Chapter 1: Kiss
It had been a year since Blaine left Kurt, a year since their world had been shattered by the loss of their daughter, Tracy. The grief was still raw, still fresh, but life had a way of moving on, whether you were ready for it or not.
One day, Kurt's phone buzzed with a new message. He glanced at the screen, his heart skipping a beat when he saw the sender - Noah Puckerman.
Noah: "Hey, Kurt. I know this might seem out of the blue, but would you like to grab a coffee with me sometime?"
Kurt stared at the message, his mind racing. Noah Puckerman, the guy who had always identified as straight, was asking him out on a date.
Kurt: "Noah, are you sure about this? You're straight."
Noah: "I know, Kurt. But I also know that I care about you. And I want to be there for you, especially after everything that's happened."
Kurt felt a lump in his throat. Kurt was touched by Noah's words but confused.
Kurt: "Noah, I appreciate your concern. But it's unfair to either of us if this is out of pity."
Noah: "It's not pity, Kurt. It's friendship... maybe something more. I don't have all the answers, but I will figure it out with you."
Kurt took a deep breath, his fingers hovering over the keyboard. This was new, unexpected. But it was a step towards healing, moving on.
Kurt: "Alright, Noah. Let's grab that coffee."
The day of the coffee date. Kurt found himself standing outside the Lima Bean, his heart pounding in his chest. He took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
Noah was already there, sitting at their usual table. He looked up as Kurt entered, a small smile on his lips.
Noah says, "Hey, Kurt. You look great."
Kurt blushed, tugging self-consciously at his scarf says, "Thanks, Noah. You don't look too bad yourself."
They ordered their drinks - a caramel macchiato for Kurt and a black coffee for Noah. As they waited for their order, an awkward silence fell between them.
Noah says, "Kurt, I want you to know I'm not doing this out of pity. I genuinely care about you."
Kurt looked at Noah, his blue eyes filled with sincerity. "I know, Noah. And I appreciate it. It's just... everything is so complicated right now."
Noah says, "I understand, Kurt. And I'm not asking for anything. I want to be here for you, as a friend... or maybe something more."
Their drinks arrived, breaking the tension. They spent the rest of the date talking about everything and nothing - school, music, hopes, and dreams. It was comfortable, and easy, like old times.
As they left the coffee shop, Kurt turned to Noah. "Thank you, Noah. For everything."
Noah smiled, his eyes soft. "Anytime, Kurt."
And as they walked away, Kurt couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. Things were starting to look up.
After leaving the coffee shop, Noah suggested, "How about we head to your place, Kurt?"
Kurt hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure, Noah."
They arrived at Kurt's house. They settled on the couch, their conversation flowing easily.
As the evening wore on, Noah turned to Kurt, his gaze intense. Without a word, he leaned in capturing Kurt's lips in a passionate kiss. It was unexpected, but Kurt responded his heart pounding in his chest.
When they finally pulled apart, Noah looked at Kurt, his eyes filled with emotions. "Kurt, there's something I need to tell you."
Kurt looked at him, his heart racing. "What is it, Noah?"
Noah took a deep breath, his gaze steady. "Karofsky and Santana dared me to do this. After you had told them about your dream guy, they thought he sounded a lot like me."
Noah's confession hung in the air, a heavy silence filling the room. Kurt stared at him, his heart pounding in his chest.
"You did what?" Kurt's voice was icy, his blue eyes flashing with anger.
Noah flinched, taken aback by Kurt's reaction. "Kurt, I-"
"No, Noah. Just go." Kurt's voice was firm, leaving no room for argument.
Noah looked at him, hurt flashing in his eyes. But he nodded, standing up and heading for the door. "I'm sorry, Kurt," he said quietly before leaving.
Once Noah was gone, Kurt grabbed his phone, dialing Santana's number. She picked up on the second ring.
"Hey, Kurt," she greeted, her voice cheerful.
"Santana," Kurt's voice was cold, "Did you and Karofsky dare Puck to ask me out?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line. "Kurt, I-"
"You had no right, Santana!" Kurt snapped, his anger boiling over. "You had no right to play with my feelings like that!"
Santana was silent for a moment. "Kurt, we didn't mean-"
"I don't care what you meant, Santana!" Kurt cut her off, his voice shaking. "Just... just stay out of my life."
With that, Kurt ended the call, his heart aching. He felt betrayed and hurt, but most of all, he felt angry at Santana, Karofsky, and Noah, but mostly mad at himself.
In the days that followed, Noah found himself at a loss. He had hurt Kurt, the one person he had been trying to help. He knew he had to make things right, yet he didn't know how.
After some thought, Noah writes Kurt a letter, pouring out his feelings and apologizing for his actions.
