1. Excerpt from "Colombia Mi Encanto" from Encanto

Back in Encanto, the summer sun was hitting pretty hard on all the workers. It was already hard enough that everyone had to harvest a bunch of food all over again, but it was even harder that they had to make double their usual annual quota.

Unfortunately, not even the strongest of all the men could take the heat so well, and many started to collapse after too much time in the sun.

And... there went another one.

"Mama!" Mirabel called, seeing another man fall.

"Oh no, not another one." Julieta groaned. "On three, Mija."

Mirabel and Julieta helped the man up to get him some water and medical attention.

"This is ridiculous!" Camilo said. "We're never going to make double quota before Máriverdé comes back."

"Well, we have to try, Camilo." Mirabel said. "We don't have any choice."

"Yeah, I know." Camilo sighed. "Any visions on when Mila will come back, Tio Bruno?"

"Nothing yet." Bruno said.

Bruno had been checking his visions at least three times every day, but couldn't see anything about his eldest daughter. He was beginning to get worried.

"I pray she's okay. She's been gone for a long time."

"At least she can't mess everything up here." said one man.

"Watch it! That's my daughter you're talking about." Bruno threatened. He looked to the heavens above. "Hear my prayer. Please let my precious Mila come home soon."

And what he didn't know then was that his prayer would be answered a lot sooner than he expected.

Rosella and Pedro were standing in Mila's scissor lift, searching with the Multi-Scope binoculars she gave them.

"Do you see her?" Pedro asked, as it was his sister's turn to look.

"Not yet." Rosella said.

"Hey, look who's playing lookout again," said one boy down below. "Rosie and Peter."

"The name is Rosella." Rosella corrected.

"And it's Pedro, not Peter." Pedro said.

"Well, Rosa..." said another boy. "You still looking for Mila?"

"Forget it, Princess. That freak show's never coming back."

"Call my sister a freak show, I'll haunt you in your dreams!" Pedro threatened.

However, that was when Rosella spotted something with her binoculars. She saw what looked like a bunch of flying horses with a bunch of people she'd never seen before, and among them... she saw...

"MILA! She did it! She did it!" Rosella cheered.

"What?!" Pedro said. "Where? Let me see!"

The boys down below decided to climb a tree to look for themselves.

Mila was ecstatic when she finally saw they were coming up on Encanto. How good it felt to finally be home!

"This is it!" Mila shouted. "This is Encanto!"

"It's even more beautiful than I imagined." Padme smiled.

None of the others could believe it when they saw how beautiful the kingdom looked from above.

"Mila! Over here! Mila!" shouted two familiar voices.

"Hey, hermanitos!" Mila smiled and waved to the twins.

The two boys climbed up into the highest tree they could find to see the newcomers, only to fall into the bushes down below.

Meanwhile, at the center of the kingdom...

"At the rate all these leaves are dropping," said Isabela. "We'll need a miracle."

"I agree. We need a miracle." Pepa said.

Suddenly, that was when a large shadow started to cover the area, and it wasn't from Pepa making a cloud, but she was starting to make one in a panic.

"Run for your lives!" Pepa screamed.

And everyone started to run and hide as fast as they could, thinking Mariverde came early or a bigger threat was coming about. But, it wasn't a threat. Several horses landed with their riders, and Mariposa landed herself, being the only other biped with wings at the moment.

Except, all the circus performancers were surprised to see there weren't any other people around.

"Hmm... this is a surprisingly empty kingdom." Carousella said.

"Don't worry," said Mila, getting down from Bonita. "Everyone just needs to get to know you is all."

Mila shouted out a big hello to the kingdom.

"Hola, everyone. I'm back! And I brought some new amigos."

"Mila! Mila, you're back!" Rosella exclaimed, running to her big sister.

Mila picked up her little sister in a big hug.

"I knew you could do it!" Pedro said, hugging Mila.

Mila put Rosella down so she could hold Pedro next.

"I missed you guys too." Mila said, giving the twins each a big kiss.

Of course, Mila's parents were ecstatic to run to her, Bruno lifting her in a spin.

"I was so worried about you!" Bruno said.

"We were worried you were never going to return." Alicia said, showering Mila with kisses.

"Papa, Mama. I'm fine."

Soon, other people started to come out to see the surprising sight of Mila succeeding at something. No one could believe their eyes at the sight of the large group of people and their valiant steeds.

"Mila's returned!" Dolores said, standing by Mirabel.

