A splash was made in the waters of Watatsumi Island, and the source came from Aether, dressed in black and gold swim trunks, doing a dive to get in the water before swimming back up to catch his breath.
He smiled to look at the beautiful night sky that is quiet and peaceful. No enemies around to cause trouble or any natural disasters to ruin whatever he is doing.
But his current activity soon became clear when Aether heard someone else diving into the water without warning.
Aether smiled as he went back into the water to find the source.
With luck, he managed to see none other than the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, Sangonomiya Kokomi. She is dressed in a blue and pink two-piece bikini with some white laces, her hair still styled in a ponytail, and most surprisingly wears some kind of pale pink tailcoat that is designed like the lower body of a mermaid, including the tail.
Aether looked very impressed to see such beauty; he almost imagined to see a real-life mermaid.
He and Kokomi were spending this night together because he wanted to help Kokomi take a day off from her duties and find someway to relive the immense stress she's been going through lately. Doing swimming is something the Traveler would love to do with her.
Aether finds Kokomi beautiful and kind. Always thinking of her people and trying to shoulder all the responsibilities even if that causes her immense stress. He can understand the burden more than anyone and sometimes wishes he could do more after all that they've been through in Inazuma.
Little does he know, Kokomi really feels the same way. He is like her: kind-hearted, always looking out for others, and incredibly good-looking. She worries about the burdens he carries and doesn't even know what he's been through on his adventures. She secretly wishes to travel the world with him, but couldn't abandon her responsibilities, which aches her heart. But his presence alone gets her motivated whenever she's down.
Back in reality, Aether smiled as he swam after Kokomi, who wanted to play with the Traveler in an exciting game of swim tag. The two were swimming side-to-side with Aether tried to catch up and tag her, but Kokomi was quicker than he expected and swam with a butterfly motion that got her a great distance.
Kokomi giggled in the water, which Aether appreciate a challenge. The two continued their tag of swim for a while, and while Kokomi proves to be tough in the water, Aether wouldn't give up that easily.
He swam after her again in freestyle. Kokomi predicted he attempted to do the same thing as usual, and tried to do her butterfly to swim the opposite way, but Aether was this time quicker and instead of tagging her with a touch, he gripped her hand and pulled her in for a kiss on the lips, taking a now blushing red Divine Priestess by surprise.
Lasting for only a minute and a half because he needs to resurface for air, he let go and immediately swam back up.
Though she was flustered, she smiled at knowing he loves her and followed suit.

Now the two are on land, they laid down on a white large blanket close to each other, hands holding their waists and their heads close.
"You really outsmarted me, dear Captain." Kokomi commented.
"You were't easy, so I had to think outside the box." Aether explained.
Kokomi giggled. "Why don't we call this your win for today."
Aether didn't argue and leaned in to give Kokomi another kiss, which the latter returned with passion, holding onto each other as they continued their lovely embrace under the night sky together.
"Kiss with Swordfish Captain. Energy +100." Kokomi thought, making a mental note to add this day to her journal.

In the distance, Paimon and Gorou were watching the whole time with their little excuse of protecting them from monsters, giving the thumbs up to see their date went smoothly.
Sorry if this one's a little shorter than the usual 1K words of my one-shots. Trying to not make them too long; want to "capture the moment". But it was fun doing an Aether x Kokomi fic. I really loved Kokomi and how the presence of the Traveler always get her back to 100% of her energy (like in her Story Quest there was her journal with the most interesting written piece "Swordfish Captain came back today. Energy +4"). There was very little of this ship on FanFiction compared to AO3, so I helped myself.
