Hello everyone, we start 2024 with a new fanfic of High School DxD with a franchise that should get more collaborations but for some reason it doesn't. So here is the deal, I love Yu Yu Hakusho and I binge watch the whole thing when the world was with COVID. I watched bits and bits when I was a kid, but as an adult I finally understood why is regarded as a masterpiece. Now a days we learned that Togashi has a lot of troubles with this series, it was when he was still early in his career and wanted to do different things and Shueisha didn't let him, one thing I don't agree is him not liking Yusuke, I don't remember why but maybe it's a creator thing.
Edit April 2024: I wanted to put this with a big batch of stories after I graduate from my Masters, I have this done since January and I decided to publish now. I hope you all enjoy, and I might come back around May or June.
High School DxD like I always mention has a ton of good opportunities and world building and is wasted in a character that I hate. So here is going to happen, Yusuke will be in the main spotlight, Issei is around but I won't be using him for much later, in fact he doesn't even study at Kuoh or ever meet Irina. Just telling you all, also Yusuke is not the red dragon Emperor, telling this.
The idea is mostly to give a modern take on DxD Hakusho, which is a great fic even if had two chapters. Unfortunately, it was never updated since 2012 and the author never gave a notification, I guess they tried fanfic and couldn't handle the whole thing, like a bunch of people trying blogging and other stuff.
My main difference from that other fic is that Botan and Keiko will be present, I don't know if they were supposed to be in that fic also, like was Keiko supposed to be in Irina place on the Exaclibur arc? I don't know. Well, lets start this thing off.
In Japan
Yusuke Urameshi was a high school delinquent, he was known as a boy you don't want to mess with in certain areas of Kuoh. He was known for getting into fights, causing havoc and pretty much being a scary individual. In other school he was knew as some kind of Urban Legend, but in reality he was a regular guy and one that would change the world some day.
He know enters his school, Kuoh Academy which is one of the top ten best school in Japan. In fact this school became something different, Kuoh Academy originally an all girls school, but now it became a co-ed with the majority of its student still being female. Only the students who passed the accepted exam would get to study in Kuoh and for some miracle Yusuke passed, he didn't even tried much in school, he just did the basic and had enough grades to pass, he didn't even knew what he would do after graduate, probably get some boring job in the streets and continuing to live with his mom who receives money from some ´´jobs´´.
Yusuke had already caused some ruckus in Kuoh Academy, getting into fight with students, teachers, smoking near the school, disrespecting authority. Overall Yusuke Urameshi was a downright not great student.
''They are probably waiting for me to grab my ear. Like hell I am going to fall for that.'' Said Yusuke with the typic Male Kuoh Academy uniform, only his had a green jacket over the usual black one, something he modified himself.
The teen knew all the ways in and out of the main areas of the school, so he went on the back and found the ladder to the roof, its usually used more for fire emergencies but Yusuke doesn't care for that. He was going to lay down on the rooftop and relax.
Once there he grabbed some cigarettes and started to smoke, just there alone and with nothing to worry about it.
''Man, I wish I could spend the whole day like this.'' Said Yusuke enjoying his cigarette when suddenly.
''There you are!'' Scream a girl coming there.
The girl was Yusuke childhood friend Keiko Yukimura, they knew each other since they were little kids. Yusuke growled up to be a trouble teen while Keiko became pretty much a role model student, perfect grades and everything. Despite all that she looked after Yusuke like if she was a nanny or something else.
''Oh, hey Keiko.'' Said Yusuke not caring.
''Smoking again! And you didn't even changed your shoes! And the rooftop ladder is only used for emergencies and not for someone to goof off! Stop smoking and come with me! Teacher Takenaka is trying to talk with you, but you never answers back, Student President Souna is also trying to reach you! I tried telling them you only come to school once in a while, but they don't believe me! So come now!'' Said Keiko all annoyed with Yusuke behavior.
''Wah! I know! I know! Jesus you never stop!'' Said Yusuke.
''Serious Yusuke! This is like one of your last chances, the only reason of why you´re still in Kuoh is because I keep saying you will change. I don't know why they even believe me, I am thinking of staying away from you.'' Said Keiko.
''Fine I will go. Annoying girl.'' Said him.
''Ok, just follow me and…'' Said Keiko all firm but Yusuke had to ruined it.
