Yeah, new day new fic. This time is Fate Grand Order. I love and have lots of fanfiction plans for this but people vote on my OCs and this was the one they chose. I do plan for this to be easy to understand so that if you don't have that much knowledge of Nasuverse you can still follow along. Until enjoy the madness.

Chaldea Security Organization reports that in one year humanity itself will be extinct. Our researchers found out that this was because of the time-unknown space-time continuum in the Japanese city of Fuyuki in the year 2004. We have gathered candidates capable of using the Guardian Heroic Spirit Summoning System "FATE", but only one group come out of it alive. That is Team B, a backup unit, was supposed to be shadowing Team A and learning from them in case something went wrong. These are their reports.

Oliver watches the snowy storm outside the window as he waits for a member of the staff to escort him to a meeting with his supervisor. The young man wanted to go to sleep as he flew here long from California to the Antarctic. Oliver bites his lip nervously wondering if he has made the right call.

The job could be sketchy, to say the least. He was just visiting his mom who got into a car crash a while ago and was now in a coma. The doctors were doing everything they could and were sure they would help her. The young man was annoyed thinking that only said that, but the logical part of his mind told him they were doing their best given the circumstances.

He saw a blood drive and figured he might as well give some blood. Most people looked at him weirdly with pale skin, white hair, and pink eyes not letting him give blood, but they accepted him and later that night men in black suits came in and offered him a job. At first, he declined, but they offered him a lot of money if he accepted and a business card for him too.

His younger sister Jenny looked up the organization and found out that it is a research lab to help out humanity and is funded by UN sanctions. Looking at the state their house was in, the bills, and the debt they were in he decided to call them and take up their offer. His dad and siblings were supportive and made him promise to call them once he could; which he made good use of before, during, and after the plane ride.

"Miller?" Oliver's ears perked up as he heard his name. He turns to see a young lady waving at him. She has pink hair that goes to her shoulders, green eyes glasses, and dark skin, and wears a uniform shirt a white top, and a black skirt with black tights.

She holds her hand, "Hello, my name is Susie Hanover I am your team leader and here to show the ropes." Oliver smiled back and shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you," He said, setting down his bags so he couldn't talk to her better, "So I got a couple of questions about the job-" Two men in suits come in a carry his bags

"What the! Hey!" Oliver is about to chase after those men when Susie stops him.

"Don't worry they're just carrying your bags to your room." Susie explains and gestures for him to follow her, "I'll begin the tour." She said as she began to walk away.

"W-wait!" Oliver followed as Susie walked to explain the history of Chaldea. He sighed, wondering what he got himself into.

"...and so Chaldea was funded by Marisbury whose magus family has been watching the stars for ceremonies-" Susie explains to him on the way down the hallway. The white flood was so clean and the huge windows outside showed the outside world, which was a raging snowstorm. Oliver was so tired that it took a while for her to register what she was saying.

"Wait…I thought this research lab?" He asked. Susie stopped talking and turned to him.

"Oh, they didn't tell you?" She asked and Oliver shook his head.

Susie sighed, running her fingers in her hair, "When I get my hands on them I swear-," She noticed that Oliver looked at her in concern and shifted back to nice personally, "Sorry about that." She straightened herself up, "So how much do you know about mages?" Susie asked him.

"Enough to know you all are crazy," He joked, though a part of it was true. Magi were backstabbers from what his mom told him. Would lie, kill, and cheat for political gain, everyone in Clocktown(*) has killed before. They also do experiments on fellow humans and even some magus, and Clocktown doesn't bat an eye. They are only stepping in when it threatens them to be discovered rather than mortally mortally choices. Even then if they find the way to the Root(*) most magi would jump at that chance.

Susie laughs, "Well you're not wrong. But Marisbury is different; he cares." She told him, "He built this place to help humanity and brought us here to help." Susie told him.

Oliver smiled slightly, "Don't know if I can help. All I can do is analyze stuff." He told her.

Susie smiled and patted him on the shoulder, "Don't worry. I'm sure you do well on the team. We have time to practice because we just back up for Team A." She told him.

Oliver blinked, "What's Team A?" He asked her.

"They're best Masters hand-picked by Marisbury himself to help out Chaldea. Don't worry you'll meet them soon." She told him.

"Alright," He was fine with that. He just wants to sleep but Susie goes on and on. The young man tried to keep his eyes open, but it was getting hard. Oliver yawns and rubs his eyes. Susie was farther ahead and he tried to keep up but his limbs were stiff and soon the young fell. Covering his head with arms to soften his fall the young man passed out in the hallway. The floor was nice to sleep on thought Oliver as he drifted off to sleep.

"Zzzz…" Oliver snored but then something rough like a cat's tongue licked his cheek like a cat and pulled his hair.

"Feels like something just licked my cheek…" He mumbles and opens his eyes. What he saw was a squirrel-like creature with bunny-like ears. It was about the size of a cat or a small dog. The other creature was a raven. It's just a plain black raven with red eyes with cat-like pupils.

