Spider-Man was face to face with the symbiote, now calling itself Venon, a horrible monster with great height and a lot of strength. It was better than him in presumably every way, though he knew at least two weaknesses. Assuming they still applied. How to win this fight seemed difficult and keep the chaos to the minimum. Another thing not looking in his favor.
Its sharpened nails almost cut through Spider-Man's suit if not for quick acting as he started to run away thinking of a plan. The first idea was a pretty simple one, setting off the alarm. He wondered why it didn't go off yet.
"What's the matter, punk! Waiting for some loud noises! Too bad, someone must've sabotaged the system! Opse!" Venom mocked walking slowly after him. "Thought we'd make it that easy! We know you very well!"
Peter sighed and gave a quick smack to the wall. Okay, that's bad. Does it still have a physical connection? Or just my memories?
"Call for backup!" Peter said, running down the halls. "Call the military while you are at it! And the Avengers too please!" He added, not actually expecting anybody to help now. This was his problem and his fight.
Right behind him Venom was nowhere to be seen.
Spider-Man stopped, having a bad feeling. There was no spider sense that could be relied on, only his eyes and ears. "Hey, scary monster? Where are you?" He moved out of the way correctly figuring that would antagonize Venom who appeared smashing the ground where Peter was standing.
"Oh, you are annoying. Little rat!" Venom yelled and threw himself forward.
"Arachnid! Do I look like a rat? Are you confused? Hit your head? Forgetting how to use words properly, I mean you say "we" a lot pal!" Peter replied back with tons of sarcasm realizing how easy it was to trigger him.
Venom kept chasing after him, running and moving way too quickly, almost too fast for the hero to avoid all the blows. One punch crashed him right through a wall.
"That hurt, you hit hard. That's not surprising." Spider-Man leaped backward onto the ceiling looking at Venom who fired out a lot of webbing blocking the way forward trapping him in the room. "Oh wonderful."
He waved at Spider-Man in a cocky manner. "Now if you excuse me, I have to continue your failure. You've failed miserably and now I'm going to kill the worst man alive in this retchit place!" Venom exclaimed and ran away, tearing into the ground with each step.
Peter sighed heavily and started trying to rip away the webbing, finding it difficult as it was a lot more durable than his own. This isn't working. He looked around, deciding on having to rip out the ceiling, hoping to find an air vent. With some effort, it was successful. The only problem was he didn't know where to go or where Venom would be heading exactly inside the building. Destruction was everywhere, along with guards webbed to the walls. That didn't help with giving direction.
"How does this guy cause such a mess in a couple minutes?" Peter said allowed shaking his head.
Doctor Kafka rushed over to him. "That monster, it's going to destroy everything!"
"Yeah, where does Cletus Kasady happen to be? I think he's going to kill him."
Peter was swinging through Ravencroft after getting the location from the doctor. I can't believe I'm going to potentially die trying to save a mass murderer. I mean, even letting him die isn't an option. Nobody else is dying. I would've even saved Sin Eater had I gotten the chance, even with everything he did. That thing, Venom. It's definitely not like me. Even though I got close with it on me, I never went this low.
He was almost to the cell, seeing the chaos caused by his new adversary with more guards webbed up, but alive. Okay, okay. At least he's not killing everyone in this path, maybe he might be semi responsible?
Kasady was thrown from his cell banging into the wall, but still managed to laugh. "Hey man, you really know how to show a guy a good time! I didn't know you had this kinda fun in you Eddie!"
"Eddie Brock?" Spider-Man questioned, getting the attention of Venom who exited the cell was his creepy eyes honing in on him.
"Ah! Our two favorites in place!" Venom exclaimed with a delightful tone.
Spider-Man got defensive. "Oh? Why do I get to be bundled up with the deranged mass murderer? What'd I ever do to you?"
"Oh, where do we start!" He roared and threw Kasady at Spider-Man who caught the dranaged maniac and webbed him to the wall. Venom came charging at them with his tongue coming out.
Peter leaped up and punched him hard across the face. "Gross. And you listen up Eddie Brock! I'm not letting you get away with killing anyone! This nightmare ends now!" He used all his strength beating him down. It wasn't enough.
A very large fist came whacking Peter right back again, then felt a web on his chest. He was processed to be taken up and down being banged around all over. It ultimately was quite painful and dizzying.
