I'm Not Ladybug
Chapter 14
You're Not Alone
Marinette watched him closely as he spoke. Seemingly looking for any signs of deceit. Like she didn't truly believe that he wasn't going to leave her. "I don't want to take you down with me Adrien." She spoke softly. He gently ran his finger over her cheek.
"You're not going to take me down, but I am going to help you. I promise you Marinette I'm not going anywhere." Adrien spoke with such a firm tone that she almost believed him. She would have fully believed him if it weren't for the voices in the back of her head telling her that he was going to bolt the second he could.
"Ok." She tried to keep the uncertainty out of her voice as she spoke. She could tell she didn't fully believe her, but he didn't push her further. They both looked up, seeming the Tiki fly in.
"Marinette! You're awake!" Tikki ran into her chest holding onto her. Marinette gently hugged the Kwami back.
"Hi Tikki. I'm ok." She spoke softly, clearly tired. Tikki watched her with worried eyes.
"Do you actually? Are you still hurting?" Marinette shrugged, wincing.
"I'm just sore, I promise. Nothing's broken. I'm not going to die." Tikki watched her closely. She didn't miss the fact that Marinette seemed slightly disappointed that she wasn't dead. Tikki's eyes hardened as she realized this, but she didn't comment on it. Plagg flew in after Tiki watching the moment quietly. Marinette saw him though and smiled gently.
"Hey Plagg."
"Hey Princess." Marinette smiled softly at the nickname.
"Thanks for taking care of Tiki when I stressed her out." Plagg shrugged, flying closer.
"I'll always help Tiki out, that goes for you too." Marinette nodded at his words, a silent thanks.
Tiki was still watching Marinette worriedly. "Are you sure you're not injured? I'm just worried, Marinette, you've never taken a hit like that during a fight. Adrien couldn't wake you up." Marinette shook her head tiredly.
"I'm fine, I promise. I'm safe, Adrien is safe, and you guys are safe. It's a win for team Ladybug and Chat Noir." Plagg seemed to be the only one buying it. Adrien and Tikki were still watching her worriedly. "What?" She asked, watching the two. Tiki looked at Adrien for help.
"We think you should see Master Fu. He can at least make sure you're somewhat ok medically. We can't take you to a hospital. There isn't any excuse for your injuries unless your Ladybug. The building our fight took place in was empty so we can't say you were just a civilian. There would be too many questions." Marinette sighed.
"Can we do that tomorrow? I'm tired, I just want to sleep tonight. It's late already." Adrien looked like he wanted to argue, but Plagg spoke up.
"Yeah we can do that Princess. We'll go see him tomorrow." Adrien and Tiki both looked at him confused. What was he thinking? Plagg gave them a look saying he would explain later. Marinette was too tired to notice these looks and instead nodded laying down.
"Thanks Plagg." She was asleep in minutes. Adrien and Tiki followed Plagg out onto the balcony.
"Plagg, what are you thinking? Marinette needs medical attention." Adrien spoke frustrated. Plagg held his hands up to calm Adrien down.
"I know, but look. She's had a long day. She's been beaten up more than ever before and she's had to have a lot of deep talks tonight. She will be ok until morning. Her mental health is just as important as her physical health. Just give her the night." Adrien and Tiki were honestly so surprised to see Plagg seriously that they agreed. If he was willing to drop the normal funny guy act then they should listen.
The three quietly made their way down the stairs and back into the room with Marinette. Each person took a position in the room to stay and watch Marinette. Adrien laid down on the bed with Marinette pulling her close, while Tiki and Plagg slept together on a chair. In that room Marinette had people who cared about her and they would show her that.
