Author's Note's: This is a Star vs. the Forces of Evil AU so it does not follow the original story line of the show. So do not be worried about spoilers, because there is none. This story was written back when we knew little about Star vs. the Forces of Evil so I pretty much had to make up everything, family history included.
Me: Yes this is the part I've been waiting for!
Bill: only because of the demon sex, you should be ashamed of yourself!
Me: No it's because Light actually becomes one of the main characters in this book, and not just a side voice.
Bill: you and Light I swear; what do you see in that guy?
Me: I like him, because he hates you!
Bill: Yeah well I hate him.
Random Fan: But there the same person.
Bill: What?
Random Fan: Dipper and Light are literally the same person. Dipper is just the human side of himself while Light is his true demon nature. So how can you hate him if-
Bill: Listen lady they may share the same body, and mind, but that two timing jerk is nothing like my Pine Tree!
Random Fan: but-
Bill: What did I say?
Random Fan: I can't believe Dip Dot is going to marry you!
Me: Me either, but hey that's life. Anyway just so you guys know unlike the first story of this series where I basically rewrote Weirdmageddon word for word; with few changes. I will not be quoting word from word of Star vs the forced of Evil! No instead I'm rewriting her story all together!
Random Fan: No you can't!
Bill: Oh but she can remember this is an alternate reality; anything is possible
Random Fan: Fine but Marco better be in it and they better fall in love!
Me: Deal!
Bill: Hey no spoilers! Now one of you read!
Random Fan: fine you jerk! (Starts reading)
"The loss of the one we love the most is a gut wrenching thing, it leaves a hole in our hearts and causes it to rot!
I say to you it is wiser to listen to your head then it is to listen to a rotting heart.
For a rotting heart is sure to lead you to a vengeful spirit..."

Once upon a time,
In the magical land of Mewni, far, far away; lived a beautiful princess named: Star Butterfly. Now Star was a very special child, as sole heir of the Butterfly bloodline young Star had a lot to live up to. For once her Parents past on she would become the sole ruler of Mewni, the capital kingdom of the 4th dimension. Sure there were several other kingdoms in the dimension, but one day every king and queen would look to her for guidance on how to run their own kingdoms. Of course this was a lot of pressure to bestow upon a young girl, and at the age of nine Star was already showing a rebellious streak.
"Star! Star! Where is that girl?" King River search the castle franticly for his daughter. "Of all days! Why must she cause trouble today of all days?"
"Sire?" A voice speaks behind him.
"Yes" King River turns to see his most trusted butler. "Awe Gregory yes, please tell me you have seen my daughter."
Gregory gave his king an unsettling look. "No your majesty, but please you must chose the seating arrangements for tonight's Ball."
"Oh my I've forgotten again haven't I?" King River shook his head. Tonight's Ball was to celebrate his wife's birthday, Queen Moon. King River sighed as he thought of her, several years had passed since the romantic night when they first met. And yet she could still get to him, and make him warm and fuzzy all over.
"Sire?" Gregory looked worried. "If you don't chose we'll never be ready in time."
"Oh yes of course." King River said, coming out of his day dream. "The main family will sit at the middle table, close friends will surround us and the distant but loyal subjects will fill in where they like." Gregory wrote all this down on a scroll feverishly.
"Is that all?" King River asked.
"Yes Sire I'm sure Queen Moon can-"
A loud scream interrupts them, and a maid with long black hair, and tan skin comes rushing in with a wild look in her eyes. "Oh Sire thank heavens I found you!" She cried.
"Malena, what is it?" King River asked.
"It's her royal majesty. Queen Moon." Malena looks frail as she shakes in obvious fear. "She's caught...the Black Death!"
Gasps fill the halls as the other servants in the hall hear the news. It's perhaps the worse news anyone could hear.
King River fell to his knees, and Gregory was at his aid in seconds.
No one could blame him for his reaction, the Black Death was the most feared illness in all the 4th dimension, and it was a bringer of certain death.
No one had ever survived its wrath...
"Malena please find my daughter…" King River was in tears.
"My king, Queen Moon was frantic when I left her side, I must return to her." Malena bowed gracefully.
This was a likely statement to hear from the young maid. Malena was a devoted servant of the Queen. Queen Moon had always seen her as the sister she never had the chance to have. They grew up together, and were the best of friends. Queen Moon was the princess of this land, and Melina had come from a long line of servants that had served the Butterfly Bloodline for years. Her mother had served Queen Moon's Parents, and the girls were as thick as thieves as there mothers use to say. And when Queen Moon was chosen to be King River's betrothed at the age of 14, Malena had been given permission to continue serving her instead of being replaced by a much older servant from the Butterfly household.
"I mustn't leave her." Malena said, "But I will send my daughter to fetcher her at once."
