Baby said nothing as Bonnie wiped her face, using a lot of wet paper towels to make sure she was spick and span. Which was difficult, considering the soda had long since dried and the cake was somehow inside her shell and other crevices. But the rabbit said nothing as he cleaned up his partner, she still had not said a thing. It was unnerving how silent she was, not even reacting to the slightest of sounds.
It was like all life was drained out of her, and Bonnie hated that. But he didn't push for her to speak, because he was sure that Baby was silent for one reason and one reason alone: She was holding on by the skin of her teeth. She was so unbelievably close to completely erupting in nothing but pure, uncontained rage that she was choosing to be silent, like saying a single word would set her off.
As Bonnie gently turned her around so he could clean her back in the better light, the clown's face reflected in the bathroom mirror. Her eyes were dimmer than usual, and if she was human, Bonnie would bet they would be bloodshot with bags under them.
"Are you feeling any better?" He asked quietly, cleaning off her skirt. "Just shake or nod your head."
Baby shook her head.
"Is there any way I can help you feel better?"
She shrugged.
Bonnie hummed as he focused on cleaning. "Just let me know when you need something, okay? Because no matter what, I am here for you Scrapy."
Baby nodded, her eyes locked onto her reflection. Bonnie glanced around her to try and look in her eyes, but when he glanced into her eyes he was only met with something foreign. It was almost like something was blocking his gaze into her soul, and all he got was a lifeless robot who was just waiting to be set off.
Baby's gaze was broken from the mirror and they snapped at Bonnie's. The stiff, cold way they moved feeling almost alien for the robot. The rabbit almost flinched, but repressed it and calmly went back to cleaning.
Baby looked back at her reflection, a turmoil of emotions going on inside her behind the lifeless eyes that stared back. As she gazed at her reflection, she saw a sort of TV static or glitchy fuzz slowly start to form around her, a faint buzzing slowly starting to gain volume in her head. It was like a blanket was slowly choking her.
But she still didn't say a word, didn't move a joint or even twitch a wire. She was frozen as the war of emotions clashed inside her chest. She glanced down at her claw, flexing the massive pair of jagged teeth pincers as thoughts ran through her head at super speed. How she wanted to just tear this whole place apart, how she wanted to uproot everything.
If everyone was giving her a hard time, why the fuck should she hold back.
Bonnie grunting as he wiped down a particularly bad spot made the thoughts slow. Not outright stop, but just slow down. She wanted to hurt everyone… so, so badly. Well, except her friends and boyfriend. They were fine. But was worried that when she went off, she wouldn't be able to stop, that it'd be nothing but red in her vision. Nothing but a target wherever she looked.
That terrified her, because she knew when it finally clicked in her head after she did it, she'd completely break.
Bonnie subtly looked up at the mirror to gaze into Baby's eyes again, and he could now see that turmoil going on inside her, but only for a moment. It was like it was flickering, sparking like a dying candle.
The rabbit made no noise as his own thoughts tried to make sense of what was going on. Yes, he knew Baby hated this place, but the look in her eyes showed him she held nothing but hatred for this place. Aside from himself, Lefty and Molten, everyone has been antagonising her one way or another. Even those who did agree with how this Afton revenge plot was dumb, never were willing to side with Baby. Like they were scared, or disgusted with her. And it only got worse as time went on and more people distanced from her.
Honestly, really thinking about that, Bonnie didn't blame her being this mad at all. But it was still heartbreaking how she hated her own home this much all because people kept giving her a hard time. Because she was just wanting to be herself.
Then he thought… Maybe Baby would be safer in the Capital with all her other friends. The ones that opened her up and 'fixed' her, in a sense. Maybe she would be safer with Caleb, and Ralph, and Jenny and Steve and all of them. He'd just need to talk to them so he could get a way to visit whenever he pleased, so they could still be together.
But, that made him think back… Caleb mentioned rooms. Was… Was he wanting Bonnie, Lefty and Molten to be part of all of this like everyone else? The rabbit let the idea bounce around his head, somewhat liking the idea of being able to have a place away from all this hate and cold. Maybe he could finally see the bright blue sky again, go on a walk through a forest, maybe smell some flowers.
He shook his head, deciding to worry about that all later. Right now, he has a job to do. But as he started to pick up the pace with cleaning, Lefty came into the bathroom with a sparkling eye.
"Did you talk with Afton?" Bonnie said, not looking up from his task.
The black bear half-nodded. "We did a bit, but we didn't want any eavesdroppers, so me and Molten decided to bring him to a more quiet place away from all prying eyes. And I decided that wherever you two were was the best." They glanced at Baby. "How's the doing, by the way."
"Still silent, but don't push it. She has a lot going on, and the last thing we want is her to completely crumble."
Lefty nodded and rested a gentle hand on the clown's shoulder. "It'll be okay, Baby, I promise." Baby nodded, still staring at her reflection. Lefty stood back up and moved and looked back down at Bonnie. "I also want to add that Henry will be joining us as well. He didn't say why he'd want to join, but I could tell he wanted to get Cassidy to stop."
