Chapter 24: Hero of the Day

Battle Force 10, having recently finished a mission after battling it out with the Dwellers, were celebrating in Zeke's Diner. "Another mission complete, another Battle Zone sealed." Vert said. "Yeah. We especially owe it to Zen. Not bad for your first official mission." Zoom said. "It was a thrill to assist you, my friends. Though I still smell Fury's dog breath." Zen joked. "Hey, guys, there's a news bulletin on TV from Copper Canyon." Grace said, putting the news bulletin on the TV. "And in other news, the toxic supervillain known as Toxzon had recently made another attempt to destroy Copper Canyon by creating a rainstorm made of acid. But thanks to Max Steel, his team and their newest team member, although Toxzon managed to get away, his plans were once again foiled." The anchorman said. "Man, that Max Steel sure knows how to keep himself and his team busy." Olivia said.
Later, after paying Zeke for their pizza, they left the diner and returned to the Hub. "So, what are we gonna do today?" Spinner asked as they walked through the deployment station. "Uh, what do you mean by that, Spin?" Rayona asked in confusion. "I was thinking we should take a day off after all the missions we've been through for the past few months since we started this team." Spinner said. The team thought about this. "We do need a bit of a break." Sherman said. The rest of the team agreed. "We do deserve a day off." Vert said. "We could hang out somewhere. But not in Handler's Corners. We can go to a town with something more special in it." Olivia said. Suddenly, that gave Vert an idea. "I got it. We'll go out on a drive. There's a magnificent city just 300 miles outside Handler's Corners." He said. "And just what is this city's name?" Horace asked. "Lumiose City. A dazzling metropolis of art and artifice." Olivia said. The team immediately became interested. "Oh, I wanna go to Lumiose City and see it!" Talia said excitedly. "I'd like to go there too. I've once heard about Lumiose City during my travels. I've heard that it's filled with beautiful lights during the night. Hence why everyone says it's the most dazzling city in the world." Stanford explained. "That's so true." Vert said. "Then it's settled. We'll all go to Lumiose City for our day off." Olivia said. The team cheered at that.
About 35 minutes later, the team was now dressed in their civilian clothes and headed to their rides at the Deployment Station. As the team hopped into their respective vehicles, Vert and Olivia spoke with Sage, TRINA, Iguanarox, Zug, Destina and Cellica about heading for Lumiose City. "You're more than free to go, Vert. We will not be experiencing any Stormshock portals for quite some time." Sage said. "It's a shame we can't go with you guys because of our appearances. And if we go into public, we'll have a major problem." TRINA said. "Sorry, TRINA. But we'll work on a way to disguise you guys for any future trips." Olivia said. "Vert, Liv, we're ready to go!" Agura called. "Don't worry. We'll be back by late tonight." Vert said, giving Sage a quick kiss before he and Olivia hurried to their vehicles and hopped in. "Battle Force 10, let's roll out!" He called. With that, the team drove out of the Deployment Station, onto the road and headed out of Handler's Corners on their way towards Lumiose City.
A while later, Battle Force 10 was about 230 miles in driving towards Lumiose City. While driving, Zoom pulled his Chopper up next to the Saber. "Vert, have you and Liv ever been to Lumiose City before?" He asked. "Yeah, we've been there a few times. And we've had quite a good time." Vert said. "Hey, hey, hey! No spoiler alerts until we get to the city to see for ourselves." Spinner said through the com-link. That made the team laugh a bit as he said that. As they continued down the road, about 110 miles out, they came across some civilian cars as they drove by. "We're almost to Lumiose City, team. We've just crossed onto the Lumiose Highway now." Vert said through the com-link. "But be careful, team. There are often times with road rages on this highway." Olivia warned. The team understood this as they continued to drive carefully. Suddenly, as the highway was looking normal, an unknown black car overtook and got in front of the Reverb. Stanford, getting confused, tried to get past, but the black car kept blocking his way. Knowing what was up, he called the team on his com-link. "Guys, I got some black car in front of me and he keeps blocking me." He said. "The driver might be trying to cause an accident, scamming the accident so you'd have to pay all the damages." Vert said. "That's how so many road rages are caused on this highway, especially if someone's trying to blame someone else responsible for the accident." Olivia said. "What do we do? I don't want Stanford get in serious trouble. Especially since we can't use our weapons in public." Agura said.
