Chapter 12: meeting Eri
Hey everyone, I'm back with a new chapter! Sorry it took me so long to update; I've been working on other stories. Please like and enjoy!
Musutafu Streets- Evening
The Miraculous team, Jake and Fang, were walking home from UA High School.
"Man, I'm beaten," Jake sighed, rubbing his temples. "Especially after all those tests. What do you think tomorrow is going to bring us, Fang?"
"I don't know, really, but I'm hoping tomorrow will be better without Aizawa-sensei trying to expel us," Fang replied, Leo, fluttering out of his pocket.
"Come on, guys, you know he was joking. We all know it, right?" Leo chimed in.
"Sure he was," Fang muttered, rolling his eyes. "Okay, okay, guys. Hey, um, why don't we check on Dad at the hospital?" Jake suggested nervously.
"Yeah, we haven't seen them for a while. You know what? Let's go check on him," Fang agreed.
As they were about to continue walking, Jake didn't notice someone running into him from an alleyway.
"Eh?" Jake grunted as he felt something hit him, causing him to lose his footing slightly. He looked down to see the person responsible for this—a small girl, Fang noted.
"She's just a little girl," Fang observed quietly.
The girl was around 5-7 years old, with messy bluish off-white hair, a scared expression, and bandages wrapped around her arms and legs. Her name was Eri.
Jake noticed the terrified look on her face and felt concern wash over him. "Well, that's not a good sign," he thought to himself.
"Hey, kid, are you alright?" Jake asked gently, offering his hand to help her up. But the girl flinched and backed away from him, visibly scared.
"What's wrong? Why is she so scared?" Fang asked, his concern growing.
Before they could react further, a male voice interrupted them, causing the little girl to flinch again.
"You should be more careful," the man said, stepping out of the darkness of the alley. He had a pale complexion, shaggy auburn hair, and wore a dark olive-green bomber jacket, a plague mask over his mouth, and white surgical gloves.
His name was Kai Chisaki, also known as the Villain: Overhaul.
"We don't want to cause trouble for anyone now, do we?" Overhaul said in a calm but irritated tone.
Jake's instincts told him that something was off about this man, and the way Eri reacted only heightened his concern.
"We weren't causing any trouble," Jake said cautiously, eyeing the man warily. "We were just checking if she was okay."
Overhaul's gaze shifted between Jake and Fang, his expression unreadable behind the mask. "It's not about what you were doing. It's about the potential trouble you could cause," he replied cryptically.
Fang stepped forward, his protective instincts kicking in. "Look, we don't want any trouble either. We'll just be on our way," he said firmly.
But before they could leave, Overhaul held up a hand, stopping them in their tracks. "Not so fast. You've already involved yourselves in this," he said, his tone turning colder.
Jake exchanged a glance with Fang, silently communicating their shared unease. "What do you mean?" Jake asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
Overhaul's eyes narrowed behind the mask, and he took a step closer, the air around him becoming palpably tense. "You've stumbled into something far beyond your understanding," he said ominously. "And now, you're going to help me clean up the mess."
Jake felt a chill run down his spine at the man's words. Whatever trouble they had found themselves in, it seemed they were in too deep to simply walk away.
"What do you want from us?" Jake asked, his voice tinged with apprehension.
But before Overhaul could respond, Eri let out a whimper, clutching onto Jake's pant leg tightly. Her eyes were wide with fear, and Jake's heart clenched at the sight.
"We have to protect her," Fang whispered to Jake, his voice low but resolute.
Jake nodded in agreement, steeling himself for whatever was to come. With Eri's safety at stake, they had no choice but to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
In the dimly lit alley, tension hung heavy in the air as Jake, Fang, and Overhaul squared off. The girl cowered behind Jake, her eyes wide with fear, while Jake's expression hardened with determination.
"You've got nowhere to run, kid," Overhaul growled, his gaze icy as he advanced towards Jake.
Jake tightened his grip on the girl, shielding her from harm. "We're not running," he declared, his voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through his veins. "We're standing our ground."