Olive blinked, "What the.."

"...Umm. Since it's neither morning nor night, please wake up, Senpai." A soft voice told him.

"Yeah, you know there are better places to sleep than on the ground you weirdo," A more childish voice giggled.

"Senpai!" Oliver opens his eyes and sees two girls standing before him. One girl has short lilac hair, lavender eyes, and fair skin. The other one had tan skin, red hair with blue tips tied in a short ponytail, blue eyes, and a scar on her nose. The red-hair wears the same outfit as Susie but the purple one wears rectangular frame glasses, a grey hoodie over a black shirt, a red tie, a black skirt and tights, and brown shoes.

"Who are you?" He asked them.

The girl with glasses spoke first, "That's a hard question to answer suddenly. Maybe I'm not important enough for you to know my name? No, I do have a name-"

"It's Mash Kyrielight," The red-haired cut in.

"Senpai!" The girl-Mash spoke up but the other girl cut her off.

"I won't let you put yourself up over something like this." The red-haired girl told her. Mash looks down blushing a bit and the girl turns to Oliver.

"Anyhow my name is Haelth Francis." She points at the squirrel-like creature, "That's Fou," Then points at the raven, "That's Umber a demon."

Oliver's eyes widen, "A-a demon?!" He jumped back.

The demon laughs, "Oh newbies have the best reaction." Oliver froze as raven demon hip on his knee, "Can I have your eyes?" They asked holding their talons under his eye to see how sharp they were, "They're so pretty~"

Haelth grabbed the raven, "Acck!"

"Umber stop messing with the new guy." She scolds them.

Umber gives her a deadpan look, "But it's fun!"

"Oliver!" Susie called out and Oliver went up, "There you are!" She exclaimed as she caught up with them, "Sorry that I left you. I thought you were right behind me." Susie tried to explain herself but Oliver simply waved his hands.

"It's fine," He said, trying to calm her down, "I just got tired from the long flight here. But these ladies help me out." Olver pointed to Mash and Haelth to Susie. Her green eyes look at the two ladies and she smiles.

"Haelth! Mash!" Susie greeted them and shook Haelth's hands, "It's good to see you!" Haelth and Mash smile.

"Greets Senpai!"

"Hey, Susie!"

The girls greet her and Oliver looks between them.

"You guys know each other?" He asked, they seemed close. Susie rubs the back of her head.

"Yeah we know each other for a while," She said pointing at Haelth, "Haelth here is part of our team." Oliver and Haelth form a perfect 'o' and Haelth turns to him.

"Oh, so you're the new guy!" Haelth exclaimed, happily, "Nice to meet you!"

Oliver laughed, "Nice to meet you too." Haelth grinned and let of Umber who flew and landed on her shoulder. The red-haired made a peace sign with both hands and pose.

"You're looking at the best curse user!" She exclaimed and Susie rolled her eyes playful.

"Sure you are." She said.

Oliver feels a weight on his shoulder and sees For sitting on it, "Oh hey little guy." He slowly petted the creature to not scare it and For sniffed his hand, leaning into it. Oliver gently petted the creature, his fur was so soft!

"Aww, he likes you!" Susie coos.

"Now that's not something you see every day," Haelth commented while Umber nodded.

"Yeah, normally he just ignores people and runs off." Umber narrowed their eyes at Fou and Oliver could have sworn that creature smiled smudging at him.

"Ah, there you are, Mash and Haelth. That won't do, you know, wandering about without permission." A new voice said and the group turned to the newcomer. A tall man with long bushy brown hair and wearing a green suit complete with a top hat.

"Oh hi Lev," Susie greeted. Oliver notices that Mash also stands up straight when the man appears while Umber clicks their beaks. Haelth covers their head. Seem Umber doesn't like Lev that much. Then again they also disregard Oliver. Maybe it's a demon thing.

"Lev meet our newest member Oliver Miller." Susie points at him.

Oliver straightened him and held out his hand, "Hello my name is Oliver. It's nice to meet you."

Lev smiled and shook his hand, "I'm glad you're here. I heard you were selected out of many public applicants, how long was your training? A year? 6 months? 3 months?" Oliver gulped nervously and shook his head.

"I'll only be here for hours." He answered him. There's no reason to hide that.

Lev raises an eyebrow, "Oh? So you're a complete amateur? Right… Come to think of it, we did call for applicants just to fill in numbers." Oliver feels his pride took a blow. Like yeah, it was true but don't remind him. Lev seems to sense this and adds in, "Do forgive me, I was inconsiderate. But please don't be discouraged because you're a public applicant. We need all of you for this mission. 38 elite mages, plus 10 talented public applicants… Somehow, we were able to gather all possible candidates. That's something to rejoice over. This year, 2017, all possible candidates capable of Spiritron Dives(*) were brought to Chaldea. If there's something you don't understand, feel free to ask Mash, Susie, or me anytime…"

"What am I chopped liver?" Haelth asked and Umber snicker.