Just then, Stanford spotted a police car up ahead. "I've got an idea." He said and started using his psychic powers. Meanwhile, within the black car, the man who was driving chuckled to himself sinisterly. "I can't wait to see how much he has to pay for damages from the accident." He said. Suddenly, Stanford used his telekinesis to press down on the gas pedal, causing the car to speed up, surprising the man. He tried to stop the car by hitting the brake, but it wouldn't budge. Stanford's telekinesis was firmly holding it in place. "Come on! Stop, you hunk of junk!" The man cried with worry. Just then, he sped past the police car, causing the officer to drive after him. "Awww! That guy's so in trouble!" Ivan said with laughter. Stanford chuckled as he ceased his psychic power, making the black car finally stop as the officer caught up and confront the man. The team drove by as they watched the man get arrested for charge of speeding. "That jerk deserves to be caught red-handed." Agura said. "You did great using your powers and getting that man arrested, Stanford." Vert said. "Thanks, Vert." Stanford said. "Now, on to Lumiose City!" Vert cheered as they continued on the way to Lumiose City.
Later, as 15 minutes have passed, Battle Force 10 arrived at a gateway entrance that led to a bridge that looked similar to the Golden Gate Bridge. Zoom and Zen looked over and saw a big city on the other side. "Whoa! Guys, check it out! I think I see Lumiose City!" Zoom called. The team looked and saw it too. They were in awe to see Lumiose City for the first time. "Head's up, guys. We're about to enter the city." Vert said, snapping the team out of their trance. So, they made it to the other side of the bridge, entered the city and headed to the Lumiose Parking Lot to park their rides. After parking, the team got out of their vehicles and walked out of the parking lot. "So, where do we go first?" Zen asked. "Well, for starters, we need to go to this spot called Jaune Plaza. It's actually close by too." Olivia said. So, with the team on agreement, the team headed their way to Jaune Plaza.
Later, as they arrived at Jaune Plaza, the team saw that there were lots of people walking and roaming by. "Wow! Look at those people!" Talia said, looking around in awe. "This city is so popular." Sherman said. "It sure is. It's one of the biggest tourist attractions in the entire world. Great food, great sights, great stores. They sometimes call it 'The City of Lights'." Vert explained. The team was in awe at that. "So, where should we go first?" Horace asked. "There." Olivia said, pointing to a map sign nearby. The team went over to the map sign as it showed the entire city. "Okay, we are here." Vert said, pointing to the 'You Are Here' marker and showing them where they were. "There's more map signs all over the city to help guide people when they get lost." Olivia explained. The team looked over the map before deciding on where they wanted to go. "So, where do you guys want to go?" Vert asked. "Stanford and I want to go to Hibernal Avenue. There's a canal ride there." Agura said, linking her arm with Stanford's. "The Cortez brothers, Horace and I want to go to Autumnal Avenue. There's this famous shop there that sells interesting stuff for cooking that I really wanna check out." Rayona said. "Talia and I want to go to Bleu Plaza. They got an ice rink there." Ivan said. "Grace, Zen and I want to go to Magenta Plaza. It's got a park with lots of cherry blossom trees." Zoom said. "Okay. So, we're gonna split up in groups." Vert said. "But what about you 2? Where do you go?" Zen asked. "Vert and I are going down to Rouge Plaza. There's this cool shop that sells racing stuff." Olivia said. "And where are we gonna meet for dinner?" Grace asked. "We'll meet up at Centrico Plaza, the heart of Lumiose City." Vert said. "There's a large, tall tower in the middle called the Prism Tower. And it's also a mall. There, we'll have dinner tonight." Olivia said. The team understood as they split up and headed in different directions to go to the locations they wanted to go.