Fang positioned himself strategically, ready to leap into action at a moment's notice. "Let's show him what we're made of, Jake," he said, his voice resolute.
With a menacing glare, Overhaul launched himself forward, his movements swift and precise. Fang reacted instinctively, summoning a wall of ice to intercept the attack, the frosty barrier crackling with energy as it clashed with Overhaul's quirk.
Jake seized the opportunity to counter, his movements fluid and precise as he leaped into action with a flurry of punches and kicks. Each strike was met with equal force from Overhaul, their blows echoing through the narrow alley.
As the battle raged on, Jake and Fang coordinated their attacks, their movements synchronized as they worked together to fend off Overhaul's relentless assault. Fang unleashed torrents of ice, creating barriers to impede Overhaul's advance, while Jake focused on protecting the girl from harm.
"Stay close to me!" Jake called out to the girl, his voice a steady reassurance amidst the chaos.
The girl nodded, her small frame trembling as she clung to Jake for safety.
Overhaul, undeterred by their defiance, pressed forward with renewed ferocity, his quirk crackling ominously as he closed in on Jake and Fang. But the duo remained undaunted, their resolve unyielding in the face of danger.
As the ground erupted with spikes, Jake's instincts kicked in, and he swiftly scooped up the girl, Eri, into his arms. "Kwasi, spots on!" he called out, his wristband glowing brightly as he transformed into Beetle.
With Eri safe in his arms, Beetle wasted no time. He summoned his trusty yo-yo, the familiar weight of it reassuring in his hand. With a flick of his wrist, he sent the yo-yo whirling through the air, its momentum carrying them both to the safety of a nearby rooftop.
Meanwhile, Fang stood his ground against Overhaul, his icy powers at the ready. With a determined expression, he conjured a series of ice barriers, each one blocking the deadly spikes that rained down upon them.
Overhaul's fury only seemed to intensify, his attacks growing more relentless with each passing moment. But Fang remained steadfast, his focus unwavering as he continued to defend himself and Jake against the villain's onslaught.
As Beetle gently set Eri down on the rooftop, he turned his attention back to the fray below. With a determined set to his jaw, he knew that they couldn't let Overhaul get the upper hand. With a swift motion, he summoned his lucky charm, its power coursing through him as he prepared to rejoin the fight.
Down below, Fang unleashed a barrage of ice projectiles, each one aimed with deadly precision at Overhaul. The villain dodged and weaved through the icy onslaught, his movements graceful yet deadly as he closed in on his targets.
But Beetle was ready. With a flick of his yo-yo, he sent it spinning towards Overhaul, the enchanted weapon crackling with energy as it sailed through the air. With a swift motion, he followed up with a series of lightning-fast punches and kicks, each one aimed at driving the villain back.
The battle raged on, the clash of powers echoing through the night air. But Beetle and Fang refused to back down, their determination unyielding as they fought to protect Eri and defeat Overhaul once and for all.
"Okay, we need to stop this guy once and for all! Lucky Charm!" Jake shouted, throwing his yoyo into the air. As it spun, something created from it materialized.
Meanwhile, Fang faced Overhaul head-on, his icy quirk ready. He dodged the spikes, countering with his own ice spikes to block the incoming attack.
Overhaul's eyes narrowed as he observed the situation. "You pests won't interfere with my plans!" He charged forward, aiming to touch Fang, his Quirk poised to disintegrate anything it came into contact with.
Fang quickly evaded, leaping backward to avoid Overhaul's deadly touch. "We need to keep our distance! His Quirk is too dangerous!" Fang shouted to Jake as he continued to fend off Overhaul's onslaught.
Meanwhile, Jake's Lucky Charm materialized into a sword, providing cover as he strategized his next move. "We can't let him touch us! We need to find a way to neutralize him without getting too close," Jake said, analyzing the situation.
Overhaul's attacks grew more relentless, his determination was evident in every strike. But Jake and Fang held their ground, their resolve unwavering as they fought to protect Eri and defeat the formidable villain.