"She's back?!" Mirabel said, surprised but also excited that her cousin came back safely.

"And she's accompanied by a very strange group of people and creatures I've never seen."

"What?! How?" Mirabel said. "I mean, she wasn't actually supposed to find someone!

Mila started to introduce everyone to her new friends.

Mariposa spread out her beautiful wings, which startled people a little at first.

People, however, looked at some of the non-humans a little oddly.

"What are you guys?" Cecilia asked.

"I'm Ahsoka. This is my mother Shaak and my little brother Turha. We're togrutas." Ahsoka introduced.

"And I am her father Plo. I am a Kel-Dor."

The horses seemed very friendly to everyone too, and the circus performers' children felt full of disbelief actually seeing other kids up close.

Obi-Wan saw all the kids looking curiously at Peppermint and the other horses.

"Hello there." Obi-Wan said.

The kids were curious how different Obi-Wan's accent sounded too.

"You talk fancy." said one girl.

"Rita, be nice." said the girl's father.

Chika started sniffing around some of the strangers. Some of the kids also looked at Qui-Gon or tried climbing on him because he looked like a giant to them.

"Children, he's a little ticklish. Be careful." Shmi said.

Qui-Gon laughed as he was tickled, and he picked up one of the kids to get better acquainted with them.

"My, aren't you all adorable?" Qui-Gon chuckled. It was no surprise he had a tendency to be popular with little kids.

It was then that Queen Alma arrived.

"Milagro, you came through." said Alma.

"Abuela!" Mila said, happily hugging her grandmother. "Everyone, this is my abuela, Queen Alma."

Just then, a few of her friends froze.

"Wait. You're a princess?" Echo said.

"Um... yes." Mila blushed. Flaunting her title wasn't exactly her thing. "Oh, Mirabel!"

Mila brought her cousin to meet the new guys. So far, everyone seemed impressed by these helpers Mila brought back, who would hopefully help them out of this enormous mess.

"Everyone, this is my cousin, Mirabel. She's the one who sent me to find you."

"They're our ticket out of this mess," said Camilo.

Except, Mirabel was hesitant about this. This wasn't even supposed to happen.

"We don't fight puss moths." Mirabel pointed out.

"We don't, but they will." Isabela said.

"I think we're losing the job," said Padme.

"Looks like we gotta sweeten the deal." Anakin said. "Your Majesty, if my wife and I could say something."

Anakin climbed on Sapphire with Padme so they could speak.

"Ladies and gentlemen, as some of you know, I'm Anakin Skywalker, and this is my beautiful wife Padme. We've heard from your Princess Mila that you need people of real talent to solve a problem."

"Our group consists of many talents, all of which brought together guarantees a performance like nothing you've even imagined." Padme added. "Therefore, whatever the deed, we won't stop 'til the job is done!"

The people cheered at the little speech the couple gave. Everyone was so happy that they now had this group of fighters here to help them with their puss moth problems.

A party was set up to welcome the warriors to Encanto. There was a lot of colors, dancing, and music too.

Some of the citizens taught the warriors the way they danced here in Encanto. It was very lively and a lot of fun.

Tech saw Mila dancing with her little brother and thought about asking her to dance. Except, he found himself feeling unusually nervous, and it was not like stage fright nerves.

People were cheering as the dance finished, and then they were silent as Queen Alma had an announcement.

"As a special treat for the welcoming of our new friends," said Alma. "A special presentation from the children of our fair kingdom. A presentation directed by our own royal thespian, my grandson, Prince Camilo."

"Gracias, Abuelita." Camilo said. "Rosella, Pedro, Maria, Carlos."

Up came the four children, holding a big piece of rolled up paper.

"Aren't they just the sweetest things?" Shmi said, leaning into her husband.

"Such little angels." Padme smiled.

Pedro stepped up nervously to say his part.

"Oruguita Elementary's first grade class would like to present you with this."

The other kids unrolled the paper, and it showed a picture of the warriors all dressed in armor, riding on their horses and fighting the puss moths with Máriverdé in chains.

"A mural we drew of you friends helping to fight the puss moths away."

Except, Mariposa looked particularly terrified by this revelation.

"Oh, would you look at the beautiful colors of the... battle." Padme said, albeit nervously.

None of the performers could believe this! This was the job they were offered? Fighting puss moths? This was not what they were expecting.

"We drew you guys as knights in armor because our teacher said it was symbolic." Rosella said.

As everyone clapped, Camilo then walked up playing a little harp.

