DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN GAME OF THRONES THEY BELONG TO HBO AND GEORGE R.R. MARTIN

A/N: Man the months had flown since I wrote the last chapter this one might be even more so. I really need to get a move on and catch up with my shit. But anyhow we are on Tyrion's portion of the story which is rather fun to write. The surprises I see with the Imp now in the main seat.

Here we go folks.

THE WARRIORS OF WINTERFELL

Chapter 31: The Coronation of King Joffrey

THE RED KEEP KING'S LANDING

Tyrion looked at the clues that both he and Bronn managed to bring back to their room in the Tower of the Hand. On the table in front of them were various objects that came from the King's bedroom including the wine pitcher the king used, his cups, some plates where he ate his meals and some other things like bloodied rags and a black mirror.

Tyrion had used the mirror to take an image of the room. It was a lot of images as they saw different angles and images of where the objects were at the time of Robert's death. Bronn was studying the images just as Tyrion was and both are perplexed by how disgusting the room is compared to when it is usually cleaned.

"So how long till they clean the room?" asked Bronn. His voice showed his curiosity.

"Not till after Joffery is king. Then the servants will clean the rooms to prepare it for the arrival of the new king." Tyrion replied as he sipped his cup of water. Bronn is amazed that the man who used to drink wine under the table only now drinks water. But from what he heard about the training with the previous Librarian of Winter. The man had to give up a lot to get where he is at. He didn't know if he could do the same sort of training.

"So with this evidence in hand let's see what we can find," Tyrion said as they gone through every inch of the imagery. It wasn't until they noticed something in the images that made Tyrion pause.

"Is that a black mirror?" asked Bronn.

"No, but I heard of such an object. The Librarian before once told me of an object known as The Eye Of Truth. He said that if one were to connect the mirror to the eye they can see what the eye has seen. But only Shifu would know what it means since she is the guardian of the mirrors," Tyrion replied as they viewed the room. Bronn also pulled out a few objects that he had pulled from the room including a pitcher full of the wine that the King drank before he was killed.

"Smell this does this smell strange to you?" Bronn asked Tyrion and the dwarf sniffed the pitcher his eyes widened at the scent.

"This wine has been laced with something," Tyrion said to him and Bronn nodded his head as well, "Thought so myself when I took a sniff. It smells like something that the whores down in King's Landing would use for seducing their clients into giving them more money," Bronn said to him Tyrion had to agree for he recognized the scent himself. It was a drug made only in the lands of Yi-Ti. It makes one hallucinate and tend to be less likely to kill you if inhaling it for too long. Tyrion frowned when he saw it knowing that it can be addicting if taken too often. He remembers people often smoked it in pipes to soothe aches and pains as well as use it as an aphrodisiac such as the case here.

"This drug is more powerful then Milk of the Poppy in fact it is in the same family if I remember," Tyrion said. Bronn nodded his head in understanding his posture was relaxed as he looked at the jug.

"Yeah I remember my captain teaching me about it. In fact I remember that it is the same plant and it is used by the Maesters to make Milk of the Poppy. But the people of Yi-ti refined to be more of an aphrodisiac," Bronn replied. His voice was curious when he said it and Tyrion could only nod in agreement.

"So the King was given an aphrodisiac when fucking his whores I wonder why?" asked Tyrion. Thankfully Bronn is not as dumb as he looks and in fact smiled as he leaned back in his chair.

"This type if I remember my father telling me is often used to soothe the aches of the mind and heart. Remember King Robert once longed for Lyanna Stark. So I guess he had this to help him when fucking those whores and had paid them to bring him some. I would not be surprised if he was addicted to the stuff," Bronn replied to him.

"Still that does not make him so disabled that he allowed a boar to kill him. There must be something going on?" Tyrion said. Bronn had to agree with him.

Before their conversation could go any further a knock on the door was announced. Both Tyrion and Bronn quickly hid their gear and their evidence before the door opened to announce Varys into the room. Upon seeing the Master of Whispers their collective sighs of relief could be heard. When Varys closed the door behind him and came to their table they brought out their clues again.

"What is this?" Varys said to Tyrion while he was looking into the pitcher that contained the contaminated wine. The smell reached his nose and his eyes widened in shock.

