'There is no war deadlier, than the ones that take their prisoners alive'

(Back with Mabel...)

Her will to go on was dwindling by the second…

Her feet ached for relief!

Mabel forced herself to move faster as the screams of the "Marked Ones" got louder and louder behind her. She, Steve, Ivan, Candy, Grenda, and the other members of the Zodiac were forced to keep running from the mob of loyal subjects while the town's folk, and creatures of Gravity Falls were left behind, and caught by Bill.

This was all her fault, if she hadn't been so boy crazy, all the time than Dipper wouldn't have felt lonely and in need of a friend; and he wouldn't have gone looking for it from Bill. And if Mabel hadn't been so selfish about some stupid birthday party than she would have never ran outside with the wrong bag! Bill would have never tricked her.

Bill would still be locked away! And Dipper…

Dipper would still be by her side!

Tears began to stream from her eyes, but she didn't stop running.

The sun had started sinking by the time they made it to the Welcome to Gravity Falls sign, and Pacifica couldn't help but notice that the town once again had a night and day. Of course she wasn't expecting that to last for long. It was obvious Bill had something against time, because he always preferred it to stand still, only changing it when it suited his mood. But it would appear that he had lost his control over time, or at least forgotten about it in his excitement for finally being free. Whatever the reason was she was grateful, because the approaching darkness meant cover from the enemy.

An enemy who didn't know Gravity Falls like the back of their hands.

The others of the group realized this advantage as well and headed for the cover of the forest. "This way!" Steve said, no doubt using his nocturnal vision to lead the way to safety.

The others followed him without question, and as they traveled deeper and deeper into the woods the screams and yells of the "Marked Ones" soon began to fade into the background.

"We've lost them." Ben said stopping to take a breather, the others stopped as well.

"We can't stop for long." Steve warned. "If Bill has convinced humans to bow to him than he might have convinced other creatures of the town to do the same."

"Steve is right we can't stay here!" Ivan said.

"But my feet are tiered." Ben said.

"Mine too." Timmy whined.

"Dudes climb on my back." Soos ordered.

The two boys jumped on his back, and the group carried on; moving deeper and deeper into the woods. Sure it was dangerous to do so, but it was the fastest way to the ruins.

Or it would have been if certain complications had not appeared.

The group had made it half way through the forest when they heard it…

It started as a low hiss, but soon grew louder, and louder.

They froze as the hissing seemed to surround them. "Steve what is that?" Wendy dared to ask.

"Oh no!" Steve was shaking all over, and everyone soon saw why.

A large black eight legged silhouette oozed out of the darkness, followed by several others.

Pacifica felt like she was going to have a heart attack as she realized what they were. "Spiders!" she squeaked. "Why does it have to be spiders?"

"Well, well, well." A voice mused. "Look what I found!"

Mabel watched in horror as a known enemy appeared out of the shadows. "Darlene!"

"The spider lady?" Candy was obviously shocked. "But how did she get from under that shoe?"

"Mabel darling meet my cousins." Darlene said with an evil chuckle as several colossal spiders appeared. "Time Baby drove them to near extinction, but now that he is gone they are no longer afraid to come out of the shadows."

"Darlene please stand with us." Mabel begged.

"Now why would I do that?" she asked. "With Bill in charge I won't have to work for another scrap of food for the rest of my life."

The spiders around her hissed there approval.

"Now my cousins and I can have all the humans we want." She paused as her smile grew bigger. "As long as their unmarked of course!"

Mabel and the others huddled together as the monster drew closer.

"And As far as I can tell none of you are a subject of the Cipher family." Darlene went on. "However…" The spiders suddenly froze at her words, "There is one catch." She said with a sigh. "Those who are unmarked must be thrown into the Gladiator Games first."

"What are the Gladiator Games?" Ollie dared to ask.

"It's a form of entertainment that Bill plans to use to strike fear in his subjects." Darlene explained. "All those unmarked will be thrown into the game. They will be forced to fight each other to the death, if they win a certain number of fights they will gain their freedom."

"And if they lose?" Ollie dared to ask one more question.

"Then they die, and their corpses go to people like my cousin and I." Darlene laughed. "You see we round up the unmarked ones for the games, and as a reward we get to eat those who die!"

"You monsters!" Wendy yelled.

"Why thank you." Darlene laughed. "Now why don't we get this over with?"

Mabel looked around her desperately, looking for a way out; but they were completely surrounded by what appeared to be hundreds of spiders.

"Mabel what do we do?" Pacifica asked as she clung to her.

The group huddle even closer together as the spiders drew closer and closer.

"Mabel!" Pacifica cried.

"Survive." Mabel said bluntly.

"Wait what?" Timmy asked.

"Mabel are you crazy?" Wendy exclaimed.

"No she's right." Ivan said. "We're out numbered, we have no choice but to surrender."

"For now." Mabel assured them. "But we will get out, all we have to do is survive Bill's silly games."

"That might be harder than you think." Darlene mused, and with those final words the monstrous spiders rain down on them.

"I love you guys." Mabel said as they all held each other close.

"We love you too Marshmallow." Gideon said, hugging her.

Mabel couldn't help, but smile Gideon had changed a lot since this all happened; he actually seemed likeable.

"We'll make it through this." Wendy assured them. "We have to for our families."

They all nodded.

"Well this is really touching and all." Darlene said with obvious disgust. "But it's time to go." Suddenly webs shot out at them and the large spiders wrapped them up in webby cocoons.

They didn't struggle, there wasn't a point in it after all.

They needed to save their energy for the games, after all if they knew one thing for sure it was that these games were created by Bill for his own entertainment.

And said entertainment was as sick, and twisted as it could possibly get.
