Day 5 - 12: 12: 12
"Ducktor's" Infirmary - Room 7, Tun
Simon "Ghost" Riley
Unaffiliated
In the air-conditioned, blind covered room, a 6'2 skeleton/man stood, covered in military gear not originating from the land he was currently in, in said room the skeleton/man had a hand on his head, confusion clearly emanating from the posture he had, disbelief coursed through him.
What a way to start the day.
What the bloody hell was Roach doing on the floor anyways? Was he trying to be a Roach er… be more of a Roach? If that was the case, then his transformation had one more side effect added to his personal observations.
"Bloody hell…" Ghost muttered.
Whatever the case his original goal was postponed right now, resting peacefully on the bed was said goal, with gear removed and placed to the side of the room, modesty covered by a simple concrete coloured shirt and cargo pants, mandibles clicking with each breath escaping and entering.
Ghost sighed softly.
He'd tell Roach later, there wasn't anything urgent anyways, and so dropping to the floor faced opposite of the bed, Ghost performed an angel sit, and rested his back against the bed frame. "Closing" his eyes with darkness swallowing his vision.
Day 5 - 12: 12: 12
Rainbow Hotel, Room 500
Qrow Branwen
Valean Huntsman
"You let him do what."
"It was a library, kid! A library! I mean… who does that?"
Inside Room 500, on a king sized bed covered with a grey fur blanket that covered 3\4's of it, sat Qrow's mission, one of the many jobs he had to manage.
Amber, the Fall Maiden.
Amber Bartholemew - The Fall Maiden
[Voiced by: Laura Bailey]
Legs crossed in an angel sit, the maiden was wearing a simple brown pyjama with a leaf pattern spread all over it, currently she maintained a befuddled expression on the Crow named huntsman, disbelief clear in her voice.
Qrow on the other hand shared no such feelings, standing up, face a lousy calm, his iconic silver flask gripped in hand right calloused hand, cap open and missing with its alcoholic scent leaking, Qrow took a swig from his flask before raising an eyebrow.
"What kid? It was a library."
Amber raised her eyebrows even more.
Qrow realising that the kid wasn't getting any of this, then continued to explain animatedly the hilariousness he encountered.
With a raise of his free hand, Qrow shouted.
"He didn't even steal anything! and if he did! well… it's not like it was anything valuable".
"Qrow!..." Replied Amber, slapping her hands onto her thighs resulting in a loud fleshy noise, voiced exasperated at Qrow's reponse.
"What?" Reciprocated Qrow, genuinely confused.
"It was funny."
"Oh for-"
Amber sighed, before placing a hand to her forehead.
"Qrow…" she began.
"If someone were to break into your house, wouldn't you be distressed?"
"Well yeah. Obviously." Qrow replied in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Okay…" Amber then slapped her hands together, before bringing them up to her mouth, breathing in deeply.
"Kid where are you going with this-"
"Qrow" began Amber pointendently.
"If you knew- or even saw someone breaking into your house-"
Amber paused, before muttering something to the side.
"If you even have a house…"
"Hey…" Replied an offended Qrow.
"Not sorry." Returned Amber with a poked out tongue.
"Brat." Said Qrow, before taking a swig.
"Anyways!" Shouted Amber with a dramatic wave, ignoring the comment and continuing on.
"If you saw someone breaking into your house Qrow, you'd stop them?"
"Right Qrow?" Emphasised Amber as she narrowed her eyes.
"Kid, I already said yes." Lazily replied Qrow taking a swig after.
"Okay. We understand that." Concluded Amber with a nod.
Qrow took another swig from his flask.
"SO THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP HIM QROW!"
"AHHHH MY EEAAARSSSSSSS!"
The unexpected increase in volume caused Qrow to stumble backwards, drink spilling a bit onto the carpeted hotel floor, Amber noticed this and looked downwards.
"Oh."
Qrow placed a finger into his ear, rotating it as he did so, before pulling it back out. The Huntsman then noticed the maiden was looking downwards, following the direction of her gaze Qrow spotted a darker spot in the black carpet, Qrow then glanced towards his flask, realisation slowly creeping into a conclusion all summarised with a simple:
"Oh."
A beat of silence occured.
A vacuuming silence formed, the inhalation and exhalation of both parties in the room could be heard due to the immense silence, both continued to stare at the darker spot.
And then Qrow spoke once more.
"Not my problem."
Amber looked up at the huntsman, breaking out of her staring contest with the black carpet, before awkwardly agreeing.
"…True."
"Anyways, What was that for Kid?!" Shouted Qrow, exasperated, afterwards he took a swig from his flask
Amber flinched before a wave of confusion entered her features.
"What? What do you mean?"