Stanford and Agura arrived at Hibernal Avenue and headed to the canal ride. When they got there, they see the docks with boats floating in the water of the canal. "That ride looks pretty cool." Agura said. "Yes. And we better get on quick. Those boats only carry about 8 people." Stanford said. So, the 2 lovers hopped aboard one of the boats as it started sailing down the canal. As the boat sailed through the canal, Stanford and Agura see more places within Lumiose City as they sailed by. "It's such an amazing sight." Agura said. Stanford then saw a couple of swans floating by. When the swans got close, they formed a heart with their heads and necks. He smiled at that scene as it reminded him of his love for Agura. And so, with the canal ride continuing, as he put a romantic arm over her shoulders, Stanford and Agura enjoyed their romantic ride.
Meanwhile, the Cortez brothers, Rayona and Horace arrived at Autumnal Avenue. "Alright, where's this famous shop you wanted to see, Ray?" Sherman asked. As she looked around, Rayona spotted a shop with a sign on top that read "Chef's Luxurious Kitchen Shop". "Oh! There! I see it!" Rayona called as she ran towards it. "Hey! Wait up!" Spinner exclaimed as he, Sherman and Horace followed after her. Rayona entered the shop and was in awe to see the shop's interior. It had several kinds of kitchen items and ingredients on sale. Squealing in excitement, Rayona wasted no time as she started going through different aisle sections just as the Cortez brothers and Horace entered the shop. They watched as she looked through each aisle, looking amazed and excited. "I've never seen Rayona so excited before." Spinner said. "No kidding. Look at all this stuff. I've never seen so many different kinds of herbs and spices in my life." Sherman said, looking at a spice bottle. "True. It's no game shop, but this is some pretty amazing." Horace said. "Okay. Then let's follow Rayona and look around." Spinner said as they followed Rayona as she looked around in awe.
Meanwhile, Ivan and Talia just arrived at Bleu Plaza and made their way towards the ice rink park. As they arrived at said location, they saw a huge dome with a large sign that said "Welcome to Glace Rink Park". As they entered through the dome entrance, they saw people skating around a big open ice field. "Oh, this is so exciting! I haven't been ice skating since I was with my brother." Ivan said, getting hyped. "Uh, Ivan? I have a confession. I've…never ice skated before." Talia said. "No worries, Tal. I can teach you how to skate." Ivan said. "Really? Oh, that would be wonderful!" Talia cheered. So, they replaced their shoes with ice skates. But as they stepped onto the rink, Talia's legs started to shake and nearly caused her to fall over. Luckily, Ivan managed to catch her before she fell on the ice floor. "Careful. I'll help you keep your balance." He said. He helped steady Talia's balance and guided her as they held hands.
Meanwhile, Zoom, Grace and Zen arrived at Magenta Plaza and went over to the cherry blossom park. Upon arriving, they gazed upon a beautiful sight. The park was filled with cherry blossom trees all over. There was a large sign above the park entrance gate that read "Welcome to Sakura Picnic Park". The 3 walked into the park and started walking around, seeing people having a good time as well as having picnics and having dates with their lovers. "This park is a lovely sight." Grace said. "You're right. This park is a perfect place for couples to have a picnic or a date." Zoom said. "I wish Mai was here to see this place. She would've loved it." Zen said sadly. "Don't worry, Zen. Mai will see this park one day if we meet up with her again." Zoom said. That made Zen smile. The 3 continued to explore around the park.
Meanwhile, Vert and Olivia arrived at Rouge Plaza and walked into a shop called HW Race Shop. They looked around, seeing that the shop had all sorts of accessories for vehicles. Then they looked over at the counter to see a familiar Hispanic man in his early 40s. His name is Alfonso Franco, but he's always referred as Mr. Franco. He looked up and saw the Wheelers. "Ah, young Vert and Olivia. So nice to have your presence in my shop again." He greeted as he walked over to them. "It's so good to see you too, Mr. Franco." Olivia said, hugging Mr. Franco. "So, how can I help you?" Mr. Franco asked. "Oh, we have nothing to do. We just brought our friends on their first trip to Lumiose City. We're just here to catch up with you, old friend." Vert said. In the past, Mr. Franco was an old friend and racing teammate of their MIA father, Jack Wheeler. The 3 started talking to each other about their days, including how Vert and Olivia met their new friends.
