Abandoned Parking Lot near Gran's Apartment
It had been nearly three days since Izuku began his internship and Rayleigh has said the training will be tough. Currently, he was panting as tried to catch his breath from the rigorous exercises both his teachers are putting him through. Neither senior citizen was joking when they said that their training was tough. "... How... am ... I still alive?!" around Izuku were old banged up cars, long since abandoned.
"No pain, no gain, Brat," answered Gran, munching on a taiyaki cake with Rayleigh leaning back on the wall. "You can't always rely on logic and prediction - it makes you easy to read. You need to be creative, think outside the box."
Without warning, Rayleigh chucked his taiyaki at Izuku. The flying sweet zoomed towards him as the green-haired boy barely dodged it at the last second without looking. "Wha-" as Izuku was interrupted by more what appeared to be wrenches being thrown at him. He weaved left and right as each wrench thrown nearly nicked him. After the metal barrage was over, he took a sigh of relief.
Splat!
Only to be nailed in the face by taiyaki. Red bean paste dripped down from his forehead as Gran was laughing his head off while Rayleigh smirked. "Well, your awareness has approved and possibly your Observation Haki might awaken sooner if you are in a life or death situation." commented Rayleigh.
"I'm looking forward to it, Silver-Sensei." replied Izuku, dryly, while wiping the remains of taiyaki off his face.
"Atta boy," Rayleigh walked off before glancing at his best friend. "Sora, I have an errand I want to take care of. Give Freckles a breather and see what he can do with that rubber body of his."
"You take care, Rayleigh." Gran waved goodbye. When the retired vigilante left Gran held his full attention to his temporary ward. "Alright kid, listen up, after your break we're going to see how sharp you are with your Devil Fruit. So far, Rayleigh has mentioned that Devil Fruits don't get powerful over time but how creative you can get with it."
"How creative?" asked Izuku, innocently.
Gran smacked him upside the head with his cane. "Creative enough to think of fighting outside the box and on your feet."
"Got it," Izuku wonders where he can start muttering to himself. "Would that mean I have immunity to bludgeoning and taking damage from a fall from a high height? What are my limits to how far I can stretch? Are my organs now rubber like too?"
"Kid..."
Izuku still muttered to himself not paying attention.
"Kid!" Torino yelled, breaking Izuku out of his mutterings. "You're freaking me out with your muttering. Just try something already."
Without a moment of hesitation, Izuku began to twist his torso clockwise as Gran took a few steps back. After 10 seconds of twisting, the entire torso was coiled up, then the lower half spun like a tornado. The released tension caused Izuku to fly high into the air.
Gran was trying to find his young charge until he heard the sound of screaming and a loud crash. "Ah, there he is." Turning around he found Izuku in a small crater about 20 feet away from where he took off from. The ninth holder slowly stood up and wobbled in place with swirls in his eyes.
Twilight's Agency
Tenya was sitting on the couch with a cup of jasmine tea in hand, taking a sip from his cup while looking over some files Twilight had given him to review. "Hello, Tenya." Turning around, Tenya saw Twilight walking in with a cup. "I wanted to know how your situation is regarding Tensei?"
Shifting in his seat, Tenya put down the cup of tea and files before taking a deep breath. "It's a difficult change." The teen admitted. "I was thinking back to what Silver-Sensei had said back at School. I honestly don't know if I can fill in for my brother."
"No one is asking you to do that." replied Twilight. "In fact, I brought someone to help give you some closure."
Tenya heard what sounded like wheels scraping the door and his eyes were wide open. Right before him was his older brother, Tensei. "Hey, little brother."
Without a moment of hesitation, Iida stood up and ran to his brother before embracing him crying his heart out. "Nii-san, I was such an idiot!" Tensei kept rubbing his younger brothers back to help calm him down.
"Listen, listen. What you planned was stupid. But I'm glad Rayleigh was able to prevent you from falling through." Tensei replied.
Iida looked at his brother with tears in his eyes. "But how can I even call myself a hero? I can't even look at my friends or you without feeling so idiotic…"
"You can't expect yourself to be perfect within Year One." Tensei kept his smile, trying to comfort his brother. "You weren't the first intern to have wanted revenge on a Villian for hurting a sibling."
Tenya wiped away his tears but his eyes were red and puffy from crying. "I had an intern who wanted to hunt down and kill a Villian for nearly killing their younger brother. He was young and brash. Before he could go any further, I stopped them from delivering the final blow."
"What...?" Tenya couldn't have ever thought someone would even attempt a similar plot to what he planned to do during the internship. "This intern, where are they now?"
"You're working for him, right Shinji?"
Tenya whipped his head around and stared wide eyed at his mentor. Twilight sheepishly scratched his head. "I will admit it was not my finest moment." He then straightened himself up. "My younger brother meant the world to me. Him getting hurt by a Villain nearly pushed me over the edge. If it weren't for your brother, I wouldn't be where I am."
It then finally clicked with Tenya why Rayleigh sent him to Twilight specifically, rather than any other Pro Hero. Twilight knew the same kind of pain he did.
"Tenya, everyone will make mistakes in their first year of anything. What I want you to do is to be a hero that defines you." stated Tensei putting his hand on his younger brother's shoulder. "Rayleigh-sensei, Tensei-nii, Twilight-san…thank you."