The teen lifted the short skirt that the Kuoh Female uniform had and saw Keiko panties.
''Wow! Are those the same panties from last year?! You are really struggling girl.'' Said Yusuke and that got him a slap in the face.
Smack
''You jerk! Sexual harassment is the one thing we don't tolerate in this school! I should toss you from this roof!'' Scream Keiko to Yusuke who was just smirking with his bloody face.
The girl just growled for a moment, she didn't know why Yusuke was still like this. He should have grown a little bit, but Yusuke never changed.
''That low life! I shouldn't even try but I guess I am stuck with you so lets…'' Said Keiko turning her face to see Yusuke, only to see that the punk had ran off.
''He escaped!'' Scream Keiko annoyed.
Soon two more girls entered in the rooftop, one had long white hair and another had brown hair with a blue headband.
''Keiko time is up.'' Said the girl with white hair.
''Kaicho is waiting on Urameshi-kun.'' Said the brown haired girl.
''Momo-chan, Reya-chan!'' Said Keiko in shock.
''Is he with you?" Asked Momo.
''No, he escaped again.'' Said Keiko looking at the ladder in anger.
The girls looked at that in disbelief, the punk Yusuke Urameshi was so committed in dodging responsibility that he was willing to risk his life. Those two were members of the Student Council of Kuoh Academy, a group Keiko was doing a internship to see if she could get in.
''Seriously Keiko-chan, why do you even try making that punk come to school?" Asked Momo.
''Yeah, I think we would be safe if he stayed out.'' Said Reya.
''Look, I know he is a lot of things but Yusuke a bad guy, a bit perve but he doesn't go hiding in the girl's locker room like those two perverts.'' Said Keiko.
''I don't know. That might be true, but he could be a lot worse.'' Said Reya.
''What do you mean?" Asked Keiko.
''I heard rumors that a lot of people in other schools are after his head and that three of Japan highest Yakuza are fighting to recruit him. Also that he has 2000 minions under his thumb.'' Said Reya.
''that's basically all rumors! I mean he may seem like he fight every day and has suspicious characters entering and exiting his house every day, but…'' Said Keiko.
''that's scary!'' Said the two.
After a long breath the girls kept talking.
''Keiko why do you keep helping him? When he got accepted a bunch of students started to hire bodyguards because of his reputation.'' Said Momo.
''I know he is your childhood friend, but you don't have to take responsibly.'' Said Reya.
''I don't know, maybe because I am scared of what might happen to him if I let him alone. The only other person who was his friend that is not me doesn't live in Japan anymore, so its up to me to try make him graduate high school. I feel like…. if I do this I would feel much better.'' Said her being honest which surprised the other girls.
''Well if that's your goal than go ahead.'' Said Momo.
''But you will have to explain yourself to sensei and to Souna-san.'' Said Reya.
''I know.'' Said Keiko all defeated as the girls went to talk with their superior.
At the teachers room.
Student Council President Souna Sitri was with her Vice President Tsubaki, also with them was the teacher Takenaka who wanted to speak with Yusuke, however upon looking at the clock it was clear that the Student Council members didn't managed to grab the infamous student.
''Souna-chan, I guess your girls failed again.'' Said Takenaka a bit tired.
''Sorry sensei, we will try harder to bring Urameshi kun. Tsubaki go make an announcement.'' Said the Student Council president to her VP.
''Yes kaicho.'' Said the long haired girl going to the microphone.
Outside
Yusuke was in the fields of Kuoh Academy, just wondering what he should do now. He wanted some cash and quick, while there he heard the announcement.
''Yusuke Urameshi report to the teacher's room! Yusuke Urameshi reports to the teachers room!''
''Like hell I am going to that! Stop wasting your breath woman!'' Said Yusuke to the speaker as if they could hear.
As he was walking by the school he heard some voice coming from the bushes.
''Uh?" Asked Yusuke.
''Seriously! You got that much!'' Said some sikcing voice.
Yusuke recognized those voices, they belonged to Motohama and Matsuda, the biggest perverts in all of Kuoh. They were known as the ´´Pervert Duo´´, there was also a pervert girl in this school but she didn't like to be associated with those two. Yusuke doesn't like to be near those two, yes he might like to see some porno in a while, but he is not an obsessive freak like those two who measure the girls boobs and spy on them in the shower. Matsuda was a disgusting guy who always walked around with a camera taking pictures of the girls without their permission, always focusing on their breasts and butts. Motohama was no better either, he apparently found a way to know girls boobs size just by looking and he took note of every girl size from the entire school.
