A few days later, the Fenton family was en route to the reunion. Danny had shared with Jazz the troubling history of their mother's family, leaving her astonished. To Danny's surprise, Charlie and Emily also decided to come along, determined to ensure their safety. Meanwhile, Lucifer had informed Lilith about the reunion and the attempts of Maddie's family to claim Maddie. Similarly, Sera had relayed the message to heaven.

Danny sighed. Although Aunt Alicia seemed to accept him and Jazz, he pondered why the rest of his mother's family wanted to disown them even before their birth. It was baffling. His train of thought was interrupted by the buzz of his phone, signaling a text from Charlie and Emily.

CM: "How are you feeling, Danny?"

ES: "Nervous?"

DF: "Not exactly, just... confused."

CM: "Concerning your mother's side of the family?"

DF: "Yes, you girls have met my aunt and seen how she and my dad behave."

ES: "Sera is equally astonished that Ms. Fenton's family attempted to divide yours. It's even more astounding that they tried to prevent you and Jazz from being born. I can't even begin to think what would have happened if they had succeeded."

CM: "I share your sentiments, Emily."

Danny smiles, relieved they still care. Yet, he's uncertain if his mother's family would accept them. He looks up, pondering, then poses the question.

"Mom? Why doesn't your family like that you're different?" he inquires.

Maddie exhales, realizing it's time to be candid.

"I stood out from my family. I cherish them, but they're entrenched in their ways. They supported my college endeavors. However, when I introduced Jack, they urged me to avoid him, claiming he'd be my downfall. But Jack was nothing but gentle and loving. When I announced our engagement, they attempted to sabotage our wedding. I had hoped for their joy," she confesses, gaze lowered.

"Honey, as I've said before, your family never welcomed me. They deem me unworthy despite assuring them of my devotion and care for you. And should they attempt to arrange another date for you during our visit, I intend to follow through with my warning," Jack interjects.

Maddie sighed before Jazz asked her next question.

"Do they dislike us because we're Dad's children too?" Jazz inquired.

"They recognize you carry the family blood, but they resent that you also have Jack's blood. I've asked, but they refuse to explain until I abandon you all," Maddie replied, her frown deepening.

Danny frowned. He hadn't met any of them yet and already felt strongly disliked. However, he reminded himself to withhold judgment until he met them in person. He swiftly sent a text to Charlie and Emily, relaying their mother's story and urging them to reserve any judgment until they met.

The RV stopped in an old town, one that Maddie remembered fondly.

"It seems like nothing's changed," She remarked with a smile.

"What's this place?" inquired Danny.

"It's called No-Name Town," Maddie replied, prompting her kids to look at her.

"Sorry, kids, but that's its name," She added with a shrug.

Danny texted the town's name to Charlie and Emily, and they too were taken aback.

"Where does your cousin live?" Jack asked.

"Jack, you know his address," Maddie responded, shaking her head.

Jack frowned, then turned down a street leading into the countryside. They arrived at a house bustling with people. The Fenton family had just stepped outside when Maddie caught sight of her cousin.

"Samuel!" She exclaimed.

"Maddie!" He replied, hurrying over to embrace her.

"It's great to see you," said Maddie.

"I'm glad you could come," He responded, then turned to notice Jack.

"Oh, Jack, you're here too," He remarked as he approached.

"Despite the invitation specifying not to bring me or the kids," Jack pointed out, prompting a sigh from Samuel.

His gaze then fell upon Danny and Jazz, and he looked surprised.

"Are these your children?" Samuel inquired of Maddie.

"Yes, these are Daniel and Jasmine," She confirmed.

"You've certainly maintained some of the family traditions," Samuel observed with a smile.

"Excuse me, Uncle Samuel?" Jazz interjected.

"You can just call me Uncle Sam," He offered.

"Alright, Uncle Sam. Just so you know, we mostly go by our nicknames. I'm Jazz, and my brother is Danny," Jazz explained.

"We don't dislike our full names; it's just that we're more accustomed to our nicknames," Danny chimed in.

He seemed to frown for a moment before smiling.

"Very well. One can't be choosy about their names," He said, still smiling.

Danny's phone buzzed again, and he pulled it out.

"Sorry, I have to take this," Danny said, walking away.

"What's his deal?" Samuel inquired.

"I hope you don't mind some extra guests. They sort of invited themselves," Maddie admitted sheepishly.

"Not to mention, their kids saved our son two years ago," Jack added, leaving him puzzled.

The limousine pulled up next to the RV, and everyone watched as Lucifer Morningstar stepped out.

"Hmm, nice open space, plenty of food for everyone, and extra for unexpected guests. Yep, your family really goes all out for a reunion, Maddie," He commented with a smile.

"Who's?" Samuel inquired just as a girl emerged.

"Hi, Charlie," greeted Danny, approaching.

"Hello, Danny," She replied with a smile.

The two friends embraced, then another voice chimed in.

"How about me?"

To Danny's astonishment, Emily appeared, grinning.

"Wait, Mr. Morningstar gave you and Sera a lift?!" exclaimed Danny, taken aback.

"Sera was bombarded with phone calls when we attempted to leave. Luckily, Charlie and her dad saw us and offered a ride," explained Emily, embracing her friends.

"And I've finally made the calls stop," announced Sera, joining them.

"WHO?" Samuel pressed.

"Samuel, meet Lucifer Morningstar and Sera Seraphim," Maddie introduced, drawing the gaze of her entire family.

"And these are Charlie and Emily, our son's closest friends," She added.

"Maddie, could you please explain why you invited two of the most powerful people on the planet?" Samuel inquired.

"You must be Maddie's cousin," Lucifer remarked, approaching.

