as dumb as it seems without your daughter of Athena girlfriend." Since you found out who I am I bet now you are wondering what I want.

Percy waited for a second but when she didn't continue. He asked, "Are you pausing for dramatic effect or something because it's not working?" She then continued saying "I want you to join me Perseus you defeated my children the Titans which takes great power you would be a powerful ally."

Percy laughed at this saying no thanks. "Let me guess you're trying to take down the gods" to which she answered "yes", he paused in his laughter and answered "I will not join you, I will fight for the Olympians."

"Ok" she answered "I gave you a chance"

he heard rustling on all sides of him except behind him, so he ran the monsterw quickly caught up to him he turned to face them.

One was a large hellhound that swiped its paw across his head not dealing any damage because of the curse of Achilles but definitely give him a concussion he stabbed the hellhound killing it.

The other two monster were scythian Dracenae which he dealt with quickly he started running to the a big house to tell chiron.

Once he got to the big house porch Aphrodite greeted him and she was blocking the door and he said "please move i don't have time for this i have to talk to Chiron." She looked at him sadly and said "first listen" Percy nodded and followed her inside quietly.

I heard Annabeth's voice presumably talking to the person Percy referred to as Chiron and then I thought wait Chrion no it can't be.

But I continued to watch and listen as I had nothing else to do.

As Reyan listened she heard Annabeth inside the room sounding quite startled, she was saying "he reached his hands up and stopped the hellhounds movement i think he controlled it's blood." Chiron simply said "it makes sense blood's base ingredient is water." Annabeth said "still it's unsettling, it's monstrous. What if he turned those powers on me, on any of us?"

Percy looked crestfallen at this and looked at Aphrodite helplessly and Annabeth continued "maybe Percy is a monster with him being able to do that" Annabeth said this made my blood run cold i wanted nothing more than to walk in there and beat her to a pulp.

I could see Percy was broken and was about to cry but stayed silent so as to stay hidden.

From inside the room Chrion told Annabeth "you know that is not that is not true so do not say such things" he said sternly, and annabeth responded "I guess you're right." But that didn't help the look on Percy's face and Aphrodite looked at Percy just as sad.

And then there was a flash and Percy was gone with a note that Aphrodite picked up immediately and it said "I have started this— Hera" I read it from over Aphrodites shoulder.

Almost immediately after the flash Chiron and Annbeth came out to investigate what it was that caused the flash, they were both surprised to see Aphrosdite standing there.

Annabeth was the first to react. Her eyes were red like she had been crying and she asked Aphrodite "what are you doing here?"

Aphrodite flashed a melancholy smile before saying I was showing and talking to Percy she said glaring daggers at Annabeth.

When she heard this Annabeth paled and asked the question "how much he did he hear and where is he now."

"To answer your first question he heard all of it, and to answer your second one i don't know Hera has him"The goddess of Love said.

Aphrodite showed Annabeth the note,and Chiron read the note over her shoulder he looked at Aphrodite and asked "is it what i fear it is" she nodded at Chiron.

Annabeth still hadn't gotten over what happened to Percy, and she said "where did Hera take him?" Aphrodiite answered saying "none of the Olympians know what she is doing this is against Zeus's wishes." my vision started to go black again.

End Of Flashback Same POV

Once my Vision came back all I could think to say was "oh". Aphrodite said "yes I know, quite sad. Percy loved her, he depended on her and she abandoned him when he may have needed her help the most. It hurt him deeply. I don't think he will ever return to her. She is searching for him right now."

She opened her palm and there was a misty image in her hand of a cyclops, a very large hellhound, Annabeth, and a faun, all talking seriously.

Aphrodite closed her palm and looked at the daughter of Bellona. "You will talk to no one about this; you can discuss it with Percy once his memory returns though. Good luck you will need it soon enough now off to bed" Aphrodite said and waved her hand and I fell asleep.
