Tanya stood in the bathroom staring at the cracked wall for what seemed like hours until a knock on the door pulled her out of her stupor.

"Tanya? You okay in there? I heard a loud bang?" came the concerned voice of Debbie. The door was slightly ajar from the strike earlier causing the door to slip from the catch. Tanya scrambled to the door, but was too late as the heavily pregnant woman looked in and saw the large crack basically splitting the wall. "Well then…"

Tanya stood there watching the soon to be mother stare at the wall before coughing into her hand, "Maybe after your shower you come sit down and talk about it okay?" With that she closed the door and Tanya stood there standing staring at the door before her body went autopilot and began to prepare for the shower.

When Tanya exited the bathroom, she beelined for the bedroom to quickly dress. As she stepped down the stairs while drying her damp hair, she found Debbie sitting on the sofa with Anya. Tanya raised an eyebrow, questioning why Anya was staring at her in awe.

Debbie sighed and pointed at the wall behind her. Tanya glanced over her shoulder, noticing the very visible cracking with a wince. "I've called your father as I'd rather not explain this to Anya without him." Tanya mutely nodded, Anya silently watching them but she was bouncing on the spot, full of excitement.

"Tanya! You have super powers now?!"

"How strong are you?!"

"How do you have su—" she was interrupted by Tanya raising her hand, her other hand pinching her brow, a habit she picked up from Nolan.

"I can't answer all of your questions Anya, not until father arrives…" as she finished her statement a thundercrack echoed as Nolan stepped into the home, dressed in casual clothes. He glanced at the cracked wall before looking at Tanya before returning his attention to Tanya herself and frowned.

"Tanya.. Your powers ar—" he was paused by a wet splash and everyone looked at Debbie who stood up in shock.

"My water just broke… Nolan the baby is coming" Debbie almost whispered. The reaction was swift as Nolan ran to the car and opened the door and placed Debbie into the passenger seat.

Swiftly returning he looked at Tanya and Anya "Tanya you know how to work the phone? Call Anya's parents and ask them to pick her up and drop you off at the hospital." Nolan left in a hurry and she could hear the car speed off.

She glanced at Anya who stood in shock before she picked up the phone.

Tanya sat next to Nolan in the hospital hearing Debbie shout in pain, she could hear the seat audibly crack as Nolan gripped the chair with a death grip, she glanced up at the clock and saw it was nearly midnight. Her eyes felt heavy and tiredness grips her mind but the constant noise of the busy hospital kept her awake.

Soon the shouting from Debbie ceased as the crying of a baby took its place. Nolan shot up from his seat, startling Tanya. A nurse walked out of the room and allowed both her and Nolan into a very exhausted Debbie. The new mother looked at the bundle in her arms as she glanced at the pair of aliens. Nolan walked over to her side and Tanya deftly followed him as Nolan looked at the small boy in Debbie's arms. As both parents smiled warmly at the baby, Debbie looked at Tanya, motioning for her to come closer and Tanya did so.

Peering down to the small child in the mothers arms she saw big blue eyes reflecting her blue back at her as he attempted to reach out to her "Say hello to Mark, Tanya your little brother."

Tanya stared at the child for what seemed an eternity, "Tanya?" Tanya snapped her head up and she looked at Debbie, she felt a pull on her braid as she looked down again to find the little Mark pulling at her hair with wonder. Tanya raised her brow at the newborn's actions before slowly lowering her hand to his and he immediately gripped her fingers and held onto them with all he had.

Nolan had a small smile, but it was barely noticeable under his moustache. "Strong isn't he?" his voice filled with a sense of pride, for what Tanya couldn't say.

"He is our son Nolan," Debbie returned the sentiment of the baby's strength

It was the next morning, the rest of the rest of the previous night was them readying the baby for travel home. Tanya stared at the room where the door was slightly ajar where she could see the crib. A hand came to rest on her shoulder as she looked up and found Nolan staring at her. "Time for you to train your powers, Tanya," was all that needed to be said.