"Opium! What the hell was the king thinking for taking this substance?" he said to them.

"We don't know Varys. All we know is that the King was drinking it while fucking his whores and we could smell it in the incense that he had in his room," Tyrion held out the candles that contained the substance.

"I understand the need for Opium, but to take in such large amounts is dangerous and addicting at best. Why was it in the King's wine?" Varys asked. Both Tyrion and Bronn knew they could trust Varys because he was in on the secret as well as a few others outside of the North.

"The reason is simple, the King was in pain all the time. He may not tell anyone because he is a proud fucker, but everyone who smokes, or consumes anything made with Opium knows that it can numb the pain of both physical and psychological injuries. In this instance the King was suffering from the loss of Lyanna Stark. From what the servants have spoken he speaks her name often in front of the Queen. The pain runs deep even though he has never met her," Bronn said to Varys.

The Master of Whispers was silent for a bit contemplating on what was just revealed to him.

"So you think that the King could not get over the grief of losing his betrothed to another man?" Varys said to him. Tyrion shook his head the sound of his cup being raised indeed told of his need for something to drink. Fortunately that drink was water.

"I think it is more to the story. I think Robert probably felt that the Tagaryen family has taken too much from him and wanted nothing more then to take away the pain. The mere thought of their line still alive thousands of miles across the narrow sea infuriates him even till this day." said Varys thinking along the lines of the king trying to end his pain slowly through drugs.

"From the smell of the wine there is not enough of the drug to make him want to be careless. It smells as if he purposely waters it down to ease the dosage as if he knowingly knows a bit more about it. Either that or someone who knows about opium has the knowledge of what to give to the King," Tyrion said to them his voice sure and even.

"Even if they knew the correct dosage won't the king demand more?" asked Bronn. His voice showed his concern for the late king. He leaned in and placed his hands under his chin as he laid his head on his intertwined fingers.

"Not unless someone else was giving him the drug. We know for a fact that Pycelle is good at what he does. If he was the one supplying the drugs to the king then that makes him guilty. However when I examined the cup and the pitcher of wine none match to that of the slimy old man," Tyrion said to them his voice was far from even.

"Perhaps the eye can tell us more," said Bronn as he reached out and held the circular object in his hand. They could see the dark eye that stares back at them.

"The eye?" Varys said to them.

"The Eye of Truth when connected to a Black Mirror can show you what it has seen from anywhere. However I do not know how to extract that knowledge. Only Shifu knows how to harness it's power. But first we have to wait until Lord Stark arrives before we can do anything." Tyrion said to them and both Varys and Bronn agreed.

"What else have you gathered about the King's room?" Varys said to them. It was here that Tyrion pulled out his black mirror. Tapping the correct sequence he saw the usual images that it would show. Tapping his finger on the image of a flower several images appeared before him. Tapping the first one showed the images of King Robert's room.

"Of course you can see blood on the bed of the King. Look to the left of the bed what do you see?" he said to Varys and the Eunuch looked good before his eyes widened.

"Someone was there!" he said to them.

"Yes, that image on the wall behind the bed showed that someone was behind the bed near or before King Robert's death. Now the only person I know who would was probably his squire a cousin of mine from Casterly Rock. The boy was nothing more then a squabbling brat. Aunt Genna sent him here as a sign that the boy needs to man up. So my sister graciously offered him to the King to be his squire. He was more like a personal attendant then a squire. But the imprint on the wall was there." Tyrion said to them and their faces looked grim.

"Do you think he was the one who poisoned the king?" asked Bronn his voice was even when he saw it.

"I doubt it, the boy has the brains of a toad much less has the capacity to know about drinks. His father was a Frey after all," he replied to them. Thinking and then his eyes lit up.

"Though now that I think about it, it may not be his drink after all," Tyrion said to him. Varys saw that look in his eyes and frowned until they lit up in understanding.

"You think maybe the food could have been poisoned?" asked Bronn his voice confused at first.

"Not the food, the lipstick of the whore who kissed him," said Tyrion. Bronn's face finally lit up with understanding as he finally realized what he was thinking.