King River nodded. "Please urge her to hurry…this maybe our last…" he couldn't finish his sentence.
Malena raced towards the servant quarters at once,
King River could only hope that they reached his daughter in time…
(Somewhere in the forest of Certain Death…)
The large tentacle beast roared and delivered a deathly blow at his attacker…
Star Butterfly didn't even finch, as she dodged the blow with perfect ease, and grace.
'Now this is more like it.' She thought to herself as she aimed her bow to make a deathly blow of her own. Finally after weeks of constant princess lessons with no breaks, Star had finally found some time for herself, doing the thing she loved the most.
Fighting monsters!
Of course her mother would not be pleased if she found out about this. No, she wouldn't be very pleased at all, but what she didn't know couldn't hurt her. Besides she planned to be back in plenty of time to make it to the Ball. The large tentacle beast slapped the bow away with one of its many tentacles, and Star had to dodge several other's that came her way.
"You're just not getting it!" Star yelled at the beast as if it should actually care what she thinks. "You're going down buddy, way down!"
The beast gives a humored laugh, obviously doubtful that a little nine year old could stop him. The monster had been terrorizing the villages of several kingdoms for years now, and several brave man had died trying to bring it down. Her mother told her that such things are out of a royal's hands.
"It's not your job to defend the kingdom!" Her mother would say. "It's your job to run the kingdom, let the men worry about the monsters dear."
But Star didn't see it that way, as future ruler of her kingdom, she felt that she should be willing to give her life for her subjects if need be. Not coward and hide, hoping her men would stand fast and defend her. Of course her mother never understood these feeling.
Her mother didn't understand her much at all…
Star gasped as another tentacle came out of nowhere to surprise her from behind. She dodges just in time, "Only a coward attacks from behind!" she shouted readying for another attack.
"Star!"
Star whirled around to see a familiar face, a young servant girl, with long dark hair and tan skin. "Rose don't come any closer!" Star warned, but it was too late; the beast saw the easier target, and snatched Rose up.
"Star help me!" Rose screamed.
"I'm coming!" Star took an arrow from her bag and jumped, climbing the beast, and stabbed it in one of its several eyes.
Rose screamed as the beast tossed her away and retreated in pain.
"Don't worry I got you!" Star exclaimed, trying her best to catch her, luckily some pixies broke her fall. "Thank you." Rose said to the colorful creatures.
The pixies kissed her softly, a pixie kiss was their way of bestowing a blessing upon you. "Safe travels." They said and flew off.
"Rose are you okay?" Star raced over.
"I'm fine." Rose assured her, rising to her feet.
"What were you thinking that monster could have-" Star began.
"Oh Star it's terrible." Rose took her hands into hers, tears streaming from her eyes.
"Rose what is it, what's wrong?" Star was looking over her franticly looking for any wounds. Her mother would kill her if Rose was harmed due to her shenanigans. And honestly Star would never forgive herself either.
"It's your mother." Rose said through tears.
Star eminently let out a sigh of relieve "Oh for a minute there I you were going to say someone was dying-"
"She is…" Rose said though sobs.
"Wait…what?" Star wasn't sure she heard her right. "Oh Star, she has the plague…" Rose cried dramatically.
"…No…" Star's world began to spin around her.
"Oh Star I'm so sorry…" Rose put her arms around her.
"No!" Star said more firmly and pushed Rose away, running towards the castle.
"Star wait!" Rose raced after her.
She had to make it home, if she just got into the castle she was sure she'd see her mother there scowling at her as always. Demanding to know where she had been, like she had so many days before. She didn't stop running, even as she reach the palace stairs, she raced into the front hall and towards the Royal Chambers.
Everyone hurried out of her way, looks of dread covered their faces.
'If I could just speak to her…see her…then it will be okay.' She assured herself. 'It's just a big misunderstanding. She can't be dying, I'm not ready!'
She reached her Parents room just in time to see the doctor place the sheets over her mother's head. "No!"
King River turned to see his daughter, broken on the floor; her eyes never leaving her deceased mother's covered form. "I'm sorry my dear, but she's gone…"
Star shook her head in disbelief this couldn't be happing, she couldn't be gone! "I should have never left." She whispered. "I should have been here."
"This isn't your fault." King River wrapped his arms around his daughter, and held her tightly. "These things happen to all life." He explained. "It was simply her time…" he tried not to cry, but he fails miserably.
"No Daddy…" Star said as the tears began to flow. "I should have been here, to be by her side, but I was gone, fighting monsters…"
Yes she had chosen this, and even though her father tried his best to assure her that she could have done nothing to change her mother's fate. Star turned a death ear, she had made this decision.
And it is a decision that she would regret for the rest of her life!