With each punch, each kick, and every use of their Quirks, Jake and Fang fought bravely, determined to emerge victorious against Overhaul's overwhelming power. Despite the odds stacked against them, they refused to back down, their teamwork and determination driving them forward in the intense battle.
As the fight raged on, Jake's Lucky Charm continued to provide crucial support, conjuring weapons and tools to aid in their defense and counterattack. With every move carefully calculated and executed, Jake and Fang pushed themselves to their limits, refusing to let Overhaul's malevolent plans succeed.
With Eri's safety hanging in the balance, Jake and Fang knew they had to give it their all. With unwavering courage and determination, they faced Overhaul head-on, ready to confront the villain and protect the ones they held dear.
As Jake and Fang continued their intense battle against Overhaul, Jake noticed an opening in the villain's defenses. Seizing the opportunity, he quickly activated his Lucky Charm, conjuring a distraction to interfere with Overhaul's movements.
"Hey, Overhaul! Catch!" Jake shouted, hurling the object created by his Lucky Charm directly at the villain.
Overhaul, momentarily caught off guard by the sudden distraction, instinctively dodged the incoming object, allowing Fang to capitalize on the opportunity and launch a powerful attack.
Fang, fueled by determination and adrenaline, unleashed a barrage of icy projectiles at Overhaul, aiming to immobilize him and turn the tide of the battle in their favor.
Meanwhile, Jake remained vigilant, ready to provide support and assistance to Fang whenever needed. Despite the intense pressure and danger they faced, Jake and Fang remained steadfast in their resolve to protect Eri and defeat Overhaul, no matter the cost.
Then suddenly, Jake stepped behind Chisaki, catching him off guard. With miraculous speed, Jake appeared right in front of Chisaki before he could react. Chisaki attempted to touch Jake, but his speed proved too much, and Jake used his sword to dislocate both of Chisaki's hands.
"AH!" Chisaki screamed in agony.
"Damn, Jake, that was pretty brutal," Fang remarked.
Jake didn't give Chisaki a chance to retaliate. He delivered a powerful roundhouse kick to Chisaki's ribs, sending him crashing into the wall. for Fang to use his quirk to manipulate the ground, creating an ice-like prison around Chisaki's body.
"Too easy," Jake said, retrieving his sword from the ground.
"You won't get away with this!" Chisaki spat angrily, attempting to use his quirk to free himself, but his paralyzed hands rendered him helpless. "The Hassaikai clan will soon rule the underworld! Once I'm free, I'll make you wish you never crossed me!" he threatened.
Jake punched Chisaki in the face, knocking off his mask.
"Shut up!" Jake yelled, pointing his sword at Chisaki. "I don't care if you were king of the entire world. If you think I'm going to sit back and watch you torment a little girl, then you've got another thing coming." Jake was unfazed by Chisaki's threats.
"You made a big mistake, kid. You should quit while you're ahead. You have no idea what you're walking into," Chisaki warned, trying to reason with Jake. "If you don't stop now, the entire Shie Hassaki clan will come after your head until you die."
Jake remained resolute. "I'm looking forward to it," he said boldly, undaunted by the threat. "But as of right now, this conversation is over." With that, Jake delivered another powerful punch to Chisaki's face, rendering him unconscious.
Jake turned his attention to Eri, who was watching in shock. "You okay?" he asked gently, kneeling down beside her.
Eri, still shaken, nodded slowly.
"Your name is Eri, right?" Jake asked, offering a warm smile.
Eri nodded again.
"Okay, Eri. My name is Jake. Evans Ookami, but you can just call me Jake," he said kindly.
"E-Evans Ookami?" Eri repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, that's my name," Jake confirmed, gesturing to Fang. "And this is Fang Ookami, my brother."
"Are you two heroes?" Eri asked timidly.
Jake shook his head. "Not yet, anyway. We're still in training to become heroes," he explained. "Now, do you know why he wanted you? What was it about?"
"Hey, Eri, don't worry. You're safe now," Fang reassured her, crouching down beside Jake. "We won't let anyone hurt you."
