Jasper
The woman's anger grew so much the air around us grew heavy.
"Let me go, Jasper. Please." I did as she asked.
A green wave exploded from her body. Gone were her jeans and shirt. Instead she was wearing an emerald green and gold dress with armor. She started walking towards Alice.
"You abused the abilities that you were given and now as a punishment for your misdeeds I shall take that and it shall be mine." A green glow surrounded Alice's body.
Alice began to scream as a mist began to leave her body and form a purple orb in the woman's hand. I walked up to the woman and placed my hand on her shoulder. She looked back at me and I could tell she felt guilty.
"I'm sorry that I am doing this, Jasper. It hurts her, but this is for everyone's best interest and safety. She abused her magical abilities and for that has to face the consequences. The temporary removal of her gift is the only appropriate punishment. Where it is the Volturi's job to handle most vampires it is the Emerald Enclaves job to handle misuse of magic." She turned back to Alice as a purple orb solidified in her hand.
The woman cradled it in her hands and muttered something. The orb shrunk into a stone. Her dress vanished and she was in her normal clothes again. A pendant appeared in front of her floating in the air. A green glow surrounded the purple stone and she placed the stone in the pendant setting. The necklace changed and the stone was held in place by a dragon being wrapped around it. I watched as she used her magic to put it on around her neck.
"What did you do to me?!" Alice screamed.
"Your powers reside in the purple stone in this necklace. I will return them when I believe you have learned your lesson and have earned them," she turned to me, "unless you wish for me to return them to her now, Jasper."
Even though the woman knew that taking Alice's power was within her purpose, I could feel her guilt at taking them. I made my way towards Alice. I could feel that she was jealous and angry.
"Please, Jasper," I felt disgust radiating from my mate, "please make her give me back my gift, baby."
My mate started to walk towards me. I held my hand up and looked back at her. She quit walking, but I could feel her concern.
"I've got this," I gave her a nod, "I will be only a moment, mate."
She smiled at me and nodded. Concern quickly changed to trust and love. I turned my attention back to Alice.
Alice
The moment Jasper's focus was back on me I knew I had made the biggest mistake of my life interfering with his future. He had always been dependent on me for control, but now that he found his mate he was in perfect control of his urges. I didn't have to be able to read or feel people's emotions to know his anger towards me was controlled. I could see he wanted to let it out though. He wanted me to pay for what I had done. He knelt down in front of me.
"You used your visions to keep me away from my mate. You controlled me and ruined my life and hers by interfering. If she says that you deserve to have your visions taken away then you do. I am not yours Alice, I never was. I feel at home with her more so than I ever did with you. Now I suggest you go on back to the house while I talk with my mate. I'm not going back til I do, so get a move on Alice." She looked at me terrified.
The she vanished from my sight and I turned back to my mate. She smiled at me.
"I know how hard that was, Jasper. I'm sorry that it had to be done." She walked up to me.
I reached out and held her face in my hands. She smiled up at me and I felt myself smiling back at her. I glanced down at the pendant on her chest that held Alice's powers.
"I can give them back if you want me to, Jasper. I know you two have been together awhile and her visions helped to protect your family," I shook my head, "you did the right thing. You could've killed her for what she did and instead you stripped her abilities. If she had wronged the Volturi like that they would have killed her. She may the last person that I really want to be around right now, but I know that if you had decided to kill her I would've stepped in because Carlisle and Esme would've been sad. So thank you for only removing her powers and not killing her."
She smiled at me again, "You're welcome, Jasper. Do you want to go see them? Would they even welcome me into their home considering what I did to Alice?"
"They might, but knowing Edward he would convince them not to," she looked confused, "why?"
"Now that Alice no longer has visions they can only rely on Edward's mind reading ability. He's normally the one in the family who tells us what happens in her visions when she can't. So because you took them away he'll paint you as the enemy." She frowns and bites her lip.
"What do you want to do if they reject me?" I looked into her green eyes and smiled.
"I'll go wherever you go. Even if that means we end up heading to Italy to face the Volturi for their crime," she looked worried, "are you sure, Jasper?"
I grabbed her hand and bent over kissing her knuckles. Her face burned bright red.
"I'm sure, Darlin," she looked relieved, "let's go talk with my coven."