Lev laughed, "Well…sometimes you don't pay that much attention and Umber sometimes lies."

Haelth stomps her foot, "Hey!"

Umber rolled their eyes, "Not my fault they believe in a demon like me. They should know better." They show off their fangs.

Oliver looked confused and startled, "Woah! What meeting?!"

"It's an orientation for newbies like you," Susie explained to him.

Lev laughed, "That is true but the Director has signed so many, many leashes." Then he thought of something, "Hmm? Come to think of it, what were you talking about with them, Mash? That's not like you. Did you know each other before?"

Mash shook her head, "No, I'd never met Senpai before. I saw Senpai sleeping here, so I just…"

A lightbulb went off in Lev's head, "I see must be from a long flight," He walked close to Oliver, "You seem to be fine, but I'd like to take you to the infirmary just in case." Oliver straightened and was about to follow Lev when Haelth reminded them.

"Wait, Lev! The meeting!" She told him and Lev coughed.

"Oh, right. My mistake," He coughs in his hand, "Sorry, hang in there a little longer. The Director's orientation is about to start. You should hurry over." He told him.

Susie smacks her forehead, "Oh the meeting!" She grabs Haelth and Oilver pushes them down the hall, "We better go!"

Mash nodded, "Yes, sir." She is about to catch up, but Lev stops her.

"Mash," She stopped and turned to him.

"Yes, Lev?" She asked, tilting her head.

Lev smiled softly at her, "Can you help out Susie with her new teammate? That poor girl is going through a lot of stress lately and could use all the help she can get."

Mash nodded, "Understood. I'll make sure to help Senpai." With that, she runs down the hall, and Lev smiles at seeing Mash's form run down.

"Make sure you do."

Oliver and the three girls got into the elevator. Mash pushes a button and Oliver feels the elevator move down. It was silent for a moment which almost lulled Oliver to sleep. The boy having a hard time keeping his eyes open. The boy having a hard time keeping his eyes open. He feels that if he doesn't talk, he'll pass out, which is not good for him if he is meeting the Director.

"So…" Oliver started and the girls snapped their attention at him. Thinking quickly he asked, "Are there any other team members besides Haelth here?" He asked Susie. Umber narrowed their eyes at him.

"What am I?" They click their beck and Oliver holds out his hands.

"Sorry I thought-"

"You thought I was just familiar and therefore just another extension of Haelth." Umber cut him off. Oliver rubbed his arm because he did not think of who glared at him.

"Umber is more than a pet." Haelth let out an annoyed huff, "And it's best if you remember that."

Umber grabs her ear with their beck, "Enough. I can fight my own battles. And besides he thinks you are a mage. What did you expect?" They pointed out.

Haelth looked at that darkly, "I will never be one of them." She hissed. Oliver gulps seeing this seem like a sore subject. Susie patted her shoulder and Haelth calmed down, "Sorry."

"It's ok Haelth." Susie smiled at her and Haelth returned, "But to answer your question." Susie turns her attention to Oliver, "Team B has two other members: Scott Evergreen who is the best beast magecraft(*) and Melody is a genius at eastern magecraft. They can't come due to Scott… picking a with Beryl who is a member of Team A." She explained to him.

"…." Oliver saw that Mash and Haelth were looking down. While Umber clicks their beak.

"But where are they now?" He asked her. Susie took in a deep breath and sighed.

"Melody was caught looking through files of old Director Marisbury. Those that are classified." Oliver blinked in surprise. While he hasn't been here long, going to the files of anyone in the workplace clear violation. Especially if they are classified.

"Why?" He asked. Susie sighed and rubbed her temples.

"That's the thing I don't know. They never told me, Scott or Haelth and Umber. They did it behind our back and are now being held up in a cell until the Director decides on a punishment." Oliver notices that Susie shrugs her shoulders and sighs. She is under stress and losing sleep because of the dark rings around her eyes.

"Sorry to hear about that," He told her, and Susie just waved him off.

"It's…fine I held it," The door opened and Oliver was greeted in a large room with rows, upon rows of people. In the center of the room, there was a large orb with six rings circling it. Oliver cranes his neck up and can see some people behind windows looking down on them typing on keywords. He couldn't make out their faces but he saw in front of a large orb in front of a group of people a while short woman with golden-amber eyes. Her outfit is a white dress and a black and gold jacket with a red tie. As soon as she saw their little group she crossed her arms and shot them a glare.

"Well, that wasn't on time. But it looks like we're all here now."

Oliver tried to keep his open as the lady induction herself.

"Welcome to Special Organization, Chaldea. I'm the Director, Olga Marie Animusphere. You have been selected, or discovered from each nation for your rare—" Oliver almost fell asleep but shook his head to stay awake. He saw Mash staying a few away with another group. Susie told him that was Team A. They all stand up tall and wait for the orders that the Director was giving out. They do seem ready for whatever is about to go down. He looks at Susie and Haelth who also paying attention too. The boy feels out of place in all of this. As if he hasn't been here for that long. He wonders if-

His vision slowly whited out and when he awoke to a hard slap. He woke up and saw Mash was carrying him and Haelth comforting Susie who was holding her head and breathing quickly.