"Enjoying the ride, Spider-Man!" The creature laughed.
Peter was gritting his teeth and dug into the wall, bringing the ride to an end. He then started throwing debris as Venom hit him in the face.
"Gah! You think that'll do anything, little arachnid!"
He shrugged. "Well you know what they say, everything but the kitchen sink!" Spider-Man kept throwing chucks of the wall at his foe, who was stepping closer starting to grab it mid air just crushing it.
"That will be your skull next if you don't get out of my way!" He exclaimed, getting quite a bit frustrated by this.
Peter understood this loud and clear, starting to run back, as finally some security was arriving with some weapons, basically an entire arsenal. "Uh, does anyone have a fire based grenade? Sonic? If not, get back!"
They looked at each other, then at Venom, completely ignoring what Spider-Man said, opening fire with all they had.
Brock wasn't stupid and started to block the incoming bullets making a webbing shield to take up the majority of the shots. Not that it would have mattered anyway to a significant amount the bullets that made contact almost bounced off the suit.
Fortunately, the guards weren't stupid either. Upon seeing this didn't work, they all decided to run away in fear. One of them had a sonic grenade and gave it to Spider-Man before getting out of there.
"Oh Eddie! Catch!" Spider-Man shouted and threw it at Venon, finally getting to affect him making the symbiote begin to scream. More importantly, gave an opening to grab onto Brock with his webs.
"No! You won't take us!" He shouted at the top of his lungs and was keeping himself from being pulled away trying to rip off the webbing as the symbiote reformed around him slowly.
Peter realized this wasn't going to work and looked around, seeing that the situation improved at least. Now it was only them in the area as his target and others really removed from that section of Ravencroft. He decided it was time to get out and lure him away, hopefully to some more noise.
Venom almost followed before stopping and shaked his head. "Oh no, nice try little Spider-Man! You're trying to lure us into another trap. Maybe we should enact the second part of our revenge plan! Paying your dearest a visit!" He exclaimed and busted through the wall starting to leave.
There was no hesitation in following along as Peter swung after Venom.
At home Mary Jane was just sitting around with Ava, aka White Tiger hanging around still keeping an eye out for trouble. Along with just quite frankly just enjoying her company finding MJ a fun person. They were currently having a good laugh.
"Never gets old, seeing a bad guy thinking they'll get away from me. That guy though, he was a really poor guy at escaping." She laughed. "Anyhow, got any interesting stories to think of?"
MJ shrugged. "Oh probably could think of a few that would put you to shame. I have considered acting afterall." She said in a dramatic voice.
Before a laugh could be had, Ava's phone rang interrupting and she knew it was Peter from the ringtone. "Hey what's up? Find that creep yet?" She asked putting on the phone on speaker phone.
"I think he's on his way to you! I can't keep up with him!" Peter said, sounding like he was moving incredibly fast.
She took a peek out the window. "What am I looking for?"
"A giant freaking monster! You can't miss him. Then again, I think he could be able to shape shift. Look out for anyone out of the ordinary."
Ava looked with worry at MJ who was listening closely.
"What's his weakness? Sound? Fire?"
"I have only tried sound yet. You two wouldn't happen to have any weapons of mass destruction would you?" Peter asked, sounding a little hopeful.
White Tiger put on her mask. "We don't. And it looks like someone is stepping toward the house. Delivery man. Were you expecting a delivery?"
"No. I wasn't."
She nodded in understanding and popped her head out of the window. "Okay, maybe if I can get the drop o-" Ava was interrupted getting pulled away with a black web line getting brought into the grip of Venom.
"Oh dear, poor White Tiger, fell for the old fake delivery trick! He arrived right on time! Knew our friend Peter would have you waiting around!" He said cocky.
Desperate to break loose, she head butted him. Ultimately just hurting herself more and couldn't break free.
"You're strong, but I'm much stronger!" Venom exclaimed with pride.
"Good for you." White Tiger said softly and managed to get her claws out giving him a bit of a sharp sting which worked to get free. "You really want to have my inner tiger get loose? Believe me, I think neither of us want that."
Venom gave a quick laugh. "Ah yes, we remember. A benefit of having all the memories of Spider-Man, recalling everything you can do. You pose no threat to us."
"What exactly do you want?" Ava questioned looking around.