Eri nodded, her eyes still wide with fear as she glanced between Jake and Fang.
Jake placed a comforting hand on Eri's shoulder. "We're here to help you," he said softly. "But we need to know what happened. Can you tell us?"
Eri hesitated for a moment before nodding slowly. "I-I don't know why he wanted me," she began, her voice barely above a whisper. "He just said something about using my quirk. He called it a 'curse' and said he could 'fix' it."
Jake's brows furrowed in concern. "Your quirk?" he echoed, exchanging a worried glance with Fang. "Do you know what it does?"
Eri shook her head. "N-No," she admitted. "I... I can't control it. It hurts people..."
Fang's expression darkened at her words, but he quickly composed himself. "Hey, it's okay," he said gently. "We'll figure it out together, okay?"
Jake nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we'll help you find out what your quirk does," he promised. "And we'll make sure no one ever hurts you again."
Eri looked up at them, her eyes brimming with tears. "Th-Thank you," she whispered, her voice trembling.
Jake and Fang exchanged a determined look. "No problem," Jake said with a reassuring smile. "Now, let's get you somewhere safe."
Fang nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we should take her to the police station," he suggested. "They can protect her while we figure out what to do next."
Jake nodded in agreement, standing up and offering Eri a hand. "Come on, Eri. We'll take care of you," he said kindly.
Eri hesitated for a moment before taking Jake's hand, allowing him to help her to her feet. As they walked away from the alley, Jake and Fang kept a close eye on her, determined to keep her safe no matter what.
Ookami Resident- Evening
Naja was starting to worry. He knew it was Jake's and Fang's first day, so maybe they could be a little late. But it's almost seven. Where could he be?
Naja's worry intensified as the minutes ticked by. Just as he was about to call Jake's phone, it rang. It was an unfamiliar number. With a hint of apprehension, Naja answered.
"Hello?"
"Is this Mr. Naja?" a voice on the other end asked.
"Yes, this is him. Who's calling?"
"This is Officer Tanaka from the local police station. We have your son, Jake, here with us."
Naja's heart skipped a beat. "Is he okay? What happened?"
"He's fine, sir. We found him and another individual involved in a confrontation with a known criminal. They're both safe, but we need you to come down to the station to pick him up."
Relief flooded through Naja. "Thank you, Officer Tanaka. I'll be there right away."
After hastily jotting down the address, Naja rushed out the door, his mind racing with questions about what could have happened.
Musutafu Police Station- Evening
Detective Tsukauchi spoke to Jake, Fang, and Eri in the waiting room, with All Might seated beside him. "I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting to see you again so soon. Least of all like this."
"I know, Detective. It's been a bit of a day," Jake replied, rubbing the back of his neck.
Fang nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we didn't exactly plan on running into trouble on our first day at UA," he added.
All Might, sitting beside Detective Tsukauchi, gave them a reassuring smile. "You've handled yourselves admirably, considering the circumstances. Your bravery is commendable."
Eri, who had been silent until now, looked up at Jake with wide eyes. "Thank you for saving me," she said softly, clutching the edge of her dress.
Jake smiled warmly at her. "Of course, Eri. No one should have to go through what you did."
Detective Tsukauchi cleared his throat, bringing their attention back to him. "We'll need to take your statements about what happened tonight. It's important for our investigation."
Jake and Fang nodded in understanding, ready to recount the events of the evening to the authorities.
As they waited for their turn to give their statements, the atmosphere in the room was tense. Jake and Fang exchanged worried glances, knowing that their explanation could have serious implications. Eri sat quietly beside them, her presence a reminder of the danger they had faced.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Naja rushed in, his expression a mix of relief and concern. "Jake! Fang! Are you two alright?" he asked, his voice filled with worry.
Jake stood up to greet his uncle, giving him a reassuring smile. "We're okay, Naja. It's been a wild night, but we're fine," he replied, hoping to ease his uncle's concerns.
Fang nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we ran into some trouble, but we handled it," he added, trying to sound more confident than he felt.