"You think one of the whores who was sent to his bedroom was an assassin?" asked Varys.

"We will not know until we see the eye. We have to wait for Lord Stark to make sure I am right about all this, but if I am right then by chance we might be dealing with either a faceless man who has gone rogue…."

"Or someone who has hired an assassin who has no care for royalty," said Bronn.

LATER

Tyrion watched as preparations were underway. Decorations from all around were being put up by the servants in various colors of the many great houses of the Realm as well as the crown's own colors. He looked down to see his sister screaming at the servants about her dissatisfaction of house hold decorations.

"I see she is still the same as always," said a voice and Tyrion turned to see his brother Jaime standing there beside him.

"Yes, she always wanted things to be perfect for her including watching her own son ascend to the throne," Tyrion replied watching as she once again yelled at the musicians about being off key or off their timing.

Jaime sighed as he looked down at his sister. The longing in his eyes was clearly evident on his face which makes Tyrion try not to shudder at the thought. Despite his own thoughts, what matters is his own mission and all things are put aside for now. He looked back down towards the queen Cersei was busy suggesting things that might not be suitable to for a man to suggest, but more for a woman's touch. Things such as decorations and food were all managed by the women and then given to the steward to get done.

"When does Lord Stark arrive?" he asked him. Though his voice and his thoughts were not in it.

"Tomorrow morning," Tyrion replied is voice was steady as he looked at his brother with a hint of unease in his voice.

"You sound distressed dear brother?" Jaime inquired as he leaned on the rail overlooking the throne room. His gaze was light and amusing but Tyrion knows he has an ulterior motive. So he decided to play along not giving anything away to his dear brother.

"I am distressed because I fear Lord Stark would want to investigate the death of his dear friend himself and that would lead to disaster." Tyrion said to him hoping to sound convincing enough to get evidence against his own flesh and blood. Though if you were to ask him ten years ago about ever betraying his brother then Tyrion would have hesitated. Now more is at stake then that of familiar bonds. Tyrion knows that when he was sworn in to be the Librarian of Winter he had to give up his titles and his family but not his name. He kept his name but nothing was left for him to use. He was a Lannister in name only now and with that he could use that to his advantage.

"Oh and why would it lead to disaster?" Jaime said to him. Tyrion gave him a glare which the meaning was given to his brother. Eyes opening in understanding Jaime finally made his excuses and left. But as he left Tyrion was sharp enough to notice the servant glancing his way while pretending to work. He even saw the children hiding in the shadows of the many ports that stuck out of the wall.

At least Varys is keeping an eye out for any sort of trouble, Tyrion thought. He watched as the servant moved and waited till she disappeared before he followed discreetly from the shadows. His short legs were quick and light as he walked down the corridor towards the destination of servants. When he gotten there she had vanished through a door and Tyrion had to hide before he allowed himself the luxury of entering a place where nobles normally don't go. Thanks to his training he managed to get past the servants and found the girl there speaking to someone else. When Tyrion looked it was none other then Petyr Baelish The Master of Coin. The man smiled at her before paying her and walked away. Tyrion knew that something was going on and so waited till the servant walked past him to follow old Little Finger.

When he finally caught up with Little Finger. The man quickly slipped into the streets and it was at this time Tyrion knew the man was up to no good. But outside of the palace there was nothing he could do...unless.

Getting up from his position he made his way to one of the children that Varys called his little birds. Calling the child over Tyrion whispered his message into the child's ear and then watched as the Child took off towards the city.

LATER THAT DAY

After a day of doing nothing but helping with running the kingdom the heralds sounded to announce the arrival of the many lords expected for the coronation. Tyrion rushed towards the window and looked down below. The banners of the houses began to filter in. They were mostly of houses from the Crownlands, Stormlands, and the Riverlands. Banners of various colors began to fly in the sky and many people came to attend to their horses. Many house carriages arrived carrying ladies and their servants as well as the children of various lords. It was expected of their arrival and tomorrow would bring the North, the Westerlands, the Reach and Dorne into the facility. Tyrion was looking forward to seeing Lord Stark again and the other Stark Children. At least when they are around he doesn't have to worry so much about his sister's treacherous hand.