Kurt,
I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you. The dare... it was a stupid idea. But it made me realize something. I care about you, more than I ever thought possible. And I'm sorry for messing things up,
Yours, Noah
He left the letter at Kurt's doorstep, hoping that Kurt would read it and understand.
A few days later, Noah showed up at Kurt's house with a peace offering - a box of Kurt's favorite macarons from the Lima Bean.
Noah states, "Kurt, I know I messed up. And I'm sorry. These are for you."
Kurt looked at him, his expression unreadable. "Why, Noah? Why did you do it?"
Noah sighs, "I... I don't know, Kurt. I wanted to be there for you. And I wanted to see if there was something more between us."
Kurt was silent for a moment, then he sighed. "Noah, I need time. Time to think, to heal."
Noah smiles and says, "I understand, Kurt. Take all the time you need. I'll be here, waiting."
And with that, Noah left, leaving Kurt with his thoughts and a box of macarons.
A few days later, Noah found himself at the Lima Bean and sat across from Blaine. The tension between them was palpable.
Noah says, "Blaine, we need to talk about Kurt."
Blaine looked at him, his expression guarded, asking, "What about Kurt?"
Noah shouts, "You left him, Blaine. You left him when he needed you the most."
Blaine flinched, his gaze dropping to his coffee. "I... I couldn't handle it, Puck. The grief... it was too much."
Noah exclaims, "And you think it wasn't for Kurt? He lost Tracy, too, Blaine. And then he lost you."
The conversation grew heated, voices rising as they argued about who loved Kurt more. But then, Noah did something that surprised everyone.
Standing up, Noah cleared his throat, drawing the attention of the entire coffee shop. Then shout "Everyone, I have something to say. I'm gay. And I'm in love with Kurt Hummel."
The coffee shop fell silent, everyone staring at Noah in shock. But Noah didn't care. He had said what he needed to say.
Unbeknownst to him, Santana had been secretly livestreaming the entire confrontation on Facebook. The video quickly went viral, garnering thousands of views and comments.
Noah's confession was out there for the world to see. He had proven his love for Kurt, not just to Blaine, but to everyone. And now, all he could do was wait for Kurt's response.
Kurt was at home when his phone buzzed with a new notification. It was a link to a Facebook video from Santana. Curious, he clicked on it.
The video showed Noah standing in the Lima Bean with a determined look. Kurt watched as Noah cleared his throat, his voice echoing in the silent coffee shop.
"I'm gay. And I'm in love with Kurt Hummel."
Kurt's heart skipped a beat. He watched as Noah confessed his feelings, his words echoing in Kurt's mind. He replayed the video, watching Noah's confession over and over again.
He sat there, his mind racing. Noah was gay. Noah was in love with him. It was a lot to process.
But as he watched Noah's confession, Kurt couldn't help but feel a warmth spread through him. Noah had been there for him when he needed someone the most. And now, he had put himself out there, confessing his feelings for Kurt to the world.
Kurt is uncertain of what the future holds for them. But as he watched Noah's confession, he knew one thing - Noah Puckerman was a man of his word. And that meant something.
A few days after his public confession, Noah found himself standing outside Kurt's house. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Kurt opened the door, surprise evident on his face asking, "Noah? What are you doing here?"
Noah states, "I... I wanted to talk to you, Kurt. About us."
Kurt hesitated, then stepped aside to let Noah in. They sat down on the couch, an awkward silence filling the room.
Noah states, "Kurt, I know you're uncertain about our future. And I get it. It's new, it's scary. But I want you to know that I'm here for you. No matter what."
Kurt looked at him, his blue eyes filled with uncertainty as he said, "But Noah, you've never been in a relationship with a guy before. How can you be so sure about this?"
Noah says, "I'm not, Kurt. I'm not sure about a lot of things. But I am sure about one thing - I care about you. And I'm willing to figure the rest out, together."
Kurt was silent for a moment, then he nodded, saying, "Okay, Noah. Let's figure it out. Together."
And with that, they started their journey into the unknown, hand in hand, ready to face whatever the future held for them.
Kurt's phone buzzed with a new group text from Quinn, Dave, and Santana.
Quinn: "Kurt, did you know Puck quit the Air Force?"
Dave: "Yeah, and he's working at Hummel's Tire and Lube now."
Santana: "Isn't that your Uncle Mick's place now, Kurt?"
Kurt stared at the messages, his mind racing. Noah had quit the Air Force? And he was working at the shop?
Before he could respond, another message popped up, this one from Quinn.
Quinn: "Watch out, Kurt. You finally got my boyfriend."
Kurt couldn't help but laugh at Quinn's joke. But then, her next message made him pause.