Naja glanced at Eri, noticing the young girl sitting quietly beside them. "And who is this?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.
Jake introduced Eri to Naja. "This is Eri. We found her caught up in the situation. She's safe now," he explained, gesturing towards the girl.
Naja knelt down to Eri's level, offering her a warm smile. "Nice to meet you, Eri. I'm Naja, I'm Jake and Fang's uncle ," he said kindly.
Eri looked up at Naja with wide eyes, a shy smile forming on her lips. "Hello, Naja. Thank you for saving me," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Naja's expression softened at her words. "You're welcome, Eri. We're just glad you're safe," he replied gently, patting her shoulder reassuringly.
As they waited for their turn to speak with the detectives, Jake, Fang, Naja, and Eri sat together, grateful for each other's company in the midst of uncertainty.
Detective Tsukauchi and All Might listened attentively as Eri explained her situation. When they asked if she had any other family she could stay with, Eri shook her head sadly.
"I don't have any other family," she murmured, her voice barely audible. "It's just me."
Naja's heart went out to the young girl. He exchanged a glance with Jake and Fang, silently communicating his concern for Eri's well-being.
Detective Tsukauchi spoke up, addressing Naja directly. "Given the circumstances, we'll need to find a temporary guardian for Eri until we can sort out her situation. Would you be willing to sign some papers to take on that responsibility?" he asked, his tone gentle yet firm.
Naja considered the question for a moment, his thoughts racing. He looked at Eri, seeing the vulnerability in her eyes, and felt a surge of protectiveness well up within him.
"I'll do it," he said decisively, his voice filled with determination. "Eri can stay with us. We'll take care of her."
Jake and Fang nodded in agreement, offering Eri reassuring smiles. They knew that they would do whatever it took to keep her safe.
Detective Tsukauchi nodded, relieved to have found a solution for Eri's immediate care. "Thank you, Naja. I'll make sure the paperwork is processed as quickly as possible," he said gratefully.
All Might placed a hand on Naja's shoulder, offering him a supportive squeeze. "You're doing a good thing, Naja. Eri will be safe with you," he said, his voice filled with genuine warmth.
With the decision made, Naja, Jake, Fang, and Eri waited patiently for their turn to speak with the detectives, knowing that they had taken an important step towards ensuring Eri's future.
As they waited, Jake glanced at Eri, noticing the lingering unease in her expression. "Hey, Eri, don't worry. We're all here for you," he said softly, offering her a reassuring smile.
Fang nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Eri. You're part of the Ookami family now. We'll take care of you," he added, his tone gentle and comforting.
Eri looked up at them, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, Jake. Thank you, Fang. And thank you, Naja," she said softly, a hint of relief evident in her voice.
Naja smiled warmly at her. "You're welcome, Eri. We're glad to have you with us," he said sincerely, his gaze filled with kindness.
Just then, Detective Tsukauchi motioned for them to come forward, indicating that it was their turn to discuss the details of Eri's temporary guardianship. With a sense of determination and unity, Jake, Fang, Naja, and Eri approached the detectives, ready to take the necessary steps to ensure Eri's safety and well-being.
After discussing Eri's situation further and ensuring that everything was in order, Detective Tsukauchi nodded, satisfied with their arrangements. "It seems like Eri will be in good hands with you all," he remarked, offering a reassuring smile.
Jake, Fang, and Naja exchanged relieved glances, grateful for the support they had received. "Thank you, Detective Tsukauchi," Naja said, expressing their gratitude.
With that, they bid farewell to Detective Tsukauchi and All Might, exiting the police station with Eri in tow. The evening air felt crisp and refreshing as they stepped outside, the weight of the day's events slowly lifting from their shoulders.
As they walked together down the dimly lit streets, Jake, Fang, and Naja shared a sense of camaraderie and determination. They knew that challenges lay ahead, but they also knew that they were stronger together.
With Eri now under their care, they headed home, ready to face whatever the future held, united as a family.