At least she doesn't have to worry so much about him going against her as it would be a slight against House Stark.

"You seemed troubled?" said a voice and Tyrion turned his head to look at Varys who came from the shadows.

"I am always troubled when I come to this city," Tyrion replied. His voice filled with worry about what is happening down below. The sounds of shouting could be heard from up in the Red Keep as servants and guards shouted orders. The smell of the city beyond reached even as high as the tower of the hand. Tyrion hated the smell of piss, shit and death. At least in the North, Lord Stark made sure that the roads are kept clean of any sort of crap and with the invention of public latrines and cleaning services the cities in the North remained clean.

Unlike here in King's Landing.

"We all do my friend and yet we still press on," Varys said to him and Tyrion had to laugh. His laughter filled the room when Varys said that.

"You know my friend I've read that somewhere in one of the books I've read. It was a story about a group of adventurers exploring the world with the help of a giant eagle of all things. It was an interesting read," Tyrion replied his voice full of laughter.

"Ah, I've read that book myself the last time I went north to Winterfell. It was War in the North if I am not mistaken," Varys replied and Tyrion nodded though the talk of fantasy novels and talking dragons has made his head fill with childish fantasies it never amazes him about how much he and Varys have in common.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door and Tyrion called the person to enter. The door opened and a servant girl came with a tray full of food. She placed it on the table before leaving. As she was leaving Tyrion grabbed a needle and placed it into each of the various dishes. Varys watched amazed as he even ran the needle along the plates and along the goblets and the drink that the girl has placed.

"M'lord?" Varys said to him.

"Just testing it for poison. Even though there are poison testers here in the palace one can never tell when they are being tricked into eating or drinking anything. Besides I know that Jon Arryn was poisoned. The symptoms described by young Robyn has told me enough to know that Tears of Lys were used in his murder," Tyrion said and Varys gasped the other man was surprised to hear this.

"I thought you knew?" Tyrion asked him and from Varys's face he didn't.

"Who poisoned him and how did young Robyn Arryn know?" Varys asked. His voice was full of concern as his usually placid face turned down in a frown. Tyrion sighed as he turned to Varys upset with himself for not checking to see if any ravens met Varys.

"Lady Lysa killed her husband. She is a kinslayer," Tyrion replied to him.

"I never knew Lysa Arryn would sink so low as to poison her husband," Varys said to him. His face showed his sadness for he had truly liked Jon Arryn.

"That indeed she did so tell me Varys when my nephew is crowned king how do the people react to him?" Tyrion asked him. Varys's frown deepened.

"There are whispers of his cruelty m'lord. I heard from the pleasure houses that the whores they sent up to his rooms never return, and that their corpses were all hung on the walls of his bedchambers filled with bolts and arrows," he said. Tyrion frowned not liking this one bit for if the king was psychotic then it would be the mad king all over again. But then again the only reason why the Mad King was called that was because he went insane when they tortured his wife. Joffrey from what he is here was born that way a true child of incest.

The horns suddenly went off again announcing the arrival of the next house to enter the red keep. Tyrion looked off the balcony to see who would enter the palace. And smirked when he saw some of the familiar houses of Dorne.

"Well I am surprised that the Martells are here to visit. Normally they don't come to such occasions," Tyrion said to Varys and the man nodded wearily.

"I am aware of that my friend, but I believe that Doran Martell is not here to see the king. I believe he is here to see Lord Stark," he said and Tyrion smirked remembering that because of Lord Stark's actions against the Mountain, House Martell is close to House Stark and the fact that Northern healers have been helping the Dornish Prince with his health problems. His brother Oberyn studied at Winterfell for sometime and also felt a kinship to Tyrion. The Librarian of Winter remembered him telling Tyrion of how he met him just after he was born. The dwarf was thrilled to hear the stories the Prince told him about just as the Prince was delighted to hear about Tyrion's knowledge of poisons and cures.

"I am sure to see my good friend Oberyn when he comes up to meet me," Tyrion said to him as the Master of Whispers smiled at him knowingly. The other man nodded in good faith knowing that the Dornish Prince would mostly want to frequent the brothels first before seeing him.

"I see," he said and Tyrion then watched as more lords made their way into the keep.

