Hey, guys. It's Dusk19.

Well, I'm back with this fanfic, but not in a good way. I mean, since there's little to no one who could help write with me anymore, this is the best I could do. I'm really not a very good fanfic writer on my own. I'm good at coming up with ideas or plot ideas though, but not good at making it into a fanfic. At least not by myself. I'm not even good at dialogue or keeping characters in-characters. So I'm sorry everyone, but this is the best I could do. A summary is the best I could offer. I can assure you guys though that it'll get better in Chapter 5, though. I've seen the movie and Chapter 5 will be where things will get better. For now though, hope you guys understand...

Enjoy the chapter I guess...

-Dusk19

Later at evening, Basil and Olivia took a break from packing at their house so they could go out to eat for dinner. They did so as they entered Olivia's car and she drove them to Yummi's Chinese Kitchen like she had said she would earlier. Yummi's Chinese Kitchen was always Basil and Olivia's most favorite Chinese restaurant in Chesterton, Indiana and they do occasionally eat there whenever they could afford it. This time though, it was to try and help cheer up Basil and move on from the death of his late father Gordon.

So Olivia and Basil came inside the restaurant and up to the front counter ran by a female Asian worker (Wong), from whom they reserved a table. After Olivia and Basil were both seated at a table, another female Asian but as a waitress (Wang) came and took their drink and food orders. As Wang takes her leave and while they wait for their food and beverage, Olivia decides to ask Basil how he's holding up. Unfortunately though, he says not so good as he talks more about how he feels about his father's demise.

Wang overheard this and, in the "employees only" room, tells her sister Wong and their father Mr. W, who is the owner and manager (however that works) of Yummi's Chinese Kitchen. Mr. W suggests they help Basil with another one of their "particular" fortune cookies, but Wang thinks it's crazy and disapproves of it especially since this would be the 4th time and 4th person they use this method on. Mr. W says that it may be the only way to help and Wong convinces Wang to trust their father. With that, Wang sighs in defeat and accepts their idea.

A little later, Basil and Olivia are served their beverages and then their entrees with sides. After they ate their dinner, Olivia offers Basil to order a dessert for them but before he could answer, Wang comes back and gives them fortune cookies. To answer his mother's question from earlier, Basil says he's okay with fortune cookies for dessert but unbeknownst to him, his is actually magic. After Olivia opens and reads hers which is only a normal fortune with words of wisdom, Basil opened and read his, and it surprisingly said this:

"A journey soon begins, a prize reflected in another's eyes. What you see is what you lack, then selfless love can change you back."

Basil was confused by that, but he and Olivia brushed it off since, to them, fortunes are just slips of paper with words anyways. Wong then whispers something into Basil's ear while Wang whisper something into Olivia's ear too (which both foreshadow Basil turning into him into opossum). So with that, Olivia paid for their dinner as well as left a check for Wang before she and Basil head home. On the way though, strangely, Basil began feeling dizziness in his head. Olivia notices this and asks Basil if he's okay, and he says he's fine and assumes it's just a little headache.

The next day came, being a Sunday afternoon where it was dawn. Basil and Olivia had come back from church earlier since it's where they usually go on Sundays in church clothing. During the church service earlier though, Basil had felt some more dizziness but he didn't say anything about it since it was their time of worship. At home, on the other hand, they were almost finished packing everything from the house. After the finishing touches, all Olivia would need to do next was rent a moving truck from U-Haul so they'd help carry and take all her and Basil's boxes of household stuff and belongings to their new home as well as their furniture. That would have to wait until tomorrow morning though since it was a little late.

Until then though, in the meantime, Basil and Olivia were taking another needed break from packing what's left of their soon-to-be-former house. Basil was lounging on the living room couch, playing Super Mario 64 DS on his Nintendo DS. He was wearing his headphones too and had them plugged into the handheld system so it wouldn't make a lot of noise in the house. Playing his DS was the only thing Basil could do anyways while on break since the living room TV was unplugged and packed.

It was though until Olivia came and asked Basil to take out the garbage, which was full and in the kitchen. Basil obliged as he paused his Nintendo DS and unplugged the headphones from it before putting the double-screened system in his pocket. That was when he into the kitchen and pulled the filled-up trash bag out of the trashcan before carrying it outside to the front yard. It was where their green outdoor garbage can was already put so that the garbage truck would come to empty it on Monday mornings, which was the next day. Thankfully too since it wasn't too dark yet, it seemed safe for Basil to come outside and take out the trash.

Basil approached the outdoor garbage can before opening it, then he lifted it and dropped the full garbage bag inside before closing the garbage can. His chore was done but before he could head back inside the house, he felt dizziness once again and it got worse. He didn't know why this had been happening since the other day after they came from Yummi's Chinese Kitchen, and he figured it could perhaps be the food though it usually wouldn't do that to him or Olivia. It went on until Basil lost his balance and collapsed on the ground, losing consciousness and blacking out.
