Chapter 19

Bang! Crackle!

The computer beside Ian exploded with angry sparks. Its screen went blank as an electrical current jumped from it to Ian's computer.

Ian's entire casing jerked backwards as he disconnected from the destroyed computer terminal. His casing's computer connected to his brain was still shocking him. In a blink of an eye, he could feel his casing already repairing the small but agonising damage done to the delicate computers connected to his brain.

Moving further away from the computer terminal his eye stock swirled away from the computer terminal. Barbara was his first point of call.

Relief spread through his body at seeing that she was alright. She was still on the ground, after Alydon had shouted out the command when the Dalek Supreme had started firing at every Dalek in the Control Room. Her body trembled as she looked up to him. Fright plastered onto her face as she looked at how close he had been to being destroyed.

Ian's eye stock twitched to his other friends. The Doctor had covered a quivering Susan with his body. An intense glare filled the Doctor's eyes as he looked to the Dalek Supreme.

His blue vision moved away from the Doctor and Susan back to the Dalek Supreme. The Supreme's red glare was fixed on Ian as he silently glided towards him. Ian could feel the Supreme's hatred for him ebbing towards him like a loud radio. The intense physic anger ebbing from the Dalek Supreme was enough to make Ian halt.

Inside his chest his heart thundered as an immense pressure build up in his brain. It was like with the Dalek Emperor all over again. He shrank down further into the cavern of his casing in a vain attempt to escape the building headache behind his eyes.

"You are an abomination! You are impure! You will be Exterminated!" the Dalek Supreme screeched to Ian as he slowly advanced towards Ian. Both his appendages trembled in disgust as he got closer and closer to Ian. His never blinking red glare never left Ian as he got closer and closer.

"Argh." Ian grunted as the headache's pressure got worse. The closer the Supreme got the worse the headache that thundered through his brain.

It was getting harder and harder for Ian to tell where his organic body ended and the casing started. He could always tell what was organic but lately it was getting harder. He already knew that some of his flesh had been threaded through the casing with a new nervous system that connected his brain to the many computers in the casing.

Pushing through the thundering headache, Ian looked right into the Supreme's red lens.

"You made me into an abomination!" Ian snapped over to the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Supreme stopped his advance towards Ian. His red glare was fixed upon Ian with anger and hatred oozing out of the artificial glowing eye. His gun stick quivered with rage as he snarled at Ian, "I was against this experiment from the start. If it was up to me I would have had you destroyed. But the Head Scientist deemed that your survival was needed for the future of the Dalek race."

Ian's eye stock tore away from the Supreme's red glare to the Head Scientist. The Dalek mutant had managed to drag itself away from its burning casing, but at a great deal of its strength. The green skinned Dalek mutant had crumbled into the floor. Its tentacles spread in all directions. The single bloodshot eye was clouded as its lungs rapidly searched for oxygen.

Horror filled Ian's heart at the sight of what had happened to the Dalek Head Scientist. The Head Scientist, a core demon in his nightmares had been reduced to nothing on the floor of the Control Room. Without his deadly casing he was nothing but a badly mutated dying creature.

Susan's sudden scream as the Control Room was bathed in a red light startled Ian. His eye stock moved away from the dying Head Scientist to the ceiling. The blinding white lights that had lit the Control Room had shifted to be red. Rather than being a steady light, the red lights flashed. Deep under the floor there was a low rumbling many floors underneath the Control Room.

The Dalek Supreme's blood red lens fixed on Ian. "What have you done? Explain! Explain!" he barked at Ian. His entire casing shock from side as the mutant inside the thrashed about.

Ian's eye stock turned away from the ceiling back to the Dalek Supreme. He looked right into the red glare of the Dalek Supreme. The lights on the top of Supreme's dome flashed as a menacing growled rumbled from his vocal processor. Ian watched as the Supreme's entire casing trembled with anger and possible disgust.