She followed Nolan to the back garden and she watched him gently float in the air when he stepped outside. "Tanya, let's begin with flight," he paused to see if she was listening. "To begin with, flight is like a muscle and like all muscles you need to train it. But first you must feel out where that muscle is." he explained.

Tanya nodded and closed her eyes trying to feel what he was explaining and she felt a familiar pull and then she grinned and crouched slightly, her form blurred as she shot into the sky like a speeding bullet with a thunder crack left in her wake as the wind blew in her face.

She looked down and saw Nolan easily keeping pace with a smirk on his face. He shot past her and stopped, barely a dot in the air. She caught up eventually and gazed around her, they were in low orbit where the air was still present but so thin that normal people needed oxygen helmets to breathe, but still low enough that the real dangers of space were kept at bay. She gazed up and saw the stars burning beyond the earth's atmosphere and then she gazed down and saw the Earth in all her magnificent beauty, a blue and green vastness with sprawling cities dotting her surface. "Tanya." She looked up to the Grayson patriarch, his face stiff. "Now we are going to handle landing, soft… and hard as sometimes you don't have the luxury of a soft one," he paused briefly. "Do not worry about crashing as your body can handle it," he explained.

"First we are going to do the easier one, hard." He took a breath before falling and beckoning for her to follow. At first she feared it but remembered Nolan had dropped from the sky like it was nothing. She let go and fell, slowly at first… gravity teasing the pull before she fell to the Earth, wind causing her braid to flap behind her as she fell.

The eight year old Viltrumite watched the ground increasingly grow closer faster by the second, she watched Nolan slow just enough to be beside her. "Remember land with your legs!" he shouted over the roaring wind. She watched him pull back as she returned her attention to the ground. Her impact imminent, she balled up to reorient her body as she put her legs towards the ground.

She woke up in her bed, her legs heavily bruised but nothing broken.

She tried shifting her legs towards the edge of the bed and pain throughout her legs flared up. She sat there considering the past events now that she can remember more than the last eight years. She growled in anger as she thought of her death prior to this life, the gloating that Being X did when she was dying…

Then she reflects the last eight years, her birth, her mother and her mothers escape. Tanya realised that with their powers that her mothers 'death' was just her escaping from the attacks of other Viltrumites, she remembers arriving on Earth and the team that greeted them… the guy who looked absurdly like Lincoln, she will need to look into that.

Then she takes a moment to think of Nolan and Debbie and how quickly they got together. It was strange… the only thing she can genuinely not really consider was Mark himself with him only being a newborn baby. She will find a way to spite Being X more than she has before. First she will learn her power set and try to keep things normal until she is older.

She heard the door creak open. Tanya watched Debbie peek her head in and smile, the young mother stepped inside with Mark in her arms. The newborn's blue eyes latched onto Tanya as he reached for her. "Someone wanted to make sure you were okay," Debbie had a humorous tone to her words as she sat at the edge of the bed and allowed Mark to sit in her lap.

Mark immediately grasped Tanya's braid and was amazed by the golden locks in his hands, "You know, while I agree with Nolan's plan for you to get used to your powers," the mother paused, bobbing Mark in her lap, "I don't agree with his methods." She sighed with a look of resignation "I know you are a tough girl Tanya but it pains me to see your hurt and it upsets Mark to see his big sister hurt."

Tanya looked at Debbie and covered her legs with the quilt. "I understand Debbie… But I can't understand my powers unless I push myself and that means getting hurt," she explained. Debbie opened her mouth to speak but Tanya raised her hand, "I know you and Mark care but I need to do this." Tanya frowned as she felt the tug at her hair, she looked down at Mark. "May I hold him?"

This took Debbie by surprise as she mutely allowed Tanya to lift the boy with ease and place him into her lap with a slight wince, which caused Mark to cutely frown he lifted her braid up to her and cutely gurgled as if to say some words of encouragement.