"And now to tell you a tale of heroes so bold, who helped vanquish the Puss Moths our enemies of old."

And so, a group of children came up, all in costume.

One child, dressed as a big leaf, dropped to the ground.

"Look, the last leaf has fallen," said a little girl.

And then came a bunch of other kids with fake butterfly wings and masks.

"We are the Puss Moths! Where's our food?!" said the pretend puss moths.

"Who will come to save us poor humans?" said a young boy, who didn't seem happy to be there.

And then came another group of kids dressed like knights, wizards, and superheroes.

"We are the warriors, here to defend you!"

The performance went on with a battle that had the performers feeling a bit nervous. Escaping the circus was one thing... but fighting an entire army... that was something they weren't prepared for.

"What do we do?!" Carmine whisper-yelled to his parents. "We didn't sign up for this!"

"We can't do this!" Comedia said. "We can't fight puss moths!"

"But if we don't, they'll probably kick us out of here!" Ahsoka said.

"It wouldn't be wise to lie." Plo said.

"But we can't go back into the streets!" Myra said.

"Maybe if we just explain the misunderstanding, they'll let us stay." Gabby said.

Queen Alma then told Mirabel,

"Alright, Mijita. You're up."

Mirabel nervously stood up.

"Um... we're all very grateful to have..."

Mirabel seemed awfully quiet though. But, Mila had a little invention for that she gave Mirabel that made her voice louder. A megaphone.

"The warriors." Mirabel looked at Mila, who gave a thumbs up. "Gracias, Mila."

Mirabel then continued.

"First of all, I would like to thank the warriors for coming to aid in our fight against the Puss Moths." People cheered once again. "Secondly, I'd like to thank my cousin Mila for her quick thinking and bringing these people to us."

Mirabel handed the mic to her cousin.

"Thank you, Prima. I can't take all the credit for this. These new friends showed me themselves great things they can do, and as my family is learning to have faith in me, I have faith in our new friends here."

The performers debated on what to do, and they voted on who should tell Mila.

"Alright, fine! I'll do it." Obi-Wan said.

Obi-Wan approached Mila and whispered something in her ear.

Mila put her hand over the megaphone.

"No, there's no circus here." Mila whispered back. Then she was about to go back to her speech, when she looked at some of her friend and saw Crosshair juggling and Gabby doing an arabesque on Comedia's back like they were in the circus.

That was when it clicked in Mila's head. This wasn't good.

"Uh... if you'll excuse me." Mila said, giving the megaphone back to her cousin. "My friends have a bit of a situation to tend to. Thank you, Mirabel."

"Shouldn't I come too?" Mirabel said.

"No! This is... classified. Sorry the warriors have to cut the party short, but this is an emergency."

Mila guided the others to a place she believed would be a good location to talk. Some part of the Encanto most people were told to avoid at all costs for reasons no one was sure about because no one who'd gone that way came back alive.

Except, Rosella and Pedro were curious about this and decided to follow their sister wherever she was going.

"Okay, everyone. This way."

Mila found a spot in the forest where she could talk openly to her friends, and then...

"Circus folk?! How can you be circus folk?" Mila said.

"You didn't say anything about killing puss moths," said Obi-Wan. "You lied to us."

"What?! You guys never said you were circus people. Why would you even come if you didn't know the job?"

"The grownups thought you were a talent scout." Gabby said.

"Well who looks foolish now? I never said I was a talent scout." Mila said.

"You never said you were a princess either." Hunter said.

"That's different. I couldn't say I was a princess for safety reasons. The way you presented yourselves as protectors, that's false advertising."

"Excuse me?!" Anakin said. "We never said we were fighters."

"Then why don't you just go back to the circus?"

"Because we didn't even want to be in the circus to begin with!" Myra said. "We were literally forced into it!"

Suddenly, Mila's demeanor changed.

"Forced? What do you mean you were forced?"

Everyone suddenly started looking at each other. Initially, they wouldn't expect Mila to understand. Being a princess with people serving her all the time, they thought she wouldn't know what it felt like to be forced into a role with no say whatsoever. But, Mila made it clear she was not like the princesses they were used to seeing.

"I think we should tell her." Emeraldi said.

Qui-Gon told Mila that it was true they were from the circus, but recently they escaped from the circus. He'd been there the longest of the people in this group, and he remembered all too well how horrible it was.