Ookami Resident- Night
"This is our home," Naja said, turning on the lights in the house, illuminating the room for Eri to see.
"We should head into the living room for now," Jake suggested as they walked in.
"Well, this is our living room, Eri," Fang said.
Eri looked around the living room, taking in the cozy atmosphere.
"It's... nice," she said softly, still holding onto Jake's hand.
"Make yourself comfortable," Naja said with a warm smile. "We want you to feel at home here."
Fang sat down on the couch and patted the seat next to him. "Come sit with us, Eri. We can watch some TV or talk if you want."
Jake nodded, guiding Eri to the couch. "Yeah, anything you need, just let us know. We're here for you."
Eri hesitated for a moment before sitting down next to Fang, still looking a bit unsure. "Thank you," she said quietly.
Naja took a seat in a nearby chair. "You're part of the family now, Eri. We'll make sure you're safe and happy."
"Yeah," Jake added, sitting on the other side of her. "We're going to take good care of you."
Eri managed a small smile, feeling a bit more at ease. "Okay," she said, her voice a little stronger. "Thank you."
The room settled into a comfortable silence, the warm atmosphere helping Eri feel a little more at home with her new family.
After a while, Naja stood up and stretched. "It's getting late, everyone. We should all get some rest. Eri, let's show you where you'll be sleeping."
Jake and Fang both stood up. "You can have my room," Jake offered immediately.
"No, mine," Fang insisted. "I can sleep on the couch."
Eri looked between them, a bit overwhelmed by their kindness. "I don't want to take anyone's bed," she said softly.
Naja smiled. "We appreciate the offers, boys, but we have a guest room that's all set up for you, Eri. Follow me."
They all walked down the hallway, Naja leading them to a cozy room with a neatly made bed and soft lighting. "This will be your room, Eri," Naja said, opening the door and letting her step inside.
Eri walked in, looking around the room. "It's... really nice," she said, a bit awed by the comfort and warmth of the space.
Jake grinned. "See, you get a whole room to yourself. It's perfect."
Fang nodded in agreement. "And if you need anything, we're just down the hall."
Naja knelt down to Eri's level. "You can come to any of us if you need something, okay? You're safe here."
Eri nodded, feeling more reassured. "Okay. Thank you," she said, her voice small but sincere.
"Goodnight, Eri," Jake said with a smile.
"Goodnight," Fang added.
"Goodnight," Eri replied, giving them a small smile before Naja gently closed the door, leaving her to settle in.
As they walked back down the hallway, Naja put a hand on each of the boys' shoulders. "You both did great today. Now, get some rest. We've got a big day tomorrow."
Jake and Fang nodded, feeling a sense of relief and accomplishment. "Goodnight, uncle Naja," they said in unison before heading to their rooms.
Naja watched them go, feeling proud of how they'd handled everything. He knew that taking Eri in was the right decision, and that together, they would give her the love and support she needed.
Musutafu Mall- Morning
The next day, Jake, Fang, and Naja took Eri to get some new clothes and stuff for her room before Jake and Fang had to go to school.
"Alright, Eri, let's find you some nice clothes," Naja said as they walked into a department store. "We want you to be comfortable."
Eri looked around, a bit overwhelmed by the size and variety of the store. "I... I've never been in a store like this," she said softly.
"Don't worry, we'll help you," Jake reassured her with a smile. "How about we start with some basic stuff, like shirts and pants?"
"Okay," Eri nodded, holding Jake's hand tightly.
As they walked through the aisles, Fang picked out a few colorful shirts. "What do you think of these, Eri?"
Eri's eyes widened at the bright colors. "They're so pretty..."
Jake chuckled. "You can pick anything you like, Eri. We're here to make sure you get everything you need."
They spent the next hour picking out clothes, shoes, and some toys. Eri's face gradually brightened as she realized she could choose what she liked.
Once they had everything, they headed to the checkout. "You did great, Eri," Naja said, patting her head gently. "Let's get all of this home and set up your room."
Eri smiled shyly. "Thank you... all of you."