"Us? To make the little man feel what we have felt! Fear! Uncertainty! Anger." He said with his large teeth grinding.
White Tiger shook her head. "Sounds pretty sad to me."
That didn't make Venom happy as they charged at her trying yet again to web her up to pull in closer. Fortunately, even knowing how she moved didn't mean it would make it easier to catch a moving slippery target. Not with the fantastic agility of Ava.
"Stay still!" Venom cried, becoming annoyed and then in his rage managed to shoot out webbing from multiple parts of his body, which did manage to stop her. "Ha! Now there is nowhere to run. After I'm done with you, I think Ms. Mary Jane Watson deserves a visit!"
A crack to the back of his head seemed to put a tamper into that idea, as Spider-Man finally arrived. "You won't go anywhere near her!" He shouted and started beating down Venom, getting a lot of strength in his hits.
Peter was stopped by Venom using the same trick more webbing.
"Nice try, Spider-Man. You underestimate the power we harnice! We are so much stronger than you with those pitiful powers. We have upgrades, benefits you rejected for those red and blues!" He exclaimed with hatred.
"Who's talking now huh? Eddie? Or the symbiote?" Spider-Man said weakly as Venom stepped closer.
"We are one! One! Bonded!" He shouted and put Spider-Man into the air by his throat.
He gave a laugh as much as possible given the circumstance. "Really Eddie? Symbiote? Why are you both so insecure? So mad at me for rejecting you? Almost like you don't really want Eddie that bad?"
"That's not true!" It yelled and threw Spider-Man away. "You're trying to manipulate us! Give us doubts about our bond!"
"Then why is my question hurting you two if not the truth?" Spider-Man said and broke free as Venom rushed at him in a blind rage. "Oh no! Sorry for making you mad, I know the truth hurts!" He continued speaking, moving out of the way going under him and managed to kick into the air. Then as Venom was confused, Spider-Man used all the force in his fists smacking him across the street into a car. It even exploded which was better than hoped for as the fire weakened the symbiote as it stumbled away.
"Get back here Brock!" Spider-Man exclaimed, chasing after him as he went into someone's backyard.
"Wait, Spider-Man!" Ava said getting loose and started to follow.
He snapped his head back. "Stay with her!" Peter's voice was dead serious as he pursued Venom looking around for him. "Where are you!"
Spider-Man looked around for the devious alien, finding nothing like he had managed to disappear. It was creepy. Where did he get to, that fast? That's impossible. He's a giant freaking walking talking black alien goo monster!
As he continued looking around the backyard, a large hand grabbed the back of Spider-Man's head and pulled him back. "Surprise!"
"How did you do that!?" Peter exclaimed, trying to break loose and hit back swinging wildly with all his body before getting smacked into the ground making quite an unpleasant pounding noise.
"Another trick! We can blend in with the environment, bet you never knew that about us Spider-Man!" The symbiote laughed.
"I think Chameleon would like a word with you." He said softly and managed to web onto a trash can, throwing it at his head. It did nothing. All that was done as a result was being thrown into the house, which unfortunately had a couple of scared people inside.
As Venom stepped inside after Spider-Man, the couple looked terrified by his presence cowering in fear.
"No! I'm not the villain! This little runt is!" He shouted, not helping his case, which the creature had enough self awareness to understand. "This is all a terrible mistake."
"You're right, if you're not trying to be scary, perhaps Venom isn't a good name? Or giant sharp teeth? Or-"
Venom roared. "Shut up!" Before attacking again, he looked back at the people deciding on turning around. "Fine. We are done here."
That wasn't something Peter was wanting to hear, not after everything that had been happening. "Oh no! You aren't getting away!" Before going after Venom he quickly checked on the people and ran out seeing his foe swinging away. Now where is that manic heading to?
Spider-Man didn't hasate in chasing after him, being able to spot the alien wondering where it would be heading to now. His phone started to ring, expecting correctly it was MJ who was calling.
"Please tell me you're alive!"
"I am answering, so yes I'm alive. Hurt and really, really angry but alive. So sorry put you into the middle of this mess Mary Jane." He said, sounding down. It was a terrifying thought, what could've happened if not for Ava being around. What that monster could've done being alone with her.