"Whaaat happened?" He groaned. Mash peeked up and put her hands on his face to look at him.

"...Are you all right, Senpai?" She asked him.

Oliver blushed and rubbed his face, "Yeah, I'm fine just," He looked around and then looked at Mash, "..Wait, was I asleep?" He asked.

"Yes," Umber hissed, they flew and pecked at him, "Quite a foolish move if ask me. Not only do you get in line with the Director's wrath but drag the whole team down. You idiot!" They pecked at him. Oliver yelps and Haelth rushes over and grabs the demon raven.

"Enough!" She shouted at them, "It's already done Umber! There's no reason to keep going at him." Haelth glared down at them. Umber rolled their red eyes.

"Susie is having a panic attack and you got blame for it. God forbid I look over you, stupid humans." They hissed at her. Haelth rolled her eyes, Mash walked to her and put her hand on Haelth's shoulder.

"Look, it's fine. Director just needs some time to cool down that's all." She said, but Oliver did notice her eyes shift slightly. Did she believe that?

"Y-you're right," Susie collected herself and straightened her hair out before standing tall again, "Let's should Oliver his room." Susie forces a smile on her. Mash furrowed her eyebrows in concern and followed her. Haelth pushes Oliver along.

"Come on let's get moving," She said.

Oliver followed along with her, "Right." They all got to the elevator and Susie pushed the bottom to go upper floor. Once the door opens a blur of white fur jumps on Mash's face. Oliver screams but the girls coo while Umber rolls their eyes.

"Fou!"

"No, no, this is normal. No problem at all! Fou likes to attack my face, slide around to my back, and settle on my shoulder." Mash said as For settled on her shoulder, purring.

"Just keeping up with the cute act because you like the lady's attention," Oliver heard Umber mumble under their breath. For narrowed his eyes and hopped from Mash's shoulder to Haelth and knocked them off, "Hey!" Fou has a cheeky grin as he sits on Haelth's shoulder. Who gladly pet him.

"Fluffy~ Fluffy~"

"Fou! Fou!"

Umber scoffed, "You're the most petty creature I know." They flew up to Haelth's other shoulder. Fou was about to knock them off again but Mash grabbed him.

"Fou stop it. Umber learns a lesson." Before Umber could say anything Haelth covered their mouth.

"Yes, they did it." She said smiling as Umber mumbled insults behind Haelth's hand. Oliver leans to Susie and whispers.

"Is this normal?" He asked her.

Susie laughed, "Yes, Fou and Umber have a bit of rivalry going on." She explained as the group made their way down the hallway. Oliver decides to make some small talk with Mash because unlike with other girls, he hasn't talked that much to her.

"So you're used to having Fou in your face, huh?" He asked her. Mash blinked in surprise he was talking to her, but smiled when Fou nuzzled her cheek.

"Yes. It's been a year since Fou came to live here." She told him.

"So where did Fou come from?" He asked. Was there like Magi's pet store or something? Or ritual. Speaking of, Oliver looks at Umber on Haelth's shoulders, where did Umber come from?

"Fou just appeared on a day in my room," Mash told him. Oliver looks at her in disbelief.

"Just…appear in thin air?" He questioned her. He looks at Fou, maybe he can. Fou seems small and fast enough to sneak into the base.

"Yes, Senpai," She petted on his ear which he purred and nuzzled in her hand, "He just suddenly there. We tried to look up what kind of creature Fou was but nothing came up." Mash explained to him. Oliver hums as the mystery of Fou is deeper.

"Wait, are you the one who named him?" Oliver asked her.

Mash nodded, "That's right. No special reason, the word "Fou" is the first thing that popped into my mind. I'm impressed you knew that, Senpai. I see you're quite perceptive yourself." Oliver smiled at that.

"Oh it's nothing-!" Oliver yelped as Fou jumped to Oliver's shoulder and nuzzled his cheek.

"Fou. Kuuu, Fou! Fou!"

Mash's eyes brighten seeing Fou nuzzling up to Oliver.

"Hmm, hmm. Fou's embraced you as one of his own, Senpai. But can a squirrel who sees humans as rivals exist in this world?" She wonders out loud.

"I think you looking too hard into that Mash," Susie laughed.

"Whatever you do Oliver don't fight," Haelth told him, "You will lose."

"I keep that in mind." He said to her. Finally, they got to his room. Susie turns to Mash with a smile.

"Thank you for coming all this way." She said, "I know you have to go back to your Team"

Mash nodded, "Yes I have to."

"Kyu… Kyu!" Fou jumped on Oliver's shoulder. Umber grumbles under their breath and Haelth covers their mouth.

"Fou says he'll look after you, Senpai. That sets my mind at ease. Now, then, I'm off. If we're lucky, I think we'll meet again." With that, she left.

Oliver turns to others, "Is Team A that hard to talk to?" He asked them.