"It's good we have a lot of allies involved with this", the rabbit mumbled as he scrubbed at a particularly sticky area. "Because if we want this to work out, we need as much help as we can get."
The black bear nodded as Afton holding the camera tablet came in, Molten taking up the rear. The wire amalgam looked back into the hallway before looking back at the others. "We made sure no one was following us, although they were giving us weird looks."
"Because anyone but Ballora being with me is weird", Afton said with a tired sigh as he sat on the bathroom counter. The old man looked down at the tablet screen, then over at Baby. "I'm really sorry about what happened to Baby…"
"It's okay, Afton", Bonnie said. "She just needs some alone time. Ignore her while the rest of us talk, okay?"
The murderer nodded, then looked at Lefty. "So… You want me to purposefully start up a hard night shift so you guys can do something to expose Cassidy?"
The black bear nodded. "We'll keep you safe. Even if Baby is locked down by the shocks, Cass never did anything to keep me from causing problems. So I'll head right over as soon as the night shift starts."
"And I won't hesitate to leave the vent", Molten said.
"And I'll help out where the cameras are needed", Henry said as the alligator on the screen faced the killer. "My patience has run out with Cassidy, and I'm sad to say that Charlie has disappointed me for not catching on to all of this sooner. I burned everything down because I just wanted it all to end, but Cassidy held on too tight."
"Which is why we need to do this", Bonnie said as he finally finished cleaning the still silent Baby up. "We need to have her show her true colours." He threw the last paper towel he used away, then faced the others. "So, how are we going to do this?"
"If we really need Cass mad at Afton…" Molten mumbled in thought. "Then he needs to bug her directly. Or maybe Charlie."
Afton looked a bit uncomfortable for a moment, before sighing. "If that's all you need me to do, then I'll do it. I'm already losing so much energy for this, and I just want to rest…"
"Leave the demons to his demons is what I kept telling Cassidy", Henry said in a tired tone. "Afton had enough on his plate to make his trip through hell substantial. But this has slowly made me regret not making sure I was there with him to keep this from happening."
"It's not your fault, Henry", Bonnie said as he crossed his arms. "You didn't think Cassidy would remain this vengeful this long after everything was said and done. None of us did."
"Spiteful and vindictive to the end…" Lefty said with a sigh.
"I actually do remember Cassidy when she was alive, before you killed her Afton", Henry explained.
The killer blinked as everyone looked at the tablet. "Really?"
The alligator nodded. "She… Well, she was a brat. All of how she is now is more or less how she was as a kid, only now it's amplified by her otherworldly abilities. I remember seeing her demand things from staff and boss other kids around like she was in charge of everything."
The others sans Baby blinked. Molten looked at the murderer. "Really? How'd you not know, Afton?"
"I was usually the one in the back", he said. "The spring lock suit I used was omen made for myself, but I usually was just on tech crews. The few times I went out to perform and not kill the kids, I never got names to faces. It was just a crowd to me, that's all."
Lefty nodded. "Makes sense. But that just means we need to really get Golden exposed here and now. So, are you guys ready to get this started?"
The group sans Baby nodded, and they all headed out of the bathroom to finally get the plan started. As they walked, Baby trailed a distance behind as if she was in a trance. Her mind was not all there, and she felt like at any second she was just going to collapse.
She just wanted to scream.
~X~
The plan was simple, and it was simply Afton going up to Charlie while Cassidy was nearby to set off the golden bear. Luckily, it was breakfast, and pretty much everyone was there. Baby got a sickening sense of Deja Vu as Afton headed into the dining room. The rest of them all peeked through the door, holding Henry up with some wires so the alligator could see what was happening, and potentially intervene if things spiralled.
The group winced when Afton actually tripped when Plushtrap came running out from nowhere, and nearly crashed on the ground…
Had Charlie not broken his fall.
The group winced, and Henry sighed mumbling about Plushtrap being a menace. But it did work. Cassidy saw, and while Afton was apologising for what happened, and Charlie seemingly understanding, Cassidy just exploded again.
It was like what happened with Elizabeth all over again, and Baby felt her internal systems lock up as the golden bear went off and started up the night shift. Baby closed her eyes as the sounds of static and crashing metal suddenly banged around in her head, and when it all stopped, she was in the office before Afton.
The murderer gave her a sad smile as the night started up, and he steeled his expression as he focused. Baby blinked, too scared to move, else be shocked. But when a noise sounded off behind her, and a loud one at that, she had to look behind her. No shock, which was nice, but seeing how crowded the office was made her feel ill.
Rockstar Freddy started spouting his stupid phrase, animatronics were stomping outside and banging in the vents, there was laughter and hums and mechanical clicking…
Baby was losing her patience. Cassidy was constantly showing up with the same giggle, BB and JJ's laughter was getting grating, Trash and their gang would not shut up, Music Man's cymbals were crashing together louder and louder.
The more it went on the more her patience frayed…
Afton was working frantically to try and stay alive, and Lefty was trying to get inside but there was so much happening that Afton was unknowingly keeping her contained, which was throwing off the plan. This also negatively affected Molten and NightBon, meaning Afton was all alone in the office. Well, he still had Baby, but she was seemingly going through… something.