A long time ago, Qui-Gon was once a free man. He came from a rich family, and he was very happy and blessed with all he had. He had a lovely home, a loving family, and everything he could ever want... until one day some thugs broke into his home, killed his parents, and kidnapped him.

Qui-Gon tried to get out, but the thugs put a cloth bag over his head and then put something around his neck that turned out to be a shock collar that he couldn't take off no matter how much he struggled. And he quickly discovered he wasn't the first or only victim in the trailer he was thrown into.

To stay off the trail of the authorities, the kidnapped boy was fitted with a shock collar and forced to become a performer. Eventually, Qui-Gon met another kidnapped victim with whom he fell in love and took as a wife. But eventually, when he had children, the babies were forced to become performers too once they were old enough.

The way this circus worked, they kidnapped people, sometimes using a friend or loved one as a hostage, and then they were forced to become performers, and witnesses were kidnapped too. Over the years, Qui-Gon watched as several other performers, including his first wife, were killed if they tried to escape or they rebelled. And the Fetts' parents were two of them.

All of their friends had their own stories for how they ended up there too.

Garrett, for example, he was a professor at a magic school. One day, he and Mariposa were just on a walk, when men in masks jumped them and forced them into a trailer.

Mace Windu used to be a cop, and Brenda was a successful businesswoman. What started out as a pursuit of some really bad guys turned out to be a trap not just for him, but for his wife and children too.

Ki-Adi Mundi once had a family of his own. The circus tried to kidnap his children, but he fought as many as he could. It wasn't enough though. Then a fire broke out, and he was the only survivor.

But a couple members weren't just forced into the circus by kidnapping. Comedia and Emeraldi were both sold to the circus by their own parents. Initially, just Comedia, and for a while, Ki-Adi took care of her like his own child, and eventually Emeraldi came and attempted to rescue her sister, only to get roped into the circus herself.

Nearly all the horses had been stolen from their families. But younger members, namely Anakin, Carmine, the Fett twins, and the little kids, they were all born into the circus, and trained for various acts once they turned four years old.

Unlike other children, the ones in the circus weren't allowed to play outside, go to school, or interact with children of the outside world, or go anywhere.

It wasn't until they finally found a weakness in the shock collars and planned a dangerous diversion that they finally escaped, but now they were homeless and desperate to find work, but not so much so they would put their lives at risk.

"I...I'm so sorry." Mila said. "I had no idea you'd gone through all that."

"Well, you didn't exactly ask." Mace said.

"Nevertheless, I really need your help." Mila begged. "I messed up big time. It's my fault my family is in this mess."

"Just go tell them the truth." Gabby said.

"I can't do that! I'd never live it down! My future children and then their children will be shamed if this gets out. My family was counting on me to find help. Isn't there any way I can convince you to stay?"

"We cannot stay and fight." Ki-Adi said. "We have children of our own to protect."

"But where will you go?" Mila asked. "Huh? It's a cruel world out there. I spent many days out there, and people are cruel when they even assume you have no money, no nothing to give. If you stay, I can at least try to get my grandmother to let you live here. Would that convince you?"

"Mila?" called a voice. "Mila, I think I should be part of this meeting."

Mila went to see the source of the voice.

"Don't go anywhere. I mean it!" Mila said. "Don't leave this spot."

So, Mila met Mirabel, who didn't look too happy.

"Mila, I'd like to speak with these 'warriors' right now."

"You can't!" Mila said. "This is classified, and they really need not be disturbed. Right guys?"

Mila looked behind her, only to see she couldn't see her friends anymore.

"Oh no, tell me they didn't-!" Mila gasped and then ran. "Wait! Don't go there!"

Mirabel was confused though.

"I'm not going anywhere." Mirabel said. And then she looked in the direction Mila was going. "Dios mio!"

Rosella and Pedro followed another path and climbed up a few trees, where a bunch of balloons were tied up for the party. They looked around and saw the warriors looking like they were leaving, and Mila was chasing after them

"Please don't go!" Mila said, using her telepathy to jump on Banjo. "I'm desperate!"

"Really? I couldn't tell." Echo said sarcastically.

"Well, you can't go this way! It's too dangerous!"

Meanwhile, the little twins were suspicious.

Rosella tried to make her wings work, but she only succeeded in knocking her brother down, Pedro grabbing a bunch of balloons, and being carried away by the wind.

Pedro screamed as he found himself being carried high up into the air.

"HELP!"

That was when Rosella quickly ran to get help.

The circus folk were still leaving, but Mila wouldn't get off Banjo.