Meanwhile, back at Hibernal Avenue, Stanford and Agura had just finished their canal ride and had climbed off the boat with the other passengers. "That was a great ride." Agura said. "I agree. I've never rode a canal ride before in my life." Stanford said. Before they started to head to Centrico Plaza to meet up with the team, they heard someone crying. "Where's that crying coming from?" Agura asked with concern. Stanford looked around and saw a teenage girl crying in an alleyway. "There. I think that girl needs help." Stanford said. They walked over to the weeping girl. "Are you alright? What's wrong?" Agura asked with concern. "I…I just broke up with my boyfriend…and my heart is broken so badly!" The girl cried. Stanford sat next to her and put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It's a bad day for you in a beautiful city like Lumiose City for someone to go through a breakup. Was your ex-boyfriend rude to you?" He asked. "Well, not at first. But then I found out that he was cheating on me with another girl. And that made me so…furious! On that very moment, I slapped him so hard and yelled at him that we're done before I just ran away in tears!" The girl explained, crying even harder. "Hey, I get it. I've seen many breakups in the past before I met my true love. Your ex-boyfriend was nothing because of his lack of loyalty and sexual desire. He's an asshole jerk." Stanford explained, cursing for the first time. Agura was surprised to hear her boyfriend curse while the girl chuckled a bit. "Truthfully, you need to move on and find someone who will love you for who you are." Stanford said. "But…but what if they're like my ex-boyfriend? I'm already suffering from a first heartbreak and I don't want to suffer like that again or I might die soon." The girl said, starting to feel worried. "You have to choose carefully before trusting them." Agura advised. "And watch carefully of their actions before forming a relationship." Stanford advised. "Yes. I'll do that. Thank you both so much. Bye!" The girl said, waving goodbye as she walked off. "Good luck!" Stanford called. "Hope you find someone who will love you!" Agura called. And with that, the girl was gone. With that problem solved, Stanford and Agura continued to head their way to Centrico Plaza.
Meanwhile, back at Autumnal Avenue, Rayona, Horace and the Cortez brothers had exited the kitchen shop, all carrying bags of newly bought kitchenware and ingredients. "Oh, I can't wait to see what kinds of dishes I can make with all our new ingredients!" Rayona said in excitement. "I never knew cooking could get you so excited, Ray." Spinner said. "Well, we all have our own fun and exciting hobbies whenever we're not saving the world, Spinner." Rayona said. "She's right, big bro. Everyone's got their own hobbies. Like how Horace plays his games, Vert has his dates with Sage and working on his Saber, and Zoom practices his archery skills." Sherman explained. Suddenly, there was an angry shout nearby. Rayona, Horace and the Cortez brothers looked over to see a young man sobbing on his knees on the sidewalk. There were dozens of cooking supplies around him, as if he just threw them aside. Rayona walked over to him with Horace and the Cortez brothers following. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" Rayona asked. "I'm a failure!" The young man sobbed. "Why?" Rayona asked. "I'm a young cook in training. I tried to make my first dish, but I failed miserably because I lack the proper cooking skills. I'll never be a great chef if I can't make my meals to be good!" The young man explained as he sobbed into his hands. Horace and the Cortez brothers looked at each other in concern.
Rayona put a comforting hand on the young man's shoulder. "It's okay. You know, I was terrible too when I first started cooking." She said. "You were?" The young man asked, perking up a bit. "Sure. I entered this big cooking contest back in my home village, but lacked the proper training and ruined my first dish. After losing, I just sat in my room thinking about what I did wrong. So, I spoke with my mom and she helped me get better with my cooking skills. And I continued to get better with everything with cooking as I continued to learn what there was to know, leading me to be the best cook I am now." Rayona explained. "Do you think you could teach me a few things?" The young man asked. "Sure." Rayona said. For the next few moments, Rayona gave the young man some pointers on cooking, showing him the right combinations of spices and sauces, and even about proper cooking temperatures. Afterwards, she helped him gather his cooking supplies and pack them up in his bag. "And remember, cooking is also a form of art. You remember that, and you'll be on your way to become a great chef." Rayona said. "Thank you." The young man said. He gives Rayona an emotional hug before heading on his way. "That was a very nice thing, Ray." Sherman said, patting Rayona's shoulder. "Thanks. I had to help him. I could see his potential. And I just helped him see it." Rayona said. Horace looked at her in amazement, never knowing how caring she truly was. "Hey, guys, we better get going. The team's probably already at Centrico Plaza by now." Spinner said. With that in agreement, they continued on to Centrico Plaza.