LATER

"Brother why didn't you come down to greet the lords like a proper hand would?" Cersei asked of Tyrion as they ate supper that night. The Queen requested that Tyrion eat with them that night in the dining hall instead of in his chambers. She was surrounded by her children most notably Joffrey her son as he smirked at Tyrion wanting to do something to the dwarf.

"And shame you with my presence, sister you wound me. You know that my mere presence would cause a sneer on your face since you hate me that much," Tyrion mocked and Cercei did in fact sneer.

"Duty demands that you present yourself to me or does drinking and whoring seem more your type?" she asked him. Tyrion didn't rise to the bait. In fact he raised an eyebrow in amusement at his sister noticing that her face became redder by the second.

"Dear sweet sister, you do remember that I have meetings to attend to and security to plan for your son's coronation?" Tyrion replied smugly and Cersei scoffed at him. He could barely hear her say, 'Security my ass.' he wanted to laugh at her expense since that was the first time he heard her swear before.

The rest of the time went in silence as they ate their meal before the next set of trumpets was announced.

"Lord Tywin Lannister of Casterly Rock and Warden of the West has arrived," the boy said before running off.

Cersei rose along with the rest of the royal family. The only one who didn't rise was Joffrey while Tommen and Myrcella rose as one to greet their grandfather. The doors opened and Tywin Lannister entered in his armor a sure sign of his hard riding.

"Greetings father," Cersei said to him and he turned his cold gaze to hers. "I see you still kept your manners after living here in this viper nest for sometime," he said to her and she looked like she had been slapped.

"Greetings Lord Lannister," the children said to him and he nodded to them with a faint smile on his face. Tyrion noticed this and made a note to himself to watch his father carefully. Tywin may greet the children but he also see nothing more then pawns for his legacy. Something that Tyrion was glad he was no longer apart of.

"Greetings to you all and how have you been," he said to the children and so the dinner went with Tommen and Myrcella telling Tywin about their exploits much to the older man's amusement.

LATER

A knock on the door had Tyrion stand up from where he was sitting in his solar. The Librarian was reading the latest reports from Winterfell when Bronn entered and announced his father Tywin. After leaving Tywin walked in admiring the view and the decorations of the room.

"Not quite The Hand's Chambers now is it?" he asked Tyrion.

Tyrion snorted, "Of course not, now that you are here I can resume my duties as Librarian of Winter even from King's Landing." Tywin only glared but then remembered that he himself had disowned Tyrion so the smaller Lannister is no longer under his control.

"Why did you obey my summons then if you are no longer my son?" Tywin asked out of curiosity.

"Because I was tasked to find out what happened to King Robert. After all I am a specialist in many fields and one of them happens to be forensics or as you would put it investigative research. Lord Stark has made it known that as Hand of the King it was Jon Arryn's job to investigate if he was still alive. However he was killed by his own wife before the King's own death. It was really suspicious don't you think?" Tyrion said to him and Tywin now stood even taller his eyes were inquisitive as to Tyrion's deductive reasoning.

"All I heard from Casterly Rock was that the King died during a hunt and that a boar gotten lucky," Tywin replied to Tyrion his eyes never leaving his.

"Of course they would have told you that. Cersei doesn't want panic to erupt from the kingdom now not even with all the snakes wanting power for themselves," Tyrion shot back which Tywin shrugged and then moved towards a place to sit which was at the table that Tyrion is currently sitting at.

"However I've known that something of the sort was foul the moment Lord Stark had gotten the raven from King's Landing. He told me himself that he had seen Robert kill a bear with his spear while in his cups and still maintaining his grip on his horse. He said he'd even seen him take on numerous men with his hammer while in his cups. So that left me to believe that King Robert was murdered by either poison or something else." Tyrion continued and Tywin looked impressed.

"Now that you mentioned it Lord Stark's words does bare truth. I had seen Robert battle Ironborn while in his cups and still managed to take them down. So if what you are telling is true then that means that Robert had been killed by someone on the inside," Tywin concluded. Tyrion nodded his head in agreement.