A small voice in the back of Ian's mind agreed with the Dalek Supreme. He was not a pure Dalek. He still clung onto what was left of his humanity. That small voice that whispered in his head kept telling him to let go of what was left of his humanity. It wanted him to be purged for being unclean.

The voice of his humanity was much louder than the voice of the Dalek. It shouted over the Dalek making it hard for Ian to hear what it was trying to tell him. Ian found himself focusing on the voice of humanity like a lifeline.

He did not want to let go of what was left of his humanity. It was all he had left. He couldn't let the others down. Not when they were so close. Close to defeating the Daleks and destroying their City. Close to helping the Thals in start a future where they can reclaim Skaro. And so close to leaving Skaro for once and for all.

Ian could not wait until he got back to the strange blue box. He couldn't wait until the Doctor got Barbara home. For him he didn't know what his future was going to entail.

His present however was clear as day as he looked into the red lens of the Dalek Supreme. Once again a part of Dalek City under the Control Room trembled. The shockwaves from the convulsions below ground travelled up the foundations all the way to the Control Room. He ignored Susan scream of fright as the red lights flickered in time with the aftershock.

"I have set the self-destruct sequence of your City. The Daleks are finished with on Skaro." Ian said back to the Dalek Supreme. His own gun stick twitched as the Supreme's gun stick trembled so much that he thought the weapon was going to fall off. That was how angry he made the Dalek Supreme and he was going to make his even more angry.

"I have also freed the innocent Thals who had been turned into your mindless slaves. Right now your former slaves are throwing a riot and attacking their former masters. All the while your city has started to be destroyed all around you." Ian continued to shout over to the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Supreme's entire casing trembled as he angry thrashed his organic body about inside of it. He let out a low mechanical growl as his appendages twitched in growing anger. His blood red lens flickered as anger started to blind him.

"You will be exterminated!" came the Supreme's enraged roar.

"No!" Alydon shouted as he stood up slowly from the floor. His eyes widened as the Dalek's eye stock moved away from Ian to regard him. He sucked in air through clenched teeth as he looked into the blood red glowing lens. "It is all over Dalek Supreme!"

The Dalek Supreme said nothing as he silently stared at Alydon. Anger flared as he looked at the Thal. The Thal who dared to stand up against him.

Alydon seeing the Supreme's silence as his cue he continued as once again the Control Room trembled, "You City is fallen apart all around you."

Bravely he looked away from the Dalek Supreme to all the destroyed Dalek casings scattered all around the Control Room. The casings were still sparking and crackling away. Flames consumed both organic and mechanical components of the casings.

Alydon looked back to the Dalek Supreme. The Dalek's red glare was still fixed onto him with hatred ebbing out from deep inside the casing. "And you have destroyed your own people. You have lost, Dalek Supreme. We have given you plenty of opportunities for peace but you refused them all." he coldly said as he kept staring into the blood red lens of his eye stock.

Alydon watched as the Dalek Supreme's black domed head rotated around. No longer under the piercing red glare, Alydon relaxed. His shoulders slumped as he caught his breathe. Quickly he looked away from the Dalek Supreme to look at Ian. The other Dalek was watching the black domed Dalek. Alydon looked back to the Dalek Supreme who was studying all the destruction that he had caused.

"But all this destruction and death cannot be the end." Alydon spoke up once again regaining the Supreme's attention. He waited until once again that red lens focused on him. "I offer you one last time for peace between the Daleks and Thals. Let us this event as a starting point for our races and Skaro to survive." he offered the Dalek Supreme as he presented the Dalek his hand. He knew that Daleks didn't have hands, but he hoped that seeing the sign would make the Dalek think of accepting the peace.

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock flicked between Alydon's outstretch hand and his face. The red lens of his eye stock almost blended in with the red lights that engulfed the Control Room.

The Control Room rumbled. Somewhere deeper in the City was an explosion.

Alydon kept looking into the Dalek Supreme's red eye stock. He still hoped that this was going to work out. For his father's memory. Along with everyone else who had died in their war. Both Thals and Daleks.

