It's been a very long time, but I'm back! Thank you for all the support, and I'm glad to pick up where we left off. Brooke & Jax's story isn't done yet! So please continue to like, save, & follow 3
I didn't know where to go. I just knew I had to leave. I'm 24 years old and won't let my older brother tell me who I can and can't be around. I rushed back into the house and packed a bag as fast as possible.
"Brooke! What the hell happened?! David's outside fuming." Jacob said, barging into my room.
"I don't care; let him fume! I'm tired of everyone in this house questioning me." I shouted at him as I continued to pack.
"Oh, so you're just going to leave like you did last time? This is Classic Brooke abandoning her family whenever she feels like it," he said.
"'Abandoning my family?!' How dare you?! No one made a big deal when you left. No one cares that David moved out and has a life of his own. Dad's not even here! Why does everyone get to leave, but I get crucified." I yelled at him with tears piling into my eyes.
"Because we stick around for family no matter what. You're willing to drop family for friends, school, fucking Jax Teller. What you want to be the second baby mom and the dirty ass girl who hangs around his shop." He said scornfully in disgust.
"You know what, Jacob fuck you and fuck David. Because deep down, you're all jealous. You stayed in Charming because all you had was in Charming. So don't pull the family crap. I have a life outside this city and the talent to drive me there." I said as I got into his face aggressively, ready to leave with my bag.
"So then, why the hell are you back?" He replied.
I scoffed and forcibly brushed past his shoulders to make my exit. I got in my car, running past David and Jacob, who were trying to pull me back into the house. I drove. I drove to Jax. I'm unsure if it was the anger or adrenaline, but I rushed to the shop. No one was outside working. I thought it was weird, but I didn't think about it for too long. I ran inside the clubhouse, looking for Jax.
"Jax! Jax! Where are you?!" I called for him.
Nothing could have prepared me for what I had seen. There he was, with the crew: Chibbs, Opie, Juice, Tig, Pinney, Half-Sack, Bobby, Happy, and Clay. They were all standing around the round table covered in guns. I mean, shit Tig had two AKs in his hands. I dropped my bag in disbelief. I knew it wasn't the Boy Scouts, but I never thought how dangerous it all was.
"Jax?" My voice shook, calling his name.
"Brooke, what the fuck are you doing here?" He shouted at me.
"I-I-I don't..." I stuttered over my words, terrified.
They all looked at me like I was a threat, even Jax himself. Like I just discovered something I wasn't supposed to, and they looked ready to take care of me for it. It wasn't till a second after that Jax yanked my arm to drag me outside the clubhouse and back out to the shop.
"Ow, Jax, stop! You're hurting me!" I screamed.
"I'm sorry, Brooke, but you can't be here," he said angrily.
"I don't have anywhere else to go. I got into a fight with David and Jacob. I can't stay there anymore." I said quietly, sad.
"Shit. Brooke. You can't stay with Chasity?" He replied.
I cocked my head to reply. "The same Chasity who lives with David."
"Brooke, now is not the right time." He said.
"I thought you said we were in this together. What's going on Jax." I questioned desperately.
He let out an enormous sigh, sweeping his hands down across his face. "I don't want you involved, Brooke. You need to go home. I love you way too much to put you in this. You're my one piece of normal, Brooke. Please don't take that away from me." He said as he put his hands on the side of my face, wiping away my tears.
A silver Honda pulled up in front of us.
"Everything alright, Jax?" It was Jemma.
She always scared me. It was always like she could see right through me. I remember she called me a stuck-up tease when she thought I wasn't listening.
"My gosh. Is that little-bitty Brooke? All grown up from the city, aren't ya?" She said coyly.
"Yup, that's me," I said with a lighthearted smile. Trying to act as if I wasn't just crying a second ago.
"Everything alright, dear?" She looked at me.
"I wish it was." I said.
"Brooke, don't." Jax said as he looked at me.
"I hope you don't mind, but I need a place to stay for a little while, and I was hoping it would be here." I asked politely, but I was very scared.
"What? The ever-so charming Hale mansion not doing it for you anymore? I guess people do change." She replied sarcastically.
"She won't stay long. I'll make sure of it." Jax said.
"Fine. But I don't like a freeloader, so you'll do your part. Clean and help out around the shop. This isn't a strip club; you can't fuck your way around. Most importantly, you had better learn this quickly: everything you see and hear here doesn't leave this place. You're still a Hale, and that's the enemy in my eyes... Welcome to the club." She said.
"I hope you're happy." Jax said, annoyed and angered.
I don't know what I had gotten myself into. I just hope it wasn't as bad as I pictured it. I thought to myself, what if I'm making a decision I can never reverse?