Baby pupils dilated as the sound around her seemingly got louder, wearing her down further. Parrots squawking, some weird shadow thing flickering in front of Afton, banging against the doors, shuffling outside…
Afton was getting overwhelmed, and he was going to fail at some point. He tried to keep up with all the animatronics, but it was becoming impossible. Rockstar Freddy was being a constant annoyance, forcing use of the heater which only made Afton more stressed when everyone became more active for it.
Baby gaze was locked on the floor, and her mind was crashing. She couldn't handle this, it wasn't fair, just shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up…
Afton noticed Baby start to twitch, and he was worried she was going to completely turn on him in her moment of emotional turmoil.
Just shut up, why won't you all shut up, just shut up…
Afton was getting more and more overwhelmed, but Baby's constant shaking was starting to freak him out. And when her eyes started flashing between blue, green and red, his heart rate skyrocketed.
Why why why why why why why why why why…
Afton saw Baby slowly start to stand up, and he was about to press the shock button out of defence… but he hesitated and looked her in the eye instead. Something wasn't right, something was wrong, she was going to do something.
Baby was standing at her full height, her face covered in shadow. "Shut up…" she hissed so quietly that it was pretty much silent.
Afton, just as he put on the Freddy mask to ward off Toy Chica and Bonnie, looked up at her. "What?"
"Shut up…" She said a bit louder. "Shut up…"
The murderer's eyes started to widen as her voice grew louder, repeating that one phrase again and again, and as the noise surrounding them both got louder and louder, he suddenly grabbed the tablet and backed away a bit.
"Shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up…" Baby repeated again and again, her claw tensing in a very threatening manner. She was shaking, eyes were wild, and her breathing was getting heavier. All the voices, stomping, banging, laughter, it was all too much.
Afton opened his mouth to say something, but was cut when Rockstar Freddy's seemingly almost tired of being constantly shut down by the heater, said his infamous line so loud it could be heard over the chaos.
"Please deposit five coins!"
Baby's pupils shrank into pinpricks, and Afton's heart stopped.
"I SAID SHUT UP!" Scrap Baby screeched, whirling around as her eyes flew a vicious blood red.
There was the sound of metal snapping and twisting, and everything suddenly stopped.
Everyone in the office was frozen, staring at Baby with horrified expressions as she had her claw pierce straight through Rockstar Freddy's torso. The bear's mouth was hanging open, and his eyes showed nothing but pure terror.
"HOW HARD IS IT FOR YOU TO SHUT UP?!" Baby screeched, her volume so intense Music Man actually whimpered a bit in pain. "HOW HARD IS IT TO NOT BE LIKE THIS?! WHY DO YOU ALL HAVE TO SPITE ME?!"
Baby just lost it at that point, screaming her head off as she flailed her claw around, which swung Rockstar Freddy like a rag doll. Baby slammed him into the desks, wall, doors, everything in the room, each and every instance leaving visible damage.
And when her rage peaked, when she couldn't handle it anymore…
She slammed the bear down…
clicked the joints in her claw arm…
And pulled up.
Rockstar Freddy was split in half from the waist up, his head's plastic casing smashing into thousands of pieces and his metal endoskeleton head flying into the air as Baby's claw ripped all the way through. It crashed onto Afton's desk, nothing but a useless pile of scrap metal at this point.
Baby stood there, dead silent, frozen in the pose with her claw pointing straight up, eyes wide as a flurry of emotions completely exploded inside her. No one else said a word, fearful they could be on the end of Scrap Baby's wrath.
After a few moments, Baby simply rolled out of the room through the right door, a blank look on her face as she shoved past Rockstar Chica and Nightmare Mangle, heading towards the main dining area.
Back in the office, Lefty rushed in from the left door, and Molten bolted in from the vent, both of them looking over the absolute carnage and the remains of the fellow bear. Rockstar Freddy's legs were still standing, though with his head obliterated and rest of his body unrecognisable, it was safe to say he wasn't coming back any time soon.
"What the heck happened?!" The wire amalgam asked in shock.
"It was Baby", Afton said suddenly. "She clearly needs you two and Bonnie. Go, she left through the right door."
The two bears nodded and dashed after their friend as fast as they could, with the murderer slumping down in her chair and groaning. All the other animatronics just stayed where they were, unsure what to do now.
Cassidy, meanwhile, who was in her spot when Baby attacked Rockstar, was livid, and chased after the clown…
~X~
Yep, that just happened. Poor Rockstar Freddy, huh? Honestly, when I first thought of this fic, that was one thing I always wanted to have happen, simply because it was meant to be the peak of Baby's rage at the pizzeria and everything.
I was so excited to get to this point, seriously. This was a long time coming, so I'm so glad to finally have it out now!
I won't say much else, because I don't want to spoil what happens in the last two story chapters. So I'll shush up now and let y'all enjoy this story for what it is.
Up next: Baby confronts Cassidy, then rushes back to the Capital in tears with her three friends in tow…