After paying, they loaded everything into the car. On the way back, Fang looked at his watch. "We still have some time before we need to head to school."
"Good," Jake said. "That way we can help Eri settle in first."
Ookami Resident- Evening
Back home, they set up Eri's room, arranging her new clothes in the closet and putting her toys on the shelves. Eri looked around, her eyes filled with wonder. "This... this is my room?"
"Yes, it is," Jake confirmed. "Do you like it?"
Eri nodded vigorously. "I love it. Thank you."
Naja smiled. "I'm glad you do. Now, you should get some rest while Jake and Fang get ready for school. We'll be back soon, okay?"
"Okay," Eri said, feeling a warmth she hadn't felt in a long time. She watched as Jake and Fang gathered their school bags, ready to head out.
"We'll see you later, Eri," Fang said with a wave.
"Yeah, take care," Jake added. "We'll be back before you know it."
Eri waved back, feeling safe and cared for in her new home.
Musutafu Streets- morning
Jake and Fang were walking to school to meet up with Midoriya and Minato. They were talking about what school was going to be like today when they got to UA.
Jake glanced over at Fang. "So, what do you think today's going to be like?"
Fang shrugged. "I just hope it's less eventful than yesterday. But with Aizawa-sensei, who knows?"
They spotted Midoriya and Minato up ahead and hurried to catch up with them.
"Hey guys!" Jake called out.
"Morning," Midoriya said with a smile. "Ready for another day?"
"As ready as we'll ever be," Fang replied, rolling his eyes. "We were just talking about what Aizawa-sensei might have planned for us."
Minato chuckled. "Well, whatever it is, let's just hope we all survive it."
Suddenly, they heard a commotion above them. They looked up to see a green flying pirate ship soaring through the sky, with several pro heroes chasing after it.
"What the…?" Jake muttered, eyes wide.
Midoriya gasped. "Is that… a flying pirate ship?"
Minato's eyes narrowed as he watched the heroes in pursuit. "It looks like they need help."
"Should we…?" Fang started, but Jake cut him off.
"We're students. We're not supposed to intervene unless it's absolutely necessary," Jake reminded them, though he looked just as tempted as the rest.
One of the pro heroes, Endeavor, sent a blast of flames toward the ship, but it deftly dodged.
"Let's just get to school. I'm sure the pros can handle this," Midoriya said, trying to focus on their path ahead.
"Right," Jake agreed, though he kept glancing back at the chaotic scene in the sky.
As they continued walking, the conversation shifted back to their day ahead, though the image of the flying pirate ship stayed with them.
As they continued walking, Jake glanced up at the still-flying pirate ship until he noticed the flag had a butterfly symbol on it. He only knew one person associated with that symbol: someone had been akumatized.
"Guys," Jake said, his voice tense, "that flag on the ship has a butterfly symbol on it. Someone's been akumatized."
The team knew exactly what that meant. Without hesitation, they all ducked into an alleyway to transform where no one could see them.
"Kwasi, spots on!" Jake called, transforming into Beetle.
"Ravage, claws out!" Midoriya said, transforming into Shadow Claw.
"Leo, let's roar!" Fang shouted, transforming into Iron Roar.
" Liiri Wings of Liberty !" Minato declared, transforming into Eagle.
Fully transformed, the team emerged from the alleyway, ready to confront the akumatized villain aboard the pirate ship.
"We need to stop that ship before it causes any more chaos," Beetle said, tightening his grip on his yo-yo.
"Right," Shadow Claw agreed, claws flexing in readiness. "Let's split up and find a way to board it."
Iron Roar nodded, his metallic body glinting in the sunlight. "I'll create a distraction to draw the villain's attention."
"And I'll scout from above," Eagle said, spreading his wings and taking to the sky.
Beetle threw his yo-yo, latching onto a building, and swung towards the ship. Shadow Claw followed, using his agility to leap from rooftop to rooftop. Iron Roar charged forward, roaring loudly to draw attention, while Eagle soared overhead, scanning for the best point of entry.