"Alright, Mila. I gotta drop ya off now." Banjo said, landing, but Mila hugged him as Echo tried to get her off.

"No, please! You can't go!" Mila begged.

Except... after they landed, Mila looked up and saw something odd. A giant red feather, and a giant bird's nest?

Wait a second, Mila thought. She'd seen this in a Greek mythology book before. This was a dangerous creature she thought didn't exist, but it appeared this was the reason the path was so dangerous and why no one who took it came back.

Mila shrieked and ran for her life.

"RUN!" Mila screamed and started to fly.

"Wow, she's fast!" Wrecker said.

"What do you think spooked her so much?" Ahsoka said.

Garrett took a look at the nest then. "Uh oh! I think I know."

And then the ground shook, everyone freezing. Then they all turned around every slowly to see, right behind them... a giant red bird of prey! A creature called a Roc, an enormous bird of prey that could eat an elephant!

"Giant hawk!" Goldie exclaimed.

"It's a roc!" Garrett shouted. "RUN!"

Everyone quickly took off in a panic, grabbing the children first to get them to safety.

Mirabel, meanwhile, went to see her grandmother, who was speaking Camilo, Alicia, and Julieta.

"Abuela, Mila is up to something."

Mirabel guided them to the path where she'd seen Mila go.

"Espera..." Julieta said. "They went down the Path de Muerto?"

"Oh no..." Mirabel said, rushing that way. "MILA?!"

Mirabel reached the end of the path and looked around, so did the others. Fortunately, they saw Mila and the others, but they all looked like something was chasing them.

"There they are!" Mirabel said, and then she gasped when she saw a giant red hawk swooping at them. "A roc!"

"Ayudame!" a little voice screamed.

Mirabel looked up and was shocked by what she saw. "Mira!"

"Pedro!" Alicia and Alma both exclaimed.

Pedro was still flying by the balloons carrying him in the air. With how little practice he had using his wings, he was too scared to let go and try to fly back, but he saw his big sister down below and tried calling her for help, but he heard the sound of a loud screeching. And when he looked up, he saw a gigantic bird heading right for him!

It was either be bird food or have a big fall, and Pedro quickly chose to let go!

Pedro screamed as he fell down, down, down. He tried to use his wings, but he was falling too fast.

"Pedro!"

"My baby!" Alicia cried.

But, luckily for the young prince, one of the group saw him. Emeraldi spotted Pedro and quickly began flying as fast as she could to get underneath him and catch him

"Hang on, little one!" Emeraldi shouted. "I got you!"

And quickly, Emeraldi swooped in and grabbed Pedro with her mouth and landed on a ledge of a nearby canyon.

Emeraldi gently placed Pedro safely on the ground.

"You okay, little guy?" Emeraldi asked.

"Mmm-hmm." Pedro nodded, and then he screamed again as rocks began to fall down, Emeraldi quickly pushing him out of the way.

Only, not all the rocks missed the green pegasus.

"My wing!" Emeraldi cried.

This wasn't good. With an injured wing, Emeraldi couldn't fly. And the roc was right above her and Pedro, so they couldn't climb out the way they came in. To make matters worse, the roc started pecking down in the canyon, trying to eat them!

Quickly, Emeraldi got herself and Pedro underneath a spot the roc couldn't reach them.

Meanwhile, the rest of the performers and Mila managed to make it to a safe place behind a bunch of big rocks. Except, Comedia was quick to notice her sister was missing, when everyone suddenly heard someone calling Mila's name.

"Pedro?!" Mila gasped.

"Good heavens, they're in trouble!" Obi-Wan said.

"What do we do now?" Omega asked.

But Mila calculated a plan in her head, and she had an idea to rescue Emeraldi and Pedro, and get them to safety.

While the plan was being concocted and executed, Mirabel grabbed Mila's Multi-Scope invention to get a better view of the situation. Everyone else was too scared to go in and try to help.

The roc kept pecking and pecking at Emeraldi and Pedro, and it seemed there was no escape for either of them... until someone threw a pie at the roc's head.

Comedia stuck out her tongue and taunted the big bird with funny faces.

"Hey, big bird!" Comedia taunted, shaking her tail at the bird. "You can't get me! You can't get me!"

The roc tried to nip Comedia, but she wasn't alone. Banjo and many of the other flying horses came and provided a distraction, while those without wings worked ground control to make sure everyone got out of there safely.

Shmi and Padme took care of getting the children to safety. Crosshair used a stunt blaster to temporarily incapacitate the giant bird, though that had little effect.

