"Adrien, you coming?" Marinette and Felix had picked up Adrien and Kagami from fencing class. Marinette noticed that Adrien had seemed distant and tired. "You'll feel better once you get a snack," she told him, holding one hand while the other held the umbrella.
Adrien knew the place would loud and noisy, and right now he wanted to be alone. "I'll meet you there in awhile, Bluebell," he said, quietly, replacing a wet lock of hair behind Marinette's ear. "Have fun."
Adrien's shoved his hands in his pockets, sighing. He should have thought to bring a umbrella, but here he was, now soaking wet. He ducked into a abandoned alleyway and sat down.
He knew he should hang out with his friends, but he didn't want to burden them with the problems at home.
Adrien grew drowsy, listening to the soft plopping of water and watched as the rain moved down the gutter. He must of dozed off, because when he woke up, the rain had stopped and a small black and white cat was nudging him.
"Hello," Adrien smiled a real smile, stroking the cat gently. "Are you hiding too?" Adrien straightened so the cat could climb into his lap and it did with a happy meow. Now feeling warm and safe, the cat fell asleep.
Adrien smiled, no longer feeling abandoned or alone. He let the cat sleep a little longer, then stood up. "Thank you. When I come back, Cat Noir will bring some treats for you."
The cat purred, weaving between his legs. Adrien laughed, then set off to find his friend, no longer feeling alone or abandoned, thanks to the little kitty's love.