As they approached the pirate ship, the villain on board, dressed in a flamboyant pirate outfit, noticed them. "Ah, more heroes to join my crew!" he cackled, waving his sword. "Prepare to be boarded!"
"Let's take this guy down!" Beetle shouted, swinging onto the deck.
Shadow Claw leaped after him, slashing at the villain's sword. "You'll pay for terrorizing the city!"
Iron Roar climbed aboard, using his strength to fend off the pirate's minions. "Let's end this quickly."
Eagle swooped down, diving towards the villain. "You're not getting away with this!"
The battle began in earnest, each hero using their unique abilities to counter the pirate's attacks and protect the city below.
As the team got closer, they took a good look at the villain. To their surprise, it was just a kid—a 10-year-old child with green eyes, green hair, and pale white skin. He was wearing a short, loose jacket, different trouser styles, shoes (not boots), and a variety of headgear, including bandannas and tricornios. His name was Youngblood.
Beetle landed gracefully on the deck, his yo-yo ready in his hand. "Hey, hold on. You're just a kid," he said, trying to sound calm and non-threatening.
Youngblood swung his sword dramatically. "I'm the terror of the seas! You can't stop me!" he declared, though his voice had a youthful pitch to it.
Shadow Claw approached cautiously, his claws retracting slightly. "What's your name, kid?" he asked gently.
Youngblood pointed his sword at Shadow Claw. "I'm Youngblood, and I've been given the power to rule the skies!"
Iron Roar, using his strength to fend off some remaining minions, looked over at Beetle. "We need to calm him down and find out what caused this," he suggested.
Eagle, still flying above, circled down to land near the group. "Let's try to talk to him. Maybe we can find out who akumatized him," he proposed.
Beetle nodded. "Youngblood, we're not here to hurt you. We want to help. Who gave you this power?"
Youngblood hesitated for a moment, his eyes flickering with uncertainty. "A voice... a voice told me I could have anything I wanted if I just took this ship and sailed the skies."
"That's the work of Hawk Moth," Shadow Claw muttered to the others. "We need to break the akuma."
Beetle took a step forward, carefully choosing his words. "Youngblood, can you tell us where the voice came from? Do you remember anything about it?"
Youngblood lowered his sword slightly, the bravado fading from his eyes. "It just appeared in my head... it promised me adventure and fun."
Eagle approached, wings tucked back. "We can give you adventure and fun, but this power isn't the way. It's dangerous."
Iron Roar, sensing the boy's hesitation, added, "You don't have to fight alone, Youngblood. Let us help you."
Youngblood looked at each of the heroes in turn, his expression softening. "I don't want to hurt anyone... I just wanted to have fun."
Beetle smiled gently. "I understand. Let's fix this together, okay? Lucky Charm!" he shouted, throwing his yo-yo into the air.
As it spun, a small object materialized in front of him—a toy compass. Beetle caught it, glancing at it thoughtfully. "A compass? Okay, let's see…"
He examined the compass, noticing it pointed directly at Youngblood's sword. "That's it. The akuma must be in the sword," he realized.
"Youngblood, let me see your sword," Beetle said softly.
Youngblood hesitated but handed it over. Beetle took the sword and, with a swift motion, used his yo-yo to shatter it. A dark butterfly, the akuma, emerged from the broken sword.
"Quickly, purify it!" Shadow Claw urged.
Beetle captured the akuma with his yo-yo. "No more evil-doing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize!" He purified the butterfly, releasing it back into the air.
Youngblood collapsed to his knees, the pirate persona fading away. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to cause any trouble."
Eagle knelt beside him. "It's okay. You're safe now. Do you have anyone we can call for you?"
Youngblood shook his head. "No... I don't have anyone."
Iron Roar and Shadow Claw exchanged looks. "You can come with us," Iron Roar offered. "We'll make sure you're safe and get you back home."
Beetle smiled, offering a hand to Youngblood. "Let's get you back on solid ground. Come on."
The team led Youngblood off the ship, ready to ensure he was taken care of and hoping this incident would be the last of its kind for him.