"I would bet one of the council might have done it," Tyrion said to him watching his reaction. Tywin's gaze never left his as if watching for any sudden movements. Tyrion noticed that he is without his armor but his sword is still strapped to his side.

"I know this place has many snakes hidden in the walls. Lord Stark was wise not to come down to King's Landing and take up Robert's offer of Hand. He would have been a good Hand to the King but knowing Robert he would have wanted Ned to rule in his stead while he dishonors his wife every night with those whores," Tywin said with disdain on his voice. Before Tyrion could reply Tywin continued.

"Then to my surprise I received a raven from King's Landing asking me to resume my role as Hand of the King, but this time to Robert instead of Aerys. I found myself stumped. It was only when I inquired with Jaime that he informed me that Ned Stark had refused the offer even though Robert made the trip all the way to Winterfell to beg. Ned is no fool he knows the risks involved and had chosen to stay where he belongs...in the North. He has no experience with Southern Politics and customs and as much as I despise the man he is a good leader. I will give him that much respect." Tywin then took a pitcher and a cup and poured himself a drink. Upon taking a sip and realizing it was water he turned to Tyrion in surprise.

"I am not allowed to drink father. I had to give up the drink years ago." Tyrion said to him not surprised that he didn't bother to look at the progress reports from Lord Stark.

"I see that I need to pay attention more to those letters the previous Librarian have sent me before he died," Tywin replied as he drank his cup and looked once again around the room which was pretty plain compared to some of the rooms that he had seen in the Red Keep.

"Now Lord Lannister you know as well as I do that when you once again resume your role of hand there is much that needs to be done especially about your grandson." Tyrion said to him knowing that he had to tread carefully in order to win Tywin over. The Lord of the West is a formidable foe and thus to gain his favor one has to prove they are as good as they can get.

"What about my grandson?" Tywin asked him his voice held a bit of edge.

"Lord Tywin you know as well as I do that Joffrey is not the son of Robert Baratheon. That role is to Tommen who has dyed his hair gold to hide his true appearance because his late father and his mother refuse to allow him and Myrcella to be the Baratheons they are. Joffrey holds no such appearance." Tyrion said to him. The icy cold stare was met in time with Tyrion. He watched as Tywin held his sword in a tight grip as if to grasp it and try to slay Tyrion from his seat. However the dwarf is not only prepared for such an assault but he held his axe under the table ready to strike should Tywin try anything.

However cooler heads decided to rule here after the staring contest as Tywin let go of his sword. Sitting down he looked at Tyrion's serious expression.

"Are you certain that Joffrey is a bastard?" Tywin asked him his voice not wavering the slightest.

"If you don't believe me then perhaps the black mirror can show you," Tyrion said to him and passed him the small rectangular object. Tywin slowly placed his hand on the mirror and pulled it towards him. When it came to a spot where one normally looks at paper the surface lit up and showed an image along with what appears to be the time.

"Are you familiar with the Black Mirror?" Tyrion asked him and Tywin looked up at him in curiosity.

"I am only familiar with what people have told me about it. Though I have never held one in my life," Tywin replied to Tyrion's inquiry.

"Then you know how it works then?" Tyrion asked him and Tywin shook his head. "I have never paid attention to such tales but now that I see it and how it shines brightly I am starting to believe that things are changing," Tywin replied as he placed his finger on it. The mirror lit up again to show the time.

"Flick your finger upwards m'lord," Tyrion said to him. Tywin looked up at Tyrion before flicking his finger upwards.

What he saw on the image was only the tipping of the ice berg.

For there in all its glory was an image of Cersei and Jaime in the tower. His breath hitched as he went to put a finger on it. What happened next made his blood boil. As the image began to move much to Tywin's shock the scene of Cersei and Jaime talking filled his ears before they both embraced and it lead to even more passionate dealings. Tywin's hand shook when the image then turned to how Bran Stark witnessed it and was pushed from the tower. When the image faded Tywin's face was seething in rage as he slid the mirror back to Tyrion.

"What sort of sorcery is this!" he said not believing one bit what he just witnessed.