The small flicker of hope he had was dashed out when the Dalek Supreme roared, "Exterminate!"

Alydon sucked in air as he watched the Dalek Supreme's gun stick aim right at him. He couldn't take his eyes of the gun stick that started to glow as the Dalek Supreme charged his weapon. His heart skipped a beat when Dyoni screamed at him, "Run Alydon! Get out of the way! Or it's going to kill you!"

He could hear her shouting but he couldn't move. He was terrified. He was terrified that he was going to die. The very same monster that had killed his father and in the same room was going to kill him well. The world around him slowed down as he saw a laser beam flying through the air.

The Dalek Supreme roared as the laser beam struck his force shield. The energy shield that wrapped around his casing became visible with the laser striking it. His eye stock turned away from Alydon to Ian. Narrowing his red lens as he glared at Ian as he declared, "I will exterminate you first!"

The mid-section of his of his casing rotated around in order to align with its eye stock. His gun stick aimed at Ian.

"I am not going to give you a chance Dalek Supreme. You have caused too much death and destruction. For both Thals and Daleks!" Ian shouted back to the Supreme.

"They were all inferior lifeforms!" the Dalek Supreme shouted back to Ian. He fired his gun stick towards Ian, but the laser exploded into the computer beside him. "Their fate was to be exterminated by a superior being!"

"And what gives you the right to call yourself a superior being, hm?" the Doctor asked the Supreme as he rose up to his feet. Looking directly into the red lens that turned towards him. "There is no such thing as a superior race!" he argued as he kept staring into red lens.

The Dalek Supreme's red glowing eye stock lens focused on the Doctor. "Daleks are the supreme beings! We will cleanse the universe of all inferior species." he boasted to the Doctor. A hint of prideful arrogance filling in his mechanical voice as he spoke to the Doctor.

Disgust spread over his face as he gritted out, "Genocide!"

"Daleks are not superior!" came Ian's snarl. Once again he was under the red glare of the Dalek Supreme's eye stock. "You have destroyed your bodies so much that you cannot do anything without them. That to me does not sound superior." he continued his argument to the Dalek Supreme.

"Blasphemy! Exterminate!" roared the Dalek Supreme as he fired his weapon at Ian.

Intense pain stormed on his brain from the attack. The pain added to the already thundering headache that was still pounding away its way through his brain. The defence systems of Ian's casing was screaming at him as his shield protected him from the Dalek Supreme's energy attack.

Susan screamed from where she was standing in the Control Room as the Dalek Supreme once again fired at Ian. "Ian get out of there!" she shouted to him as the invisible shield became visible.

"I can't Susan. He needs to be stopped." Ian responded as he once again came under fire. The invisible shield that protected him once again became visible when the Dalek Supreme fired his energy weapon at him.

Ian swirled his eye stock around to face the Doctor and Alydon. "Doctor. Alydon. Get everyone out of here now!" he ordered the two men.

"Come along." the Doctor urged both Barbara and Susan. One of his arms reached for Barbara but she stepped forward. "Barbara, we must go!" he insisted to her.

Barbara looked over her shoulder. Her eyes had become puffy and red from all the crying she had been doing. "I am not leaving him, Doctor." she argued back to the Doctor.

"This is not the time to be arguing, dear girl." the Doctor huffed as he stretched out his arm to grab Barbara again. He huffed as she stepped forward and out of his reach. "Barbara, Chatterton knows what he is doing." he tried to reassure her.

Barbara looked away from the Doctor and back to Ian. She couldn't help but cry as she watched Ian's force field tremble under the Supreme's latest attack. "Ian, please. Come on, Dalek City will destroy him." she pleaded with him.

Ian's eye stock swirled to her. His unblinking blue lens was warm and welcoming unlike the cold evil red lens of the Dalek Supreme. "I have to do something, Barbara. Now go!"

The Dalek Supreme's eye stock swirled away from Ian. His red lens landed on the rest of his prisoners. "No one is allowed to leave. You will all be exterminated!" he roared at them.