"We've heard a bit about you. Mainly how you've attempted to separate Jack and Maddie," he continued.

"And how you tried to prevent Jasmine and Daniel from being born," Sera interjected, joining them.

"We... learned our lesson regarding that," Samuel admitted, perspiring slightly.

Meanwhile, three teenagers observed the trio and were somewhat taken aback. They exchanged glances and nodded to each other.

The reunion continued, now joined by Lucifer and Sera. Danny took a seat with Charlie and Emily, while Jazz sat alone. Danny sighed before turning to his friends.

"Well?" He inquired.

"Too soon," Charlie responded, aware that they had only just arrived.

"I still can't believe they're trying to tear your family apart," Emily chimed in.

"Well, it seems they're not trying to do anything to us for the moment," Danny observed, noting that many on Mother's side of the family were on their best behavior.

"Hey, there."

The trio turned to see two boys and a girl approaching them. All three were dressed somewhat like farmers, donning overalls and boots. The boys appeared to be twins with identical hair and eye colors, though one wore a blue shirt and the other a red shirt. The girl, seemingly older, had long blonde hair and, strikingly, red eyes. She was quite beautiful as well.

"Howdy, there," said one of the boys.

"Nice to meet you," the other boy greeted with a wave.

"And you are?" inquired Danny, puzzled.

"Right, I'm Maria, and these two are Henry and Mark," The girl introduced them, smiling.

"You must be cousin Danny! Nice to meet you," Mark said.

"And who are these young ladies?" Henry inquired.

"Firstly, we're his best friends!" Emily interjected, her cheeks tinted with a blush.

"Secondly, my name is Charlie, and this is Emily," Charlie stated, folding her arms.

"Wait, Charlie? Isn't that a boy's name?" Henry questioned.

"It's short for Charlotte, but I prefer Charlie, just as Danny prefers his nickname," Charlie explained.

"Actually, I don't mind my full name; it's just that everyone calls me Danny," Danny clarified.

"I still call you Daniel," Emily chimed in.

"You three seem close. Care to explain why?" Maria asked, looking at them.

Danny sighed, glancing at Charlie and Emily, who gave him reassuring nods.

"Alright," he said, taking a sip of his drink.

"Two years ago, I found myself in a dark place. There was this guy, bigger and stronger, who used me to do all sorts of things I'd never consider now. If I ever resisted, he'd threaten me, usually with violence, to ensure compliance. I felt trapped, doing whatever he commanded. But then, after I stole a loaf of bread, I encountered these two. They disapproved of the way I was being treated and began to guide me towards a better path. Adapting to the change wasn't easy, and it took time, but eventually, I learned to confront my tormentor. My life has taken a complete turn for the better, and it's all thanks to them," Danny shared, his smile directed warmly at Charlie and Emily.

"They literally saved my life, and I'll always be indebted to them. I've left that old version of myself behind for over two years now," Danny concluded, leaving the trio in awe.

"And we did everything we could to ensure Danny would never go down that dark path again," Charlie said, smiling.

"We're not friends with him just because we're wealthy," Emily chimed in.

"They're my friends because they care about who I am," Danny contributed.

Maria and the twins were even more astonished to learn of Charlie and Emily's wealth. The twins began to smirk, but Charlie anticipated their next move.

"Just so you know, I'm already seeing someone," She declared.

"And I'm not in the market for a boyfriend," Emily stated.

"What about you, cuz?" Mark inquired.

"I'm... still looking," Danny admitted, his cheeks coloring.

He didn't want to confess his crush on Charlie and Emily, to avoid any misconceptions. Maria observed him, a knowing smile on her face. Despite being disliked by her family, he was quite handsome. And since he was still available...

"I must say, I never imagined Uncle Jack would have such a remarkable son," Maria commented, still smiling.

"Um..." Danny muttered, puzzled.

"Perhaps my family misjudged. I believe your father was the best thing to happen to your mother," she said, edging closer.

"A testament to that is my handsome cousin," She added, beaming.

"Handsome?" Danny echoed, retreating slightly, his blush deepening.

"Are you hitting on your own cousin?" Charlie asked, surprised.

"What's the issue? It's not unheard of for family members to marry," Maria retorted with a smirk.

"What are you talking about?" Emily inquired.

"Look at Uncle Mach and Aunt Sarah," Maria pointed out.

"They're siblings who married each other," she elaborated.

"WHAT?!" The trio exclaimed in unison, shocked.

"Our family isn't strict about the rules of marriage. So, if you're still searching..." Maria teased, smirking.

Danny remained in shock, while Emily muttered under her breath. She understood that love has many forms, but this was unsettling for her. Before she could say anything, Maria kissed Danny's cheek, making his face turn red.

"Let me know if you want to hook up, cutie." She said, winking.

Danny could only blink as his cousins walked away. He turned to face Charlie and Emily, needing confirmation that what he saw was real.

"Is she..." He began.

"Yes," Charlie and Emily replied in unison.

Danny glanced back and caught Maria winking at him while she conversed with her other cousins.

"I'm...unsure of what to make of this," He admitted, his bewilderment evident.

Here is the second chapter of "Family Reunions." I began it yesterday but was unable to continue after the start of the reunion. Now, the remainder of the chapter is complete.

In this chapter, we are introduced to several members of Maddie's family. Is there anyone with suggestions for the family's surname? I'm at a loss for names. As depicted, Maria is making advances toward Danny, indicating that in their family, it's acceptable for relatives to marry. Emily, however, disapproves of Maria's behavior. It's important to note that this is still during Season 1, so the dynamics among the trio have not evolved beyond friendship. And Maria's intentions are genuine; she truly wishes to marry Danny, regardless of their familial connection.