Yusuke hated those two with his guts. He once caught them spying on Keiko while she was on the school shower, and he gave them a death threat. Right now, they seemed to be arguing about some porno that they just watch.
''Look at these new models that they have. Such nice bust and detailed butts! They know what they are doing.'' Said Matsuda looking at a catalog for hentai dolls.
''Yes, they are truly a work of art. I have enough money to buy just 8 of them, my parents will question why most of my money went but I can play it cool for now.'' Said Motohama.
Yusuke didn't know why he got into more trouble than these two. He get into fight and that was normal, those two were sexual predators in the making.
''What time is right now my friend?" Asked Matsuda.
''Is time for the Kendo team shower.'' Said Motohmaa.
''Oh yes! I can't wait to see those girls again! I need some new shots of Maruyama and Katase! They are such hoties! One has such nice jiggly boobies and the other has an amazng ass, I don't know which pic I use tonight!'' Said Matsuda with a sick smile.
''Got their size decorated and ready to review it. I guess their breasts grow a little bit over the weekend, I need to make sure. When it comes to breast sizes I need to check on them weekly.'' Said Motohama.
''Yes, this is very important. I love being part of this school.'' Said Matsuda.
''They should arrive at any minute in the bathroom. We should go.'' Said Motohama looking at his watch.
''Oh good! Let's go to the usual spot.'' Said Matsuda getting his camera.
''And what if they catch us?" Asked Motohama.
''We can tell them Yusuke Urameshi sent us. That will shut them off and we can continue our fun and…'' Said Matsuda when suddenly Yusuke slapped the wall hard, pretty much hovering over the two losers.
BAM
''Hi.'' Said Yusuke all over the two with a creepy smile, that was enough to make the two wet themselves.
''AAAAH!'' Scream the two.
''What are you two doing here? Hiding from the others? What about some social interaction?" Asked Yusuke with a smirk as he gets more menacing.
''Please! Don't hurt us! We didn't look at Yukimura again. Here you can have this!'' Said Matsuda giving the magazine and pictures to Yusuke who just bashed off.
''Do I want your jacking off material?!'' Said Yusuke pissed.
''Uh what do you want?" Asked Motohama scared.
''Well…I heard that you two were going to use my name, right?" Asked Yusuke making the two shake even more.
''What…are…you going to do?" Asked Matsuda shaking.
''Give me 500 yens that I will let it pass.'' Said Yusuke opening his hand with a smirk.
The two perverts didn't know why he asked for this, they thought he was going to demand a lot more but I guess Yusuke just wanted some quick cash at the moment.
''Thanks!'' Said Yusuke laughing as he goes off.
''Man, for a second, I thought I was going to get beaten to near death.' Said Motohama.
''Oh no that's coming later. HEY!'' Said Yusuke screaming to someone.
''Uh?" Asked the two.
Soon the person who Yusuke was screaming appeared, the entire Kendo team who were constant victims of the Pervert Duos. They all had their swords and they looked pissed.
''So that's where you two were hiding!'' Scream Muruyama pissed.
''Get ready for some justifying violence!'' Said Katase all pissed.
''AAAAAH!'' Scream the two as they get some punishment.
Yusuke just watched from a distance the two perverts getting beaten, that stuff for him was funnier than the movies that were on the cinema at the moment.
''Man, I wish I had some popcorn with this! Shits too funny.'' Said Yusuke laughing having a good time when suddenly someone big appeared behind him.
''Stop right there!'' Said Takenaka sensei who appeared and delivered a punch in Yusuke skull.
BAM
The punch didn't cause any major damage, but it was an annoyance for sure, Yusuke looked and saw his teacher there looking annoyed at him.
''You rascal! Is this the legacy that you want to leave behind when you graduate?" Asked Takenaka annoyed with Yusuke.
''Those two are worse than me and I get into trouble?" Asked Yusuke pointing at the two perverts getting beaten.