The spheres on the Dalek Supreme's skirt section of his casing started to glow. "I will see to that." the Supreme hissed as a strange noise emanated from the glow spheres on his casing.

Johor was the first to cover his ears with his hands. He cried out as he scrunched his face up. "That noise. What is that noise?" he asked as he dropped to the ground. His entire body quivered as the noise got louder and louder. He kept his hands pressed against his ears but that did not stop the sound stabbing into his ear drums.

Dyoni and Susan were the next victims of the sound. Crying out as they both covered their ears.

"Susan?" cried the Doctor as he watched her dropping to the ground. He reached for her as she curled up in a tight ball on the ground. His hearts broke at hearing her screaming because of something that she could hear.

"Dyoni?" Alydon asked as he crouched beside her. He gentle placed one of his hands on her back. "Dyoni what is happening?" he asked her.

All Dyoni could do in response was to scream. Her hands were pressed tightly against her skull.

Alydon looked up to the Doctor and then Calavius. The two older men had not been affected by whatever weapon the Dalek Supreme had used against them. Keeping a soothing hand on Dyoni's back he looked at the Dalek Supreme.

The blood red glare of the Supreme bore into them all. The mutant inside of the casing was urging them all to drop dead.

Alydon was not afraid of the Dalek Supreme. He looked directly into the blood red lens as he asked, "What are you doing?"

"My casing is far superior to any other Daleks. The Head Scientist developed a sonic weapon for me to use when I was under threat from a Thal attack. At least he had some uses." came the Dalek Supreme's quick response to Alydon. His eye stock twitched away from Alydon to look to the unmoving body of the Dalek Head Scientist. "Too bad it was one of the few things that was not disgusting."

Alydon blinked as his ears started to ring. The ringing in his ears got louder and louder. It was so bad that he dropped to his knees before the Dalek Supreme. Cleaning his teeth together as he pressed his hands on either side of his skull. The ringing in his ears got so worse that tears started to form in the corner of his eyes.

"Barbara?" he heard the Doctor shout out.

Alydon managed to look to the side. Barbara had also dropped to the ground with her hands pressed on either side of her skull.

A thump from beside him was the notice that he got that Calavius was the next one to be attacked by the Dalek Supreme's invisible weapon. Alydon looked over to him to see that Calavius was curled up into a tight ball. His head was wrapped underneath his arms in an futile attempt to block out of the sound that was attacking them.

Ian could only watch in horror from inside his casing when finally the Doctor and Nyla dropped to the ground. Just like the others, they covered their ears with their hands in an attempt to block out the sound that they could hear. Quickly his casing moved away from in front of the destroyed computer terminal. His eye stock fixed on Barbara as she cowered before the Dalek Supreme.

"Yes bow before your master the superior being! Me!" boasted the Dalek Supreme.

Ian's eye stock swirled back to the Dalek Supreme. "What are you doing?" he asked the Supreme Dalek with worry creeping into his mechanical voice. "Stop it!"

"You do not command me, Abomination!" sneered the Dalek Supreme as his eye stock twitched to Ian. The eye stock's red lens fixed onto Ian as he pressed hatred and disgust towards the human turned Dalek. "Instead you will witness the deaths of your friends."

"I will stop you." declared Ian to the Dalek Supreme.

Barking a laugh back to Ian the Dalek Supreme turned his entire casing to regard Ian. "You stopping me? You are impure. The only thing you can do is die." he snarled back to Ian.

"You have caused everyone enough damage to the Thals. And I will protect my friends from you." Ian told the Dalek Supreme.

The laugh from the Dalek Supreme was a horrible noise. "You cannot stop me. Your shielding is failing you. All it will take me is to fire at you once and you will be dead." he chuckled to Ian.

"Not if I destroy you first!" Ian snapped to the Dalek Supreme. His gun stick twitched as he prepared to move before the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Supreme's red glare was fixed on Ian. "You destroy me?" he sneered back to Ian. "I am a pure blood Dalek. Nothing can kill me. Especially not an abomination. With your destruction Dalek City will have been cleansed."