"Most of them are high-class families and therefore a lot more guarded," This makes sense, as from what Oliver's mom told him mage families will kill each other for power and status, even their kin. So noble-born are on the highest list, "Though, Pepe is nice and Mash opens up to you, which is unusual for her because you are a stranger. But I'm sure if you want to talk to them they'll allow it." She told him. Oliver smiles, at least he's getting along with his coworkers. He finds that if you do make the day go by smoothly.

He opens the door to the room where he is staying. The first thing he sees is a man with peach-colored hair sitting cross-legged on his bed. He has long, fluffy hair pulled into a ponytail and is currently eating some cake topped with strawberries. There is a tray with a small teapot and teacup at his feet, set just behind the laptop that rests on one of his legs. There was another young man with dark-skinned, short puffy black hair with green eyes. He was sitting next to an older man watching the laptop with a bored expression.

Oliver couldn't help but scream which caused a long-hair scream too. Even go so far as to jump to the ceiling and cling to it much to Oliver's shock.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" They shouted at each other. Susie and Haelth meanwhile greeted the other man with a smile.

"Hey, Scott!" Susie waved her hand.

"Why are you here?" Haelth pops up from behind him and jumps on his back. Scott groaned and held Haelth's legs so she could get a piggyback ride.

"Doctor Romani invited me," He told them. The girls look at the two men that just screaming at each other.

"Should we stop them?" Susie asked.

Haelth giggled, "No, wait! I want to see how long this lasts!"

"Oh… I see, so the last one finally showed up, huh?" The long-haired doctor said, crossing his arms as he sat in the bed.

"Yes, sir," Olive choked out. Susie, Scott, and Haelth all sit in the bed with Romani and Oliver as they form this circle around the laptop. Haelth's eyes were glued to the screen of the idol lady on stage singing. Umber and Fou were eating some cake the Romani left on the trey. Scott and Susie were silent, watching all of this.

'When did my life get this strange?' Oliver thought.

"Well, nice to meet you, Oliver. Didn't think I would run into you like this, but let me introduce myself." Romani holds out his hand for him to shake, "I'm the head of the medical department, Romani Archaman. For some reason, people just call me Dr. Roman. I don't know why, but it's easier to pronounce, so go ahead and call me Roman. The fact is, Roman has a nice ring to it, no? It sounds cool and vaguely sweet." He rumbled on about his name.

Oliver laughed, "It's a nice soundly name," He said shaking Romani's hand. At least he seems normal.

Haelth looks at the laptop with the idol dancing on the screen and her eyes widen.

"You're watching Magi Mari again and you didn't tell me!" Haelth glared at Romani. Romani yelped and waved his hands.

"Sorry, sorry!" He chuckled nervously even if Haelth was smiling in good nature, "I was going to record it for you after the mission."

Haelth smiled, "Thank you, Romani! But I was kidding. You're so fun to tease~" She stuck out her tongue at him. Romani laughs, and they begin to talk about their favorite idols. It seems they get along well.

"So you're the new guy," Scott turned to him and Oliver straightened up.

"Y-yes," He looked up at the other boy and noticed how fit he was. A blush crept up on his cheeks, "I'm Oliver Miller." He holds out his hand.

Scott took it, and he hoped his hand wasn't sweaty, "Scott Evergreen." He let go of his hand and Oliver pulled it back, "So what's your magecraft?" He asked.

Oliver gulped, "It's nothing special just analyze stuff." Scott let out a hmmm sound.

"Do you have mystic eyes(*)?" He wondered out loud looking at his red eyes. Oliver leaned back as he got close.

"Umm…well."

Susie spoke up, "Scott back up. You're scaring him." She pointed out.

Scott blinked in surprise, "I'm sorry." He said backing off which Oliver was grateful for and did look bashfully, looking down. Maybe he didn't realize how pushing it was a bad idea. So Oliver smiled and waved his hand.

"Hey, it's all good." He said. Oliver watched as Umber chewed some of Haelth's cake while she wasn't paying attention. When she did the red-haired tried to grab it only for Umber to pull it away.

"Hey! You little shit! Give it back" She shouted, reaching for it only for the demon to pull it from her grasp by fly. Haelth was about to jump but Susie held her down.

Umber laughed, "You snooze, you lose-" A white blur reached out and grabbed it.

"Hey!" Umber growled and Fou smiled smugly.

"Fou!" The creature said before digging in. Umber landed right next to them and to Oliver's surprise turned to them and nodded to them and the demon. Guess they don't hate each other that much.

"Oh!" Romani's eyes look at the demon and creature, "is that the mysterious creatures I've heard so much about? Whoa, nice to meet you! Mash and Haelth told me a lot about them, but I didn't think he existed… Hey, why don't I teach them some tricks? Okay, shake hands. If you do it well, I'll give you a snack." Umber and Fou stop eating the cake and give Romani a stare for five seconds before back to their meal.