"Hey, don't blame yourself. Wasn't like you wanted an alien to take over your body and then take over someone else's body to kill your favorite person." She replied with a bit of sarcasm, but it came from a place of sincerity.
Peter laughed a little. "Thanks, I always know how to make things alright. Is Ava okay? Didn't get to check on her better either. Venom is escaping. Their name, not my choice of naming."
"Ava is okay, she's right here. Where do you think that guy, Venom is going now?"
He sighed, while trying to keep up. "No idea. If I don't die, I'd be happy to tell you."
"Hey, don't talk like that. You aren't going to die against that alien. You beat it once and have been fighting it back all day."
Peter thought about the situation further. "Brock, he didn't want to hurt other people. Besides you and Ava obviously, but I mean people not involved. He left them alone, perhaps there is still a way of reasoning with him."
"Maybe, if anyone can reason with someone like that. It'd be you. Or a negotiator. Or maybe a doctor. Could probably think of more."
He laughed. "Thanks for the confidence."
A few minutes into the chase, it was becoming more clear where Venom was heading as the monster crashed into a building. A few men started opening fire immediately in fear of what it was. Like before, this was barely a threat as he made his way through them easily busting through a wall grabbing onto a familiar man. "You're going to tell us where our family is!"
The mysterious man who threatened Eddie before didn't look too surprised by this. Wasn't even intimated yet.
Spider-Man came into the room. "Let him down, Brock." He went and launched at his enemy getting smack away, but managed to web back straight away. With that, used all the force in his fist smacking Venom back. It worked to hurt the alien, but not enough as Spider-Man was webbed to a wall.
"Gah! You don't understand what this man has done. He took away my family, took them to places unknown to us! If anyone deserves to die, it'd be him."
"Then how do you find that family of yours?" The man questioned with a smirk.
Venom tightened his grip. "We will wipe that smirk off that face. Tear it off completely! I don't need you dead, just talking!"
A web grabbed onto the alien's arm. "If you kill him, then we can't make a reasonable end to this conflict."
"Ha! What makes you think I want peace, Spider-Man. Thinks this changes anything, we have the most hatred for you! If not for you this man would've never taken our family! That's right, hero! It's on you!"
Peter looked confused by this and shook his head. "You can't be serious! I don't even know who this guy is!"
"I took his family and got him to watch you. A perk of being a US Marshal. Was going to go well, then he became this. You pissed off A.I.M, that's who originally paid me. Wanted to figure you out, knew that Brock would be a good easy target to manipulate."
"Your family is missing? That's part of your grievances? Why didn't you just say so?" Peter held off from speaking more of his mind there.
Venom's tongue came out again. "Yes! And we want to know where! You said originally paid you, we want clarification! Who is behind this!"
The man used a freehand to press a switch one that activated a sonic attack in the room and started to seriously hurt Venom. "Now we can end this."
"No!" Spider-Man used all his strength to break loose, not even hesitating with wanting to help his foe then webbed onto the guy's hand. "Turn it off now!"
"Are you insane! Look at that thing! It's a damned alien! This will destroy it and that will save both of us. Hell, this entire planet!"
Peter wasn't listening to that and smacked the device out of his hand shattering it. "Not even he is dying today."
As the sound stopped, he tried grabbing another weapon. This time however, Venom was the one to step in breaking the weapon before it powered on. "You saved me? Are you a fool?"
"Maybe." Spider-Man admitted with a shrug.
Venom scoffed and grabbed back onto the man. "Now then, tell us where our family is! I'll bite your head off!"
"The Life Foundation!" The man revealed. "I have no allegiance to them. I'll tell you everything if I'm allowed to leave."
"Ha!" Brock couldn't help but laugh a lot at this. "You can't possibly be serious! The only reason you won't die is because of that web headed fool! Where is my family!"
The man looked at both of them. "Fine. I have no idea where they are stashed. The Life Foundation is based out of San Francisco. Would seem they have an interest in your alien type, and have history there apparently from what little I was told. Your best bet would be searching there first, I think they must be waiting for you Mr. Brock."
"We are Venom!" He threw the guy at Spider-Man who grabbed onto. "And we'll find our family. Kill whoever is responsible! Including you if you dare to stand in our way"
Spider-Man shook his finger. "If you do, I won't let you leave. Kill that is. Don't care whatever you'd be on earth. Would come for you and put a stop to you. Even if you manage to kill me. Don't forget I have friends. Like White Tiger, who is an Avenger, you know what that right smart guy?"