Mt. Lady's Apartment
It has been three days and Mineta already regrets picking to intern under Mt. Lady. Currently he was cleaning up her kitchen, some horrors too unspeakable to mention he found during the clean up. "Stupid, I should have picked a different hot Hero…"
"Keep it up, Mineta, you're doing good." called a bored Mt. Lady. Currently, she was lounging on her couch eating chips while wearing her full Hero Suit. 'Man, this sucks. Not only do I have to watch the runt, I have nothing to really work with.' the blonde heroine thought to herself. 'Unless I can get some giant monster attacking the city, I'm just going to be sitting on my ass and doing endorsement deals to pay the bills. Oh well, so far the hero gig has been pretty easy.'
During her musing, Yuu's cell phone went off. Clicking her young in annoyance, she accepted the call. "Mt. Lady, what do you want?"
"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?" boomed the voice on the phone. It was loud enough to make Yuu recoil from the volume alone while Mineta jumped in fright before toppling over the cleaning supplies he was using to clean the kitchen.
The giantess hero scrambled for the phone before straightening up in fright. "Endeavor, sir. How can I he-"
"I need you to come over to Hosu for the manhunt of Hero Killer Stain, now!" roared the flaming hero over the phone.
"Wait, now? Now! Oh crap now!" Scrambling to her feet, she looked at her Mineta. "Come on, we're going on patrol, ASAP!"
Standing up quickly, the short intern collected himself. "Moving out, Mt. Lady!" giving his best grin. Inside however, he was quaking. 'Damn it, out of the frying pan and into the fire.'
Endeavor's Agency
Endeavor having just hung up from his call with Yuu, he leaned back in his office chair and messaged his head from the heroine's lack of professionalism. "How did she ever get a Hero's license is beyond me…"
"How so?" asked one of his Sidekicks, Burnin. Burnin was a young woman with a generous figure but her most prominent feature was that her hair was made out of fire and was green. "All she needs is some spunk and Mt. Lady can kick some major ass."
Endeavor glared at his sidekick, causing her to slightly shrink. "I don't think she needs spunk, she has it in abundance. What she lacks is discipline. Now, we wait for Frostburn."
The door opened as Shoto stood in front of his father. "Apologies, I had just finished a report you gave me twenty minutes ago."
"Good, now we head out to Hosu to conduct the hunt for Stain." stated Endeavor, sitting up from behind his desk.
"How many Heroes will be hunting for Stain?" asked Burnin, stretching her arms.
"We have 30 known heroes in my search, including myself and retired Pro Hero Gran Torino." Endeavor then looked at his son. "Frostburn, you will be with me and if we do find Stain, you better use your fire. Am I clear?"
Shoto glared at his father. "Yes - but remember, I'm using it for the sake of others. Not yours."
Enji wanted to say something but took a deep breath and muttered "Fine. Your classmate and that old coot at least managed to convince you to let go of your childish grudge." Without muttering another word, the trio left the office and were heading straight to their destination.
Hosu, nighttime
The city of Hosu bustles with life. Citizens were walking enjoying the little things in life, cars and buses were held up by traffic clogging up the streets, and street performers were entertaining passersby. However, this peace will not last for long tonight. Up on the roof, Shigaraki looked down below glaring at the people on the street and scratched his neck in agitation. "Look at these sheep... they're so convinced they're safe. It will be funny to see that safety net tear apart at the whims."
"Hoooo, are you done with the clichéd Villain monologue?" asked the high pitched voice of Shiro. Right behind Shigaraki was Hikaru, with the pigeon sitting on his owner's shoulder, and Kurogiri. The former kept a stoic expression while the latter had put the closest thing he could call a head buried in his hands.
"Oh screw you bird!" The 'leader' of the LoV quickly took a deep breath and regained his composure. "You bring me Stain's head, and you will be part of the League of Villains. Think of this as your intention."
"Consider it done, hooo."
Before Shigaraki could blink, Hikaru and Shiro were gone."Did he just?!" Shaking his head, Shigaraki looked at Kurogiri. "Kurogiri, let's unleash the Nomus now."
"As you wish, Tomura." bowed the living portal.
Hosu, elsewhere
Rayleigh was jumping from rooftop to rooftop, using the darkness to cover his presence and to keep out of sight. "Damn it, Chizome, where the hell are you?" The retired vigilante muttered to himself, surveying the area around him. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and began to focus. Rayleigh could see the different 'auras' that surrounded him. A boyfriend getting ready to propose to his girlfriend on the street, a mother caring for her child in the building below him, he could sense almost everyone's 'aura' around him.
Soon, he honed in on two figures one was clearly alive and standing while the other was stiff. However, the 'aura' of the standing figure had a strong killing intent that felt familiar to him. 'Chizome!' Snapping his eyes open, Rayleigh made a beeline to the Hero Killers location. He was sure that Chizome was hunting.
Rayleigh vaulted onto a rooftop and saw a very tense scene down below. Standing tall was a muscular man with a somewhat triangular face and long black hair. The man wore a dark, sleeveless combat suit covered with metal armor, spiked combat boots, a long tattered red scarf, and a red cloth around his face acting as a mask. There is no question, this was definitely Chizome Akaguro, better known as Hero Killer Stain.
Currently, Stain had a pro-hero in his grasp that was dressed as a Native American. With a bloody knife in hand, it Was clear what he wanted.
"There you are..." muttered Rayleigh. He jumped over the side of the building but not before he unsheathed and threw his sword straight down at Stain. The Hero Killer threw the pro hero he was about to kill to the side and dodged the thrown weapon as it embedded itself into the ground. The old vigilante slid down the wall before leaping off it to land near his sword.
Stain's eyes were wide as Rayleigh stood up to face him. "Old man?"
"Hello, Chizome." Rayleigh's eyes narrowed as he glared at the Hero Killer. "We need to talk."
Stain glared back at the old vigilante. "Why are you stopping me from completing my mission, Old man!?"
"To fix one of my mistakes."