"Huh, what?" A small bead of sweat rolled down the side of Roman's face, "He gave me a pitying look and then completely ignored me…" Haelth gives him a pat on the shoulder.

"There, there."

Romani cleared his throat, "A-Anyway, I think I get what's going on. You're the rookie who just got here and then got on the Director's bad side?" Oliver nodded, "then you and I are alike. Just so you know, I got yelled at by her too. You know the Rayshift experiment's about to start, right? The entire staff's been sent to help out. But since my job was to look after everyone's health, I had nothing to do. The machines are more accurate at reading the vitals of the mages who are in the Coffins." He cleared his throat and tried his best to imitate Olga, "The Director said, "When you're here, Romani, everyone slacks off!" Then she threw me out. So I've been sulking here. But that's when you showed up. This is what they called a blessing in disguise right? Since we both have nowhere to go, why don't we spend some time and deepen our friendship!"

Oliver laughs and rubs, "Sure. This is my room, anyhow."

"Yeah. So that means I'm visiting a friend's room! Woo hoo! I've made a new friend!" Romani cheer.

Haelth giggled and whispered to Oliver, "You believe this man is 30?"

"What?"

Oliver listens as Romani tells him about how Chaldea was built and its history. Some stuff Susie already explained to him but he didn't know SHEBA(The glowing orb he saw earlier) was how Chaldea could see into the future but also the past as well. They did it by mixing technology and magic to make a perfect replica of Earth and its soul to see its status. This all sounds so cool.

Beep!

Romani stops his rumbling and sets the coffee at the tree. He clicks a button on his watch and a hologram pops out, it doesn't have a picture and just mostly says, 'SOUND ONLY.'

"Romani, we're going to start the Rayshift soon. Could you come here in case there's an emergency? The A Team is in perfect condition, but the C Team on the down is less experienced and they are displaying some slight abnormalities. It probably comes from anxiety. The inside of that Coffin is like a cockpit." Lev asked of him.

"Hey Lev, I feel bad about them. Why don't I give them some anesthesia?" He replied.

"Yeah, hurry up, will you? If you're in the infirmary, then you can get here in two minutes." Lev told him and Romani nodded. He woke up and got out the bed.

"..but you're just hiding and slacking…" Oliver teases him.

Romani blushed, "Whoa… Please don't mention that… It's gonna take five minutes from here, no matter what… Well, I think they'll forgive me for being a little later."

"Sounds like a slacker would say," Haelth tease him.

Romani felt a small bead of sweat roll down to the side of his face.

"I'm being bullied…" The duo laughed, while Susie covered her mouth and giggled, Scott just sat there.

"Team C has no issues anyway. Oh, that guy's named Lev Lainur. He's the man who created the Near-Future Observation Lens, Sheba— A telescope used to observe that pseudo-planet, Chaldeans like I told you before. Sheba not only observes Chaldeas but also serves as a surveillance system for most of this facility. Also, it was the previous director who built the summoning/unsummoning system, which is the foundation of the Rayshift tech. To actualize that theory, the Pseudo-Spiritron Calculation Engine which is a supercomputer) was provided by the Atlas Academy(*)." Romani told them

Oliver tilted his head in confusion. What was the Atlas Academy?

"All these different talents have been gathered to carry out this mission. It's pointless for an ordinary doctor like me to be there, but if I'm summoned, I must go. Thanks for chatting with me, guys! When you get settled in, come by the infirmary. Next time, I'll treat you to some yummy cake." He said getting to the door.

"You better!" Haelth grinned at Romani

Before he asked, the room went dark. Romani, Susie, Scott, and Haelth sniffed. Emergency lights bathe the room red. Even Umber and Fou who was asleep woke up and was alarmed. Their fur and feathers stood up and their eyes scanned.

"What's this?" Romani sounds confused.

"A power outage?" Oliver suggested

"That's not supposed to happen." Susie got up slowly, "Chaldea was built to never lose power." Oliver felt his stomach drop when he heard that.

Boom!

The world seemed to shake and Oliver braced himself when the room shook. Scott groaned as he helped Susie. Haelth yelps but cling to the bed. Umber narrowed their eyes and Fou was strangely silent. An incom clicked and Oliver's nerves fired up.

"Emergency. Emergency. A fire has broken out in the Central Power Station and the Central Command Room. Central Area's containment wall will activate in 90 seconds. All staff must evacuate from Gate 2 at once. The containment wall will close in 40 seconds. Those remain in Central Area, evacuate immediately—"

"Was that an explosion just now? What on earth is happening?" Romani panicked as open the door. Scott, Susie, and Haelth follow him. Umber flew ahead while Fou ran. Oliver with no choice followed them to see what was going on.

"Monitor, show us the Command Room! Is everybody all right?" Romani click on his watch. Susie was behind him looking worried.

"Fou! Fou!" Fou tugged on Oliver's hair and rushed down to the hallway.

"Ow, what?" He shouted, what was Fou doing? Haelth seems to catch her because her eyes widen.

"Mash…" The group's eyes widen and Scott is the first to go off running to the Command Room.