Two Daleks fired at each other with their weapons at the same time each other.

Intense grippling pain struck Ian's nervous system connected with the casing. His shielding that protected him from the Dalek Supreme's attacks flickered as cracks started to form along it. Ian pushed through the pain he was feeling and fired quickly at the Dalek Supreme. He was not paying attention to what he was firing at it. He was only focused on keep firing because maybe just maybe he could finally destroy the Dalek Supreme.

"My vision has been impaired!" the sudden screeching of the Dalek Supreme refocused Ian to the moment.

Ian watched as the Dalek Supreme spun around in a circle. His appendages flared about as he kept spinning around. His eye stock twitching up and down but that blood red lens was no longer glowing.

"I am in danger protect me! Protect me!" the Dalek Supreme screeched out to any Dalek that would help.

"There is no one to help you." Ian coldly said as he slowly advanced towards the distressed Dalek. "You destroyed all the Daleks who would have helped you. You have burnt the bridges of peace with the Thals so many times that they wont help you." he continued as he got closer and closer to the Dalek Supreme.

The Dalek Supreme kept spinning around. His blank lens not focusing on anything as he kept spinning. "Spare me, Ian Chesterton. You are now a Dalek. You are a superior being." he pleaded with Ian.

Ian could only watch the Dalek Supreme. The Dalek Supreme that on the verge of his death was pleading with him. Only moments ago the very same Dalek Supreme was wanting to kill him. Ian had no emotions for the Dalek Supreme. Any emotions that he should be feeling for the other Dalek had been whipped clean with all the times he had nearly been killed by said Dalek.

"Like you said before, Dalek City will be cleansed of all Daleks." Ian found himself said to the Dalek Supreme.

The blinded Dalek Supreme spun to the source of his voice. The grey lifeless lens focused on him unseeingly. "Do not be foolish Ian Chesterton. If you kill me where will you belong. You are no longer human. You are not a Dalek either. You do not belong anywhere. You should be exterminated!" screeched the Dalek Supreme in a higher voice than before.

Ian stared at lifeless unseeing lens that stared at him. Even blinded the Dalek Supreme's gun stick kept twitching as he prepared to fire at him. He couldn't let the Dalek Supreme fire one more time. His shields were gone. The next attack from the Supreme would be fatal for him.

Not given the Supreme a chance to fire at him, Ian fired first. He aimed for the unseeing eye stock. It had already been damaged and so to him it was a weak point.

Ian could hear the screams from the Dalek Supreme as he kept firing. His aim was true and every shot he fired struck into the damaged eye stock. The Dalek Supreme was his only focus. He was not aware that the others were no longer being assaulted by the noise that had downed them. His mission was only to destroy the Dalek Supreme.

Under a constant barrage of laser fire for five minutes, the Dalek Supreme screamed as his casing exploded. His flesh was consumed by the flames that sparked from his very own casing that had once been his life support.

Ian could only stare at the destroyed Dalek Supreme's casing. Behind him he was aware of the others getting back to their feet. He just didn't care as he looked at the destroyed casing of the Dalek Supreme.

Alydon walked past Ian. He flashed him a small smile. Quickly he looked away from Ian as he approached the destroyed Dalek Supreme casing. His face wrinkled up as the smell of burnt flesh reached his noise. While keeping a distance from the electrical sparks that sparked he peered into the destroyed the casing. Large chunks of burnt flesh had been ripped off and clung to the pieces of the casing. There was no way that a Dalek could survive being torn apart and burnt alive.

Dyoni took a hesitant step forward. She wrapped her arms over her chest as she took another step forward but stopped. She was not brave enough to get any closer to the destroyed Dalek. The only Dalek she was comfortable on getting close to was Ian. "Alydon, is it dead?" she asked in a small voice.

Alydon kept looking into the casing. A large smile on his face as he declared, "The Dalek Supreme is dead!"
