Crocottas, quests and questions.

"Alright everybody, settle down!" said Annabeth as she walked into the classroom. It was a wide room with three walls and a lot of pillars. In the front of the room was a blackboard and an office desk with a bunch of books. The rest of the classroom was made of stone, except for a few book shelfs, ancient maps and paintings. There were twenty-five students of the age 9 to 15 (plus Percy).

When she walked in, everyone at once stopped talking and faced the blackboard, where a weird looking creature was drawn with chalk. It looked like a hyena and a lion. Percy almost remembered what it was, it started with a c...

"Crocotta or a cynolycus is a creature with the body of a stag, a lion's neck, cloven hooves, and a wide mouth with a sharp, bony ridge in place of teeth. It imitates the human voice, calls men by name at night, and devours those who approach it." (Thank youpercabethluver7 for the idea and I couldn't describe it better) To kill a crocotta, you must sever its spinal cord, and the best way of doing this is by stabbing it in the back of the neck. Any questions?" finished Annabeth. Everyone was nodding and no one raised their hand. The lessons at camp were shorter than at school, it usually takes 20-30 minutes to finish talking about a monster, creature or a celebrity person.

"Alright, tomorrow is Norse mythology so we will discuss Sleipnir, an eight-legged flying horse ridden by Odin." she said "Percy, can we talk?"

After everyone left the classroom, Percy approached his girlfriend.

"Annabeth, what happened this morning? You are never late" they locked

eyes, and he tried to kiss her, but she looked away and told him to sit. Percy was confused, did he do something wrong? Or did he miss an important date? He went through all the important dates in his mind, his birthday, her birthday, anniversary ...

"What di-"

"Malcolm and I will explain everything" Annabeth cut him off

"Malcolm? What does Malcolm have to do with thi-" as if on cue, Malcolm himself walked into the classroom and saw Percy. He looked at Annabeth with understanding and she nodded.

"Alright, what's going on, and let me finish this sentence for once" Percy broke the silence. Malcolm walked over to them and sat next to him while Annabeth started explaining everything about the previous night. This time she told them everything, well almost. She told them about the sound, Olive, Rachel and Chiron. She didn't tell Percy why Malcolm was out of bed; she used the same excuse as with Chiron. Also, she told them that she visited Rachel for a prophecy, but she didn't tell them what the prophecy was. Annabeth only assured them, that nobody dies nor gets hurt.

Malcolm thought if she included herself in the "nobody".

When she finished her story, Percy's mouth was wide open.

"Wait, so you can't leave camp until the quest, which is next year?"

Annabeth rolled her eyes "Yes seaweed brain, that's what I said."

"But that's not fair!"

"I know-"

"But... urgh I will go talk to Chiron"

"Perseus enough" Annabeth whispered warningly. That was usually a sign that she might judo flip someone any moment. "I know that it's unfair, but it's for the best, I can stay and train, and you will NOT talk to Chiron about this, if you don't want to make it worse."

"Alright then, I am staying too."

"Seaweed brain, if you stay, Chiron will separate us, even an Aphrodite kid can figure that out" she said "Percy, go home, to your mom and Paul, I will be fine, besides, this is not my first year-round without you"

"Summer ends in two weeks, is this the last time we talk?"

"No, it's not the last time, but we can't see each other every day like this, even tho for now it's our only option." Annabeth answered, she didn't want to admit it, but she still respects Chiron. Malcolm was watching their conversation like a tennis match, then he coughed a little to get his sister's attention. She looked at him, Annabeth forgot her brother was still in the room.

"Right" she said "A quest leader is usually accompanied by two demigods, I already asked Malcolm, and he accepted, so we need one more person"

"Okay... so you want me to help you pick one?" asked Percy.

Annabeth didn't know if her boyfriend was kidding or just dumb.

"No seaweed brain! I am asking you to come with me and my brother on the quest!"

"Wait- really?" he asked sarcastically and then laughed.

"Ha ha, very funny seaweed brain, now will you come" she tried to hide her smile.

"Of course! Together forever! And it would be nice family bonding" Percy looked at Malcolm with a smile, which slowly faded when he saw Malcolm expression. Malcolm was suspiciously scanning Percy with his falcon (lol) eyes. He knew of course everything about Percy, what Percy's done for camp, for Olympus and for Annabeth, but he still can be a protective suspicious brother. Because for some reason, everyone at camp knew about the Percy/Rachel kiss five years ago.

"Very well then, you guys can stop being awkward now, we are late for class" Annabeth broke the silence.

This was going to be the longest two weeks of her life.