"Scott wait!" Susie called out. Haelth took off after him.

"You stupid idiots you're going to get all killed!" The demon raven flew after them.

"Wait!" Romani shouted but Susie put her hand on his shoulder pushing him back.

"Romani get in contact with anyone and see what happened. I get them back." With that, she leaves too. Romani stomped his foot and scratched his head in frustration.

"Damnit," He cursed before turning to Oliver, "Oliver evacuate right now. I'm going to the Command Room with them. The containment wall is about to close. Get yourself out before it's too late!" He said chasing after them.

Oliver was at a crossroads. Should he leave or stay? He just met these guys but he can't leave them like this. Their life or his, their life or his, their life or his, their life or his, their life or his…

He screamed in frustration and followed them.

Smoke and fire greeted the group as they got to the Command Room. Oliver reeled in horror to see burned bodies lying limp at the desks.

"...No survivors. Only Chaldeas is safe. This was where the explosion originated. This was no accident, it was sabotage." Romani mumbled looking at the wrecked room.

"But who could have done this?" Susie asked him. Romani gave her shook his head. He has no idea…

"Less focus on that for now and check to see if anyone is alive!" Haelth shouted as she charged forward with Scott and Umber behind her.

"Mash!" Scott and Haelth shouted as they looked. Umber flew around seemingly unaffected by the smoke and flames.

Romani wipes a sweat from his face, "...I'm heading down to the underground power station. We can't let Chaldea's light go out. Hurry up and go back the way we came. You can still make it. Listen, don't stop anywhere on the way! Go outside, and wait for help!" He told them as he headed to the hallway.

Susie and Oliver looked at each other and headed to where the rest of Team B went off too.

"Generator operation stopped. Power level critical. Switch to the backup generator, error. Please make the switch manually. Containment wall will close in 40 seconds. Those remain in Central Area, evacuate immediately— "

"Mash!" They all shouted. Some were burned or bleeding on the ground. Dead all of them.

Oliver bites back the bile as minds the broken glasses of the giant tube-like machine. He saw where some of the other employees that he saw in the meeting in those machines. He tried to open them because some of the people trapped in there seemed to be breathing but it was hard to tell. He hissed as the heated metal burned him as soon as touched it.

Susie noticed this and rushed to his side.

"Are you alright?" She asked and grabbed his palm.

"I'm fine," He mumbled but Susie saw his burned skin.

"No, you're not." She said and raised her hand over his. The veins on her wrist glowed and a warm feeling healed his hands. The pain was gone and flexed his hands. They were alright.

"Thanks," He said looking at her hands. So her magecraft was healing huh?

"You're welcome." She said and then suddenly Fou's ears peaked and he jumped off of Oliver's shoulder.

"Fou! Fou!" Susie and Oliver followed the creature.

"System switching to the final phase of the Rayshift. Coordinates, AD 2004, January, 30th, Fuyuki, Japan. Laplace's shifting protection was established. Singularity's additional factor slot is secured. Unsummon Program set. Please start final adjustments."

"Mash!" Susie called out.

"S-senpai…" They heard her. Susie and Oliver scan the room and under rubble they find her. Oliver's stomach drop seeing the pool of blood under her. Mash's body was pinned under rubble from the waist down.

"Guys we found her!" He called out and he heard the rest of the group stop and rush to them.

"Is she ok?" Scott asked as he got closer to Haelth and Umber followed

Oliver shook his head and their face fell.

"...It's all...right. You can't...save...me. Don't mind me, please… Run." Mash pleaded.

Haelth shook her head, "Not a chance."

Scott looks for a way to dig her out, "Sit tight we get you out."

Susie meanwhile sizes up the massive stone stab that pins Mash down. She took off her glasses and handed it to Oliver.

"Hold this," She said as turn to stone stab.

He notices that her green eyes are now glowing blue eyes.

"Scott, Haelth get ready." Scott nodded and his hands transformed into claws with fur growing on his arms. Susie pulls out a…pocket knife.

"Um… not sure if that would work-" Oliver cut off as Susie cut the stab in two. Haelth and Scott immediately push the stab away from Mash, "N-nevermind!" He stuttered out and helped drag poor Mash away. It looked bad as her spine seemed to snap and her legs were crooked. She might not walk again.

"Can you heal her?" He asked Susie as he handed her back her glasses. Her eyes turn back green and rubs her temple, groaning.

"I-I need an x-ray to see the damage." She mumbled.

"...That's right, thank you… For your understanding. Please, everyone, you need to...get out of here." Mash plead.

Scott shook his head as his hands turned back into a hand.

"Not without you," His voice was choked back. Haelth was close to crying while Susie had a somber look. Olive bit back the bile. This was awful. Who could do this?

Suddenly the sphere in the center of the room turns red.

"Warning all observation staff. Chaldeas' state has changed. Now rewriting Sheba's near-future prediction data. Unable to detect the existence of mankind 100 years in the near future of Earth. Unable to confirm human survivors. Unable to guarantee mankind's future."