Tanya watched the little boy play with her braid and looked up at Debbie. "Someday… I think Mark here will go through what I'm going through, maybe not at the same age but at some point," Tanya cautioned Debbie with heavy words. "And hopefully I will be able to soften Nolan's approach to training him."

Debbie frowned at Tanya's words, as she spoke with a tone not fitting for an eight year old child. The newborn was lifted off her lap by his mother much to his dismay, "Get some rest Tanya… We will talk more tomorrow when your legs are better."

Tanya laid there with her own thoughts before she decided to put them aside and closed her eyes to sleep in an attempt to speed up the healing in her legs.

It was the next morning when Tanya woke with the house vibrating from a thunderous roar, she could feel her legs are substantially more healed from her 'hard' landing. She stepped out of her bed and with wobbly legs before she decided it was easier flying, and she floated downstairs, she could hear the voices of Debbie and Anya's parents.

Oh right. Anya was meant to visit today. Tanya lowered herself carefully back onto the ground, fortunately she was wearing a pair of baggy sweatpants and an overly large t-shirt. She made her way down very slowly so as not to further agitate her injuries. When she made it down to the bottom of the stairs, she heard a noise and saw that Mark spotted her, his small face lit up in joy.

Carefully she lifted him into her arms and sat next to Debbie and winced, as her legs were still very much still bruised. Mark frowned as her braid was not in and he wanted to play with her hair.

"Tanya!" Anya shouted excitedly as she darted her way over to her friend. This caused Anya's parents to look at the just woken up Tanya, who really did not want the attention. "How are you and who is this?" The hyperactive blonde was speaking far too quickly, and she has not even had a coffee yet.

Tanya gave Anya a pointed look, "I am fine Anya." She then looked at the parents, "And this is my little brother Mark," she gestured to the baby in question that is sitting on her lap.

"Tanya? Could you hand me Mark please?" Debbie asked and Tanya nodded as she gently lifted the newborn into his mothers arms. "Your father is outside Tanya, he wants to take you to train, do be careful."

Tanya stepped out onto the grass and looked up, seeing a dot in the sky that was Nolan, she gently floated up before slowly picking up pace to meet him in the air. Nolan floated there in the air looking at the sky before turning to face Tanya. "Since your body is still healing, we will talk about responsibility," his tone was resolute.

Tanya frowned "Responsibility?"

Nolan nodded. "Yes, I want you to learn some basics for when you use your powers, flight is not that big of an issue. But don't be seen by anyone who doesn't know your identity as a Viltrumite, strength will be intoned by control so you don't accidentally maim someone… that being said, if someone is the cause of the loss of live in a large scale, do not be afraid to 'hurt' them as while we can't lay down the law, we can prevent them from causing more harm later down the line," he explained.

Tanya nodded, seeing the logic in those words "If they are a threat from beyond humanity?" she questioned him?

His face set in a grim look, "Put them down." Tanya looked down at the house below them "I know I'm not your daughter Knowl-ahn," she used his Viltrumite name to further his point "But I feel a need to protect Mark." She looked back up at him, his facial features were softer as he wasn't as dark of thoughts.

"Come Tanya, we will need to go down there before Anya tears out her hair trying to find us," he chuckled lightly as he lowered down slowly and she followed suit, both watching Anya stare out of Tanya's bedroom window trying to find them.

Anya's face lit up when she spotted Tanya flying, as Nolan took the front door to enter the household, Tanya on the other hand floated in through her bedroom window.

Both children stood there in an uncomfortable silence…. Before Anya began asking a thousand questions a second. Tanya was bewildered by her unrestrained enthusiasm.

Tanya sat there trying to answer as many questions as she could without breaking Nolan's rules on her heritage. When the hyperactive blonde ran out of questions, Tanya sat there comfortably as Anya was told to come with her parents to leave the Grayson residence.

The super powered girl sat there before she began to study for school as she wanted the best grades for when she left school and have the best career possible.