''Matsuda and Motohama will be dealt with later, at least they come to class and have enough reason to keep them here. You! I don't know what to do with you!'' Said Takenaka annoyed.
''Well, I might not feel that great to go school today, I think I am going home.'' Said Yusuke but Takenaka wasn't having that.
''Oh no! I am not letting you go at the moment; you and I are going to the teacher room and talk about your performance. You are truly the worst Yusuke Urameshi.'' Said Takenaka.
''Fine! If you can get off my back than lets do this crap.'' Said Yusuke annoyed.
''Now let's go!'' Said Takenaka grabbing Yusuke by the ear.
''Ouch! Watch the ear.'' Said Yusuke in pain.
''We might as well spent an hour or two in my office. I will talk with your teachers later. Let's have some tea and start with your first year and…'' Said Takenaka when he suddenly felt a weird sound.
POP
Before Takenaka could scream, he saw it was a rubber ear, he didn't know how but Yusuke managed to get away.
''What are you a ninja!?" Asked the teacher in shock.
''Hey, you said people needs skill to survive. I have mine goodbye!'' Said Yusuke running off.
''What! Wait we have to talk about your future.'' Said Takenaka.
''I have passing grades! I can get a job anywhere once I graduate! Goodbye and stop calling my home!'' Said Yusuke with a smirk as he ran off and jumps the fence of Kuoh Acamdey.
''While you…remember that attendance is important. If you continue with this, you will get expelled! You are warned Urameshi!'' Scream Takenaka.
The teacher might be angry, but he knows Yusuke has potential. He is only the teacher who believes in Yusuke future, just like Keiko. However not even the own Yusuke Urameshi believe that he has any chance into the working world, he just lays off and do what he can.
With Yusuke.
The punk ran off to his home which was a modest one. To this day he doesn't know how his mom could afford this place since she doesn't have a regular job. It was a two store one with a basement where it was also a gym where Yusuke worked out.
''I´m home!'' Said Yusuke.
As he gets inside, he saw his mother still in pajamas watching TV on the couch with a cigarette in her mouth. His mother's name is Atsuko Urameshi and she has long dark brown hair and was too young to be his mother, the reason for that is that she had Yusuke much early in her life when she was a teen, some would even think she was Yusuke older sister.
''You look like you just woke up. What was just 10 minutes ago?" Asked Yusuke looking at the clock.
''You know I work late at night. I have my reasons for staying late.'' Said Atsuko.
''What kind of job this time?" Asked Yusuke.
''don't ask.'' Said her all tired.
''Fair enough.'' Said Yusuke.
Atsuko wasn't a horrible person, she is not like those alcoholic mothers you would see in TV and Movies. Yes, she drinks but she is not fully maternal in the slightest. After getting pregnant during her teens, she had a pretty rough path ahead of her, Yusuke only saw her sleeping, working or out partying. In other words, he didn't got a maternal figure and had to learn a bunch of things by himself and how to defend from the main things that life throws at you.
''So how was school today?" Asked Atsuko.
''Boring as usual, got out early. I don't know why I got into that school is pretty much the worst.'' Said Yusuke.
''Well, you got into a rich kid school. If you work hard you can get yourself a really good job and leave this mediocre city and your mediocre life.'' Said Atsuko.
The comment didn't hurt Yusuke, he didn't mind those talk, he heard much worse coming from people from school so he got used to all that.
''If you want to know I have passable grades, I am getting good enough in what I need to get accepted into graduation.
''that's not a good answer when you barely go to school.'' Said her.
''Well I decided the day I want or not go to school. Besides you know that studying is not my favorite subject, the only reason why I took that entrance exam is because you forced me to it.'' Said Yusuke.
''Ok, than in that case why don't you get a girlfriend? That place is filled with hot girls and some of them are rich, you might even hit the jackpot there.'' Said Atsuko.
''Sorry, I am not interested in a girlfriend at the moment. Got a lot to do and some chick is going to slow me down.'' Said Yusuke.
''Do you look like someone that has a lot on your plate?" Asked Atsuko with a raised eyebrow.
''I already go to a school that I hate, just one more year and I am out of this house and out of that place.'' Said Yusuke all annoyed.