"Chaldeas...has turned bright red… No, never mind, that-" Mash mumbled, Oliver didn't know what that meant but judging from the look of shock and despair of the others. He knows it's not a good answer.

"No…" Susie mumble.

"...We need to get out," Umber said. Flying up and pulling on Haelth's collar, "Now!" They hissed.

"Central Area, sealed. 180 seconds till internal containment procedure."

"...they, shut off, the area...Now, we can't get out." Mash told them. It was so quiet that all he could hear was the sounds of the flames.

"Ahahaha…" Oliver laughs weakly as he sits next to Mash, "We're going to die."

Haelth snapped back, "No we're not! There's got to be another way!" She looks at Scott and Susie, "...Right?" She choked out.

"..."

"It's…okay to cry, Senpai…" Mash reached out, "It's…okay."

"Coffin Vitals: Masters Baseline not reached. Rayshift requirement not met. Searching for qualifying Masters...found."

"Mash save your strength," Scott said holding her hand, "Stay with us!" He shouted as Mash was closing her eyes.

Haelth couldn't take it. She grabs Oliver's shoulder and yanks him off.

"What are you-" He shouted but haelth cut him off.

"Come on we need to find a way out or we all die." She orders him. Oliver gulped but nodded. She turns to Susie, "Stay with Mash. Me and newbie will find a way out."

Susie nodded, "OK. But if you can't find a way out for all of us take Umber and Oliver."

Haelth's eyes widen, "...You're joking right?"

Susie shook her head firmly, "No. This is an order from your team lead. If can't find a way for all to leave then take Oliver and go!"

"But-"

"Go." Haelth looked like she wanted to argue but one look from Susie and the girl back down. She took Oliver and they left to find a way out.

"Candidate No.27 Haelth, Candidate No. 30 Scott, Candidate No.36 Susie, Candidate No. 39 Kris, and Candidate No. 48, Oliver reset as Master. Unsummon Program, start. Spiritron Conversion, start."

"...Um...Sen...pai?" Mash choked out some blood, "Would you mind…holding my hand?"

Scott feels tears well up in his eyes, "Sure…." He holds her hand.

Susie cried as she collapsed next to her, "M-mash I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" She cried. Fou rubbed his cheek against Mash's vigorously and cried out softly.

"It's…okay…" Mash tried to comfort Fou, "I'm just…tried."

"It's ok…we're here," Susie said, gently rubbing her hand on Mash's back, "You don't have to stay awake if you don't want to."

"We're," Scott choked back a sob, "here."

Mash smiles, "Thanks…I'm glad…I have met you."

"Rayshift starting in 3…"

"Come on!" Haelth called out to Oliver as he was lagging.

"I'm going as fast as I can!" He said.

"2…"

"...Now what's going on here?"

"1…"

Scott and Susie still stand by Mash's side while Scott holds her hand.

"All procedures clear. First Order, commencing operation."

The area got brighter and brighter around them. Before anyone could do anything there was a bright flash-and Team B saw no more.

Clocktown: Where The Mage's Association resides. They are leaders of Mage World. The Clock Tower is the faction belonging to Brishisan, a student of Solomon, who was one of the people to found the Mage's Association during 0 AD, alongside Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, a fellow student of Solomon, and other Magi. The Mage's Association split into three separate factions as of 20 AD, Atlas, and the Wandering Sea rejecting the modernization of Magecraft and the Director's following deciding to embrace it. The Clock Tower was officially formed in 500 AD. Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg was a founding member of the Clock Tower. It's located at the British Museum. It is also where future mages can learn advanced mage craft but the bar is high to get in.

Root: Source of everything in Nasuverse. Almost everything comes from it. Any mage content with it will learn True Magic. Once a route is used, it is closed for good upon becoming established. If one isn't entered, it can be left until someone does claim it, thus closing it off for good.

Beast Magecraft: The field of Magecraft that utilizes one's bestial nature. Beast Magecraft was the sort of Magecraft that changed the user. It wasn't just the Magic Circuits that were altered, but the things that connected them as well, like nerves, muscles, or bones. What modern medicine could not transplant could also be affected, like skin, or even parts of the brain.

Mystic eyes: Are a form of supernatural power concentrated in the eyes, granting the power to interfere with the outer world through sight alone. The Mystic Eyes are the oldest Magecraft known to humans, deriving from neither ritual nor study. There are three types, Commons, Nobles Colors, and Special Mystic Eyes.

Atlas: This is one of the three major branches of the Mage's Association that specializes in Alchemy. The Atlas Temple predates even the Clock Tower, existing at least as far back as the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt being originally a gathering of those with little magical ability due to having a small number of Magic Circuits. Since Magic Circuits are paths connecting to the Root and Magi use these to bring their ideal future closer, those with meager Magic Circuits could rely only upon their intellect to make that ideal future, deciding to take a completely natural approach and proceed forward as humans to achieve their goals. It is located somewhere among the mountains of Egypt.