Venom put his mouth and teeth close to Spider-Man's face, as his lenses got more serious, staring down his enemy with his suit torn a bit all over.
"Fine Spider-Man. A truce. For now. You did save our life afterall. Though. Once we have our family back, all bets are off however. We kill you. And we kill that mass murder. Along with anyone else who is leading us astray."
"I'll be ready for you next time, Brock. Don't ever come back to New York. Does that sound like a clear statement for you to understand?"
He glared at Spider-Man, stepping away slowly. "Don't push your luck. Feel joyful we didn't get to finish our fight."
"You're the one who should feel joy. Walking out of this fight in one piece, now get out of the city and go find your family. Remember. Never return or else you won't be getting a friendly neighborhood experience from me." Spider-Man definitely said.
That was enough for Venom who swung away, as Peter sighed heavily looking around the room. Did I just win? Peter looked out the window, seeing the alien leaving. Okay, maybe I did? Congrats to myself? Okay, well now I have to get someone down here to arrest these chuckle heads. Too bad I don't have Dewolfe's number. Oh well, I will leave these guys on the ground. Probably should've asked that manic to help me with that, but I wasn't feeling like pushing my luck. Ah well. At least that crisis is over.
As the crisis finished with Venom, something else was going on in Ravencroft. Everything was going back to normal, with the patients being returned to their cells, including the monster Spider-Man had saved and Venom so very much wanted to kill that day.
"Come on! A little fresh air wouldn't hurt! Never know, could give me clarity and ease my desire to slaughter you all!" The mass murder laughed.
"Shut your mouth!" One of the guard's shouted back and threw him into the cell with a couple more guards behind with their weapons raised concerned. His danger and body count was frightening, but the danger was over as the cell was locked tight.
They all walked off relieved.
Doctor Kafka came over. "We'll have counseling with you tomorrow. I'm deeply sorry for what you had to experience today."
He cackled to himself. "Oh don't worry doctor, I'll pay my friend there a visit. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but I got a feeling one day we're all going to have fun!"
"If that helps you cope, I'm glad. Though also concerned. Goodnight." She said walking away, shivering a little.
"Oh I'll get out! Mark my words! After all." He paused, smiling looking at a very precurlier cut on his hand. "Evil is in my blood!"
After finishing up there, Peter was making his way back home giving a call to Mary Jane hoping to catch her up on everything. He rushed through it on the phone, wanting to put this behind them and give her the world's biggest hug. Maybe a kiss too.
He swung in through her window after sneaking past the police presence and quite literally sweep her off her feet.
"A little happy aren't you!" She exclaimed as Peter put her back down.
With a laugh he nodded. "Well after surviving fighting an alien with all my powers you can't quite blame me. Still, wish was able to put him into custody so would be certain would be the end of it."
"Not the first maniac to have your identity and we're still here. I'd say you have a good way of figuring out problems." She remarked and gave him a kiss on the lips. "I'm really glad you're okay Peter."
"And I'm glad you're okay MJ. My life can be a little much. Really wish you didn't have to get dragged into it again however." He admitted with a downer tone.
She touched his face. "Hey, I know what I signed up for. Sure can't say I enjoyed seeing you and Ava get hurt on my behalf. That wasn't great. Still I'd leave if I didn't want to be here with you and you as Spider-Man. And I'm planted right here. Not going anywhere Peter. Promise."
"Jeez lady, you really make me feel like a lucky guy." He remarked and they continued to embrace.
(This bottom part was written before October 20th 2023)
That's the end, for now, for Venom. I apologize if this ending brough any disappointment. I personally wasn't as interested in a villain Venom lasting for too long in my story. (Sure will eat my words when Spider-Man 2 delivers something amazing and makes me regret not having more Venom) Partly why was as mentioned before was because of the tone change. Making horror themed chapters probably would be pushing how generally friendly the story is.
And one major look behind the scenes, my original plans all the way back in idk 2019? 2020? Was making Harry Venom, but I went against it partly because of the changes in the series' story going on and because of the backlash behind him being Venom presumably in the sequel. Can't say either way would've been better, if I could go back and do it all over again. Not sure what would change.