''Now you´re sounding like a loser who does a job that you hate? What about your friends? Isn't Keiko there too? I bet she is super hot with that uniform.'' Siad Atsuko with a smikr
''Keiko is the usual boring and annoying girl as always. Not even that short skirt can make her look attractive. Besides that I don't have anyone there that is my friend.'' Said Yusuke.
''Yep, I am going to have no grandchildren in the future.'' Said Atsuko taking another puff of smoke.
''I think grandchildren is the thing you want the least at the moment. You want me to be a teenage dad or something?" Asked Yusuke.
''Whatever. I just want you to take responsibility and do something with your life. There are people in this country that would die to go into that school and you treat that place like some run down bathroom. I wish I had gone to a school like that when I was your age, you know why I didn't go? I had you. I´m telling you Yusuke if you fail that place I don't know what I am going to do with you.'' Said Atsuko all serious.
The teen had enough of that talk, he decided to go outside.
''I am going to get some fresh air, stretch my legs and maybe buy some dinner. See you mom.'' Said Yusuke going out.
''See ya.'' Said Atsuko continuing to watch TV.
The room was quiet, and Atsuko only took a long puff of smoke. She didn't know what to do. She never had any help when raised Yusuke.
Later
Yusuke was now in a commercial center near a park, he usually go there to goof off and have a smoke once in a while. The streets was almost empty for some reason, then he heard some footsteps behind him.
Three appeared, one was named Kirishima which has a short brown hair. Another with a shave head named Sawamra. Plus, another who was a bit chubby and had a greasy haircut named Okubo appeared. All of them were wearing the Kuoh Uniform.
Then the leader of the group appeared on the other side, it was a giant teen with a hair in the shape of a pompadour and its color was orange. He also wear the male Kuoh Uniform, however his jacket like Yusuke was modify, so instead of green it was blue. His name is Kazuma Kuwabara a guy who proclaimed to be Yusuke rival ever since Middle School. Every time Yusuke and Kuwabara fight it always went to Yusuke side, no matter how many times the tall teen lost he never gave up. When Yusuke heard that Kuwabara got accepted into Kuoh he thought it was a joke, he was worst in studies compared to him, but he figured out the only reason why someone like Kuwabara would ever take the Kuoh exam was to keep counting to challenge Yusuke, which was happening right now.
''Urameshi.'' Said Kuwabara.
''Hey Kuwabara you´re conscious, I am not used to that.'' Said Yusuke and that made the other punk annoyed.
''That was only a cheap shot last time, and I was only knocked out a little bit ok! Now I am going to beat you so bad that not even kitten wouldn't even look at you.'' Said Kuwabara ready to fight.
''Uh…last time I checked I won against you 155 times.'' Said Yusuke.
''Well this is the time where your winning streak stop!'' Said Kuwabara ready to deliver a punch.
Yusuke was faster and catch Kuwabara attack and deliver a right hook into the big teen left cheek. While Kuwabra was about to get up Yusuke delivered a fierce flying kick to his face, enough to make the teen cough blood. After that Yusuke grabbed the big guy by the uniform and using a judo move, he tossed him towards some boxes, crashing them all and making the poor guy feel more broken.
''Kuwabara!'' Said the trio of friends that the tall teen has, all of them going to check on his health.
''Well this is now 156. Kick your ass later.'' Said Yusuke going away.
''Dammit! This isn't over Urameshi! I will kill you for sure!'' Scream Kuwabara all pissed.
As Yusuke walked away he saw Kuwabara friends help him get up and even offer him to go to the hospital. They weren't minions or lackies, those guys were legitimate the big teen friends and they always hanged out together. There are times that Yusuke wished he had more friends, but he tends to put those emotions to the side.
''He truly is a big idiot. I don't know how his sister hasn't throw him out of the house yet.'' Thought Yusuke.
Nearby
Yusuke was now in another shopping district, this one more populated as he keeps thinking on what was going to happen later.
''Now Kuwabara is going to keep bothering me until I send him to the hospital again. Why hasn't that idiot figured out that he is super weak.' Thought Yusuke..
''Excuse me sir, would like some?'' Asked someone.
The teen looked to see a woman dressed in some sort of revealing outfit with bat wings, he didn't know if this was for a maid café, a cassino or something for grownups but he wanted to check it out.
''Uh thanks?'' Asked Yusuke looking at the paper which had only one phrase.
''We will grant you your wish!''