Meanwhile, back at Glace Rink Park, Talia was skating happily as she was finally getting the hang of it thanks to Ivan. "You're doing great, Talia!" Ivan called, who was not far behind. "Thanks! I'm really getting the hang of it and I'm loving it!" Talia called back. But suddenly, she lost her footing and caused her to fall on her back. Just then, at that moment, Ivan tripped and landed on Talia as they slid across the ice rink and stopped at the guarding wall of the dome. "Talia, are you okay?" Ivan asked with a groan. But as they looked at each other…their faces were very close. They stared at each other for a few moments before standing up, feeling a bit awkward. "Uh…I think…we…should head for…Centrico Park. The team's…probably…already there." Talia stuttered. "Yeah. Good idea." Ivan agreed with an awkward tone. So, after they changed their ice skates back to their civilian shoes, they exited out of the Glace Rink Park and started making their way to Centrico Park. Though, while on the way, Talia felt her heart pounding a bit hard after their little 'accident' at the ice rink. She started thinking that she may have developed a crush on Ivan.
Meanwhile, back at Sakura Picnic Park, Zoom, Grace and Zen were strolling around the park, watching the beautiful sightseeing of all the cherry blossom trees. "I love it here." Grace said as she was eating a strawberry ice cream she got from an ice cream stand. Sakura Picnic Park has several food stands all over for people and visitors to buy food for additions to their picnics. "Yeah, this park has cool sightseeing." Zoom said, eating a corndog. "Fountains, ponds with aquatic creatures, and lots of other stuff too." "There's also some cool rides too, like those go-karts we just drove on." Zen said, eating a chocolate bar. Suddenly, there was a scream for help. They looked over to see some people gathered around a large cherry blossom tree. "I wonder what's going on?" Grace asked. "I don't know. But judging by the people's emotions through their auras, they're very worried and scared." Zoom said. "Why?" Grace asked. "Look up there!" Zen gasped in shock when he looked up the cherry blossom tree. Zoom and Grace looked up and gasped in shock at what they're seeing. On the very top of the cherry blossom tree…was a little girl around 9-years-old trying to reach for a small grey kitten, who was hissing at her. "Kitty, it's not safe for you to be up here all alone. I'm here to help." The little girl said. The kitten felt hesitant before coming over to the little girl's reached out hand, nuzzling it with a purr. The little girl smiled at this, but it was short-lived as the branch she and the kitten were on suddenly broke off, causing them to fall! The people down below yelled and screamed in horror. "That little girl and kitten are falling!" Grace shouted in a panic. Reacting fast, Zoom looked around and saw a nearby slender cherry blossom tree, giving him an idea. He ran towards it and jumped on it, causing it to bend a bit before it launched him flying into the air like a springboard. [Slow Motion] The little girl screams in terror as she holds the kitten in her arms as they fall toward the ground. But then, Zoom grabbed her and landed safely on the ground. [Normal Motion] "Are you 2 okay?" Zoom asked as he stood up straight. "Yeah, I'm okay." The little girl said, feeling a little shaken from the fall. The kitten meowed in agreement.
Just then, Grace, Zen and the people raced over to them as Zoom set the little girl and the kitten down. Everyone was cheering for Zoom's heroic act. The little girl's parents rushed up to their daughter and hugged her. "Young lady, how many times have we told you not to climb up the trees?! That's the very strict rule of Sakura Picnic Park!" The mother scolded. "It's okay, ma'am. Your daughter was trying to save this little kitten." Zoom said. The kitten meowed in confirmation. "Well, thank you for saving our daughter's life. And this little kitten's life too." The father said, shaking Zoom's hand. With the situation over, everyone went off in different directions to continue their day in the park. The little girl gave Zoom a happy wave with the kitten in her other arm, which he waved back. After the little girl and the kitten left with her parents, Grace and Zen walked up to Zoom. "You did a great job saving that little girl and kitten from falling to their death, Zoom." Grace said. "Oh, it was nothing. I did it because I can't allow their lives to end so soon." Zoom said. Grace and Zen smiled at that. "Anyway, we should head for Centrico Plaza. The team's probably waiting for us there." Zoom said. With that, the 3 exited Sakura Picnic Park and started heading their way to Centrico Plaza.