"The Black Mirror or the Mirror of Truth Lord Tywin. The mirror cannot tell lies or make falsehoods. When one gazes upon the mirror the mirror then shows them images of what it saw near its holding. This image was taken from a rundown tower when the King was at Winterfell. The image came from a mirror that was hanging just outside the area that Jaime and Cersei was having their tryst. Bran Stark just so happen to witness such an act but was too young to understand what was going on. I was there when the boy fell from the tower and nearly lost his life. He was lucky that the Maester happens to know how to mend a broken back. He said if he hadn't landed on the patch of moss on the bottom of the tower then Young Bran would have been paralyzed for life. As it stands the boy will make a full recovery within a year, but his memory of the events is muffled because of the fall," Tyrion said. His voice was even when he confronted his father about this.

Tywin for the most part remained quiet as the story unfolded itself right in front of his eyes.

"How do you know that Tommen is Robert's trueborn son?" he asked and Tyrion looked at him straight in the eye. Tyrion noted that he never mentioned Myrcella, but then again Tywin was probably thinking about legitimacy to rule.

"Ask him to remove his hair coloring and glass eyes. They will tell you the truth," Tyrion said to him.

Tywin leaned back into his seat the shock was clear on his face. For being well informed he was never informed about this escapade. In the face of both of his golden children Tywin has to consider that they are performing the very thing that the Targaryens had done in the past.

"Ask the Maester for the record of every royal birth of House Baratheon," Tyrion said to him.

"I will think about it," Tywin said the shock still evident when he arose from his seat.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Tyrion said to him and handed him a small object. Tywin unconsciously took the object before departing Tyrion's chambers. As soon as Tywin left the room Tyrion sighed as he sagged back onto his chair. After about five minutes Bronn came though the door and quickly shut it before coming up to him.

"You alright? You look like shit?" he said and Tyrion sighed.

"It has been a long day," Tyrion said to him and Bronn nodded in understanding.

"Aye it has been a long day and it will be even longer tomorrow when Lord Stark arrives," Bronn said to him and Tyrion nodded in agreement.

MEANWHILE

Tywin returned to his rooms his face impassive as his guards led him to the tower of the hand. Now that he no longer is the acting hand. Tyrion was moved towards the family wing of Meagor's Keep. Tywin on the other hand is in the Tower of the Hand. The object that his youngest had given him was something that he never thought he would see ever.

A black mirror

An object that was meant to show one the truth through the eyes of those who seek it. And also it shows you things that no man wishes to see such as the image he saw of his golden twins. Tyrion was clever to show this to him and not to Cersei. He knew of the implications that his daughter would use to kill him to keep this information from Tywin and her late husband. Oh how his blood boiled when he saw it, once he over came the shock. To see such disgusting acts made made him sure that things needed to be done to ensure that his two golden children would fall back into line.

Walking into his new office Tywin sat down at his desk and began to go over the papers that Tyrion left for him to go over. Things such as reports from meetings and messages has brought Tywin's eyes up immensely at how detailed everything is. It was a shock to see it for himself but perhaps being a librarian has helped with his younger son's organization.

After filing through much of the paperwork Tywin did come to the conclusion that Joffrey was indeed a bastard. He would have to test it out himself, but he also noted the rats in the palace that was stated in Tyrion's reports. He would have to deal with them himself.

Hmm what is this about Little Finger? Well He'll have to keep his eyes and ears on that little snake, He thought as he looked at the report about the brothels in the city. He would have to give Tyrion his dues for he was thorough.

Tywin then looked at the black mirror again he put his hand on it and it once again lit up showing the image of his eldest children again. Tywin growled low when he thought about the things he could do to the two of them. He then placed the mirror down on the table by his bed looking at the evidence through a mirror. From what he knew the Black Mirrors also known as the Mirrors of Truth reveal the absolute truth to the one who views them. Tywin was cautious about the use of such things, but the mirror's themselves are rather useful. In fact they are better then what most spies tell him.

He would need to speak to Varys the Master of Whispers if he wants to know more about what he has seen through the mirror.

But as he noticed the hour is of the Owl and it is time to rest. So with that in mind and the weariness of his travels Tywin Lannister placed the Black Mirror next to his night stand and went to undress for the night. Going into his sleeping clothes he placed his sword at his side. A habit he picked up from fighting in Robert's Rebellion.