Quinn: "You know, Kurt, that kiss Puck gave you... I think that's why he did all this."
Kurt sat back, his heart pounding in his chest. Could it be true? Had Noah done all this because of their kiss?
As he sat there, staring at his phone, Kurt couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Confusion, surprise, but most of all, hope. Maybe, just maybe, things were starting to look up.
On their first date, they went to a restaurant that was softly lit, the murmur of conversation and the clinking of cutlery creating a comfortable ambiance. Kurt and Noah sat across from each other, menus in hand.
Noah tells the waiter, "I think I'll have the Kishke."
Kurt looked up, his eyebrows raised. "Kishke? What's that?"
Noah explains, "It's a traditional Jewish dish. It's made from a cow's intestine stuffed with flour, onions, and spices."
Kurt's face turned a shade paler as he said, "That's... interesting."
Noah laughed, his eyes twinkling, asking, "Not your cup of tea, huh?"
Kurt says, "I think I'll stick with the Kreplach. It sounds safer."
As they waited for their food, Kurt looked at Noah, his expression serious, and asked, "Noah, about the other day..."
Noah starts, "Kurt, I-"
Kurt interrupts, "No, let me finish. I appreciate your honesty, Noah. And I want to give this a chance. But I need you to promise me something."
Noah states, "Anything, Kurt."
Kurt says, "Promise me that you're doing this because you want to, not because you feel obligated to."
Noah reaches across the table, takes Kurt's hand, and declares, "I promise, Kurt. I'm doing this because I want to. Because I care about you."
And as they sat there, hand in hand, Kurt couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, things were going to be okay.
After their dinner, Noah and Kurt decided to check out a local gay bar. The atmosphere was lively, filled with music and laughter. They found a cozy corner and settled down with their drinks.
As the night progressed, a man approached their table, his eyes lingering on Kurt a bit too long for Noah's liking. He was hitting on Kurt, and Noah could see Kurt was uncomfortable.
Noah yells, "Hey, buddy, he's not interested."
The man turned to Noah, a smirk on his face. "And who are you to decide that?"
Noah declares, "I'm his boyfriend. Now back off."
The man laughed, clearly not taking Noah's words seriously. That's when Noah stood up, his face hardening. "I said, back off."
What started as a verbal confrontation quickly escalated into a physical one. Noah, always the protective one, didn't back down. The fight ended with the bar's security escorting the man out.
Noah turned to Kurt, concern in his eyes. He asks, "Are you okay, Kurt?"
Kurt nodded, managing a small smile, and stated, "I am now. Thanks, Noah."
As they left the bar, hand in hand, they knew this was just the beginning of their journey together.
After their dinner, Noah and Kurt decided to head back to Kurt's house. As they walked in, they were greeted by the familiar face of Burt Hummel, Kurt's dad, who was now a Congressman since the unfortunate passing of Finn.
Burt states, "Kurt, you're home late. And Noah, it's good to see you again."
Noah smiled, nodding at Burt. "It's good to see you too, Mr. H."
Just then, Carole, Burt's wife, came down the stairs, her face flushed. She was on the phone, her voice raised in frustration.
Carole yells, "Norma, I don't care what you think! Puck is a grown man and he can make his own decisions!"
Kurt and Noah exchanged a glance. It was clear that Carole was talking to Norma Puckerman, Noah's mother.
Carole states, "And if you can't accept that Puck is gay and dating Kurt, then that's your problem, not ours!"
With that, Carole ended the call, her expression stern. She turned to Noah, her gaze softening. "I'm sorry you had to hear that, Noah."
Noah says"It's okay, Mrs. H. I knew my mom wouldn't take it well."
Despite the tense situation, Noah and Kurt couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. They had each other, and they had the support of Burt and Carole. And in the end, that's all that mattered.
After their conversation, Burt asked Noah to stay back for a moment. Kurt, sensing the seriousness of the situation, excused himself and went upstairs.
Burt says "Puck, I heard about... well, about what happened last year."
Noah stiffened, his expression guarded, says, "I'm not sure what you're talking about, Mr. H."
Burt sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You don't have to pretend, Puck. I know it's hard, but you don't have to go through this alone."
Noah was silent for a moment, then he nodded, saying, "Thank you, sir. That means a lot."
Burt clapped him on the shoulder, a comforting gesture. "We're family, Puck. And family looks out for each other."
As Noah left to join Kurt, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. He had been carrying this burden for so long, and it felt good to finally let it go.
Later that night, as they lay in bed, Noah turned to Kurt. "Kurt, there's something I need to tell you."
Kurt looked at him, his eyes filled with concern. "What is it, Noah?"