It took some time as the team regrouped. As they arrived at Centrico Plaza, they stood in front of the mall, the Prism Tower. They stared in awe to see how tall the mall was. "That mall looks so cool and amazing." Spinner said. "Let's go in." Horace said, ready to go in. "Wait. We gotta wait for Vert and Olivia. They're not here yet." Sherman said, stopping Horace in his tracks. Just then, on cue as he said that, the Wheeler siblings came running up to their team. "Hey, guys." Olivia greeted. "Sorry we took so long. Liv and I were talking to an old friend of our dad's and lost track of time." Vert said. "That's okay. We just got here before you arrived." Agura said. "So, where are we going to eat?" Stanford asked. "There's tons of restaurants and cafés inside the Prism Tower. We'll be having dinner up at the very top of the tower. There's a famous restaurant called 'Le Beauty of Garcia'. I booked us a reservation, saving us a table." Olivia explained. "The restaurant is owned by a famous billionaire family, the Garcias." Vert explained. Stanford was stunned as he heard that name before. "I've heard of the Garcias. Their beauties are extraordinary and are known to own several restaurants, cafés, companies and much, much more." He explained. "I've heard about the Garcias too." Agura said. "Yeah, me too." Talia said. "I've always wondered how the Garcias do so well with helping people around the world by their kindness and generosity." Spinner said. "And with treating animals and Mother Nature herself." Sherman added.
Later, the team entered the Prism Tower. As they started walking through the mall and passing by several customers, they were in awe to see several kinds of famous stores and shops, selling many expensive clothing outfits, jewelries and more items displaying at their window shops. "It's been so long since I went to different kinds of malls during my 3 years travel when I ran away from home. But this, the mall tower, is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life." Stanford said. Then, the team came up to an elevator. "This elevator will take us right to the top where Le Beauty of Garcia is located." Vert said. He pushed the button and the doors slide open, allowing the team to enter. Vert then pushed the top floor button and the doors slide closed. The elevator went up, heading towards the very top. "Alright, guys, once we reach the top, we'll be able to see the entire view of Lumiose City." Olivia said. As the elevator reached the top, the doors slide open and the team exited out of it. Then, they saw the entire view of the entire city, leaving them amazed. It was now evening and the lights shined brightly all over the entire city. "This view is so beautiful. I now understand why the city is called the City of Lights." Talia said. The Wheelers then led the team to the restaurant and took their seats. Just then, a waiter walked up them. "Welcome to Le Beauty of Garcia. Here are your menus." He greeted as he handed the team their menus. They looked at their menus and decided on what they wanted to order. After placing their orders, the team gave the menus back to the waiter as he walked away.
As they waited, they started talking. But their conversation got interrupted by a waitress screaming in terror. "Oh, my goodness! A plane is on fire!" She yelled. Alerted, the team looked outside the window view and saw a plane flying by the tower with one of its jet wings ablaze as one of the engines lost power and burst into flames. "That plane's gonna crash into the city!" Ivan cried in horror. "And the passengers will die if that happens!" Stanford exclaimed, remembering the day his parents died from their plane crash. Before they could take action, Olivia noticed that Vert was gone. "Huh?! Where's Vert?!" She asked. She looked behind her and saw Vert running towards the Fire Exit. "Vert, where are you going?!" She shouted. "Going for a flight!" Vert said quickly as he exited through the Fire Exit. "I hope you know what you're doing, V." Olivia said with worry as she watched out the window view.