Anakin started growing huge plants and vines that wrapped around the bird when it was farther away from the trapped victims, while a smaller group took care of the rescuing part.

While everyone else was distracting the bird, Mila, Obi-Wan, Brenda, Tech, and Hunter took Sapphire, Crescent, Carousella, and Strawberry Sundae and flew over to the canyon where they heard Pedro coming from.

Mila looked around until she saw her brother.

"There they are!" she exclaimed.

"Mila! Help!" Pedro called.

The pegasi all landed with their riders and brought out a stretcher they made to carry the injured Emeraldi out of there.

"Mila!" Pedro cried, running into his sister's arms.

"It's going to be okay, Pedro." Mila soothed her baby brother, hugging him with relief.

The rescue team immediately started getting Pedro and Emeraldi to safety, while the others kept on distracting the roc. Anakin made even more vines and such, while everyone with telepathy worked together to hold the bird in place long enough for Anakin to wrap the bird in lots of enormous vines.

As soon as the bird was wrapped up, everyone started to run back. Except, that roc was even stronger than they thought, and it started to quickly break out of the vines. So, everyone had to move fast.

However, as the group was running, they came across a wooden bridge, on which Maybelle ran with Crosshair on her back, but one of the boards broke! Maybelle quickly stopped as she got her hoof stuck.

"Oh no!" Maybelle gasped. "I'm stuck! Crosshair, help!"

Crosshair quickly got off and tried to help Maybelle get unstuck, but her hoof was really stuck in there. Pinto and Wrecker quickly stopped and came to help. Pinto tried to get his sister unstuck, but got himself stuck in another hold and started to slip over the edge. And as Wrecker was starting to pull him up, the roc broke free of the vines and was closing in on them!

Padme and Shmi managed to get the children back to Encanto to be safe, and many of their friends made it back too, including Mila and Pedro.

"Mami!" Pedro cried, seeing his mom.

"Oh, Pedro. Mi bebe." Alicia cried with relief. She held her son dearly.

Except, some of the rescuers were quick to notice that not all of them made it back.

"Wait! Where are Wrecker, Crosshair, Pinto, and Maybelle?" Echo pointed out.

"Uh oh!" Anakin said.

The two humans and their horses were all screaming as the roc got even closer and was just about ready to have them for a snack. Crosshair and Wrecker hugged each other in terror.

But just before the roc could bite them, something big and blue flashed at the roc. It was Mariposa!

With the roc distracted, Wrecker and Crosshair managed to get their horses free and get the heck out of there! Mariposa took off too once she saw the others made it back the way they came. And she wasn't alone.

Anakin came along and made a bunch of briars to scare it off, while Carmine came in, took a big breath, and vocalized a fortissimo song that irritated the bird, and that, along with the cacti Anakin grew, the roc eventually flew away.

"Bye bye, birdie!" Carmine sang.

"And don't come back!" Anakin shouted.

None of the performers could believe it, but word of their rescue spread across the whole kingdom like wildfire! Everyone applauded them as the queen called them up to thank and congratulate them all for their bravery and rescuing Pedro.

Alma was so grateful to the warriors for rescuing her grandson, she promised them a great reward. And Mila gave her a good idea of what to reward them with.

When Mila told her grandmother that their new friends were in fact homeless, the queen couldn't believe it.

"How is it possible?" Alma said.

"It's a cruel world out there." Mila said. "This isn't the first time these brave warriors have fought for dear life. I've seen what they can do, and they somehow managed to survive out there. We were given a safe haven when we needed it. Who's to say we shouldn't do the same for someone else in need?"

Of course, Julieta didn't neglect to make an arepa con queso for Emeraldi to eat and heal her wing. Emeraldi felt so much better. Plus, a taste of Julieta's cooking was no doubt a great reward for saving a little boy. At least, it was for her. When you've spent the last fifteen years eating bland rations, hay, and peanuts, trying new food was more than welcome.

And so, Queen Alma declared they would build their new friends a home of their own right here in Encanto. Until they were complete, they were welcome to stay in the palace, seeing as they had lots of space.

"Slumber party!" Lamenta exclaimed.

The kids had heard about slumber parties before, having overheard people talking about them, but they'd never actually been to one.

"You've never been to a real slumber party before?" Isabela said.

"No, but we've always wanted to." Myra said.

"Well, ladies. Get your pajamas ready, because tonight we'll pajama party 'til we drop."