"Why'd you try to give me tinnitus, kid?!" Followed by a swig.
"Huh?"
"Why'd you shout at me?!" Followed by another.
"Oh! Well because you let someone break into a library Qrow!"
"I keep telling you kid it was funny! And it was a library! Seriously library's aren't valuable." And another one.
"Wha-" Amber did a spit take, before a look of eureka occured, understanding more of Qrow now, ignoring the revelation Amber continued.
"Qrow knowledge is valuable." Said Amber in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Kid I don't disagree with you there but the book, if he even stole one, can be easily replaced. And plus it was probably a history book." And another one.
"We have tons of those." And another one.
"Even if that was the case Qrow, it shouldn't have been allowed in the first place, you should have stopped him, in fact you should even report the guy to the local authorities! If he's even still here..."
"For a stolen book? Seriously?" And another one.
"Wha- Th- Why- Qrow the guy stole something! It didn't matter what he stole, he just stole and that's bad."
"If it's valuable, then yeah." Rebuked Qrow, before another sip entered his mouth.
"Oh for-"
Qrow raised his flask hand, before noticing this and raising his free hand instead.
"Enough kid, this whole discussion is dumb."
"You're dumb." Snarked Amber childishly.
Qrow widened his eyes at the unexpected retort, slacked jawed at the childish reponse, in shock he was unable to retort smartly and replied with an instinctual response.
"No you." Returned Qrow.
"NO YOUR DUMB!" Pointed Amber.
Qrow raised a finger, wagging it. "NUH UH KID, YOUR THE ONE WHO STARTED THE ARGUMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE!"
"YOUR THE ONE WHO DIDN'T STOP HIM FROM BREAKING IN! YOUR THE DUMB ONE QROW! AND YOU'RE A HUNTSMAN!"
"NO YOU!"
"NO QROW! YOU!!!!" Bellowed out Amber.
Qrow gasped dramatically, free hand placed onto his chest, he grit his teeth.
Amber smirked a toothy grin.
In unison both their eyes narrowed, a feeling of fury pumping in their blood, both took in a great breath before:
"NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU! NO YOU!"
"NO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And so the barrage stopped, both needing to take in a breather after shouting accusations at the other for a minute straight.
Heavy breaths filled the room.
Amber laughed.
Qrow followed suit.
Hearty genuine laughs spilled out from both the Huntsman and Maiden, a snort from Amber and wheeze from Qrow.
The laughter continued, Qrow was beginning to wheeze longer and awkwardly between laughs, the sight caused Amber to snort harder and increase the severity of her laugh.
Qrow was coughing now with the coughs interrupted by a wheezing laugh, Amber laughed even more, a hand on her belly with the remaining one pointing at Qrow.
With the intense coughs and wheezes of Qrow came more spillage from his flask, spilling down onto the carpet once again, Qrow's eyes widened pointing down at the carpet with another wheezing laugh.
Amber saw this and the severity of her laughs was now astronomical, like Qrow she was coughing with a wheezing laugh as well, tears now filled both the Huntsman and Maiden's eyes.
"My cheeks… HAHAH! My cheeks hurt!" Shouted Amber, the intense laughs causing her cheeks to hurt from how much she smiled.
"Same here! Heh! Kid!"
Eventually the laughter died down, with the occasional burst laughter coming by once or twice. Amber muttered an "ow" as the pain of her cheeks was much more prominent without the laughter. Groaning, Amber placed both hands on her cheeks and massaged them. Qrow did the same, placing the flask into his pocket as he did so.
"Well that was… dumb."
"Definitely kiddo."
Qrow sighed.
"Well… I should be going, I need to report to the big man and all."
Amber perked her head.
"Oh! Oh yeah, right…"
"You sound disappointed."
"No. I just forgot you're just here to check on me."
Qrow walked up to the sitting maiden, upon nearing her, he placed a head on her head, Amber did nothing to dissuade the man.
"Stay safe alright kiddo?" Said Qrow, patting her head.
Amber scoffed, closing her eyes as she did so.
"Of course, I'm the maiden, I'm invincible."
Qrow narrowed his eyes. Stopping the head pats.
"Kid."
Amber spoke in a more serious tone.
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry alright?"
Qrow snorted.
"It's my job to worry."
"Hm."
Walking backwards to the window of the room, Qrow moved a latch, unlocking it and opening the window as he did so, he turned around, the sound of bullheads flying caused him to look upwards.
He saw two pass by.
"Looks like it's another region sweep."
Qrow turned around, staring into the maiden's brown eyes.
"Remember kiddo, stay safe, nobody would like it if you were hurt."
Qrow disappeared, what took his place was a crow, the crow leapt and flew outwards.
Disappearing into the sunny sky.