Once he was outside, Vert stood on the viewing platform and looked over to see the plane just lost another engine and burst into flames on the left wing. Seeing this and reacting fast, Vert jumped off the platform. As he fell, he sprouted his Crimson Wings and immediately took flight into the air and went after the plane. Inside the plane, the passengers were in full panic as the flight attendants were trying to calm them down. "Please remain calm! Everything's under control!" One of the attendants said over the intercom. Inside the cockpit, the pilots tried to regain control, but it was no use as they just lost control of the plane. Outside, as Vert was catching up to the plane, one of the flaming engines broke off from the wing and headed towards him! "WHOA!" Vert yelled as he shielded himself with his arms just as the engine hit him and shattered into debris. Down below, many people saw what was happening and were worried. Back in the night sky, Vert shook off the impact from the engine before continuing to chase after the plane. As he finally caught up with the plane, he flew underneath it and started pushing upward with all his strength. Inside the cockpit, the pilots noticed the plane changing direction and veering away from the city. They were confused at what was happening. Suddenly, Vert saw that the Lumiose Bridge was in the way! "Oh, come on!" He exclaimed.
Vert quickly repositioned himself and gripped the plane with his bare hands to make it tilt. As the plane was getting so close to the bridge, Vert yelled with all his might and managed to make the plane tilt on time as it flew between the gap! Witnesses on the bridge, watching from within their cars, were stunned to see that. Vert repositioned the plane and landed it perfectly in the water. The passengers, flight attendants and pilots recovered from the landing and all cheer as they were saved. Vert resurfaced from the water, his Crimson Wings were gone after making contact with the water after landing. He climbed up the plane's right wing and stood up as lights from helicopters shined down on him. The passengers saw him through the windows, immediately took out their phones and started taking pictures and videos of their savior. But suddenly, among the passengers, Molly McGrath and Amelia Ferrus saw him through their window. They were on a business trip when the disaster happened. They were stunned to see him, all grown up, and was the one who saved them and everyone else. Vert, who didn't even notice them, sees several rescue boats coming towards the plane. Seeing that as the time to go, Vert sprouted his Crimson Wings again and flew away, out of sight. "How are we gonna tell Max and the quintuplets about this?" Molly asked. "I don't know, Molly. I do not know." Amelia said.
Later, back at the Prism Tower, inside Le Beauty of Garcia, the team was cheering for Vert for saving the plane, having witnessed everything. Olivia looked over and saw Vert re-enter the restaurant through the Fire Exit, looking soaking wet. "Vert!" She cheered as she ran up to him, followed by the team, and gave him a big hug, ignoring the wetness. "You did it, Vert!" She cheered. "You saved the plane!" Spinner cheered. "And you saved all those people!" Sherman cheered. "Oh, it was nothing, and yet, so hard." Vert said. "Oh, and Vert? Why are you soaking wet?" Olivia asked. "I dove in the water after saving the plane. I should dry up fast before I catch a cold." Vert said.
Later, a few hours after, the team returned to Handler's Corners after their dinner at Le Beauty of Garcia. When they returned to the Hub, they told Sage and the others about what happened at Lumiose City, which they were stunned to hear it. Later, the next morning, they were doing their daily routines in the Hub and preparing for the next Battle Zone. Just then, Spinner rushed in. "Guys! You gotta see the news!" He exclaimed. Noting how urgent he sounded, the team headed over to the living room and saw the news report on TV. "And in Lumiose News, a plane caught fire and nearly crashed in the city yesterday. But luckily, some brave hero with strange wings flew in and saved the day." The reporter said as he showed pictures and videos taken by the passengers. But luckily, they were all blurry so they couldn't identify him. But the team knew that it was Vert who was the savior. "Whew! It's a good thing all those pictures and videos were so blurry, otherwise they would've identified me." Vert said. "No kidding. If they had, they would find you and question you." Olivia said. "And I don't want to get crowded by fans. Or even the authorities. From now on, I'm keeping a low profile if there's any sort of danger." Vert said.
Wow! Wasn't that amazing?! Taking a break from their mission, Battle Force 10 drive out to Lumiose City for the day. Upon arriving, the team split into separate groups to explore the different districts of the city. Along the way, they helped out with several problems in their chosen districts. A while later, after meeting up at the Prism Tower for dinner, a plane caught fire and was about to go down. Vert managed to save the plane, but was recognized by 2 familiar passengers, Molly McGrath and Amelia Ferrus. What other cities will Battle 10 visit in the future?