Noah took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "Before we came back here... that was my first time wanting to be with another guy."
Kurt was silent for a moment, then he reached out, taking Noah's hand as he got what Noah was implying, and said, "Thank you for telling me, Noah. I know that wasn't easy."
And as they drifted off to sleep, Noah couldn't help but feel a sense of peace. He was with Kurt, and for the first time in a long time, he felt safe.
The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on Noah and Kurt as they woke up. They shared a look, a silent understanding passing between them. They both felt the desire to be intimate with each other, a natural progression of their growing relationship.
However, as they were about to act on their feelings, they heard a sound that made them pause. It was coming from Burt and Carole's room. The sound of laughter, of whispered words, of intimacy.
Noah and Kurt exchanged a glance, a blush creeping up their faces. They could hear Burt and Carole being intimate with each other. It was a bit awkward, but also strangely comforting. It was a reminder that love and intimacy were not confined to a certain age or time.
Noah chuckles, "Well, this is awkward."
Kurt states, "Tell me about it."
They both burst into laughter, the tension dissipating. They decided to postpone their plans, opting instead to spend the morning cuddling and talking. After all, intimacy wasn't just about physical closeness. It was about emotional connection, about understanding and accepting each other. And in that moment, Noah and Kurt felt closer than ever.
After a hearty meal at Red Lobster, Burt and Carole announced that they had to return to Washington DC. They said their goodbyes, leaving Noah and Kurt alone in the house.
As Noah was tidying up, he found a cap on the bed, similar to the one Burt always wore. Underneath the cap was a note. Picking it up, Noah recognized Burt's handwriting.
The note read:
Mr. P,
I wanted to talk to you about this in person, but I figured a note might be easier. Norma has been giving Carole and me a hard time since you came out. I think she's blaming me for what happened, not the livestream.
Just know that we've got your back, no matter what. And remember, being true to yourself is the most important thing.
Take care,
Burt
Noah felt a lump in his throat as he read the note. Despite the difficulties, he felt a sense of relief knowing he had the support of Burt and Carole. He looked over at Kurt, who had been reading the note over his shoulder.
**Kurt says, "My dad's right, Noah. We've got this."
And with that, they faced the future together, stronger than ever.
Later that day, the Lima Bean was bustling with activity, the usual chatter and clatter of coffee cups filling the air. Noah's sister, Sarah, along with Santana and Quinn, were sitting at a corner table when they saw a familiar face walk in - Blaine, accompanied by his parents, Pamela and Patrick Anderson.
At the same time, Norma Puckerman, Noah's mother, stormed in, her face flushed with anger. She marched up to Blaine and his parents, her voice raised in frustration.
Norma states, "Puck is my child, not yours! And being gay is a sin!"
The café fell silent, all eyes turning to the unfolding drama. Blaine, however, remained calm. He looked at Norma, his expression steady.
Blaine explains, "Norma, being gay is not a sin. It's who Puck is. And we should all respect and support him, not condemn him."
Pamela and Patrick nodded in agreement, their faces stern. Then Patrick says, "Our son, Blaine, is also gay. And we couldn't be prouder of him. Noah deserves the same love and acceptance."
Norma looked taken aback, her anger faltering. The café erupted in applause, the patrons showing their support for Blaine and his parents.
As Norma stormed out of the café, Sarah, Santana, and Quinn exchanged a glance. They knew this was just the beginning of a long journey for Noah. But they also knew that with friends and allies like Blaine and his parents, Noah was not alone.
A few days later, Noah found himself sitting across from Blaine at the Lima Bean. The air was tense, the usual chatter and clatter of the coffee shop fading into the background.
Blaine says, "Puck, there's something I need to tell you."
Noah looked at him, his expression guarded, as he asked, "What is it, Blaine?"
Blaine states, "I... I told your mom about you being gay before you came out."
Noah stiffened, his eyes widening in surprise, as he yelled, "You did what?"
Blaine says, "I'm sorry, Puck. I thought she had a right to know."
Noah was silent for a moment, processing Blaine's words. Then he sighed, running a hand through his hair, "What's done is done, Blaine. What else do you have to tell me?"
Blaine says, "My parents... they know General Michael Young. Your commander."
Noah looked at him, his heart pounding in his chest, as he asked, "And?"
Blaine continues, "And... they know what happened to you, Puck."
Noah felt a lump in his throat. He had been trying to forget about that incident, to move on. But it seemed like the past was determined to catch up with him.
Puck sighs and says, "Thanks for letting me know, man."
As Noah left the coffee shop, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. But he also knew that he couldn't let his past define him. He had a future to look forward to, a future with Kurt. And he was determined to fight for it.
Chapter 2 will be up soon.