''Hey what this this mean?" Asked Yusuke confused.
Once he looked again the woman had vanished, now Yusuke was truly confused on what was going at the moment.
''What the hell was that?" Asked him putting the paper in his pocket he might give to his mother later.
While he was walking the shopping district he passed near a park where a kid was playing, the kid was playing with a ball, and it got towards Yusuke direction where he grabbed and the kid went to get it back. Yusuke grabbed the ball because it was too near the streets where the cars were going on at full speed because the light was green, one wrong move and that kid could be dead.
''May I have my ball please mister?'' Asked the young boy.
''Listen kid! You shouldn't be running around playing ball all by yourself. There are a lot of cars here and they will splatter you into he pavement.'' Said Yusuke trying to teach the kid a lesson and that got him pretty sad.
Yusuke seeing that decided to do something, he grabbed the ball and did some silly faces with it, in a few seconds the kid sad face was gone and now he was laughing and having a blast.
''Ha ha ha. Monster! Monster! Uncle became a monster.'' Said the kid.
''Alright, move along. Go play away from the streets.'' Said Yusuke giving the ball back to the kid.
Yusuke wanted to go along with his day as the kid went off, however he felt that this wasn't going to be that simple. He soon saw the kid playing ball in the same spot, one wrong move and that ball was going to distract a car and cause an accident.
''Dammit. That kid doesn't understand. Where are his parents?" Asked Yusuke.
The little kid than kicked the ball a bit too hard and ended up going towards the road, he saw no car coming and he decided to go on and grab his toy. However, there was a car coming along and it was in maximum speed, Yusuke saw that and enter in panic mode.
''Kid get off the road! Nooo!'' Scream Yusuke running.
The car was coming closer and closer to the boy, however Yusuke was there and in act of heroism he jumped toward the road and pushed the boy out of the way from the car. However, he was the one who ended up getting hit.
Crash
Yusuke body soon was slammed toward the road, blood coming all over the place and now signing of him moving. The traffic stop to see that scene as people saw that young man being killed off.
''Oh my god!''
''Someone call an ambulance!''
The people went into panic mode, they all tried to help him but it was no use. Yusuke Urameshi was not alive anymore as he sacrificied his life to save a young boy, a noble cause but it's a tragedy for someone so young.
The boy was soon reunited with his parents who wanted to make sure he was ok, the kid was but he was crying seeing Yusuke in that state.
Everyone saw that scene in horror, just feeling sorry for the poor student. However, there was one person who wasn't feeling sorry and it was a girl with long red hair and wearing a Kuoh Uniform for female.
''Yusuke Urameshi, despite your flaws there is a good person inside of you. Your kindness and compassion shall be rewarded. I promise to take care of you. Your life will once again have meaning, and you live for me.''
The girl walked near Yusuke body where she placed a red circle in his chest, she soon walked away as the ambulance arrived to take the boy away.
However the people on the living world weren't the only ones seeing that scene.
In another place.
A woman with blue hair was watching that scene in a big screen, alongside her was the boss of the place who sounded very young.
'Why are we watching this sir? Is this some kind of project.'' Said the woman.
''No, I think I am going to need that kid for a job. I need him to come here.'' Said the boss.
''But sir from what the screen is telling us the Gremory Clan has already claimed him.'' Said the woman named Botan.
''Its ok Botan, I already have a plan for this. Also don't you see something peculiar about this boy?'' Asked the boss.
''Uh?"' Asked the woman know identify as Botan still looking at the screen and trying to understand what her boss was talking about.
The boss just look at his paperwork and now see the name of the teenager who just saved that kid´s life.
''Yusuke Urameshi you might be perfect.'' Said the mysterious person with a childlike voice.
So yeah, Yusuke died like in canon saving a kid and not by being attacked by Raynare. He wouldn't be stupid to fall for that trick and he would figure out there was some weird stuff coming out.
Remember Yusuke will not be the Red Dragon Emperor, Issei is still around but he doesn't attend Kuoh or know these people. I have plans for him later. I hope you all be patient with that and we will see where this will take us.
I will post the next chapter soon so we can see what will happen. Also yeah, Yusuke will get a harem and he will be a competent boyfriend who has more characteristics than just being good and pervy. Be ready for Yusuke Urameshi the devil Spirit Dective.
